Location Can walk to airport
I've been staying at this hotel for 4 years now and always have a pleasant experience. When i'm transferring between Mainland, HK and Taiwan as well as the US, Its nice to see familiar faces and be treated respectfully.
Easy access to and from Hong Kong airport. Delicious dinner in Cantonese Restaurant.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities were immaculate.
The room was really worn out and in desperate need of an update.
Better than Expected Spacious modern room. No check-in/out lines. . Very Convenient. Surprisingly quiet. Food very expensive and not good quality. No free internet, even at US$250/per night. Cleanliness could be improved a lot. An obvious rip-off based on convenience. Typical Hong Service. Next time I'll go back to Nathan Road.,Food very expensive and not good quality. No free internet even at US$259/per night. Cleanliness could be improved.
It was close and I didn't need to take a cab. The room conditions were moldy and wet. The carpet was so wet I had to wear shoes. The room smelled musty and moldy. The humidity in the room was so bad it warped my passport book. When I called to report it, they sent someone immediately, but when the house keeper came they wanted to know when I was checking out so they could take care of it then. Nobody offered a different room, or to at least clean it on the spot. The entire floor, carpet, was soaked. It was clearly a leak and they didn't care to deal with it.
It was supposed to be a smoke free room, however, there was a strong smell of stale smoke in the room. I have allergies so am very sensitive to cigarette smoke. The room and cleanliness overall was excellent, but the lingering strong odor made it disagreeable.
Some staff members were indifferent. Great staff at the cafe
I booked through Kayak and the various sub-providers associated with Kayak, finally I was given a room with no-wifi included in the rate. Today, wifi is like drinking water, even this hotel provides complementary drinking water, so why on earth do you still think that you can extort people with additional wifi charges? This is a disgrace. As a matter of principle I would never stay at hotel that charges extra fro wifi. The service costs next to nothing and it is an essential utility. No hotel would think of charging extra for electricity or the use of the toilet, so why do you charge for wifi??? Shame on you Regal Hotel, you are a dinosaur...
Close to airport but not enough to return for the convenience. the tub plug device was not connected and required ME to pull it out to drain tub form taking a shower. unacceptable especially for $250 us per night. Tub was dirty prior to me. Only one electrical plug in room. In the day and age of rechargeable items one plug . I do not want to case down a power strip or have to call for something that should already exist. Will not return
Convenient to the airport by its location connected to terminals 1 and 2. This hotel is obviously appropriate for business travelers only. The hotel has 3-4 restaurants and none contain any reasonably priced food (and that is using reasonable in the loosest manner possible). For instance, the cheapest entree at the China Coast American Grill is a burger and fries costing 238 HK Dollars or $34 US Dollars. When i asked the front desk clerk and a waiter about where i could find a reasonably priced restaurant, they both laughed at me and told me to go back to the airport. Further, our room was not clean with random hairs found in locations throughout the room, a tub that was obviously not recently cleaned and one of two available electrical outlets in the room possessing a mysterious stain. Also we had to switch to a second room because our tub would not drain. Also, none of the benefits are included in the room. Unlike many Southeast Asia hotels, a guest must pay for wifi and to use the health club. Maybe this is no issue for a business traveler staying there on a corporate expense account, but for anyone else, it invokes the natural question of how this hotel ever garnered these skytrax awards for being the best airport hotel. This airport hotel has a mediocre staff, somewhat unclean rooms, and a pricing system designed to nickel and dime guests once they arrive. It may be an acceptable airport hotel by some standards but it is far from the best in my humble opinion.
Staff was wonderful.
The rooms were nice and quite big by Asian standards. The best feature is the view of the airport. Watching the planes and trains coming and going on the water. Fascinating. Not near anything but the airport, but the convenience to the airport is the draw. Restaurant selection is limited.
Proximity to the airport - the only reason to stay there The sea view was not as advertised, instead all I could see was the ferry port
Good all round service, excellent food, comfortable room (tea & coffee & water greatly appreciated) and position close to the airport Nothing
No easy acces to internet. Very bad service not included in the rate
Great location for attending show
Great airport hotel. Despite being next to the airport you don't hear (but you do see) the planes taking off and landing. Staff is great. Will stay here again. shuttle to/from airport is only every 20 minutes so it can be a longish wait, especially if you just miss it.
Service was excellent and access to and from the airport was easy and convenient. Facilities in the room were very good, I cant think of anything that would be needed and not provided.
It was very close to the airport thus very convenient for a lay-over. It didn't have free internet
Location. Nice clean & new rooms
Shuttle buses to airport, Tung Chung and Disneyland were great. We used the bus service very frequently and found it always on time and very convenient. Paying separately for breakfast and internet. Buffet breakfast and internet connection should be included in the price.
Very nicely designed and finished rooms. Soundproofing from the airport could be better. Best point was that the very well apppointed and large "executive" lounge had a large furnished balcony for we few leppers who enjoy a drink and a smoke! Free water allowance was a bit mean...should provide two larger bottles.
great rooms, beautiful location, staff was very kind. It's location was a bit difficiult. You have to take a bus to the train station. The airport bus is $3.50 USD, not bad but it's crowded at times. There is a free bus to the train station that ... but, again, it's a bus ride involved with every place you need to go.
close to airport and helpful staff no
Location, easy access to airport No Accor points credited for booking through agency. I chose the hotel to get points, should I be punished like this? It will affect future decisions
It is comfortable hotel with great access to HK and the airport and the local stores
The shuttle bus service to and from the airport was very handy.
Convenient to airport, shopping mall and MTR transit system. Rooms were comfortable. Food on the buffet was OK but not real good for both breakfast and dinner. Currency exchange rate at the hotel was not good (7.3 HK$ per 1US$). It seems like the exchange rate at every other exchange location in Hong Kong was at least 7.7 HK$ per 1US$.
Room cleanliness and outside view from the room.
Very nice and clean room. Extremely slow wifi
Located in a mall, so lot of shops nearby. Easy transportation to the airport Couldn't find the shuttle to get from the airport to the hotel
The pristine room with comfy bed and lovely bed linen. Excellent dinner buffet. Access to the shops. Lovely helpful staff
Clean and we'll laid out No Internet in room unless wanting to pay premium
staff could not explain charges on the bill at checkout. Staff sent us to food court in mall 10 minutes before closing for food. staff was completely disinterested in helping us find our way around the city, only wanted to sell the tour and then would not talk to us. Early bird breakfast was 2 pieces of fruit and 2 pieces of bread that had been sitting out for 90 minutes and when we asked for more food (at 5:30am) no one came. Then we had to ask in the buffett for someone to restock the early bird as we were checking out for an early flight and they brought a little fruit, no coffee, no more bread/pastries.
Because we were only staying there to finish out the last few days of our trip (we had been in HK for 5 days, went to Singapore for four days, then came back for a three day layover before going home), the proximity to the airport was great. It's nice that there was a mall attached, with the MRT right there. If you are in HK to go the Disney, that's easily accessed, as is the Po Lin Monastery & Big Buddha. The airport shuttle was a definite positive, and the airport is literally five minutes away. The pizza we ordered from room service was actually decent. While the MRT is right there, it's a 40-60 minute trip to Central and Tsim Tsa Tsui- where all the action is. Of all the hotels I've stayed in in my life in various countries, this was the first in which I had to pay for wifi. It was $200HKD/24hrs access. The staff was not very attentive. If you try to call the concierge from your room, don't bother because they never answer. You have to try three different lines before reaching anyone. The only immediate answer we got was when ordering room service. You can pay the same amount per night and get nicer hotels with more amenities in HK.
