8.8 Excellent
Pros: Golf course looks beautiful and sunsets are amazing. It’s outside of San Diego: good for resting, not so for going out
Cons: it looks outdated and urgently needs refreshment of all interiors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone & everything
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Love the fireplace in the room and golf course views. The staff was very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Just wish they had a more modern gym and would be nice if the gym overlooked the views with Windows.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing place to stay. Every need is taken care of. The staff is always there to assist you with a true desire to ensure your experience is first rate. We will return.
Cons: It’s expensive but worth the price.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No coffee machine in room and removed like by coffee by nine am
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: We were triple charged for our 2 night stay, and have only managed to get one additional charge refunded so far. Nightmare - still almost $1400 overcharged, still chasing. Very disappointing
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms.
Cons: Food/drink service at the pool is really hit or miss. First day was awful, and very frustrating. Second day was good. Also surprised that the staff at the pro shop/golf course was really indifferent - not friendyl at all.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely wood structures & architecture
Cons: The day we checked in hotel was empty, in lobby and in the restaurant only couple of people, we had asked room with balcony, but receptionist said that all the rooms were occupied , the bellmen was surprised to hear . Obviously she was not telling he truth all the rooms with the balcony across from our room was lights turned off and in the morning none of tens of rooms with balcony had their curtains pulled off or anybody was in balcony. She instead put us to 7th floor room which we wake up with construction work in the morning, workers were replacing the carpets at the hallway, a lot of dust and noise when we open our room to go to gym .the other floors were ok, no construction was in other floors, I truly believe the receptionist does not like any foreign people, that’s why she put us to the room with no balcony and floor with construction workers and works. I believe her name ( receptionist )was Angelin, . many haters all around even in hospitality industry. Left the hotel with no good taste and memory in our head. I was sorry that we had stopped by and spent money and night there .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful property located on the Torrey Pines golf course. The hotel has a very nice rustic feel. We were there for a special birthday and the hotel staff made it feel special. The customer service was excellent.
Cons: This is not necessarily negative, but it is important to have a car where the hotel is located since there is not much within walking distance of it.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location is awesome
Cons: Pictures on web site deceiving.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, ocean view, very nice staff, free bikes
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room location on the ground floor with walk-out access to the pool/beach was especially nice, but naturally this only applies to rooms on the ground floor with ocean-view / partial ocean-view. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly across the board, room decor was nifty. Location was convenient, minutes drive to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Short drive to La Jolla. Lots of food/restaurant options within walking distance of the property.
Cons: Parking was a little expensive, ~$30/day, but likely not out of range for this area. Even so, underground garage was very convenient.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right on PB! Unfortunately we had bad weather during our whole trip, so we weren’t able to fully enjoy the pool and beach because it was so cold and windy!
Cons: It’s pretty expensive for having only a few amenities. Service in the restaurant was sloooooow to say the least!!
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Dirty, no bar, no restaurant , way over priced, showing its age, pool so small and only about 15 Sunbeds!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. We liked the location. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel wasn't too big and the parking was very convenient .
Cons: It was a little pricey but I imagine it has a lot to do with booking in the summer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: One of the best locations on the beach. Not too crowded, but minutes to all the action. Breakfast buffet was very good. Free bicycles, free towels, umbrellas, boards for the beach. Very friendly staff
6.0 Good

Pros: Amazing location, right on the beach front. Excellent hotel restaurant, great for people watching. Staff were very friendly and had great attention to detail. Included in resort fee were bikes, towels, body boards, chairs and more. Felt in the midst of beach life!
Cons: There was no pool but not a problem as so close to beach. No fitness center on site but they did give us vouchers for one nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: ALL of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Whenever we would pick up our car from valet they would always ask if we needed directions or if we would like recommendations on somewhere to go. Pros: Beautiful grounds; BBQ, movie and fireworks at night; spacious room
Cons: A little expensive but the experience is worth it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My fiancé and I have stayed here several times. This is our spot. The service and the rooms are 5 stars every time. The spa is also incredible. Every guest is treated as a VIP.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Majestick. Beautifully furnished Common areas are spacious and clean.
Cons: Hard to navigate.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Relaxation pool!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Tired hotel, all staff seemed confused, lack of cohesion / working as a team. At the end of the day, this is more of a $250 a night hotel. No music at dinner, no service at the pool (dirty/used plates and glasses sat for hours), unhelpful check-in staff, and interior design that needs a SERIOUS remodel. Would NOT recommend this property unless you're needing to be close to the racetrack.
Cons: Everything. Top to bottom.
6.7 Good
Cons: Understaffed at pool
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property and it's relaxing environment, the proper management
Cons: One person named ASHLAN at the pool area, serving the guests, was extremely rude, many times refused to serve water and other things. She was frustrated to everyone and I reported her to the management. I hope she loses her job as it really impacts every other positive thing about this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very large beautiful room with patio that we read on. Very relaxing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, lushly landscaped property. Especially love the long, winding driveway and beautiful canyon views from both our veranda and the walkways. Complimentary water bottles, very friendly checkin & checkout front desk service, and the comfortable, spacious room befitted a 4-star experience.
Cons: POOL: There are pluses but problems stand out. Positives: 3 family heated pools & 1 heated adult only pool away from other 3 pools. Poolside food quality was actually very decent. Would have been a far better experience without constant concern about wasp attacks :) Negatives: * Food service: When the female FS attendant handed the menus to me, I asked her to come back in 2 minutes. She reappeared 2+ hrs later, far after I'd flagged down another attendant, filled our order AND halfway done with food. * Pests: The poolside is inundated with MANY MANY WASPS. They are highly attracted to food so can barely eat without being swarmed. Not an exaggeration, at all. The wasps leave you alone when there's no food but they swarmed in everytime we lifted the linen napkins that we used to cover our food. I mentioned the problem to the female attendant that came by and said the hotel should needs to take care of the problem. She just shrugged and said yeah. * General: Pool size & design were standard, nothing special.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the property was great from the location to the service. I highly recommend this place.
Cons: Loved everything

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent!...Smack in the center of Old Town. Breakfast adequate. BEST was the PINEAPPLE WATER!!!!! Cool and refreshing.
Cons: No complaints about our stay.
7.9 Good
Pros: Loved the personality of the brand.
Cons: It was incredibly loud, and every time someone closed their door we woke up from the slam!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, inside the gaslamp quarter. They found a solution for the sound problem. Cleaness. Room comfortable except for the sound problems.
Cons: No sound isolation at all. We could hear the steps of the room above us loudly. Fortunately we complained and they pit us in a room in the last floor. That one was much better! The sound of the air conditioner is too loud. It was difficult to find a sit in the breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was very spacious and clean.Comfort bed and great location.
Cons: small room for breakfast and too crowded.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent as is location
Cons: Quite expensive
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and staff went out of there way for a great visit. Breakfast spread was perfect and amenities made for enjoyable time that wasn’t expecting
7.9 Good
Pros: Great service, comfortable and cozy rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quirky and fun. Amazing location in center of gaalamp district. Bed was super comfortable, could have slept for days.
Cons: I booked a weekend that was way overpriced. Hotel Z is a fine hotel, however at a certain point it isn't worth it. I was able to find a different hotel for cheaper and relocated.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: No (free) parking available. Hotel room full of merchandise (still wondering who buys that ugly pet dog for 25$...) Brekfast space rather limited.
Cons: Neat boutique style Hotel. Nice staff, good brekfast selection, fast wifi. Clean, neat rooms. Great location within gas lamp district.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a little sparse and geared towards Euell Gibbons, everything reminded me of the taste of wild hickory nuts. Some of us are not health nuts! The location was great, the staff really great and the room was very nice.
Cons: The cold shower was invigorating, you might want to get engineering to fix the hot water system. We could hear a lot of hallway noise. Had quite a wait to get the car due to valet staffing shortages. Maybe a few more tables and chairs in the breakfast area? Not sure about those newfangled covers... Overall a good hotel and a good value. We will certainly stay there again.
Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego - San Diego - Building
7
9.0 Excellent (8,607 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Prime Waterfront location on San Diego Bay. Offers a resort-like setting with bay view rooms. Five minutes from the airport and walking distance to San Diego Convention Center, Seaport Village, Headquarters and Gaslamp Quarter. Easy access to San Diego Zoo, Sea World and Beaches.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Grand Breakfast was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Lots of good food nearby.
Cons: They could definitely have more quality soap/shampoo/lotion. The ones they have are not great at all, especially for the cost of the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and great view from the bar at the top.
Cons: Lobby under construction. Crowded breakfast buffet.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was fantastic. Checking in was easy. Could have told us a bit more about the hotel and how to get to the room. Room was very nice though the bed and pillows weren't that great. View was fantastic.
Cons: Took three times for my key to work for the Parking Garage. Parking spots are very tight in that garage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing!!! From the views to the Harbor to the restaurants and activities. Sooo family oriented and the staff is just WOW!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect. Right on the heart of downtown and seaport village.
Cons: Some remodeling in process
5.0 Okay
Cons: Too expensive... destination charge?? Daily?? Parking $35 a night .. never again
8.3 Excellent
Cons: During construction-found it difficult to maneuver around. Especially w elderly parents. We’ve always stayed here so was a bit disappointed this time. Know it will be back to “great” as soon as construction is over tho.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Entire place is under construction. Parking was expensive even by hotel standards plus additional destination fee added on an additional $120 to an already expensive room. Huge lines for slow elevators. For price, room was small, poorly appointed and lacking in amenities. This was a really disappointing and lackluster hotel experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic harbor view from our corner room on the 23rd floor. Great celebrating our 50th anniversary!!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious, harbor view was really nice, comfortable beds. Location was great, next to the seaport, 10 minute walking distance to the gaslamp district, 10 minute car ride to the zoo. Breakfast buffet was amazing, with several healthy options (different fruits, yogurts, oatmeal, toasts), omelette station,... Staff at check in and check out was very attentive and professional, even if, due to renovations, there was no actual lobby and the check in was on the street. Hotel is very family friendly, with pool and game area for kids, but there is also a quieter area with spa and pool for adults.
Cons: Breakfast was included in our room rate and the buffet was really good, however the logistics of it were chaotic, since the dining room is too small for such a large hotel at peak time, and they do a very poor job at keeping track of the reservations. On the first day we had waited for 20 minutes and upon checking with the person in charge she said that she had the indication we were already seated. On the second day the wait time was 40 minutes (!!) and at some point after a long wait they couldn't find our reservation. To minimize errors and misunderstandings, they should just call people out by the room number instead of names or surnames (several times mispronounced) to clearly identify the right person/group.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: In dire need of a complete restoration.

1.0 Poor
Pros: The view was the only positive.
Cons: Compulsory resort fee which provided services we couldn’t utilize because the staff wanted to go home early. We were told they’re not affiliated with the hotel and to take it up with them if we didn’t like it. And the noise! Holy cow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I reserved this hotel for my daughter her family; this is a favorite hotel of her autistic son whose birthday they try to celebrate there every year.

Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff was great, very accommodating and super friendly! I would go back but probably not on such a busy weekend.
Cons: Overall, the hotel was nice and we had a great time. We booked on a busy weekend, the entire place was sold out. There was a lot of traffic. Getting an elevator up or down was nearly impossible and when you did catch one, it was too full so you'd have to wait 10 minutes for the next and hope there was room otherwise you were waiting again. When we arrived we received the wrong room, I booked 2 doubles and received a King. The hotel was able to accommodate us which was really appreciated but we had to move towers. The tower we were placed in seemed to be the older of the two. Looked really dingy with the headboards of the beds all worn and torn and the windows were cloudy and dirty. For the price we paid I felt like the room was unacceptable. I did not complain; at that point we had already wasted so much time waiting in the long check-in line, then trying to catch a ride up the elevator to the wrong room, then waiting for our new rooms and having to move over, that we just wanted to unpack and get to the pool. We got to the pool and it was very crowded, as it should be for the Holiday weekend. Understandable. The water looked gray and cloudy, very dirty. A maintenance guy was outside checking on the levels and I did mention to him how dirty the water looked and he said he noticed the same thing and was looking into it. Not sure what happened from there as I didn't see him anymore after that. Again, overall we had a great time, my kids especially, as they don't know any better. The staff was great and everyone was super friendly! I would go back but probably not on such a busy weekend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to marina. Great location. Nice pool and pool bar. Highly recommend Had room with balcony and great view. Get a room with balcony and marina view if available. It's worth the extra money!
5.8 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, excellent shower, and friendly staff.
Cons: I think the restaurant, Smithe & Wolensky was not up to par.
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable room. Good restaurant on site. Good views.
Cons: Could never find a lounge chair at the pool. Pool area way too small for a hotel of this size. Parking fees of $50 per night defeat any otherwise good rate you find.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect in the heart of the Gas Lamp District in downtown San Diego
Cons: Nothing, the hotel was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The extra charges they were trying to charge us. Mini Bar - this was locked and no way we were able to open it. Valet, we were told $50 and free in and outs while we stayed, they tried to double charge us.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I had a bad experience staying here. I did contact you guys and was disconnected!! People fighting in the hallways at 1am banging on our door and just making so much noise. I was terrified thought this was supposed to be a 4 star hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A luxury hotel with direct access to PetCo Park and less than a block away from the gaslamp district. The staff is very customer focused, the room amenities are modern and clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Great place to stay when in town for a game. Beat the lines both coming and leaving PetCo and he a stone's throw from gaslamp.
Cons: I was ok with this as I love baseball, but PetCo Park next door can get noisy. The hotel does provide earplugs. The sliding bathroom door isn't quite as private as I'd like as you can awkwardly see around the edges.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the property is located downtown next to Petco Park. If you have tickets to the game you can enter the park via a passenger bridge just off the Lobby. The staff is very helpful and can arrange any accomodations that you require.
Cons: Its a bit "pricey" but i can assure you , you will get your moneys worth.

Overview Reviews
Perched on its own 15-acre peninsula, Loews Coronado Bay is a private oasis of tranquility. This Coronado hotel offers views of the shimmering bay waters and the San Diego skyline.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff members were very friendly. I was always greeted with a smile Room was large with a wonderful, comfortable king-size bed. Property was clean and well-landscaped.
Cons: Only two designated smoking areas found. It would have been nice if each building had a designated smoking area
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool area was very nice and the tennis courts were immaculate. The beds were fantastically comfortable.
Cons: We booked a poolside view room. Big mistake. If it wasn’t Fernando the movie being blasted out on the big screen, it was the convention karaoke session by the pool designed to disturb your sleep. When we contacted security about the drunk woman knocking on our door at 2am for an hour they did nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The resort is lovely and most beautiful location. All the amenities you could want like pool, spa, fitness including Marina spinning class, outdoor seating areas all over the resort. Shuttle service to beach with chairs and umbrellas for guests and shuttle to town. There were boat rentals and stand up boards which we did.
Cons: It is pricey to stay there so maybe just some deals for repeat customers maybe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice resort and location
Cons: The $31 faily self parking fee
4.6 Okay
Cons: From the moment I arrived staff were rude. It was impossible to get food ordered at the pool. Other guests finally helped me track down assistance.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: We would have liked for the hotel to also have a coffee shop open for breakfast, lunch and dinner that would be suitable for families with kids.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great, beautiful hotel, I was so relaxed I really did NOT want to leave!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We attended a beautiful wedding...every moment was special. The check in staff was SOOO dear, understanding and kind to two old people. Big Hug!! Amazed how well trained, happy and helpful the staff was. THANK YOU...for the wonderful memories.
Cons: nope!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect view and confert of room
Cons: The tea&coffee machine did not work ,water did not heat up, in our room
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful lobby and great location. Room was clean with comfortable bed and beautiful view from balcony of the bay. The pool provides water, pool noodles, goggles, sunblock and towels. Shuttle service to private beach.
Cons: The snacks in the rooms are priced way too high.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice facilities with lots of areas to lounge over the Bay. Very smart design of buildings for easy access to any part of the hotel without walking forever and endless elevators. Very friendly staff at all levels. Fun and easy shuttles to the beach and town. Very nice free lounge and umbrella service at the beach. Large pool area with great cantina.
Cons: Electric vehicles charging, especially Tesla since the location is so isolated and EV chargers are the standard these days. I noticed 6 Tesla our weekend and we could have really used access to charging
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning panoramic views on bay and city. Quick walk or ride to the beach. Few minutes from Coronado island center. Many sport activities. Very welcoming pool area. Easy parking
Cons: Hidden fees and charges called complimentary. $30 per day for services like internet, printing boarding passes and coffee is kind of high considering that other same level hotels offer it for free

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, and helpful, always meeting you with a smile and a hello. Proximity to Petco Park was awesome. Location also convenient to places to eat & catch public transportation. 9th floor bar area being open all day to sit outside.
Cons: No microwave or mini frig in room. No fan in bathroom. Prices for cocktails & parking was ridiculous.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful large rooms in a great location.
Cons: 11:am checkout. Extra hour was 45.00.
7.9 Good
Pros: The rooftop bar was lovely with great views, the rooms were large and comfortable. One of the quickest elevators I have ever been in. Lovely contemporary theme throughout the hotel. Bars and restaurants next door and close by so you don't even have to go into the gaslamp quarter which is a much busier area.
Cons: $50/night for parking - not impressed by this. No balconies in rooms so while I really liked the hotel I would not book a room again that did not have some sort of outdoor space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location kind service beautifull room overall really enjoyed our stay
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location to Petco ballpark.
Cons: On-site valet parking was $49 per night - yikes!

9.6 Excellent

Cons: Wish there was a pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and the modern look and feel of the room. The tablet was nice for ease of tv usage as well as info about the hotel and things to do around the city.
Cons: No free parking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hip ambiance and the chill vibe that allows pets- cute dogs everywhere! The beds were VERY comfy, the room temperature constant and comfortable, great blackout curtains, and mostly quiet (with the exception of a few screaming kids, but that was not the hotel's fault). LOVED the rooftop as a place for a nightcap to transition from out on the town to bed. Also loved the Modern Times Coffee Invigatorium just across Market- coffee and bar in one hip shop.
Cons: Had to park at a local garage, as the valet parking option was steep. Breakfast was also expensive, so we didn't choose to eat there. The shower head is very water-saving, so good for the environment, but not the best shower ever. Overall, very minor complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Good size room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Erica at the front desk made our trip amazing. Thank you
Cons: Erica

Pros: The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the happy hour beer and wine daily. Bed was comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very central location to the gas lamp district. Very good for young travellers (I was with my friends all of whom are in our early 20’s). The rooftop pool is amazing and the staff are overall friendly and willing to help! I would DEFINITELY stay here again!
Cons: The ONLY issue small issue (if you could call it that) that we had is the lack of sun beds at the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free drink on arrival, snacks free in room. In our daughters cot they had put a bottle of baby bath and a rubber duck. The room itself was fabulous. All the staff were extremely friendly. Amazing view from the pool on the roof. Overall a fabulous hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and the free snacks
Cons: Not enough towel hooks in the bathroom and was nosy at the weekend
9.2 Excellent
Pros: great location very lively area
Cons: size of room a little small, no drawers for clothes
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Upon arrival we were offered either water, beer or a glass of wine and bottled water upon departure. The view from the rooftop bar was lovely for a drink and for breakfast. The bathroom was quite large with a big shower.
Cons: The room was on the small side and didn’t have a chair other than the desk chair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Great staff, great service, great room, great location, with a fantastic rooftop bar. The complementary snacks, soft drinks in the room was a nice touch as was the wine and beer at Reception.
Cons: Everything was fantastic
7.5 Good
Pros: Very cool atmosphere, roof top bar and the bartender working at the time was awesome. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: We booked a one night stay on Thursday 8/15. We loved our afternoon there so decided to stay another night. When I asked the front desk about this we were told no because the entire hotel was “shut down” (said nothing about this when I booked) on Friday and that we better not be late for our 11:00 am check out...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Very noisy at night from the street noise.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool and gym were great. Lots of potential to be a super hotel.
Cons: The noise level was high at the roof top bar and the pool even early morning. The bed in my room was lumpy and tilted to the headboard and door side of the room. Room 532.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was clean and has good access to downtown.
Cons: The lobby/hallway smelled unbearably of Abercrombie and Fitch. The view outside of our window was a homeless camp. I requested a vanity kit and make up wipes (twice) and they were never delivered and there was no staff follow up about the request.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: Noisy at night

With a stay at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla (Village of La Jolla), you'll be a 5-minute walk from La Jolla Cove and within a 5-minute drive of Windansea Beach. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location Style of hotel Bed Car valet chaps
Cons: This hotel needs to pay more attention to its other guests rather than just being a wedding venue, particularly when that entails closing half the already small pool area for a wedding party. We were there 2 nights and they had 2 weddings. The wedding guests cram in the bar and are noisy. It would have been ‘ok’ had our tv worked but apparently they had WiFi problems - for 2 days! Small rooms with limited sockets - difficult to fix in a period property Window wouldn’t open more than 4”.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and ocean view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with lots of charm and nooks/crannys to explore. Gorgeous restaurant, bar, lobby. We stayed in a stunning room 11th floor with wonderful view. Room beautifully appointed. Highly recommend.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was wonderful.
Cons: The hotel and the rooms were dated. Could use a complete overhaul. Our room was very dark, as there was another building directly outside of our window.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Only the location
Cons: A lot of thing When we arrive our room carpet was all very wet we asked to be moved to other the other carpet was less wet as well but they had no other option for us the bed room was very dark no mater how much light you but on cos there was no good window only a small one with the worst view ever the glass was sand blast glass and it was a small window there was bad smell in the room the room location was uuuhhhh near an office and when they are in that office it was noisy as it was at the back of our bed room The bed sheets were very hard too I didn’t like it at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an extraordinarily beautiful hotel, with very competent and accomodating staff - notably at the front desk and concierge. The lobby bar has one of the most beautiful views I have seen - a life size picture postcard of gently swaying palms over the surf and swell of the Pacific Ocean. The only oddity of the hotel is that is does not seem to employ enough cleaning staff. Your room can be cleaned at any time from 8 am to mid afternoon, and you have to request the turn down service (and still it is random if someone will come!). Odd given the price of the rooms (top-tier by any standards). Breakfast also is very ordinary - better to eat out. Overall however, you will love your stay at the hotel. It is special, and you will feel a little special staying there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. The gentleman at the pool that runs the show does an excellent job all around. Great hotel in the perfect spot.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was comfortable & clean
Cons: Too noisy! Workers right outside our door making too much noise, talking loudly, pushing carts past out door made it very hard to sleep
7.0 Good
Pros: Rooms need a fluff
1.0 Poor
Pros: The MED. The restaurant on the property.,
Cons: The bedsheets were soiled. When I called for the 24 hour dining option there was no response to my voicemail. I was simply ignored. Management had a very sad attempt at apologizing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast at The Med was delicious. The eggs were prepared to perfection and the hash browns had onions and peppers. The yogurt and berries was also excellent. The fruit was ripe and delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also great.
Cons: My husband hurt his knee hiking and we asked for ice. It took over an hour for delivery.considering the excellent service, we were disappointed.

9.0 Excellent (145 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Rambler Motel has been radically redone to meet the needs of the modern traveler. Affordable and delightful, the motel is surrounded by San Diego’s best attractions, nightlife and shopping. Set your vacation on cruise control.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was super cute, and the $10 food credit was very convenient!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: People very accommodating and housekeeping did an awesome job.
Cons: A 3 washer & dryer area available for guests but don't offer laundry detergent machines or sell on site.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: They had a lava rock fire pit, that you could make S'MORES with, out on the pool area. The swimming pool was small but nice. They provided extra large pool towels, for when you went swimming. They have a $10 voucher per day, you could use in their arcade or restaurant/coffee shop area. You could use the voucher to buy tokens for the arcade games, use in the restaurant or buy an assortment of food and drink items. They allowed us to use the pool before we checked in and allowed us to check in almost 3 hours early. The front desk were very nice and always tried to accommodate you.
Cons: There were no refrigerators in the rooms. We had to rent one for $11/day. The refrigerator was very small and had no freezer compartment. There were no microwaves in the rooms and none available to rent. The curtains on the room windows left a small gap. You had to meet with it a bit to close the gap.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfy rooms. Friendly staff. Loved having the coffee shop and arcade on property. Great for families.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, and the adjacent cafe with a good, somewhat healthy snack selection for our late arrival/early departure was a life saver.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The on site coffee shop and cafe is a definite plus as well as the saltwater swimming pool. The rooms are newly remodeled and super clean. The motel is conveniently located on I-5 and is 10 minutes from downtown San Diego. We were very pleased with our stay at the Rambler Inn and were tickled to death that we found such a value compared to other hotel/motels in the area! Book it, you wont regret it and you can thank me later!!
Cons: There wasn't anything that we didn't like. The rooms do not have coffee makers or a mini-fridge but we knew that up front. The DirecTv with all the channels on the 55" TV and the onsite coffee shop more than makes up for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What are like the most is the feels really relax I’m comfortable place to stay I love the coffee in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The tiny details in decor. The retro feel and the outdoor mysic selection.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff. Our bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the large screen TV, as well as the complimentary vouchers we received for the cafe, and the bikes that we could use for free.
Cons: It was a little difficult not having a small fridge in our room as we weren't able to keep cold water in there, the pool was also always filled with children which made us not want to swim, but this just goes to show that The Rambler is a great place for families. We were also a short drive away from other beaches.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I Liked the new remodelled rooms. Nice flat screen tv with excellent channels to choose from. There's a mini fridge and microwave. They have a bluetooth speaker if you decide to listen to your personal music in the room. They have a cafe and nice breakfast at the motel. Its worth the money!!!!!!!! Will be coming back again.
Cons: Everything was great. No Complaints.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed is like a cloud! The staff is beyond helpful. It was my spouses birthday and the hotel left a tray of cake bites and a card in our room. We were very surprised and happy. Instantly we wanted to stay another night to enjoy the pool and movie night.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish motel recently renovated with retro 70s theme. The rooms are very colorful with a lot of personality. Very clean. Comfortable memory foam KING size mattress. Coffee available at the check in desk was great. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The map with local food/entertainment was very helpful - even had a full size poster printed on the back. Overall very unique memorable stylish. Highly recommend. If I come back to San Diego will probably stay here again.
Cons: It is still a motel. Location isn't anything special. A little hard to get to from the expressway.

7.1 Good
Pros: When I checked in Stephanie S. was so nice & full of info & ideas for my kids to have a great long wknd.
Cons: The pics of the pool made ot seem quite large but in reality the pool is a tiny bird bath...I have a larger pool in my house in Beverly Hills, CA. But we went to SD to more than swim. The biggest turn off was the food service guy CJ next to tue pool...he had a horrible attitude & when we ordered virgin pina coladas it was not even blended but just a mix of flavors to make a "pina colada". It was so bad after the 4 order of the same sugar water I went to the Vistal bit they do not have pina colada at all...or even a blender!!! I personally never seen a drinking/restaurant that does not have a blender for the frozen drinks!

Pros: Convenient to most things, right across from the midway & ferry to Coronado island. We did not rent a car so it was walking distance for dinner and nightlife & a uber ride away for day trips to ocean beach, mission beach, and La Jolla

Pros: The bed linen was luxurious. The bathrobes are fleece lined with an sateen finish on the outside- I love a good hotel bathrobe. The staff were all professionals and very nice. The rooftop bar and pool were perfect aswell. We loved our stay. Small touches in the bathroom like a seperate shampoo and conditioner rather than a 2 in 1 just added to the feeling that this hotel wasn't trying to cut corners
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Modern property; felt new.
Cons: Beds were very uncomfortable and restaurant has very poor and limited choices for a pregnant woman.
