Staff was great Room was a bit run down and in need of some upgrades.
The bed was comfortable, shower had good pressure and temperature, room was clean, booking was straightforward, check-in was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. We were looking for a comfy place to sleep & a hot shower and that's exactly what we found. Rooms are outdated and well used. Room was clean, but walls, ceilings, and bathroom could use some attention and repairing of cracks, stains, and holes. Breakfast was a basic contenintal with a waffle iron, but didn't have cooking spray to use it. But didn't expect much more for the budget price.
The location is good, near shopping and transportation.
Location! Right on Main Street. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. The price was a bit high for the quality of the motel, but it's proximity to downtown makes up for that. Some really weird characters... seems like they may have full time residents at the far end.
The location on Main St Newark is great. You can walk to the many restaurants and bars in this college town. The motel is just that; a motel. I did not expect the Marriott, just wanted it to be clean and well maintained, which it was.
Its in the middle of a very noisy location and people were noisy up until 03:00 a.m.. It was not very clean. One room they gave us had never been vacuumed and their was hair in the bathroom, second room a.c. did work.
Nice little room Na
That they did not have a microwave and they had water stains in the ceiling which is indicative of a leak and also the top of the lamp shade was burnt. Other than that I enjoyed my stay
It was close, and the room was amazing. The bathtub had stains but it was clean.
Rooms were clean and orderly Random people trying to enter room
Friendly staff and the bed was very comfortable.
The good- the staff definitely works hard. Courteous desk staff. Completely clean, no bugs or evidence of bugs, which is more than what I expected, updated, new-looking linens and decor. The TV has a reasonable channel range, and the bed isn't uncomfortable. Water was fine, hot water available and with decent pressure. We didn't eat at the breakfast provided, so I can't comment on it, but I can say that there is an IHOP pretty nearby. There was an odd smell in the room when we first walked in, sort of chemically, but nothing unbearable. I'd rather smell chemical than something sketchy, and soon we didn't notice it at all. There is some noise from the highway, and I don't know if the couple in the room above ours were over exuberant or the walls are just thin, but I was definitely kept up by their activities. There were some repair issues-the toilet was even but its seat was not because it was missing a piece. There were a few other minor repairs needed. The staff is trying, the hotel is clean and up to date, the price is reasonable, but I wouldn't want to stay here more than one night. I don't know that I'd stop in again. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.
Got to this "hotel" at 11:30pm. First I got keys to a room which they also used as storage. After complaining they gave me the keys to a second room. Both beds on the second room had hairs and dirt under the conforter. They told me it was one of the best rooms and if i wanted they could show me other "good rooms". I drove 5 minutes away and paid $25 extra a night and stayed in a Best Western that had free breakfast, a great location and was spotles. Lesson learned. Spend a little more but have a stay in a great place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this super 8.
