Hotel staff, bars, main pool, being right on the beach. I had requested Diamond Head view with the package I bought, and found that I wouldn't get that on arrival BUT the guy that checked us in did find one albeit on a much lower floor but still fantastic view and that made my 50th birthday very special. Drink pricing different in different bars! The resort fee baffles me, no idea what that is actually for. Staff were great and the Pronto Pickle was a life saver after a very full day of sightseeing and touring! Great staff in there too, and we could take hot food to the room with a couple of drinks from the ABC! :o) sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down. Nothing better. Check in seems an incredibly slow process and there's little point to the 2 lines for HH members. However, the staff do not let you leave the check in without ensuring you have every bit of information you could want. All very patient staff. Pricey hotel, resort fees, and parking fees, and beer! However, the cost of cocktails were a welcome surprise! The pools are all in the shade by 5pm, which is such a shame.
The inclusion of the mandatory and deceptive "resort fee" tainted my entire experience at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The "resort" amenities offered no additional value to me yet were not optional. What's more, the one "resort" amenity that I did use, wireless Internet, was terrible and unusable; just loading Gmail timed out continuously. I ended up using my phone as a hotspot because it had better throughput. The charge for parking was yet another bait-and-switch and was not included as it is in other hotel's resort fees. As a matter of principle I will not recommend this hotel to others nor stay there myself if Hilton continues this deceptive practice.
Bathroom had a sliding door and no fan. No privacy.
Staff were absolutely wonderful. We even had a bellman refuse a tip and a staff member on break offer to help us. Magnificent and gorgeous property in the heart of everything. This is a very large property with several buildings and can get crowded. It is rather easy to get lost also. Attentive staff and service more than makes up for that. It is a large property with several buildings so it can sometimes feel like a factory. It is also easy to get lost. However top-notch staff make the difference. We did have a misunderstanding about what kind of breakfast we got for a prepaid fee and where it was located. We were told we should get a full breakfast. Vouchers said continental breakfast in one building - staff told us to go to a different restaurant (mistake). Again, staff made everything ok.
Loved it was walking distance to a lot of things. Liked the resort feel. Romantic and family beach. Nice walks on waterfront. So crowded it's hard to get around in car.. Person kept knocking on the wall when we would have tv on past ten( I didn't feel it was up very high since no one could talk and hear tv at same time). Very expensive hotel. But again, you must pay to be on waterfront. Sand was odd on resort by water like it was poured to make a actual beach there.
I liked that the location is close to the water Much needed room renovations are required in addition to better cleanliness. Parking in the hotel which is required if you have a car is way over priced and even more than the price to rent the actual car. Another resort fee is added at the end which covers items such as yoga and do not apply to everyone is applied. Fine a different hotel that would be your best bet
Wonderful relaxing atmosphere! Nice walking path along the beach, good variety of restaurants, beautiful views & grounds, staff was very nice Main pool is dated, looks 1970s, MAIN COMPLAINT: NO Room Service. What major hotel resort has no room service? I was disappointed. food is pricey. Go to a market & get waters, fruit snacks etc. & save $
In a pinch because of an ice storm, we had to find a room before our reservation at the Hale Koa started. Hilton was close, so we picked this hotel. So expensive. Perk was we could walk to our hotel the next day. Room was lack luster for a $300 room. And that's all we had really. Super busy and hard to navigate with luggage with all the people swarming around. Waste of money. Breakfast buffet is good but so expensive, and another $35 charge at check out for what? We only stayed one night, and that was one night too long.
Fireworks show. Location on the beach. Access to 4 lovely pools. Array of shops and restaurants. Dated rooms. Decrepit walls/paint fixtures. Missing furniture in my room? Elevators really old.
Everything was great! The beach was beautiful, 5$3 staff, facilities, location was excellent! The pools were overwhelming, crammed with people. Also, the hot tubs always has children playing in them and were unattended, they weren't very relaxing. An "adult only" hot tub or sauna would be an added bonus! We weren't the only couple frustrated by this.
Loved the small lagoon, kiddie pool & water slides, Our suite was clean & spacious with amazing view. Check in was awful-it took over 30 minutes to check in. Huge lines were forming and not really sure why since reservations were already made. Also annoying was the fact that you were given cards to get towels- however they failed to mention that you had to return them otherwise you would have to pay a. $10 per card!!! we usually do express check out just so we don't have to deal with front desk again.
Alyssa was very helpful in helping us to switch our rooms and we do appreciate her very much. We started off on the wrong foot from the moment we arrived, having to wait over and hour to check in. Yes it was the weekend of the marathon and we understand that but, for the first 45 minutes they had only 3 people checking in the regular guest and only 3 checking in the Hilton elite. After they put another 3 on each side the line moved much quicker. On top of this we had booked a king bed but when we go to the room it was 2 queens and by this time we didn't want to go back to the front desk and wait even longer. They did end up moving us for our second night, but it's still frustrating when you have to move in the middle of your trip. On top of this the beds aren't what i would expect when i'm paying $375 a night..super hard and could almost feel the spring in one of them....needless to say we won't be wasting our money next time we visit Oahu.
Love it. Honolulu is known for old resorts and hotels. Modern's building isnt really new, however, all the internals have been renovated so that it feels "modern". Great stay for young hip couples. Parking is a little expensive. $35 and they charge you everything you get your car in and out. Other than that, we had an awesome experience.
The Modern is off the beaten trail and appreciated how relaxing the atmosphere was. The pool area is beautiful and calm, and if you need to relax further the sunset pool is just the ticket. All restaurants and bars are excellent in the Modern too.
Staff was excellent Beds could have been more comfortable
Beautiful hotel. Study bar is nice with good cocktails, rooms are nice and housekeeping is good. Difficult to find space at pools and they don't have chairs on the beach. During peak times like Christmas / NY it makes it tough to secure space. Service at the restaurant by the pool was very slow. Painfully slow... I would return but challenged to stay there again @ $500/ night unless everything is perfect.
Out of waikiki, room views
Whenever we asked for service, (maintenance, engineer, housekeeping), they came within 5 minutes.
The hotel is nice. The views are pretty. The staff were courteous and helpful. It's clean. The location downtown is close to most everything. It's not on the beach, which isn't a deal breaker, but I wasn't feeling the "Hawaiian vibe". It just wasn't there. Everything closes super early, even the hotel bar and it's all sub par, nothing too fabulous. I guess the word I could use that would fit this hotel is generic. It's not holiday inn generic, but it's definitely not worth the price, the parking fees, or the resort fee. I didn't feel like I really fit in too well either. If you're a tourist to Hawaii and you'll barely spend time at the hotel, this is the one if you're willing to pay the price. I also didn't feel like I fit in here. If you're coming from Japan though, you'll fit right in.
It is a fantastic facility. I enjoyed my stay Nothing I didn't like
front desk staff, courteous professional bar staff, main lobby friendly helpful
The hotel was under renovation but the staff was so amazing. It totally made our stay. Will surely stay in the future.
Everyone on the staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are immaculate and the view is amazing With the Renovation Discount it was about Half price maybe even less than half and absolutely an great value Nothing
The spa is awesome. We spent 2 nights here, it doesn't worth the money. The hotel in Wakiki is generally expensive, but if you want a 4 star experience, choose hotels like Sheraton or Westin. Need to pay extra for wifi, parking, even water after first night. The room is quite small for a 4 star standard.
Close to everything in Waikiki but not in the midst of the resorts Dirty stain/spot on floor in bathroom next to tub was there every day even after cleaning. All else was nice.
At first was disappointed at not having an ocean view but ended up loving the "city" view - especially at night. Too many children at every pool. They need an adult only pool or section of a pool. (And we were there during school - will be even worse when school is out).
Loves having a kitchenette ... very well stocked ..be sure to select the upgraded /newly remodeled rooms
Location and friedly staff, made our stay very comfortable , we have no hesitation in recommending the Ilikai as a holiday selection,
Location was great - close to everything but not in the middle of the busy part of Waikiki.
room cleaning lady was so helpful and nice.view from the room was also very nice. compare to the hotel used to be a marriott, it looked the rank was downgraded. however I love the beach and harver front facility. litte away from the waikiki area.
Room is large. Facilities are good. Free internet. Every room has a large balcony and good view! Bed is a bit uncomfortable. Single-pane windows let in too much street noise
In room kitchenette Comfortable beds Balcony Friendly staff Parking Sucks!! $20-25/day
The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is great-awesome coffee stand out front and close to multiple bus stops and the beach. They charge a $20 a night resort fee which pays for use of their wifi and filtered water system. In my opinion that fee wasn't justified. Also the facilities while clean and comfortable could be updated.
I liked the water bags they provide for cutting down on the use of plastic bottles. I was not impressed that I had to pay $20 a night for parking! I have never been to a hotel that did not have parking included.
I liked the view and the bed Staff doesn't know much about helping people out to learn new things here. The pool has strange hours from 10 AM to 7 PM I think they got that backwards. They overbooked me a day on my room and would not give me a refund. I'm not sure I would stay here again for the amount of money that I paid for 10 days
it had a stove, sheets and towels were clean it was dirty, the shower was clogged
Good location, allowed us to keep car there after check out for a day tour. Lobby was nicely decorated. Room was run down, badly needs updated. No view to speak of. Price was way too high for these accomodations.
Clean. Friendly front desk. Always willing to help. noisy. Tour buses after tour buses. Eary in the morning. Noisy air conditioner. Locked out of room at 11:00 pm because the battery went dead onb the front door lock. Problems with TV volume. Had to call a technition who fixed it ....but it didn't work again in the morning.
Nothing Dirty, old with roaches in rooms
Nothing It was small and was given 3 twin size beds for my husband and I.
Helpful staff Well organised front desk. Web site dors not say the gym is very small and there is an extra charge for the Internet. $20 Also there is no tea or coffee in the room and no restaurant, therefore no breakfast. This is not good value for money compared to better local hotels. Very disappointed in this.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable. You can feel the springs through the mattress cover. I ended up having to use all of the pillows as additional cushion between my body and the mattress.
The place is close to everything Building is old. They need to remodel the facilities
Tiny tiny tiny rooms. Not even a desk chair.
Clean modern hotel It's a ways from Waikiki beach
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Like that there was a Starbucks located inside the hotel. Had a disco there, which is fine for singles, but not too friendly with family with young children. The patrons were a little loud and there was a large crowd outside trying to get in.
Walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Waikiki, multiple beaches, on main bus line to other shopping areas Not luxury accommodations but convenient!
Adjacent to the Ala Moana Mall and dining places. Short walking distance to the Hawaii Convention Center. Starbucks and reasonably price convenient store in the facility. Micro wave and refrigerator availability in the unit. Noise from the heavy machinery at the construction site just outside the window/patio door is constant in the day time. Computer use and printing is too costly for guest.
Convenient location. Good service. Reasonable price. Jean, Kate and Cathy are the wonderful people who work there and make my stay a very nice experience!
Nothing at all The staff, the price also we waited in line to check in for over an hour.
Very close to Ala Moana shopping center and very clean rooms Rooms were kind of small when you look at it. Its perfect for 1 person but probably not for 2 people
Great staff. Great location. Can't think of anything.
Convenience of shopping and dining. Staff was friendly. Semi walking distance to Ala Moana State Park. Single rooms in Kona tower where a bit small and a little outdated. Rooms could use a good deep cleaning. Couch in room had stains on both cushions. Carpets are in need of shampooing..
Great location if you want to be walking distance from the Ala Moana Shopping Mall Woke up early to machinery noise, this may have be temporary
Very convenient to Ala Moana Shopping Center
We just got back from a 7-day stay at the Doubletree Hotel Alana. My husband and I were there for a high school basketball tourney. We were offered great rates through the school so we really got a great deal for the quality of our accomodations. I really have nothing but positive things to say. The hotel is going through a renovation - the top 6 floors/lobby had been through the renovation already. I requested a renovated room prior to my arrival, which the hotel was able to accomodate. The room was great - all new decor so it made the stay very comfortable. The front desk staff was wonderful - always friendly and wanting to accomodate my requests. Housekeeping staff was never in our way. The valet guys were friendly and helpful. The location is very accessible to restaurants, the ocean, the bus lines and shopping. The warm cookies (provided at check-in and really any time I asked for one) are awesome. If I had anything negative to say it would have to do with the renovation - the jack hammering for the lower floors could sometimes be heard/felt - we were probably in our rooms more due to 2 days of rain. But the renovations should be over within the next couple of months so that should not be an issue for future travelers. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
The service was very good, very attentive & professional. I was less than impressed with the room. Not very clean, outdated, dirty fingerprints on the door & unbelievably noisy. the street noise kept us up all night. The clerk gave us a 'free upgrade', w/ocean view. You can keep the ocean view, it was definitely a limited view. the upgrade put us right next to elevator & worse yet, the ice machine. why do people need ice at 2 a.m.? it sounded like people were in our room getting ice. will never stay here again. Spent another night at Outrigger Reef on the beach which was much nicer & even cheaper.
The hotel was a big disappointment. Construction was going on directly outside our door with loud drills at 9pm while we were trying to sleep. In addition, there were asphalt grinders working from 7pm-7am doing a complete road resurfacing project the entire week we stayed. Was able to switch rooms but was disappointed in the ''whatever'' attitude of the staff when discussing our experiences with them. Finally, the activity coordinator was not welcoming and didn't appear to either have much knowledge or willingness to help us plan our activities during our stay. Will never stay there again!
I stayed here one night. I was not impressed. There were apartments which my room overlooked. This did not seem like a good neighborhood and was a long way from the beach. I could see the water in the distance. The lanai is very small. This is an older hotel in need of room upgrading. The bed was not up to Hilton standards by any means. It was not comfortable. Parking was very expensive but the valet got my car immediately when I asked for it. The good points of the room are the frig and microwave, but finding a grocery store in HI is quite a feat. The bathroom had a tub that you have to step up 3 feet to climb into. Not made for arthritic people for sure. For the price you are better off searching closer to the beach.
It is very apparent that this was restructured. The bathroom had a sliding frosted door that did not lock; the couch area was beyond the beds and it was separated by two sliding doors that were poorly constructed. We had the unfortunate luck of being next to the elevator and ice machine.
Walked accross the bathroom this morning at 610 am and my foot crunched on a roach, i turned on the light and counted (no lie) up to thirty bugs. They had no other rooms availible so I packed up and found another place. I had to toss out my toothbrush, combs and brushes. Nasty!
if this is how Honolulu hotels treat guests, it' no wonder the tourist business is flopping. Internet was $10 per day AND TERRIBLE. Valet parking was $29 per day and stopped at 10 pm. So you leave your keys in car and hope a valet gets it and not a drug addict.
We stayed at the Doubletree for 4 nights and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, friendly, and met all of our needs. The location was great, we were within walking distance and bus transportation for many things. The hotel staff was most helpful with shuttles and taxis. Would most definetly stay there again and would recommend it to anyone!
Thanks Doubletree for a wonderful Hawaiian experience. Your hotel embodies the Aloha spirit. Effectient, friendly staff from the top to the housekeepers. Hotel in a convienent location and is safe. The only concern I have is the hotel will under go renervations this year to be more suite oriented. The problem is I hope they don't raise the room rates so much that I can no longer afford to stay there.
Hotel is centrally located, walking distance to many tourist places, beach easily accessible, and close to the depot for various tours.
My wife, 8-year-old and I stayed here for 8 days in October. Our overall experience was good, but we wouldn't stay at the Alana Doubletree again. This hotel is in good condition. The staff is very kind and courteous. The pool was small, but worked for us. Important note about pool, if you?re looking to sit in the sun, one half of the available patio space and the entire pool are in the shade (of the building) for the entire afternoon. While the hotel is non-smoking, people still disregard the law and the hallways often smell of smoke. The three elevators are microscopic in size but lightning fast. The rooms are also very small. The shower/tub is literally a half tub into which you have to ?climb? (big step). If you?re looking to take a bath, this isn?t the hotel. The only restaurant on the lowest level has a VERY expensive buffet breakfast or normally priced ala carte menu. The big plus of this hotel is that the room rates were half of what the Hawaiian Village was asking. This hotel is also on a very busy street (Ala Moana) so police/fire sirens are very frequent. The location is excellent. . . adjacent to Ft. DeRussy and its beautiful parks. 15 minute walk to the beach. 10 minute walk to the major shopping districts. Next time we?ll look to stay in a hotel that offers a larger more normal sized room.
My wife and I stayed for a week at the Doubletree Waikiki. Overall, the experience was not bad. The biggest disappointment by far was cockroaches. We saw a few, both living and dead. Part of the problem was because we booked through travel website, the hotel put us on the lowest floor, closest to the kitchen. Do the math. My next biggest complaint is really against the Hilton Corporation, not this particular hotel. Because we booked through Travel Website, we were not eligible for Hilton Honors points for the trip. That was really disappointing, as I have been a member for years. The room had a shower, but not a full bath, but we knew that before we went. It wasn't all bad. The manager did give us breakfast coupons to make up for the roaches. The location was nice overall. Waikiki is somewhat like South Beach in Miami. The Doubletree was close enough to the fun things to do, yet far enough away to escape the constant noise and traffic of that main stretch. The hotel pool was small, but fine. The beach was maybe a 10-minute walk away. Overall, I found the Doubletree to be a alright. I'd recommend people do their research, and more importantly, think about what's most important TO YOU. The roaches were gross, and I thank my lucky stars that my wife is not easily flustered by such things. However, the money we saved did allow us to take a day tour of Pearl Harbor and on another day go to the spa. In that sense, it wasn't a bad deal.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel! With the splendid room and quiet location, the hotel was as enjoyable as the destination!
Location Front desk staff were unorganized and rude. Room we bioked was not ready and wecwere given the run around
Customer Service and plenty of amenities for kids. We stayed at Kalia tower and it was very pleasant to go in and out. No floating tubes allowed in the pool.
Location was great. Close to everything. Valet parking was slow. I paid for it , but could have self parked faster. The Valet scanner to call for your vehicle never worked and only seemed like one valet working at any given time. Calling down to preorder valet service did not work either.
The location and the view was good. no cork screw in the room; you need to go to front desk to get you wine opened and Starbucks closed super early.
Many type of restaurant, pool and shop. If possible, more smoking space would be appreciated.
I was pleasantly surprised with the suite. I knew it was Hilton and would live up to its name, but I never expected the size and beauty of what we got. There were 5 of us so we needed space. So I opted not to take the standard hotel route and go with a suite. It was more than that. It was an apartment! 2 full bedrooms, two baths, a spacious living room, dining room, and a full kitchen. There was also free laundry room nearby. All was a part of a huge vacation complex right on the beach with multiple pools. Close to most amenities our adult children wre able to entertain themselves without needing to use the rental car. The hotel staff were very nice. The only complaint wad was there was something that kept biting my daughter and we narrowed it down to the room. Even though they did come change the sheéts, she was still getting bit each day. Other than offer their condolences they did not admit fault, nor any compensation to amend for the problem. We didn't press the issue.
The room space and the fact it had a kitchen.Staff was friendly. Grounds were clean and beautiful. Walking distance to shopping and Waikiki. Construction next door, noisy. Remodel of one elevator made it a horrible wait each time you needed one!
The location is awesome, close to the beach, close to shops, entertainment etc.
Booked a studio and was appalled upon arrival. For the excessive amount of money charged for what is a Hilton Grand Vacation property, I walked into a tiny room comparative to a Days Inn room, with no view, dark, dismal, with no balcony. I immediately called to reception to express my concerns and at first they weren't going to do anything. But I insisted and got upgraded to a better room, a one bedroom. It was in the tower next door, the Grand Waikikian, a 'luxury' property. The one bedroom suite was very nice. It had a full kitchen, two bedded bedroom, a big tub, walk-in shower, nice bathroom and a view of a busy intersection and other buildings from its balcony, which I never used, due to the view. Hey, it was an improvement over the studio. The Hilton property is huge, consisting of many buildings, a variety of pools, a shopping mall, and lots and lots of people arriving in busses. If you are looking for a quiet bit of luxury, DO NOT stay here. You will be miserable. But if you like the excitement and hubbub, you might like it. We walked the entire property looking for a quiet secluded spot but didn't find a single one. They have a great beachfront location, with their own private lagoon which is beautiful. The gym is a trek from most other buildings and consists of lots of aerobic equipment but nothing but free weights. There is a pool there, the quietest one on the property, but no view and not near the beach. The spa is costly and using the steam room, sauna and dressing rooms will cost you $17 per day. The resort is a 15 minute walk away from the action in Waikiki, or a $6 cab ride. Waikiki beach is fun, loaded with malls, restaurants, high-end designer shops and lots of tourists. There are lots of little restaurants around the hotel and the hotel itself has many that are much pricier. The staff are generally very nice and helpful, but there are a handful of sourpusses working here. There are so many nicer hotels than the Hilton for the same cost, I see ...
The Accommodation Knowing we had five in the room there was not any blankets or sheets for the extra bed
The grounds were stunning and made you feel you were in Paradise, unfortunately our room was tiny and only had 2 small windows so felt quite dark and dingy. We had booked a king bed but got given 2 doubles, when we tried later in stay to change or upgrade was told not possible as both Grand Vacations and Hotel fully booked out, saying that it did not seem crowded, was always able to get pool loungers and restaurants not busy
location is nice additional fees was not readily include in pricing, so the cost advertised is not cost charged.
Friendly staff Outdated, few amenities, drab
Clean, comfortable, convenient. Nothing to complain about about facilities. 3 pm check-in was inconvenient.
Charged for 40 dollars of amenities we didn't use ie tv wifi etc
The power cut out on us. We didn't have power for the last night of our stay. Since the power was out we didn't have hot water either. The hotel is planning to issue a refund for the last night.
Friendly front desk, better rate than surrounding hotels, clean and easy. stayed for one night, barely spent time at the hotel proper, but room got really dark and we were able to sleep in till 11am after a late night, no problem. Pool looked small but nice, never got to use it. Bellman was slightly odd helping me with my bags to the car (it was waiting just beyond the boundary of the hotel) but he still did it! Couldn't tell if he was joking or not (afraid not). Front desk said it would be no problem, though, so that was another plus on the service.
Staff is very friendly
The friendly staff and very helpful. Parking fee is way too high. The parking entrance way is steep. It was kind of scare because my rental car almost did make it up all the way. It would be nice if it's a little lower.
The location was good and the hotel was nice overall. Despite it's size, the room was pretty nicely laid out. The room was very small. The A/C had failed. I knew something was up because the check in process was painful and there were lots of other upset customers. What really made me angry was the way the clerk checked us in completely without mentioning the problem. After she handed us our keys she casually mentioned that there wasn't any AC and it would not be fixed anytime soon. There was no offer to compensate for this. Later we approached another clerk with a complaint and were were told that they were attempting to place customers at other Aqua properties. It seemed that they only did this if you were very persistent. At that point we ended up stuck with the room because they never followed up on our request. The thing that really upset me the most was indifferent nasty attitude displayed by the first clerk. I might have had a different experience on a another day, but this time turned me off completely. There a lot of other fine places to stay in this price range. I won't risk coming back to this chain.
The hotel was quiet, modestly priced and located adjacent to the trolley lines and public transit.
The location was great, the staff was friendly and while the room was clean and the view fair enough,it seemed small and unfortunately the tub backed up and that was not at all appealing. That could happen anywhere, anytime but this instance was really bad timing. other than that mentioned above, the hotel was pleasant. On the recommendation below, a maybe was really my thought but i accidentally picked no.
If not looking to be on the beach - this is a great location. Furnishings are dated - definitely can use an update!
On Site Laundry, close to the hub of Waikiki, beautiful views. Free movie rental kiosk. Wine and Cheese on Monday Wednesday and Friday. Sunny the lying manager who is never there, the staff who could care less, their constant lies and most of all their Valet that will destroy your car and laugh about it. This is a terrible hotel, it subsidizes the condominium owners who live on site. We also had bugs in our room and maid service ceased after the 3rd day. Be warned!
They have this amazing beer, wine and cheese event every other day that is included in your stay. The location is perfect, you are close enough to the water to walk and also close to the night life. They clean your room while you are gone and place an orchid as a center piece on a day of your stay. The only downside was the 35 dollar a night charge for parking, but that is easily remedied by free street parking, assuming you rented a car. I really did love this place
Rooms are clean. Kitchenette is nice. Partial ocean view room from floor 12 is great One elevator was shut down completely during our stay and of the two remaining only one seemed to be in service. It seemed to stop at every floor and took forever to get to our room or to the lobby. Once I waited a full 15 minutes for the elevator
Asked for a higher floor and given a room on the 16th floor which was awesome! Everythng about it was great besides the hefty parking cost. We paid more for parking fir 2 days than the actual car rental itself. Wish this hotel was in the middle of everything but walking wasnt too bad. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!
Free wifi, comfy bed and pillows, toiletries available. No guaranteed early check in. Slow Computers in lobby. We tried leaving AC on while gone, but it turned off automatically leaving the room stuffy up our return.
Nothing Greedy wouldn't let me out of the mistake reservation
Staff was excellent. Keola at front desk was great. Doorman Sui was OUTSTANDING and a great help! Best value in Waikiki.
Close to everything, walking distance to lots of waikiki Noisy at night
Rooms are very clean comfortable and look to have been updated. Good location near the shopping No view.
price was right. none
The staff is simply AMAZING!! Facilities are a little dated, but this seems to be the theme of many hotels in this particular area. Not the biggest deal. Wouldn't deter me from coming back.
An ideal hotel for those who look for want to be near to a well-known shopping centre i.e Ala Moana Shopping Centre and also Waikiki. Just walking distance to both and can save on transportation. Near to a fast food outlet for those with children. Located by the main road, one feels safe walking even at night. I enjoyed walking to the main shopping area where boutiques are aligned. I could have taken the Waikiki Trolley but I chose to walk as it was a manageable walking distance where my children also did not complain of being tired after doing so.
Great location Very basic amenities and room could use some sprucing up. Had roaches.
The staff is wonderful. Hotel is very good to excellent. nothing
photos are very misleading. my a/c just stopped working at 1am. I called the front desk, they tried to turn it on but it never came back on. they said there were no other rooms available. apparently it has happened before because the attendant made the remark that he thought they had fixed this problem. he brought me an oscalating fan that just circulated hot air. very unsatisfied.
The location is nice - and the views are beautiful. The hotel needs cleaning - it has roaches
Nice location and inexpensive. When we came down for breakfast, it was no food at all! The cleaning staff did not clean the bathroom. Towels were changed partially.
It was clean. The hotel did not have an elevator from the street level to the lobby. My wife has a difficult time climbing up and down stairs. She is handicapped. he room was small and there wasn't much room for suitcases.
The room smelled and it was not clean enought. The picture shown on the website does not reflect reality.
The facilities are quite attractive given the rate charged. This is a relatively small hotel located few 100 meters away from the beach; and at walking distance from Ala Moana Center. The room was clean and furnished as described. It had wired broadband Internet (but no wireless Internet), a TV, a phone (having a direct phone #), a mini-refrigerator, and a coffee-maker. The bathroom had a shower (no bathtub), a washbasin and a commode. The closet (which had a small safe inside) was also located inside the bathroom. Continental breakfast (included muffins, buns, fruits, coffee, milk, etc.) was made available around 8.00 AM each morning. The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
Prices are fair as well as competitive, room was clean, and (this is a biggie) very close to everything including the marina, restaurants, shopping and more. This was all within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool was small but still very nice and they carried the luggage to the bedroom without asking. I will be back! The room is a little small as is the hotel. There is a lack of amenities here but I suppose I'm ok with that as long as I don't have to pay a resort fee. Bathroom is a little tight and it is hard to lock the bathroom door. Also if you're not sleeping right by the AC then you will not feel it.
Comfortable room, good beds, nice view. Bath sink didn't drain, called but no one showed up to fix . TV remote useless, had to "channel up/down" always. Couldn't just enter channel number. Maid service doesn't get to the room till 3:30/4:00 PM. No room service available. $4 to call from room to a cell with a different area code.
The studio is close to Waikiki beach and shopping mall. Very convenient. The room is clean. Need much time to wait for elevators.
It was convenient. Easy to get into and out of. Parking was provided and adequate. The owners were helpful and kind. The elevator. It shook, rattled, and was slow. There are two elevators;one not working.A longtime resident told me it hadn't worked since he'd been there.Thee elevator broke down one evening forcing everyone to use the stairs.
