Pros: This is a Hotel focused on extraordinary service. The crew and everyone who works at Las Alcobas deserve praise for their honest efforts to make you feel at home and cared for. The hotel and premises are very beautiful and comfortable. The location is PERFECT. The rooms are exquisitely decorated and comfortable, not too big like in big name hotels, but not too small that you feel cramped, all the amenities in the room are GREAT, like touch screen to control lights, drapes and temperature to a TOTO toilet in the bathroom. It is an expensive place to stay, but very much worth it.

Pros: It’s a modern architecturally pleasant bldg. colours, textiles and atmosphere were perfect. It was in the centre of Polanco Mexico City - the only location you want to be in. The rooms were also nice, I checked in two of my colleagues, so we had 3 rooms all up. We ate in the hotel two nights and had one breakfast. We had 6 to 7 people at each sitting and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and the dinners were very late each night. I used the gym and it was also spacious and well equipped.

Cons: At the check-in I've been asked to upgrade to the Regency Club. It's about 50,- USD per night and it includes lounge access with free breakfast and free drinks etc. at a certain times of the day. I accepted and got a room at 40th floor. At the reception they 'forgot' to mention renovation works where taking place at that floor during my stay. So I pay more to have workers all day next to my room. I found it very unfair.

The menu was limited for late dinner. The food was tasteless and the uninteresting. Sorry - the dinner need a major improvement to attract people. Great disappointment as coming home after a full day you look forward to a relaxing evening. There are no alternative restaurants in the neighborhood

Cons: I loved everything, but if I had to say something, I guess it would be that the hotel restaurant closed at 5 pm on Sundays. But that's understandable because the restaurant staff want to be with their families. I also wish there was a mini fridge in the rooms.

The channels they have are the regular that you can find in a hotel of 2 stars in any neighborhood of the low tourism zones at mexico city. Cons: One thing is staff could be heard talking loudly and sometimes very late hammering but it stopped before we needed to call desk reception. The other problem was the elevator key cards they never worked properly. I don't mind if you just tell me that I need to check in every time we get back since you have a 24 hr desk. It was annoying and unnecessary, just tell us to check in every day we would not have had a problem with that. Besides that staff was very nice.

They did offer the pool at their sister property, nice gesture, but not worth the trouble. If I had know I may have made different plans.

I can honestly say this may have been the best hotel I've stayed at as far as room amenities are concerned. The people were super friendly and a couple of them tried to dpeak to me English which I thought was really nice, especially because my Spanish is good enough to get through everything. They wanted to practice and I thought that was nice. The rooftop restaurant was an added bonus. It was cozy up there and the prices weren't too unreasonable if you're comparing them to U.S. prices. Did I mention there's a Starbucks two steps away from this property!? A jacuzzi would be a nice addition to this hotel. I hope they consider adding one in the future. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel without reservation.

The structure of the hotel was split into two, which was a little confusing, and required walking through the garage to gain access to our section of the building. The corridor was dark, and seemed more like a David Lynch take on a motel, than a longer stay hotel!
