good bed Horrible bathroom and TV remote didn't work.
Lovely swim in the basement pool. A fine hotel, great view of the city, everything you need and a decent price.
Room safe was bonus. Awesone location right on the city center trolley route. Room clean and bed comfy. Nice having a fridge in the room. Vety close to southern cross station. No free wifi. But can get free wifi elsewhere in the city. Couldn't get into room early.
That we were close to the Docklands as we needed to be
Convenient location. Basic hotel.
There was on 1 lift working to the room I was allocated. This resulred to extra time need to wait for lift
The location & the views from the windows I felt the in room movies were over priced.
the location is close to train station and is easy for us to visit the city The wifi !!!!! spend for $20 to 3 days and even have 750MB limitation !!!! other things like slippery is not provided in hotel......
Price. Close to city downtown. Walls need some painting. Sofa has visible color wear. Internet is up and down.
Good location, pretty much directly opposite Southern Cross station.
Excellent location for access to public transportation in CBD and to/from airport. Clean, safe and excellent staff!
Superb location; nice rooms; excellent lap pool. Walls paper-thin, can hear neighbors' conversation. Housekeeping often took until late afternoon to clean room; they do a good job, but clearly need additional workers.
Kitchen/pots/pans etc. Bed was comfortable. Service was great. Staff did not bother me much at all which is what I prefer, but when I did have a question they were on point and quick to resolve my issue. No bathtub, and the room heated up very quickly without AC blasting the entire time.
Proximity to all sites in CBD, Victoria Market, free public transportation. Friendliness, helpfulness, knowledge of staff. Kitchenette & amenities. Comfort of room & bed. Room size. Modern bathroom. All appliances & plumbing worked properly. Long waits for lift (and always crowded). Erratically working (or non-working) in-room Wi-Fi. Not enough sugar packets for tea or coffee. Housekeeping service generally did not arrive until 3-4 pm.
The room was great as was the service of hotel staff. Nice view and nice location since quiet but close to central business district and trams. Restaurant closes pretty early.
Great amenities, nice staff that was available at the reception desk despite our 2 am arrival from the airport. Great comfortable accommodations, spacious room, clean bathroom. Great on top of it cleaning staff. Best place we stayed out during our entire Australia trip. Central location for easy walk or tram to major tourist locations. Would have liked free wifi for longer than 1 hour per day, but it was fine paying for the daily rate.
very nice staff, room was clean, comfortable. and the hotel was in a great location, walking distance to most places,
excellent service, good location
The friendliness of the Concierge manager was highly commendable. My dinner on Wednesday evening was exemplary, grilled snapper cooked to perfection. Breakfasts were wholesome and ample.
The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful We had a room located close to the lifts, and the noise from them was contstant and very annoying
Good location and helpful staff. A decent standard of hotel at a reasonable price. Not really.
The close proximity to the city. The size of the rooms, bed etc. Easy to find, easy access when coming from s Aust. Poor veiw out the bedroom window. Very strong smell of cleaning chemical in the room.
Room was nice, good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was not good- poor quality. Location is central but a bit isolated when walking at night
The hotel was clean and presentable, and provided a location (not particlarly accessible)for our needs. The hotel decor was 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. The room we had (on the first floor above the entrance) had an obsure noise. The hotel was VERY expensive for what was provided. It was the only decent hotel available at the time. I believe the rate was opportunisically driven.
The view from the spa (free) cannot be topped! The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable (bed, pillows etc), staff friendly, not as luxurious as other Radissons which we especially noticed in the bathroom that was just average, but still ok and for a good deal we'd book it again. Bathroom bit oldfashioned, location just outside of the centre and not in it. Nothing serious though.
Damaged furniture in rooms
Had breakfast in my room toast was not cooked and the coffee was cold when I did complain they told me they would replace the cofee but I told them not to worry but they still sent it to my room, it was still only warm and thick as treacle, when I checked out the lady on reception then took breakfast off my bill
Requested to store bags while attending meeting and it did take some time to locate the bags on may return
Really fantastic location, adjacent to Queen Victoria Market. Overall clean, simple hotel with locally made amenities which was a really nice touch. The gentleman who checked us in was not very nice and gave us a bit of attitude when we asked about hotel parking (because the website stated there was). It wasn't a pleasant welcome or first impression.
Located in the CBD (central business district) of Melbourne, close to everything, tram running directly in front of the hotel makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. Close to museums, shopping, restaurants and the Victoria Market - this hotel has a fantastic staff who will help with all of your travel needs As a plus they serve one of the best breakfasts anywhere. Rooms that border the street can be noisy - if possible ask for a room not facing the streets.
Staff are pleasent and helpful No balcony or outside areas 2 seat twin room to crampy noscreens on windows cold breeze comes in
Very convenient location. Room a good size and clean. Nice modern decor No complaints other than reception area could have been a little more welcoming such as perhaps having art works by local artists displayed (as Melbourne is known as the cultural city) and flowers
When we needed transport to crown casino or train station the reception ordered a taxi for us and it arrived within minutes! no
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was modern and clean with all needed amenties and a great bath!
Friendly and helpful staff, very plesant room and location of hotel near Victoria Markets. Room was lacking some drawers which would have been useful as we were there for 8 days.
location; friendly helpful staff no
Size of room and facilities in the room
Close proximity to shopping and restaurants. modern style, well priced hotel Hotel Room a little on the small side, very noisy (thin walls, gaps under the doors)
Clean rooms, central location and the staff wre froendly. The rooms were allowed high volumes of street noise into the room./
close proximity to city centre Insulation of noise from street should be better
loved the proximity to the business district I felt the bathroom let the place down, it was not very pleasant to sit on the tiolet and have mould around the bath at eye level
Self serviced apartment, with washing machine etc. None
good location, stylish decor, comfy, helpful staff bit noisy from the street, even on the ninth floor
We had a 2 bedroom suite which was nice and spacious for the 4 of us. I just have one comment - the hot water in the shower over the bath kept overriding the cold making it difficult to maintain the correct temperature.Otherwise all was fine. Just the shower problem as outlined above.
The staff were very good under a difficult and embarassing situation.
the kitchen was hard to get the airconditioning to the right temperature. it was way too hot at night. and there was one morning when there was no hot water for shower.
I like the convenience of being right on the doorstep of the city central area and close to all the attractions
Cooking is very easy and very convenience..
Easy walk to good eating places on Swanston & Little Bourke. Reasonably close to tram stops to Kew & Victoria Street to Chinese grocery shops. Close to National Gallery of Vic - great exhibition. The furniture in the room looks old, well used in some areas, worn out. The smell in the room was not pleasant, but hotel staff helped to remove the odour, not successfully though. I've given written feedback to the hotel.
close to everything great for shopping, easy access, close parking but usually the hotel gives you free parking our coffee cups had lipstick marks over the tops of both mugs same with 2 cups... which i find disgusting, and we asked forlate checkout and was woken by a little asian man at 10 am wanting to clean our room... not happy
Friendly staff Lena and Tania helped so much. Allowed us in earlier due to a room being available.
Lift, Location, Clean rooms & modern bathroom fitout. Air conditioning fluctuated alot & did not cool room to appropriate temp.
Its accessibility to most everything i.e.. shops, places of interest and transport nothing really, because I enjoyed every minute of my stay
the location to the markets and trams was terrific the construction out the front was noisy
The staff were great and the rooms were very clean and modern
When I checked in Ibis Hotel Melbourne, my partner and I were welcomed warmly by the receptionist. We were given the keys to our rooms, and when we stepped into our rooms, to our surprise it was very neat and had a sense of comfort. The room was above average for its standard. There was room temperature control, bar fridge, complimentary coffee and tea, television and internet access. It was a comfortable and great stay. I look forward to staying at Ibis Melbourne on my next visit. When I turned on the television, they wanted to charge me for their service. Even though I only wanted to watch free to air. To my disappointment, I just turned off the television and watched movies through my laptop instead.
shopping sightseeing dining
Location Housekeeping didn't tidy up our room.
Location was awesome. Breakfast was great too. The dull thud from the bass music from night club next door made sleeping at night almost impossible!!
Thought the apartment accommodation was very suitable for four adult family members staying together in one location.
closeness to southern cross station and shopping and affordability room phone didnt work
We liked the night guy's responce time to a complaint we made about our noicy neighbour's. 2 out of 3 night's we had very very noicy people next door to us, They came back after midnight drunk. We think use should keep an eye on people like that because we were woken up both night's & that ruined the hotel for us...
after being out for the whole day, returning at 4pm to ready to go out that evening, the room had still not been made, even with a sign on the door. windows were very light early in the morning, need curtains.
It was close to many areas of interest in Melbourne CBD. We did not like the fact that the room beside us was being renovated and there was banging from 0800 hrs until 1630hrs. We could not stay in our room during that period. When asked if we could move were told that there were no more rooms. There were no laundry facilities as the lease had run out. Our phone in the room was not working and there were no attempts made to fix that. These comments sound like complaints and are complaints but having spoken to the hotel staff nothing was done to fix these issues. We would not stay at Hotel Sophia again.
Generally tidy. Location close to city and airport bus station. No sandals provided, even paper ones. No rail hanger for towels in wash room. No map/directions for emergency evacuations such as fire. Brandband service is little bit expensive. Can hear other rooms easily. Good to have 2 rubbish bins.
Nearness to rail station good breakfast
Not much....the complimentary chocolates on the pillow maybe?!?! Walls of the room were really thin, so we could hear other guests walking & talking. Hotel staff were not very helpful. Breakfast was terrible and very basic. Toilets in lobby were disgusting and badly need renovating. Definitely not a 4 star hotel- more like 2
the room was spotlessly clean the only problem we found was that there is not enough space to put your clothes and there are no drawers I have never stayed in a hotel where there are no drawers it is ridiculous.
It was within walking distance to the casino, could catch trams nearby would have liked more variiety with breakfast ie, fruit sausages
The check out
Good location I would have preferred a late check out option
Clean rooms, big rooms. The staff were very professional and friendly, helped us with all our needs. It's a little further away from the things we wanted to see at the top centre of the CBD like Lygon Street Carlton, and Melb Museum but there was a free city tram every 15 minutes right outside the door so can't complain!!!
The location and presentation of the room That the description of what we got was not the same as the room
Very noisy location. Difficult to sleep. AC noisy, leaky taps!
Very helpful hotel staff and very clean room. It is walking distance to Southern Cross Station.
Great location, friendly staff great room.
Good friendly atmosphere close to sports & shopping precinct, owner has good local knowledge
Warm and relaxing after a busy winter's day in the city. Excellent breakfast and comfortable facilities.
Good alternative to a large hotel. Great atmosphere and friendly, obliging host.
The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast, sitting at the big dining table along with other hotel guests, is always very pleasant.
Convenience of location. Value for money.
rooms were comfy, served our purpose well. no lift. tough work with suitcase
Location location location. 10 minutes by good tram service, close to Vic market and great staff !! Having to pay for Wi Fi - spent 3 months in USA-even the $40/night motels did not charge for Wi Fi.
Central, adequate facilities, cooperative staff, off street parking etc. None
Good quality budget accommodation Free Wifi should be included
very clean bathroom. small, old tv
I have no problem in returning in the future and revomend to anybody has so much going for it wazza Zero
Close to public transport and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Insufficient lighting- ie no bedside lighting for reading. Few power points- ie needed to unplug fridge in order to boil kettle or recharge phone.
Hotel was fine but we really did only stay for a quick night due to a function in the city. We found the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Esp Raj. We got there at 6.00pm taxi to our function from the hotel at 19:15. Got back late and left early in the morning so just a flying visit. Very pleasant though.
