How much is a Tesla car rental in Huntsville?

When I select a specific airport I do not expect the reservation to be switched to a satellite rental office 30 minutes away from the airport and then be told by your customer service that there is absolutely nothing that can be done. Time, effort, money, and stress added to travel is not something that is needed. In the event I consider using your services again I’ve requested friends to brain me with a heavy object. This state would be preferable to trying to the nonsense I experienced.

Pros:

I like the offer of picking up the vehicle a day early for free and the free upgrade.

Cons:

Cleanliness of the vehicle...smelled of smoke and no covid19 assurances as in the commercial, in fact it wasn’t even addressed by the agent until I asked.

We were expecting a midsize vehicle, but when we arrived all they had was a minivan. I was concerned about it getting terrible gas mileage and being bigger than we needed, but it worked out alright. It was comfortable for the 2 weeks we had it and the gas wasn't as good as we would have liked, but we enjoyed the space and comfort for the amount of time we spent on the road.

Cons:

I reserved a car online, and flew 800 miles . But when i arrived they told me i was not eligible to rent because of a deductible in 2004. Something I still have no knowledge of. Also poor customer service in Huntsville. Alabama.

Cons:

The Lin’s seemed to move slow when I was picking up the car. There was only one person in front of me and it took a good 10 minutes to get me through the line. I’ve always thought car rental companies should pay attention to that metric. The last thing someone wants to be doing after a long airline flight is wait in a slow moving line.

Cons:

The vehicles in my area were advertised falsely. When I arrived to Alamo to pick up the vehicle I found on Kayak, they told me no cars had been available for weeks and had no idea why I found otherwise. Kayak should follow this up. These types of issues can create unnecessary stress for travelers.

Cons:

The car smelled terrible like smoke. That’s not good when it’s 97 degrees out and you have to have windows closed with air on. It gave me a terrible headache.

Pros:

Car rental staff was nice, the location can't be beat--just get off the down escalator right by Baggage Claim and there it is!

Cons:

Renters were at the mercy of whoever looked at the long list of reservations and did not authorize delivering more cars for rental until an SOS from the desk staff. Waited over an hour for cars to be available so they could rent them--NOT professional at all and very unhappy customers!

Cons:

I arrived to pick up my car and was informed that they had no reservation for me. The insurance I purchased I was charged for. But the reservation charge never went through. I ended up having to just book another car from a different provider across town.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
