The staff very friendly (not overly so) and helpful. Ambience, delightful. The room charming and spacious If I were to be pinicky, the bacon was a little on the salty side for my taste ! (I dont use salt )
Food, Drink and Sex. Not neccesarily in that order!
This was a magnificent location and the staff and service was wonderful-
The food was fantastic, service was exemplarary. it wasn't a bad thing, but as we paid less for our room, we felt like it a bit in that our room was out on one of the wings near the conference centre.
Quite unique, in fact a very pleasant surprise
Everything, it was wonderful.
Ease of reach from airport, stunning venue, clean spacious accommodation
the polite and helpful staff and the attention to detail
Friendly helpful staff and the hotel is in lovely grounds with good access to Gatwick airport.
The Hotel was a mix of an older building and a more recent addition. Overall the Hotel was quiet, the staff when spoken to were polite. The room was spacious and well set out. Alas our stay was rather short? At check out time we found it rather slow as we had many others in line with us. Then a lady resident interjected the process which took the staff member away from check out duties for awhile until the resident was dealt with. Management should be more aware, and provided help to the yound man operating the check out desk at Mid Morning.
Just as advertised, comfortable and functional room at an affordable price, just a couple of minutes away from airport security as well as train station. The space available is quite tight, so don't expect to 'enjoy' it much (even though bed is very comfortable and shower is very nice), this is no leisure hotel, but rather 'get it done' style accommodation. After using the shower, the floor is wet so if you need to use the toilet after you'll be stepping on water and then out again onto the carpet. Again, functional but less than ideal. Maybe the floor should be slightly tilted in the shower so it drains/dries quicker.
it was IN the airport terminal The terminal is DEPRESSING. No WINDOWS! It’s like a little luxury prison cell. There was no private area in the hotel to do online work, went to one of the more human feeling pub-like restaurants.
Very comfy bed and very friendly staff! Shower wasn't separated from the rest of the bathroom, so the entire bathroom floor was soaked.
So convient in the south terminal at gatwick. Clean and everything you need for one night. Didn't hear any planes, which I was worried about.
Very friendly helpful staff, comfy bed, quiet room
It ddid what it said
comfort of room not enough coffee, tea
Convenient to train station and to town. Good clean hotel with comfortable beds
The location, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms are of a very good standard which leads to a very enjoyable stay plus the hotel staff are always very friendly. There wasn't anything we didn't like during our stay, the only thing would be some biscuits on the tea tray.
Overall value for money
In general I found the staff very friendly and helpful in particular on the 1st day of arrival. The lady was most helpful. On the 2nd day there was some confusion over a booking of a disabled room which for some reason may have been double booked. There was a change made I.E. original booking was for Sat and Sunday which was subsequently changed to Fri and Sun. It looks like the 1 st booking may not have been cancelled and I could have ended up paying for a non cancellation. I found it difficult to get this through to the receptionist on that particular day. Luckily I had put a spreadsheet of my booking references and cancellations together which helped resolve the situation. Lack of check out staff on the Sunday.
only stayed one night having to keep going to reception as no phone in room
Quiet, comfortable and convenient. No phone or internet service.
central location for station ,not to far from shops ,easy parking, very nice town, worth a visit no
The staff are some of the most helpful, and polite hotel staff I have ever met. We did have a couple of problems but most importantly these were all addressed and the outcome exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was fantastic, the grounds are beautiful and the building and setting is stunning. No
I loved being in the countryside and having our own little bit of garden and our dinner was excellent! The whole place was very relaxing with a lovely walk within the grounds of the hotel. It was a lovely place for a romantic weekend! I didn't like the chairs in our bit of garden - they weren't very comfortable.l
Beautiful old manor house and old stables turned into a delightful location. Beautiful garden and scenery. Close to Gatwick
The stay was very nice. Rooms were clean, comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. WiFi in rooms would be an improvement as I was there on business. Cell phone coverage was spotty as well.
The room size was excellent and the breakfast was very good. Considering the size of the room and the huge bed we were disappointed by the small pillows!
the grounds the village and surounding areas the proximity to Gatwick airport
Excellent and friendly staff. Large comfortable rooms. Some areas could do with a bit of modernising but don't let this detract from the quality offered.
Very attractive building & our room was spacious
Very enjoyable stay. Rooms are in a nicely converted stable yard 50 yards behind the pub. Good pub food.
Outstanding food, excellent accomodation, and naturally friendly service. None
The owners remembered we had stayed before and greeted us accordingly. Rooms are pleasingly clean. Room could do with a coat of paint and attention to the sqeaky bed is needed. However we did not tell the managers,as we didnt want to upset them! The rooms could be on the verge of sliding into the needing attention category and not the award winners of 2006. Please dont let this decent place decline.
We booked for our 20th Wedding Anniversary as a last minute luxury break, largely based on the the reviews and were not disappointed - everything was fabulous - even the weather! The high points were definitely the friendly, efficient staff, the amazing food and the lovely room - we will definitely return.
Excellent , food, service, cleanliness and comfort. Pleasant staff would go again.
High quality of fixtures, fittings and consumables in room Restaurant prices quite high
Comfortable bed, friendly, helpful staff, excellent food A little pricey
Excellent room and facilities. Good food. Very well looked after.
Friendly welcome and helpful staff, room was clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant was excellent.
There wasn't anything not to like. We arrived at 7.00 pm and left at 5.00 a.m. Did not like the restaurant. We booked a table and the food was not up to the standard we would have expected.
Convenient location on airport Price of room service breakfast
The Softel is less than five minutes walk from the Gatwick check-in desks via a slopped covered walkway. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere throughout warm and friendly. An excellent place to spent the before an early flight, I would definitely stay again.
location was why I selected this hotel. location was excellent Very expensive!
Ease of accessing the internet
Staff were friendly. Room very clean. Beds comfortable, not sagging in my middle as some are. Excellent location for Gatwick airport travellers. Good restaurants. Priced reasonably. They view! But cannot help that. But the large windows were nice.
Ease and access to airport None
The lovely atrium and the easy access to Gatwick airport together with helpful and friendly staff.
The best part was the access to the airport which allowed us to wake up and check in easily. The location was fantastic and the staff were very very helpful. Will definitely use this hotel everytime i am flying out of gatwick.
location to the terminal restaurant was expensive
The location is excellent. Staff were efficient but a little arrogant. Problems connecting to the internet in the room. The connection was very slow. The location of the room safe at floor-level is ridiculously inconvenient. The safe did not work. I'll try the Hilton next time.
Easy to access train from hotel, airport and city of London. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to a local mall.
The staff is very friendly and hard working The trains are very loud
close to station, high standrad of facilities, excellent food.
wide and clean room The reservation through Arora hotel web site does not work.
Charged for 2 breakfast but was alone. Should have asked me first before charging.
Easy to find location from website and is signposted when on the approaching road. Polite friendly staff and clean hotel.
Generally good, but WiFi sign in system a hassle and card swipe door keys real pain rarely if ever worked first time and usually took 3-4 tries at least.
the mattress and bedding was excellent paying for the parking
Clean and wide room very low water pressure from the tap
It's in a great central location, so you can go out in Crawley & eat/drink/shop etc. Even though it's next to the railway line, we didn't hear the trains. Hotel decoration lovely, very clean, very helpful staff and it has excellent facilities. Our room was very spacious & they'd thought of everything. En-suite was huge compared to other hotels, it had a separate bath & shower. Lots of thought had been put into the design & comfort of the room/hotel. Really pleased with the hotel & we'd definately stay there again, especially if we were taking our daughter, as there are connecting rooms. Also have a shuttle bus to Gatwick airport which is really close by, but again didn't hear any noise from the planes.
Convienent location Dreadfull catering & and catering staff
Location and staff very old decor in room and bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, missing towels and only one set of pillows were provided
Our reservation was not in the system. They did not give us access to Internet for our booking but we understood that free Internet would be included based on the booking criteria.
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We could only find one working ice machine in the hotel. The bed bugs we encountered weren't very pleasant either.
The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient! There could be a few more amenities to may the stay more memorable.
Location and very comfortable bef Everything is fine for me
Great location A little pricey!
The hotel is tired. Thankfully, I was upgraded to a newer room. Mattress is super hard. To get to the room, you must walk tons. The hotel needs serious renovation. Because options are limited for overnight flight.
Proximity to airport The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.
Restaurant way over priced. Not many options for a reasonable, casual meal.
The convenience of the location, the beds were very comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken when we arrived and the room was incredibly hot. The engineer was very nice and apologized quickly and requested a room change. It then took concierge a further hour to relocate us (10 rooms down the hall). At which point our children were completely starving and exhausted. The food in the garden restaurant buffet was mostly good, though expensive, but we were seated in a dark corner because we were a family, where the staff were already setting the tables for breakfast around us. Service was polite but very slow and waiters were unaware of the fact that children ate for free.
restful & quiet atmosphere, giving us time to unwind after a hectic 6week tour of the U.K.. Staff were helpful & very pleasant,& food was great.
the room was clean and tidy on arriving at the hotel you have to pay for your car parking even for the time you are staying in the hotel. The hotel even those it has a 4 star rating there is no one to take your bags and show you to your room
Very close to Gatwick Airport. Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice hotel. As window didn't open, had to leave air conditioning on all night which was very noisy, so didn't sleep very well.
TV control doesn't work
Absolutely aweful service, terrible customer relations, poor food.. no choice. Room service was a joke! Had to help other customers...
The room was very clean and comfortable. The que for checking in was quite long and we waited a while.
Convenient location Noise of air conditioning system, inability to get fresh air into room, always having to wait for attention at reception
very clean / friendly staff limited wine list that was overly expensive.
Location poor from airport ....No Air con in rooms and windows couldnt open .Water cold in shower ...a dreadful experience for a Ramada Hotel .
First time I have had to pay for a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The whole point in staying near the hotel is that normally you get free courtesy transport
It was fair stay but not comfortable......the service must improve ...also the menu must be changed and finally the stafff must inform their customers about the breakfast time,we asked the reception and they said breakfast is served till 10.30pm and when we came down at 9.30..they advsied that it's finished... service and menu....
Very close to airport Lack of check in service
The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. Food was good and rooms comfortable and clean.
The location is great, rooms clean and staff helpful. Waiting for the lifts became quite a pain. I was lucky on the 2nd floor so could take the stairs, but even at 5am it was difficult. Wanted to try the restaurant too, but very busy - would have had to wait over an hour - lucky there's lots nearby or across at the south terminal.
Ease of getting around, helpful and friendly staff, generally quiet location
Lovely boutique hotel, clean, fresh with lots of character, will stay again.
friendliness of staff and Pub down stairs. I suggest people choose the continental breakfast!
I liked the convenient airport transportation. Relaxing and friendly lounge in which to have a drink. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Great place to stay to catch a flight at Gatwick. No complaints.
Easy access to the airport with complimentary shuttle to and from. A nice breakfast included with room price.
The young man who picked me up at the airport and checked me in was extremely helpful in pointing me toward some of the nearby sights I would otherwise have missed. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and just all-around nice. I loved the community, and the hotel's location, and the convenience of the airport transfers made entire visit outstanding. I would absolutely stay there again, and would highly recommend to others.
Since we didn't need to use their 5 GBP shuttle service to Gatwick, their price was goodl. Bar nice but empty, did not try the food. Proximity to Six Bells pub was the best feature. Parking tight and tricky.
An excellent hotel. Superb location with a fabulous atmosphere. Great staff.
easy access to gatwick airport with pick up/drop off by the hotel. after europe did find it rather expensive to eat and bar prices very high, but this is england!
Very reasonably priced.
Location Near Airport, Bar Meals Available, Free Transport Pick Up Just Pay £4 pp For Hoppa Bus Return To Airport.Very Reasonable Hotel Stopover All Round Good Value Airport Overnight Hotel.
Although we didn't use the car parking facility, it is very good value for momey. The shuttle bus was on time, clean and convenient. The bar prices were expensive. We had to carry all our luggage for a two week holiday upstairs as there was no lift
nice big rooms Reception staff could of been better, they put me in the wrong room twice!
Large clean rooms with good facilities and hotel was easy to find.
It had a quiet peaceful atmosphere and is reasonably close to the airport
I Parking was next to impossible because of the number of cars belonging to people using Gatwick, cars were coming and going at all hours. Had I known it was a Gatwick Parking hotel I would have gone elsewhere. The hotel advertising should indicate that their main guests were people travelling through Gatwick.
ease of check in and airport transfers stairs to rooms
I liked nothing about the hotel. The staff on arrival where rude and un friendly. The staffs attitude. We booked a meet and greet and ended up waiting a further 20 minutes for my car to turn up. This was even when we contacted them as soon as we had landed.
Very conveniently located and food was good. When we first checked in, the TV didn't work and it was no trouble for staff to change us to another room - we were staying 4 nights. Mattress on our bed was not comfortable and bed creaked every time we moved - not good for a mature couple.
Close proximity to Gatwick Airport pleasant reception area to relax after a long journey Poor reception on TV in rooms.I had 2 rooms and had travelled for more than 2 hours and we all wanted to unwind before eating
Good facilities, friendly and helpfull staff.
leisure facilities room too hot
I was very impressed with this hotel. It was a joy to see that the photo's on the website were not misleading and the setting was amazing.
very attractive hotel, room was very nice and clean, room service food was good, great price was not informed when i booked that the pool etc is only for over 18s except for a few hours a week - my son had been looking forward to swimming, would suggest that they put a couple of hours a day aside for under 18s staying at the hotel
The Hotel is very comfortable and the gardens are lovely. The Staff were helpful and efficient but you never felt that your privacy was invaded by them.
All round excellent. Clean, modern facilities in a period building that still retains its character. Excellent gym and pool. Best was the staff - when the PCs went down in the business centre I was offered use of the computer behind the reception. It's a pity I wasn't there in daylight so coundn't enjoy the lovely gardens.
Charge for WIFI internet access. Many hotels, some much smaller, do not charge.
Nice rural location in a nice building I feel that the rooms are a little of a let down for the price and setting. Fairly basic rooms a valence sheet to cover the divan base would appear the appearance of the room. Bathroom was clean but lacked a fresh feel to it.
Loads of character, beautiful gardens and helpful staff. Dinner service is mainly for conferences and not so good for solo diners. Expensive.
Early check in, location was great Bed was quite soft. Check out time was 10.30 which was quite early.
