This is a neglected property. The gen. Manager should feel lucky to still have a job. Hairs in the bed. Public bathrooms filthy and falling apart. Box almaden wine $6 a glass in the 70's disco bar
THE LOCATION WAS CONVENIENT THERE WAS FRESH BLOOD ON THE SHEETS AND MATTRESS PAD OF ONE OF THE BEDS IN MY ROOM. HOUSEKEEPING WAS VERY GOOD ABOUT IT BUT IT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. THERE WERE NO BATH TOWELS AVAILABLE FOR 2 OUT OF THE 3 DAYS I WAS THERE. POOL CLOSED AT 8:00 AND WE WERE TOLD IT WAS DUE TO NO POOL LIGHTS, IT STAYS LIGHT OUT UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 9:00. WE WERE IN TOWN FOR A SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE FOR THE KIDS TO BE ABLE TO USE THE POOL WHEN WE GOT BACK TO THE HOTEL. OUTSIDE DOORS SHOULD BE LOCKED AT ALL TIMES FOR SECURITY PURPOSES AND ALMOST NONE OF THEM LOCKED.
Hallways and the single elevator reeked of smoke. We booked a king bed, but were given a room with two doubles. Front desk said they had nothing else available, and that the particular room we were given showed up in their systems as being a king-bed. Poor sound proofing -- could hear neighbors and people in the hallway very clearly in the early morning. Seems like a hotel that pours all its money into the event facilities (entrance, lobby, and conference rooms all very nice) but dedicates very little funds toward the actual rooms themselves.
The hotel is so run down, that you have a panic attack until you reach your room. The room is clean and tidy and, I suppose, re-furbished in the last 2-3 years. It's a complete maze getting to and from your room if you take the elevator, so def take the stairs if you can.
Friendly staff The breakfast was not very good. The restaurant area was a mess. Jams bowl empty, fruit bowl empty, and cluttered. The bandaids as a solution over the peepholes on the door bring the entire hotel and sense of professionalism of the facility way down. There must be better solutions.
Checking OUT! Worst service ever! Reserved a room with king & sofa bed, but got no sofa bed. Manager was very rude! Had to sleep 3 adults in 1 bed. No fresh towels for next day. Upon return to room, had to ask twice and took two hrs til we could take a shower with clean towels. WIFI did not work! Breakfast eggs & sausage ice cold. All dining tables dirty and no clean silverware and it was only 6:30. Very very disappointed!!!
Friendly, accommodating staff. Easily accessible. Shopping and food very close by. Plentiful parking. It feels pretty old. That said it's mostly pretty clean and doesn't feel "run down" insofar as it shows its age.
Location is easy on, easy off I 84. This is an outdated Inn with poor beds and sheets. Cleanliness is so-so, with hairs in tub and on floor. Nasal tissues very cheap. With so many options nearby, we suggest you chose one of them.
This is an outdated Inn with poor beds and sheets. Cleanliness is so-so. With so many options nearby, we suggest you chose one of them. Everything definitely needs upgrading. Although, the A/C worked. But, then again, you get what you pay for. Can't beat $65 a night for just a place to lay your head after attending parties all weekend.
Location for being close to wedding location was good. Bed was acceptable no hot water in two rooms no working phones in two room (entire hotel) no key for in room safe no response to calling desk from cellphone no response after Kayak/GetARoom called to get hot water fixed had to leave for another hotel to shower and get ready before the wedding. waste of money.
close to highway, price Toilet was dirty Rooms were not cleaned/straightened no refrigerator when told there was one no remote for the television Was told that could not make any promises on getting these things fixed as the person who takes care of these items would be leaving at 4pm and it was 3:50pm Will never stay here again or recommend.
The service at the front desk They moved us from room to room very abruptly and rudely. The power went out. They made us walk through a soaking wet hallway to our new room. Not a pleasant experience
Nice place to stay for the night. I'd stay here again if I am taking the train to the city. A bit pricey, but nice.
There were TWO ESPN 2 channels and no ESPN channel. I missed second half of a game I really wanted to watch and the front desk gave me a completely wrong channel when I asked. Also, provide a CURRENT TV channel lineup in your in room book. This completely ruined what may have been a perfectly good stay. Can't read this. I suggest you use larger font.
The people were so friendly and engaging. I felt safe as a lone traveler. Would be healthier if they had yogurt and/or eggs for protein for Breakfast. Ran out of energy early.
THE BED!!!! How the room was poorly designed - door wise/stopper and the tub and it's water
The best part of the stay was the help. Dwight & Kadeem at the front desk went out of their way to make our stay great!! The breakfast was mediocre; we went to the diner down the road. Also rooms are only for sleeping extremely small.
Location and price Small room, no fridge, lot of noise.
The overall hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. A good location for a night or two stay. Also the breakfast was actually quite good. The bed, it was not comfortable and sunk down to much.
Location to West Point! Great diner just below hotel. Nice staff. Room had everything we needed. Room was on second floor with window view behind hotel. Heard some road noise from I-87 but not a big deal. (The train noise at the Thayer is much worse.) Slept great. Its not a luxury hotel -- but you're not paying luxury prices either.
I was attending a wedding and needed a hotel to stay. I arrived and found it to have a great view of a lake, right in front of the hotel. Upon entering the hotel, it looks new and modern, our rooms were well kept, large and beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay and recommend to others. Extended stay was only until 12PM. I was attending a wedding and got back to the hotel at 5AM, hard to get only a few hours of sleep to drive back, I was hoping for an hour more of sleep :D
Nice staff. Prompt shuttle service from airport.
We were exhausted from a cross-country trip bringing our son to college and were so grateful to find the beautiful Hyatt House Fishkill. It's very conveniently located off the freeway, close to shops and restaurants and is so comfortable and fresh. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had and the staff was so friendly and helpful. This is our new go-to hotel on road trips to visit our son!
I wish breakfast lasted longer
location was convenient 1. No Bellhop in the lobby to carry the luggage. 2. The fixtures in the room seems dated 3. Hotel could use a face lift. 4.
Breakfast was great, room was clean, staff was nice. I didn't like that the site I booked through showed pictures of amenities the hotel did not have.
Good rate (non-refundable). Very clean and well-maintained. Excellent breakfast - best free hotel breakfast I've ever seen. Very attentive staff; Most everyone I saw said hello or asked how I was. Well-rounded on-site facilities: pool, exercise, bistro, small food shop A little difficult to find
I did not feel like KAYAK adequately represented the pet fee charge at the Hyatt House. KAYAK lists "pet friendly" as if it is an amenity, like cable tv, breakfast, or a swimming pool. We choose to stay at the Hyatt House based on them being pet friendly. Little did we know that we were going to be charged $75 for having our pet with us during our stay. Upon review this information was available at the Hyatt House website, however it was not included in the KAYAK description. KAYAK would be better serving its customers by including this information. Thanks
Great reception at front desk - thank you, Ryan!
Everything was clean and they had the best price in the area with great amenities. I w would recommend for anybody wanting to stay in the area. Some of the furniture were slightly broken or had a bit of wear on them but I didn't mind because I didn't use them at all.
Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Hotel is in an area close to restaurants and shopping. Area seemed safe for walking around.
Free wifi, nice desk setup, plenty of easily accessible power outlets. Stains on the curtains, stains on the office chair, a little gross but working in emergency medicine makes you pretty tolerant of gross things. I laid down towels on seating surfaces so as not to gag. Never saw a maid so never got a chance to mention it.
It was quiet The room was dirty I stepped on a nail from the carpet ....wholes in the carpet in the room and hallways.....was not a fan of their breakfast they refused to change our room when my daughter and I had some sort of allergic reaction to something in the room .....we were find everywhere else we went but when we got bk to the room ...sneezing itching watery eyes short of breath really thankful I packed meds ....large cobwebs in the ceiling corners ...beds were very uncomfortable
This is a good place to stay for a night or two in the area, and is good value for money. It's not luxurious, but practical. The location can be a bit tricky for getting to some places not on I-84.
Stepping into front door strong mildew odor ,remote to TV was filthy not sure but looked like buggers on buttons
The front desk staff was helpful and apologetic Everything The room had a mystery wet section of carpet. It was so damp it was like staying in a basement. Carpet dirty shower curtain torn lampshades torn- this was the room they switched us to. The first reeked of cigarettes despite the large no smoking. There was no manager on the oremises. We only stayed 1 of our 3 nights and moved to the Hiktin Garden Inn across the street which was lovely
Contemporary and well decorated. Manicured grounds. Rooms very comfortable with modern conveniences. Bistro in the lobby had skeleton staff on a Saturday night. Must order food at the bar. Food is essentially snacks or heated sandwiches. The breakfast hours ended at 10 a.m. Sunday which was not made clear to me when checking in.
N/a It was not worth the price
Beds were OK. Lots of room inside suite. Exterior is really run down. Paid way too much for what we got.
The hotel was clean, but very run down. Bed was crooked, pillows were too little and cheaply filled. Appliances were old. Could hear people outside all night.
The room was conveniently located to food, gas and right off of the main highway. Front Desk was rude on first call, placed on hold for 8 mins, had to repeat myself. Booked online then
Front desk staff incredibly helpful. Best mattress in any hotel. Broke switch on heat lamp.
Nice to be able to have space for the kids and some space left for my wife and I. Breakfast is nice too, and makes the stay a better value. (Breakfast would probably run us $40-&50 elsewhere) A little outdated, but it seems they're addressing this as it appears a number of units are being updated
Found a good deal at the last minute. Breakfast bacon was odd.
This was a low income housing project. I counted on your review and got burnt for doing so. Immediately went to Walmart to get room spray and febreeze. The room smelt of fried food...awful! I also purchased 2 pillows and 2 blankets so I did not have to sleep in the bed. The whole stay was just horrible, did not sleep at all. The grounds were filthy and you can immediately see that low income families were living here, kids were playing around the grounds, just horrible. Thanks for looking out for my best interest, just glad I did not have to have a client meet me here.
we stayed at the best western for vassar college parent's weekend. it was the perfect location to go back and forth to campus. the room was big and comfortable and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. i would stay there again!
Reception was very friendly, gave us a credit, and did pretend to try to move us. Didn't hold reservation and gave us downgraded room. TV reception terrible "because of the rain". TV remote did not work. AC barely worked. Tub drain broken. Breakfast was minimal and low quality. Shabby, old interiors.
The staff member working in the morning was great. She was personable, helpful, checked on specifics of our stay, and apologized for the mistakes that were made. Also, the breakfast was great-lots of choices. The person on staff when we checked in was NOT very friendly, and did not offer information. I had to ask about the evening reception, which I found out about when my confirmation email was sent to me. I had requested extra towels, which we did not receive. Also, my bill did not reflect my kayak rate. I was charged the regular Best Western rate. When I pointed it out, the morning staff person did get it corrected.
Wonderful; staff, clean room
We loved the quaintness and the variety of things to do on the property.
Property is beautiful on Hudson River. Trails to walk. Buttermilk Falls, orchards, farming and animals yet a modern, relaxing spa with indoor pool against entire wall of windows and beautiful views. Our room exceeded expectation as did the breakfast. A few areas have been neglected--our balcony lots of chipping paint, bench by the Falls was unusable and would be nice to sit by Falls if it was repaired.
Location, Staff The room had a slight musty smell from old area rugs.
Nothing really The room is the size of a shoebox. This isn't a hotel its glorified bed and breakfast
We stayed here a few years ago, and they've definitely been upgrading. The rooms and the hotel are much nicer than I remember. The front desk staff was really welcoming and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient. The complimentary breakfast is really bad. Wedged in a back ballroom, everything was cold and half-hearted. It took forever to have basics like cream and water pitchers refilled. There are tons of great diners in the area. It's definitely worth venturing out and paying elsewhere.
The bar was great... Front desk, great...rooms, nice...overall, nice... Could be better The attention to detail seemed lost... Dings, dents, bad painting..... Basic hotel upkeep seemed lacking...
Heating system out dated I couldn't. Get a double bed room
The price was good, the staff was friendly and attentive. It's very old and not too appealing. They are going through construction too, so it may look better once that is completed. When we were there the second day we lost cable connection. Not a huge deal, but kind of stinks. We also had an old fashion TV, don't expect any upgrades or updates with this date hotel.
We had made a mistake with our online reservation and the hotel manager helped us to resolve it. The TV needs to be mounted a little higher on the wall
It was disgusting.
A bit rundown
Decent room and wifi Staff guy was very rude and then waved at my girlfriend with extremely offensive comment to me after I booked my room with credit card he waited to wave at my girlfriend after we parked never will I go back or suggest anyone to go back for that reason
Good location Good price Room service didn't bang on my door at 6am. Wifi in the part of the hotel I was in was pretty much no functional. Patio door on the ground floor had seen some better days. Room was clean. No sign of bedbugs or roaches, but did spot a house centipede near the above mentioned patio door.
Close to the north way Musty and dated
They were terrible people, only guy I liked worked the over night, owner was rude; hated the experience
Hallway smelled really bad
The continental breakfast was OK. However, could have had blueberries and bananas to put on the waffles. Clerks never smiled. They appeared to not like their job. They just went through the motions. Bathroom was not cleaned well. Long hair and cheetos on floor. Soap scum on counter top. Tub drain clogged. Bathroom sink drain slow.
Very poor condition. Door hardware loose and in disrepair. Heavy smell of cleaning chemicals. Very worn ot building.
The staff was excellent. It was a little dated.

Room was large and clean with expected amenities. Breakfast was very good. Fruit available in lobby. Popcorn sometimes available in lobby. Convenient to Beacon, NY. Signage to get to the hotel was poor. Hampton Inn located far behind a Ramada hotel and very few signs indicated where the Hampton Inn was located. A mad-house at breakfast. Huge price increase on weekend.
Hotel staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel's location is a little strange being place behind the more seedy looking hotel. Overall, great experience! The hotel's location is a little strange being place behind the more seedy looking hotel ... Obviously, I understand the hotel cannot be moved, so not really any suggestions here.
Very friendly staff. Complimentary bananas, tea, and coffee at all hours! Too bad the pool was closed, but they did offer passes to a nearby pool.

Clean and Friendly staff indoor pool too cold
The staff at front desk was very friendly and the breakfast was great. It had all the amenities that you would expect from a good hotel.
beds more comfortable than Residence Inn down the road. More breakfast options and the staff is really helpful. n/a
Very clean, great location right off I84 They hold 50 something $ for few days on cc!
Customer service was great - comped us on beer, very friendly, very helpful (everyone) Fresh cute lobby decor Great bed and bedding, lots of space in room (typical of Starwood hotels) Nothing!
Really enjoyed it. Very clean, comfortable bed. I would stay again
First time at this location, previously stays were at Newbrgh location that was recently sold. Not as convienent as Newburgh location for my needs.
Quiet rooms....no heavy doors slamming. Very pleasant, efficient staff. Very well appointed, welcoming lobby. Liked it all !
Liked the swimming pool and spa. Was quite.
The room was neat and clean Even my husband commented on the cleanliness of the bathroom!
I enjoy my stay but it was only one little thing The only thing I did not like of my staying in the hotel was that I needed to change my room because showerhead was broke and the maintenance was not there to fix it.. they only come once at day in the morining.. ..
Very family friendly. Great location for the graduation of our CIA student. Beds very comfortable, room more than adequate for a group of 5 people. Very clean, friendly service, especially from the night staff lady, Melvena, she is an absolute professional, and very welcoming to strangers from the midwest. She made us feel right at home. She took pride in her job, and we thanked her for it by informing her boss of the excellent care we received from her.
The hotel was a good value. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the property was clean. Additionally, the hotel was only a short drive from the CIA. The property has seen better days. The bathroom door in our room didn't latch. The exterior security door near our room opened without scanning a room key. While the hotel is a smoke-free facility, smoke was always present in stairways and hallways. Additionally, the property does not have an elevator. Travelers should request a room on the first floor, otherwise you'll be carrying your luggage up and down stairs.
I was skeptical but it was clean and did the trick for a night passing through. Staff was friendly. Sheets and pillow cases smelled fresh. I work in hotels so I'm picky and know what do look for. But the room I stayed in was clean. Can't speak for the rest. The bed was firm but some people like it. The walls are thin. I could hear others accessing their room and it almost sounded like they were coming in my room. But none of this is the hotels fault. They are doing a good job with what they have.
Absolutely nothing. It smelled bad, our room wasn't clean, the wall paper was peeling, the bathroom wasn't cleaned, there were holes in the carpet. It was disgusting. We found another hotel and walked out of this one. It was so gross we didn't want to put our stuff down anywhere.
Price for the area, proximity to where I needed to be, free breakfast, free wifi. Breakfast wasn't very good, thin walls, poor light quality, poor shower quality, no conditioner, no material about the hotel or the surrounding area, toilet didn't flush well.
Only bad things were we didn't get the room we booked online at first but after saying something they changed our no problem and their restaurant/bar wasn't open even though they had a sign out front but there is a place right across the street
Nothing Signs of water leakage on the ceiling in the bedroom and the bathroom. Rust stains in the tub. Poor attitude from staff.
the cost was $83 and it was close. Unfortunately I booked through Kayak so I had to pay $110. I will use Hotel Mercury again but I will book through them and save the $27 extra that Kayak charged as their fee.
The reservation process. The lobby looks nice at first. The front desk attendant was missing for fifteen minutes when I wanted to check in at 8pm. When we entered our room it smelled musty. Further, the room was very outdated and unclean. There were stains everywhere and something growing/leaking? from the ceiling tile. The bathroom did not look sanitary. It was a very uncomfortable stay--- aware that they are renovating, there is no excuse to the disgusting conditions we paid to stay in.
The hotel is old, smells bad and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The manager called me at 5am to tell me I left my license at the desk. Then instead of just sliding it under the door he knocked a few minutes later and woke me up again.
The hotel did the trick for what we were looking for in a last minute booking on a holiday weekend. The bed was large and fairly comfortable. The hotel is very old and could use an update. Our first room the toilet didnt flush and 2 of the lights didn't work, and the hairdryer cord was so incredibly old it was literally black....and supposed to be beige. Grimy. The next room was okay. Toilet was slow, but eventually flushed, lights worked mostly. By the second day the bathroom florescent burnt out.
Young lady at the desk was pleasant and did what she could to help. Pulled up to the hotel, saw windows open with fans in them. First room we got, A/C didn't work, lights burned out, trash in the bathroom. Moved us to another room. Trash on the floor. Breakfast was bagels and cereal.
We didn't stay at the hotel, we drove in, and it was like an hotel from HELL. It was very scary, sketchy, and disgusting. It has "construction permit in the windows, the pool was closed, and it looked like a hooker spot. We turned around and left. I lost my money!
Close to NYS Thruway Lots of steps
Got a band aide from the front desk Dirty, can't explain the feeling of pulling down bedding and having who knows what on the sheets. ..thankful my wife looked, very bad smell to room. Had to change rooms after getting in late and carrying up luggage 2 flight of stairs. ..should had just slept in car
You can't beat the location. The staff is always very accommodating and the rooms are always clean, but the beds and pillows are not particularly comfortable. But for the price, you make some allowances.
Good for a brief stay - just your basic drive in motel. Nothing outstanding, but no real shortcomings either. Sort of a weird floor plan (lots of short stair cases), but is only a problem if you have mobility issues.
My room was a complete dump. Ripped wallpaper, bathroom towel rack broken, Chrome kleenex holder fell off the wall when I touched it. My friend said his room was completely different, and was nice.
rooms where nice... staff especial Bar tender was really nice food okay and breakfast nothing special
Great rate for a clean room No frills
Nothing The service I booked a room for three days on my second day they cut the phone off I couldn't make local calls. The service was garbage I give them a rating of zero
No elevator and security doors work intermittently.
I liked that theres a pool out side it was good for the kids and breakfast.potential offer of the sausage or bacon with your eggs Not enough chairs around the pool this should be a microwave in the room so you don't have to go back and forth the lobby
The facility was quiet, affordable and clean The television in the room was way too small
not much everything. it is a very nasty place and we will never return
price & location TV connection didn't work, no WiFi, outdated rooms, over-charged above booking.com price
Number: Message: We are at the Hudson Valley Hotel which we booked thru u for 2 nights. Last night they had a wedding here and the music and vibrations lasted till midnight if the hotel new this why put us in room (107) which was directly across on the ground level where our room was. I just went to front desk to complain and she said what did u want us to do it was an $8000 wedding, I said u should have advised us and pout us in a room farther away. To add insult to injury we got up 1 hour earlier because the clock was wrong, the hair dryer was broken no TV channel guilders pen paper this is a No Frills hotel. When I asked what they could do to take something off the bill she said that's what u get for booking thru Expedia. I am thinking of never using u again if this is what happens not booking directly
