The place is extremely clean to be a dated and aged hotel The gym was a joke. You actually have to follow a tiny hallway walk outside past the pool down a set of stairs to see a universal machine, old school bike that uses a fan (shaking my head) and tiny cheap treadmill. My personal scenic view was to several old residential apartment buildings that resemble projects. The bed wasn't just firm; it felt like a futon mattress (even though it was thick). My buddies rooms were similar. My best friend upgraded to a suite and for the extra 40 bucks a night, his room had a living room with a 1970's couch and an extra restroom. Upon checking out, the front desk made me stay an extra 10 minutes while they inspected my room for damage and if I consumed products from the bar. Needless to say that I didn't enjoy my stay. I booked this place based off of stars for quality and the photos which gave it the appeal. BTW: You're no where near walking to the new casinos on either side of the river. You'll have to take a cab.
peaceful beautiful surroundings. European feeling.
The location is excellent. We stayed at the delux room, overlooking the sea. It's two minute walk from the beach. The beach was quiet too. They were generally ok. The staff seemed to have some attitude to Chinese. I went with my American bf and they definately treated him differently. Some amenities in the room didn't work. The Jacuzzi didn't work and it took them 2 people plue 20 mins to fix it. The toliet seat was broken (unattached). Also, the toliet was just right next to the jacuzzi. The whole place just needs some maintenance.
I appreciated the quietness of the place. It was also a good opportunity to discover Coloane, far away from casino ambiance. Food is excellent and meals in terrace with seaview are great. The kids enjoyed the pool, the giant jacuzzi in the room, and also an escapade in Coloane and in the park near the hotel (little electric-cars and big playground). You can also practise hiking just around. Everything was ok. But, in case of dust allergy, forget this place (wooden macanese style pieces of furniture). In case of shopping addiction, you need to reach Taipa or main island (nothing around)
near the beach area, loved the food, great staff, loved the jacuzzi, great relaxation no complaints
Due to refurbishments and bookings it was nice of the hotel to upgrade me to one of the Executive Rooms. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, good for both leisure and business travellers. There was some problems with the sound of the LCD TV. Breakfast was confusing as I didn't know if it was available. The food available was average.
the room is big, comfort, location not so far to downtown
Its location is excellent for our needs and leisure. Room is spacious. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Guard could not speak nor understand English but anyway front desk officers could.
The staff were friendly and accomodating when we checked in very late at about 11.30pm. My mother was in wheel chair and they provided the room with the same level for breakfast. Breakfast is a simple but decent affair. However on the 2nd day, my parents received the a letter telling them that there may be blackout in their room as they are currently doing some renovation work and they offer another room at one level down and at the same time upgraded the room for them. Overall, decent hotel for a city break.
The bed was harder than the carpeted floor. The internal broadcasted music at the corridor was so loud, can hear it even in the room.
Hotel staffs didn't serve me good services. And the payment procedure by credit card is sophisticated.
English knowledge, made mistake about the room type, noisy works improvements
The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very minimum on hotel standard, no much choice of food. We should be informed about the breakfast standard of the hotel at the time of booking, so we can decide properly whether or not to book the room with breakfast included.
The room is appropriately nice but a tad too expensive. Staff rudeness and lack of knowledge and answering the usual rehearsed answers no matter what the question or request.
the location is quite good actually... could be better if there is some sign board leading us to go the hotel..
Close walk to the tourist trap and zoo that is Senando Square. I like the fact that it is located in a real neighborhood where locals live instead of the fake Disney-like casino areas. Noisy and rude mainlanders (what's new?) made would be an enjoyable experience horrible. Had to call front desk twice to get them to tell them to shut up. First time I called it didn't seem to work. Second time I got someone who couldn't speak English unlike the previous guy. Had to go downstairs and muster up my limited Chinese to tell him what is going on. He told them to be quiet but they continued afterwards. This place needs to always have someone on duty who can speak English and Chinese!
location is excellent, near the historical centre of macau; food places are plentiful and nearby; taking bus is convenient to several places including to the macau exit point. i don't mind to stay there again, recommendable to others... i cannot think of anything i dislike....
clean and cheap not easy to get a Taxi during traffic hour
nothing for a hotel of this sort its very pricey n their attitude very bad(take it or leave it,no compromise things are like that) When i discover room light bulb blown as it was dark i requested if they cud fix it, frontdesk replied they fix it when available. I was wondering if that bulb cud hav been blown for long time n suckers like me had to put up with it. Bathroom choked when i took shower. This time i dont bother to inform them since they dont treasure customers.
The location is near the street so it will be easier to catch a bus, taxi, or shuttle. Walking distance to senado square and ruin of st. Paul. The room is small but it's clean. Safe deposit box are not available in the room
The hotel is walking distance to most tourist destinations such as Sofitel, Senado Square and ruins of St. Paul. The hotel room is fair enough, it's clean but the shower room is very small and their hotel rates are little expensive.
Our room was clean, spotless and modern, with a few extras that we never expected like the slippers, toothbrushes, comb etc only a slight let down was the receptionist did not understand much english so we could not ask much about the area things to do etc.
Price Time of breakfast (8:30 start!) and spartan rooms with no double bed
It has excellent location, very close to Porte 16 which means there are lots of small streets full of local restaurant and cafe for you to explore. Also close to the city centre. Generally clean and comfy. Room size is way smaller than we expected from the photos. We also lost our patience to wait for a hair dryer for more than 1 hour, so we just had to go to the counter and take it ourselves.
Location, very accessible to other places. difficulty in communicating (english) with staff.
Value for money excellant service highly recommended with super staff Free shuttlt bus has one stop only that is to fairy port
The design of the bathroom is really special, particularly suitable for couples. The LCD television is also appreciated. The view outside the room. Nothing special to see.
I particularly like the room - tasteful lay out and great comfort. The renovation noise and the ever crowded lobby!!
The hotel was nice and inexpensive. Staff was helpful and polite. Swimming pool was closed because of winter (altough it was about +25 degrees...)
Great location and value for the money, free shuttle from ferry. Gym and Pool;
Free upgrade to the suite. The room looks good however, there is some smell that make me feel uneasy...
our room was decently clean. staff was oaky but there was this particular doorman who likes to smile a lot..he courteously greets the guests. He helps carry baggages of arriving and leaving guests. I think his name is "jim". One of the friendly staff members of the hotel. Unlike on the other hotel we stayed in, we had to remind the front officer that we need someone to assist us with our baggages. no free bottles of water for guests, don't like the room slippers made of plastic material
the hotel is far form the city center, schuttle bus run every 30 min. to the ferry always full.
The room is really big, clean, good smell even its smoker room ! the bathroom is awsome, huge beautiful bath tube... really good value for money
Reception staff was helpful. Room was excellent with a good view of Macau jockey club. Free shuttle service to Macau ferry terminal was very convenient. Curreny exchange available nearby. McDonald's and Pizza hut in the vicinity (fifteen minutes walk).
clean room, location
Price worth for the services Too noicy as there are always group tour members
Nice older hotel with good facilities, friendly staff and excellent Chinese restaurant in the lobby. Also, Guia Hill area is a very nice area of Macau to walk and explore the real Macau, not the casinos. I will stay there again. There is a pervading musty smell in the hotel.
Hotel is situated on the hill and room with a balcony offered a good view of the city at night. District is godo as well, with a UN building and various schools around. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped us to call places to find a forgotten camera. Internet is free in the room. Snacks and water in the room are priced like in convenience stores (cheap). TV offers international channels. Great and inexpensive dimsum restaurant on premises. For those wishing to spicy up evenings, there is a night club in the ground floor with strip-tease show and more. Breakfast option is limited to dim-sum restaurant. While making absolutely great dim-sum, this is not the best breakfast option. Guests may want to chose to go to a nearby Hotel Royal for Chinese/western breakfast buffet (HK120). Location is not ideal for visiting the city, since you'll need a shuttle or taxi to reach most of city destinations. Arriving to the hotel by taxi, make sure you have it's Chinese name written on a paper and show this to the driver, otherwise the driver won't understand where to go.
Facilities to view the Macau GP from the roof Rooms could do with being refurbished. No automated way of paying credit card (manual slips and call to CC company). Charge for instant coffee. Checking out procedure took a long time as they check mini bar. If I ever stay there again I will ask for the Bar to be emptied
I lik the location of the hotel bcause it is on Guia Hill, the highest part of Macao and besides Guia Hill is also historic.
Good location near the old town. Friendly and helpful front desk/porter Very poor quality of the room, not clean or comfortable. Room not as shown on booking.com. Front desk admitted the poor quality of the standard room and tried to get us to upgrade to the refurbished rooms for an additional $280. This is false advertising, as it is clearly not what i expected when i booked and paid. If you're booking a standard room based on the pictures, then deduct 2 stars from your expectations.
No Cleanliness of the room & room Facilities
good price, nice staff old rooms
The hotel staff was fantastic & also the room out side view was also fabulos
The location is pretty nice, it's a 5 minute walk to the downtown area. My room was lacking basic items like bath towels, hair dryer, coffee, soap, etc. When I requested towels from the front desk they sent someone up and gave me 2 floor mats.
The hotel is conveniently located, across from the Macau Airport terminal. Easy in, easy out for those who fly. The only hotel in the Macau airport. For those who want to travel to Macau or Taipa casinos, there are plenty of free Casino shuttles at the airport that you can take advantage of. The hotel is generally clean, quiet, and well maintained. My only beef is with the breakfast, which is far below the standard for a hotel of 3/5 stars, especially at $xxx/person
Lighting in the room
The place is convenient to the shopping and eating place. It is very near to Senado and other tourist spots. I hope that the Customer Relation officer can speak English better so the guest can understand or communicate better.
Great hotel localtion provides an excellent view of the city and easy access to public transport. Small lobby space
i like how spacious the room was. i also like its location. a lot. one, it has an old building smell. i had rhinitis during our stay. two, it didn't have any windows. three, room service didn't know how to speak English so she hung up on me when i called.
best location best location near major casino and most attractive visitor places
Room was clean and rate is cheaper compared to other hotels of the same level. uncomfortable/firm bed
location requested non smoking but was not provided
The hotel is accessible to tourist spots. None.
the free shuttle bus service to the feery terminal the rooms are very comfortable and clean
Excellent location. old. Need upgrade
