we love this hotel its close to our favorite nightspots and restaurants in stkilda ,
your staff especially Belinda, very accomodating and helpful, and had a very pleasent pesonality. the hotel suited our needs, we were in melb for a wedding. the overnight tariff was a little over the top , but we had no choice.
The room was very nice and clean and the bathroom was a good size. We had so much trouble trying to find the car park even with the help of the new staff member and then our keys wouldn't work to let us in. This was very time consuming and painful.
The reception staffs were responsive in our requests to rectify shortfalls and or unserviceabilities. However, the problem with internet access from the room could not be rectified and unserviceable wall light was not rectified. There were no radiator in the bathroom. The ventilator in the bathroom was working(which is good) but on cold nights the ventilator contributes to colder bathroom without the radiator. To make it worse, the ventilator is linked to the single light switch(i.e. light on, ventilator on).
Excellent location, friendly, helpful staff, secure free parking and internet access, comfortable beds.Although the hotel was very busy, the reception staff would alway help us with directions etc. Requested a quiet room at the back, which was not available, our room at the front was very noisy,it was across from a backpackers hostel, hence loud kids hanging around outside at all hours of the night, also near a tram stop. Room rather basic and shabby, but despite these minor points we'd stay there again.
peaceful heater not easy to control. no instructions. no meals table for studio apartmen teven though there is a kitchen and adequate space.
I thought it was good... Far enough from the city but easy to get to... The location was excellent and the price was fair... Would def stay again... Would like to stay in the summer...
Nice balcony Wireless Broadband would be an improvement a stocked bar fridge Thought I was getting some basic kitchen goods etc
position of the hotel, good price and very large room...good service for rech the airport(easy and cheap)
The staff were wonderful. The very small bathrooms.
Loved its location central to cafes, shopping, Beach & easy to get to city via tram. Staff very friendly and helpful. Apartments well equiped and comfortable.
that we could open the sliding door to balcony for fresh air, comfy bed, clean, friendly staff
This hotel is in a great location. Room was clean and staff were helpful. TV was pretty crappy. Heater in the living room wasnt working (and it was cold - lucky the heaters in the bedroom worked a treat). Needs a bigger sofa, there was a 2 seater sofa for a 2 bed apartment that sleeps 4. There was no plug for the bath. The gym was pretty crappy - wouldnt list it as a feature.
I had a conference at The Sebel, Albert Park and that is why I chose to stay at this location. Our room was facing the road, and thus heard every sound from all the bar fights, to screaming mates etc... until 3am.
Able to relax very easily, and very close to shops, resturants bars and trams Not been able to check into my room any earlier than 2pm.
great location ,staff very helpfull, room very large, overall great pace to stay
Close to business areas, efficient and help staff
very comfortable room with the facility to make breakfast was handy
location, size of rooom, fair bit of wind noise (it was quite windy outside though)
The Duty Manager (sorry I forget his name) His service was excellent, He helped us get another couple of tickets to the melbourne cup on our way out of the door, nothing was a problem for him. Thank you! One thing we couldnt believe was the fact I got an email 2 days prior to our visit stating our booking would be cancelled due to incorrect credit card details, when I called the Medina they gave me a completly different credit card in from the one we provided. We felt they were trying to cancel our booking due to them not updating their rates during Melbourne Cup period. It was very lucky that we checked our email as it would have been cancelled. Maybe a phone call would have been nice considering it was provided. I spoke to one of my work mates who used to work for a Medina in Melbourne and said Medina in St Kilda was a dodgy one. It was just by chance we checked our email otherwise there would have been no accomm for us.
Location. Cost. Service
Helpful receptionstaff Handy location priced to suit the facilities offered Road noise especially the trams
It was close to the venue we were attending that evening and were able to walk. It's in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda and it was far too noisy until the wee small hours of the morning. Then at daylight you had the roadsweepers and garbage collectors.
Looked after me with carparking. Was close to my seminar. Good comfortable bed. No heating as the reverse airconditioner did not work and it was a cold night. It was noisey outside all night becauase it is close to the restaurants and main street.
Position in St Kilda and proximity to St Kilda Beach and tram system the place was in chaos being renovated; I do not like the need for number password to get into the hotel and then through a second door there should be someone there at all times for security reasons if nothing else (there were vagrants camped outside the front door half the time
The close proximity to transport and the helpful staff As a solo traveller hotels are just too expensive
Very Basic, very noisy, hard to get a good sleep. However it has a great location on main street in St.Kilda and east tram access to city centre. Staff were very helpful. Very Noisy, rooms were nothing like pictures on website. Booked a twin room but stayed in double.
Convenience Difficult to find
The location, right in the heart of Fitzroy street is fantastic - very convenient for bars, restaurants, the beach and public transport. It was a little noisy, making it difficult to get an uninterrupted night's sleep.
The covered balcony made what would otherwise have seemed quite a small room seem lighter and more spacious THe apartments were not staffed, so there was none on hand to deal with problems. A minor point, but there was only one cereal bowl, so one of us had to use a much larger bowl
Proximaty to the tram service into CBD Noisy road outside apartment and alot of people shouting during the night and early morning
The room was very clean and all usual hotel facilities were available for this type of accommodation. The room was very quit and private and the surroundings well kept. Definately a new mattress, mine was very tired and lumpy but ok to sleep on for a short stay.
The fact that it has an indipendent entrance and the outside tbl to smoke, plus it has everything one would need. The TVt is quite small and it wasn't easy to understand how to make use of the free internet...perhaps the password for the free WI-FI would have been better.
Big comfortable room with ample space for clothes./ Good couch; TV + DVD player. Quiet, and good bathroom - will most certainly go again. Nothing I did not like.
The comfy bed - excellent!! And the BIG Breakfast!!The location was perfect. The room rate very affordable.
I did like the room service offer and the balcony very dear for what it is, no free wi fi with such high price
The rooms that face the back of the hotel are very small.
Staff were friendly and helpful, location on Saint Kilda Esplanade was very handy for the pier, cafes and delicious cake shops. No balconys and no smoking areas. Was also charged for daily car parking when I didn't even have a car. Found their restaurant decor a bit basic for the standard of the hotel and pricey. Resented being charged 6 dollars for a bottle of water left beside my bedside.
I did not like the room that I was allocated, directly opposite the lift and heard noises all night. Very unsettling and not value for money. I will be thinking twice before booking a room at Novotel again
Very clean, well-lit, and modern rooms. Location is very good. Great views too.
The location was good, staff were friendly, transport was a stones throw from the front door. The rooms aren't sound proofed, so you could be heard speaking in the hallway.
I ejnoyed the view from my room to the sea. Best feature of the hotel. My first contact with counter staff member saw them search for my online booking while I waited and I was treated with disdain. Too many staff displayed poor customer focus for the duration of our stay and were rarely interested in engaging with guests. They put an authority on my credit card greater than the price quoted online because of potential incidentals that were not explained on arrival. Final price debited on last day was correct.
location , friendly helpful staff , good breakfast
The food and staff at Grill 3812 were fabulous! Staff on our arrival could have been friendlier and helped take bags to room or even offer use of baggage trolley
friendly polite staff, clean room, good food, blurred picture opposite bed
Good service, clean, the spa was great
foxtel tv was a bit small
Close to beach, city, bars, live music and great restaurants.
Location good and very close to the sea. Good choice of eating places very local to hotel. No complaints
The rooms were very cosy and comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable.
Location to restaurants Noise was a problem and more accessible room service would have been appriciated. ie. earlier for breakfast, without the delivery fee
Loved everything about it! Perfect location, fabulous bed, friendly staff, clean room, very good price. Can highly recommend it!
Your staff were very nice and helpful and we will stay again! dissapointing that the spa didnt work :(
The food and location, staff were friendly. Room had no view, sun blinds were filthy and stained, bit dirty around the edges. I think the gym and sun area were a bit over solved, some weight and a bit more space was expected.
The general ambience of the hotel was amazing with little touches every where. The food in the resturant was just perfect, perfect size perfect taste and perfectly cooked...
Great food, great location, luxurious rooms, thanks for the upgrade on arrival
The Prince is a unique hotel because of its position and vibe. It is a genuine 'boutique' hotel, and offers a more home like experience than a large chain hotel of similar standard. There is something undeniably 'cool' about the Prince, reflected in the staff, the food, the rooms and the decor. Noise can still be an issue at the Prince, but it goes with the territory.
I loved the fact that everything we wanted to do was in the one spot or within close vicinity. There's an awesome restaurant onsite, a day spa, pubs down below, funky cafe next door, a pool etc. We had stayed at the Prince once before and appreciate the design of the hotel and the excellent service from staff. N/A
In general the staff were excellent. Fantastic food. One very unhelpful evening receptionist (when we asked for milk for our room, which is not routinely in the room as they provide fresh milk and direct you to ask for it at reception when required, he suggested we go and by some at the corner store - this is a 4 star hotel)
Excellent staff, really good service, fantastic location and not too precious or pretentious. It was a bit noisy, but I think that was because there was a wedding on at the same time as we were there, nothing major though.
We enjoyed that the hotel was small and personable...Love the way the hotel has been re-furbished but has kept the old feel of the hotel.
The process was easy, food from Circa was amazing We had a reservation at the circa for 8.30, and it wasn't until I went to speak to the hostess at 9.30 that we got seated - she forgot about us. Also, we ordered the chocolate fondue for desert and it was cold (which is obviously not how you expect a fondue)
It was clean and the station was beside so it was easy to use it and the staff were freiendly. No
Excellent location. Rooms at the front get extreme noise from the pub. We had the worst night we have ever experienced (music til 5:30!)Request a back room.Back rooms do not get the noise from the pub.
Clean room, closeness to beach no clean towels, noise from mc donalds, no toilet to use on arrival.
not complicated, clean room with all extras provided.
that it was in an excellent location . we payed for a studio apartment and the room we had was not in my mind a studio apartment it was to me a hotel room . also the refresh of the room each day was very sloppy the bed was not made up very nicely at all .i dont believe that our room was worth the money we payed for but the location was great ..
the location the windows need to be doubled glazed as the noise from mcdonalds and the club next to it are unbearable. i hardly slept and it sounded like the people could have been in our room it was that loud. this was terrible and affected the stay
The room is nice, big and clean. Easy Stay Apartments has several locations in the area. This was not clear while booking the room. The adress shown on booking.com is the adress of the reception where you check in. There are also some rooms there, but not all. The staff was not very forthcoming with information on the othet location. When the ordered cab took very long to pick me up, they did not say or do anything, they just kept,me sitting there.
close proximity to the shops and resturants. sound from the street travels through the walls and we were unable to get to sleep - until 4pm in the morning.
Rate, location, area, climate control... Shower temperature wouldn't stay stable for a minute, swinging drastically.
Staff support when canceling reservation Lack of double glazing or any form of sound insulation between rooms meant that the 24hr MacDonalds and noise from other guests (including women coming in and out with different men!) made my one night stay unbearable.
Convenience to the Palais Theatre in StKilda & Secure Parking
We had a wedding nearby- location was great! no
early check -in was a blessing after red eye flight in from perth - albeit, the guy at reception did not want to have a bar but the another lady whom showed us where to stow luggage said there was a room we could book into early!! the communal areas are very busy and the carpet is looking a bit worn.
the bar down stairs and the ability to come and go at any hour of the day this is not a complaint box
Location was great. Bathrooms could be cleaner, mould in shower as an example.
Good For young people only....
Felt safe and secure, easy access to tram network.
The staff were great and the convenience was terrific. The room was pungent. 5 long term residents with no concern for ventilation. I could not stay in the room. It stank terribly and I grew up with a brother so are used to bad men smells but this was unbearable.
Location was great and cheap food from the bar. Staff nice & friendly and a friendly bar with a good vibe. I'd stay here again. No outside toilet or shower so only one between 8 of us in the room. Kitchen facilities only on the ground floor. Also it's the 1st place I've ever stayed at where I've had to pay to leave my luggage after I've checked out! Despite this I did like the hostel and would stay here again...
Good location, close to the tram, giving you access to Melbourne just outside the door bunkbeds weren't the best.
