Cons:

Waited hour and a half to be told they couldn’t rent us the vehicle due to mechanical issue. Shouldn’t this have been checked upon previous return?

Cons:

Prepaid 5 days in advance and did not receive the car class reserved. Reserved full sized truck and received a compact suv. Customer service was poor. Waited 15 minutes at counter for employee to return.

Pros:

I liked that when I landed in Killeen, Texas I was able to take care of all the paperwork and get my car keys right next to the luggage pick up site while I waited for my bags. The car was well maintained and the price i was charged was reasonable. Dropping it off did not really present any hassle either.

Nothing the car was so small . Stood there waiting on a rep for about 20 mins . They charged us twice for the rental an still have not been reimbursed . I will never go there again . Horrible service

Cons:

I had reserved a car that was listed as a Ford Escort, or similar. No big deal. My beater car is an escort and it has a big trunk. When I arrived to pick up my rental, they had two cars to choose from. Both of which were hatchbacks with very limited space for luggage/cargo. I expressed my disappointment with them considering there were probably 50 cars on the Hertz lot, but none of them were for rental as they were for sale. They couldn't even upgrade me to a larger vehicle because there weren't any available. I declined the rental and asked for my $36 insurance refund and they said I would have to go through Kayak to get the refund. I know it was Thanksgiving weekend, and cars were scarce, but they should advertise if it is a hatchback or a regular car.

The Mazda XS-30 was very comfortable with good gas mileage

Cons:

I reserved a mid size SUV and the car I received was actually a small crossover.

Pros:

It was a quick in and out, both picking up and dropping off. The person I dealt with was very pleasant.

Cons:

The instructions on the documentation on how to complete the transaction when dropping off the car were inaccurate. It talked about a drop box, but there was none. It did not mention whether to leave the keys in the car or not.

I reserved a rental car at AVIS through KAYAK. Then had someone drive me an hour to find that they had no rental cars available. Could not find a rental from any agency within two hours of my location in central Texas. I ended up renting a 20 foot UHAUL truck for $300 plus another $100 in gas just to drive 6 hours away. Maybe I dont understand how reservations work, but this experience has not been great from KAYAK or AVIS. My recommendation would be to skip KAYAK then just call rental car companies from the location you are going. A reservation number from the rental company is almost always guaranteed. A reservation from KAYAK or some other 3rd party deal finder is not guaranteed. Good luck.

Had a little difficult time locating the car. Wish there was an attendant outside to assist.
