Location, Value, Staff. We walked to the Riverwalk Outlets, Dragos, Harrahs Casino, Aquarium. We got a cab ride to the French Quarter and Bourbon St. The hotel was very clean and the suite was very spacious with 2 TV's. I loved the rich history of the building. It was originally a bank and still has the vault, teller service windows, etc on the lobby.
VERY noisy. I could hear a lot of hallway noise. Also, it may have just been the night we stayed (Thursday) but at 4:30 AM the city came down Poydras to empty the dumpsters (very loud) and it woke the toddler (sigh). That can possibly be chalked up to wrong place, wrong time but just be aware if you're staying on a Thursday night. Parking was too expensive but to be fair that's ALL hotels in the area. The hotel was once a bank so there are very few (if any) extras...no roomservice, no spa, etc.

Of the three prepaid rooms our group booked far in advance, only two were available and there was no roll-away bed available for the room in which three people were staying. One couple in our group had to take a taxi across town after about 20-30 minutes of searching for an open room. One person in the room sans roll-away bed had to sleep on the floor. The following day, another room was made available, however, no one from the hotel informed the group in the room without the roll-away that they needed to more their belongings until after everyone was out and about for the day. The hotel called us throughout the day, interrupting our plans. The manager was very rude and didn't seem to understand that the hotel was interfering with plans made months in advance. Eventually, we were bothered so constantly that some members of the group returned to resolve the situation in person. Overall a very bad experience. I have traveled quite a bit, and my experience at this hotel is the worst that comes to mind.

The rooms were TINY. The furniture in the rooms were pretty chewed up. There really weren't any extra amenities. It's expensive for what you get. For about $10 more, you can get a bigger room at a hotel that is closer to the French Quarter. Yeah, the staff was great, but I don't pay extra for helpful staff.
I booked this hotel in April 2014 for my trip in November 2014... i confirmed two days before my trip and everything was all set. We arrived and the lady behind the desk said there was a letter that was left for her that stated we needed to be sent to another hotel. No reason given and she wouldn't let us see the letter...ok... so we went to the other hotel which was conveniently located right in the middle of the French quarters... upon arrival we were told that they had no offiliation with the whitney nor do they know why we were sent there...after telling us we had to pay triple what the Whitney charged I explained that was not far to us...i was willing to pay the same rate as the Whitney but I was certainly not paying triple! One of the managers came out and accommodated us with a free night! Therefore I recommend taking your business to the Bourbon Orleans hotel!
Good walking distance to casino, canal, 4 blocks to bourbon st. The sound of traffic soothe me to sleep.
Staff unfamiliar with parking garage attached to same building. THE PARKING GARAGE ATTACHED IS NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS! AND CLOSES AT 9 PM ON WEEKDAYS! $49 charge will be put on card upon check out and supposedly will be returned in a few days if room checks out okay. Contact number goes completely out when trying to call! This building is very difficult to find! Drive back and forth to only be lost over and over again.

Very nice. Most staff was very helpful and friendly. Close to French Quarters but not in it which made it quieter.
The bathroom leaked water off the counter and the TV remote didn't work even after changing batteries. No frig or microwave. Also valet parking only, which costs $32 a day and couldn't get to car without waiting 20 minutes to have it brought to you.
The parking lot across the street is $25 compared to the hotel charging $39 a day.
We had two married couples staying there. We booked a room with two beds, unfortunately they didn't have any rooms with double beds...even though I booked this room well in advance of our arrival and even followed up the week we were staying to make sure the reservation was correct. The only solution they would offer was a room with a King Bed and a rollaway cot. The cot could only fit one person so three people had to share the King Bed. As if that wasn't enough, the A/C unit barely worked. If you don't like sharing a bed with your friend's wife and can't sleep in an 80+degree room, then stay away. The shower pressure is horrible as well. I will never stay here again. Also, never book with getaroom.com. Their customer service was not helpful even after I contacted them and they offered zero solutions.
The front desk staff was amazing. There was a mix up and they fixed it right away and were super polite!
The rollaway bed that we needed was very uncomfortable.
