Pros: wonderful beach, very clean, great gardens, very nice timeshare unit with all conveniences, well-equipped gym
Cons: It would be nice to have a real restaurant.
The parking spaces were very narrow
no lap swimming pool
roosters wake me up at 4 am

Step out of your rental and enjoy the many facilities our luxury resort has to offer, from swimming and sunbathing at our three outdoor pools to al fresco dining at Honu Pool Bar. And be sure to indulge in a pampering massage in one of our on-site cabanas during your Poipu Beach vacation! Last but not least, if you're looking to explore, our resort is just a short distance from fascinating attractions, including Spouting Horn Park and Old Koloa Town. We're looking forward to making you feel special here at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club.
Pros: great pools and beachfront location, amazing landscaping
Cons: resort is almost too large. Also, some areas need a good scrubbing. In the 5 days that we were there, pool was not vacuumed and pool tiles need to be scrubbed.
Pros: Beautiful property. Ocean views are well worth the price. Our room included breakfast brunch which was extensive and on an open floor with fantastic facility/ocean views.
Cons: You have to rent (read: pay) for cabanas.
Experience graceful grandeur at this Hawaiian classic resort set on the soothing white sands of Kauai’s sunny south shore. This exquisite resort beckons with 50 acres of lush gardens and pristine pools. Amenities abound from golf at Poipu Bay Resort to fresh island flavors at resort restaurants to the lavish, open-air Anara Spa. Hawaii TAT Number: TA-207-370-2400-01
Pros: Facilities are more intimate than the neighboring mega resorts (Hyatt / Marriott). Top notch service with great amenities. Rooms are well appointed and the beds are some of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in (and we travel A LOT). Pool is quiet and very relaxing. Beaches are steps away and provide a relatively quieter experience than the surrounding beaches.
Cons: Restaurant is overrated and overpriced. Just tries too hard to be something it isn't. Pool bar is wonderful, but drinks are a bit pricey ($14-16 avg)...that said, they are delicious and the bar tenders are great (shout out to Jamie!). Not much to complain about here, this resort it top shelf.
Pros: Excellent service, very nicely appointed rooms, truly oceanfront experience without the gaudy mega resort layout to navigate to get a great view and easy beach access. We had a garden view room, but unlike big hotels where that means a view of the parking lot, this faced a nicely manicured and quiet lawn area, and all you had to do was step out and you could see the ocean. Every time we passed the big vacation club next door with the screaming kids, aqua-aerobics, and vacationers packed like sardines next to each other, I was grateful that I had booked this place.
Cons: Pool bar was not open for many hours, pool was too warm and shallow for any real swimming, and it would be nice if there was self parking allowed, but it's a small hotel, and I get they don't have the space!
Pros: We Really liked the easy access to all the amenities. Large resorts are a drain on a laid back vacation... Large resort this is NOT. We really enjoyed being just steps away from the beach and pool area. We would definitely come back!!
Cons: The reviews for Red Salt sounded astounding. We are there our first night and wasn't impressed. The food was definitely okay but just not as astounding as the reviews led us to believe.
Located on the south shore of Kauai, Hawaii’s “Garden Isle”, the surrounding area enjoys year-long, gorgeous sunny weather ideal for outdoor activities. Just steps beyond the patios of oceanfront guest rooms is Poipu Beach, one of Kauai’s most swimmable beaches, popular for snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and other water sports. An on-site beach activity center provides equipment rentals, lessons, and local recommendations with ease. Nearby, hike ocean cliff-top trails, explore charming Old Koloa Town, tee off at Kauai’s best golf courses, or visit spectacular natural sites at Spouting Horn and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. Any time of year, stay golden at Ko`a Kea Hotel & Resort.
Pros: The personable service of the staff and the location near a swimming beach and some good restaurants. The nice touch of having coffee, fruit, small snacks and candy treats throughout the day. They also have towels, beach chairs and other accessories for the beach available for no cost.Twice during the week the owner made a delicious sweet potato pie with fruit on top. If you're looking for a small boutique inn and not a major change give Garden Island Inn a serious look.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find but once we did the location was convenient to shopping, groceries, restaurants and getting to both parts of the island.
Pros: The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. We were offered complimentary use of snorkle equipment, beachchairs, towels, umbrellas, sunblock (!) and leisure books. For night we checked out two DVDs (no rental charge) and were given a free bag of microwave popcorn to enjoy with our films!
Pros: Paintings, welcoming staff, sweet potato pie breakfast, gardens
Cons: Close to road and was occasionally noisy
Pros: We liked the location to the beach, and the value for the room. There are restaurants and shopping nearby.
Cons: It took a long time to get luke warm water for the shower, the rooms are small, but you can't beat the value of the rooms.

Queen sofa beds offer additional sleeping space, while entertainment centers (cable TV with a DVD player), and washers and dryers round off the amenities list. Wired Internet access is available in rooms for a fee. The Point at Poipu offers ocean front elegance on Kauai in sunny Poipu.
Cons: We have stayed at your location before and this time we were booked in an ADA room. I was really really upset that our bath tub was not as it was before. No other rooms were available but I was really looking forward to the tub in the rooms we had previously stayed in.

Cons: Unfortunately just wasn't what we expected. Checking in was fine. We had a amazing view of the back of the restaurant and seeing all the servers smoke and talk story, maybe that's why their service sucked so much! On a number of occasions we tried to trade out wet towels for dry towels but there were no clean towels! Even when it rained and our towels were soaking wet they didn't have dry ones to dry ours kids off when getting out of the pool, hopefully they don't get sick! There was a lot of inconsistency when it came to security and checking for the slide. Some workers would allow my kids to go and others would say they weren't tall enough. We ate at the restaurant on 3 different occasions every time the service was awful. Pricing for food was really high for the amount and quality you were getting. The last day our server by the pool was awful. She never wrote anything down so forgot everything we ordered. After an hour of putting our food order in she said they were trying to look for hot dogs and couldn't find any, I could have gone to big save in that amount of time and cooked them up and fed my children. We ordered something else that took another 45 min. There was no sorry or anything for the time it took to just get our food. When you have starving children in the sun all day not the best time to be taking a while to get food. We depended on the restaurant because we were in a studio and couldn't cook anything. No one warned us about bringing our slippers in from our slider door and how awful the water smells. In the morning after the sprinklers went off, all of our stuff smelt like sewage!!! We called and asked for a later check out and they apologized but someone would be checking Into the room, since we could see the room from the restaurant they didn't even get to cleaning it until after 5 pm!!! i am just so shocked they have such a huge place with great potential and you can't even find a manager around. I know they are now merging with Marriott but go to the Waiohai you will have a much better experience.
Pros: Clean, new facilities and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A variety of excellent restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.
Cons: It's a bit of a walk to a sandy beach but there's not a lot of it on this coast. Construction of the new pool area was a bit of an eyesore but they'll be complete soon.
Pros: Everything, the staff was excellent
Upon arrival in our open-air lobby, guests are greeted with fresh flower leis and either tropical punch or Mai Tai’s. Each of our deluxe studios or villas seamlessly blends island comfort and easy elegance to make you feel right away at home - relax on your expansive lanai, or use your fully stocked gourmet kitchen or kitchenette and enjoy an authentic island meal - at Koloa Landing you are home.
Cons: Not good value for money. Hidden taxes on top of room fee, plus compulsory resort fee on top of that. Go somewhere else.
Pros: Room 1190 and the staff.
Cons: The shower head was low. I,m 6'4" :)
Pros: Pool was great.
Cons: Too many young children.
Pros: We were thrilled to stay put at the Marriott Resort then take day trips throughout the island. Whatever we needed was provided. Convenience was key, access the same. We'll do this again.
Cons: Such a great resort but it is looking a little shop worn in places. But, that comes with popularity and use.
Pros: -Close to Airport
-Huge pool kids love
-Located next to Dukes
-Overall a great choice I've stayed her several times and I'll do it again
Pros: Great location and friendly staff
Cons: Resort fee - we were there during hurricane and could not use all aspects - but still had to aay resort fee
Pros: The pool is amazing! You can't beat it. The hotel is right next to the beach and the rooms are very clean, fresh, and comfortable. No musty smell like another place we stayed at. We loved everything here and we were sad to leave!
Pros: Amazing grounds, and wonderful staff. You'll love the pool and beach. The on-site restaurants were delicious.
Plus, when we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they upgraded our room and even provided a complimentary bottle of bubbly.

The outdoor pool is a great spot for a morning swim, and guests can get a workout in at the 24-hour fitness center. A spa tub and 8 outdoor tennis courts are offered, and homes at this upscale property have conveniences like washers/dryers and refrigerators.
Pros: The location was great and the surrounding grounds fantastic. The beech was a short walk, the grounds were pleasant and the whole area was beautiful. We had a great time there.
We arrived early and while early check-in wasn't possible, the staff was really friendly and helpful -- supplying beech towels and storing our food that needed to be refrigerated.
Cons: The unit was a bit flawed. The carpets are very worn and the supplied kitchen supplies minimal.
Situated on the sunny south side of Kauai, Aston at Poipu Kai provides an unforgettable backdrop for your Hawaii vacation. Stay in one of five condominium communities that comprise the resort, each with its own distinctive style and charm. Choose from one, two, and three-bedroom suites and a collection of three and four-bedroom private homes. Enjoy full kitchens, in-room washer/dryer and a private lanai. Our resort is also within easy access to Poipu Beach, Brennackes, Shipwreck Beach, Poipu shopping, dining, golf and a variety of activities. Resort amenities include: swimming pools, outdoor barbecues, walking/jogging paths and tennis courts.
Renovation notice: Aston Poipu Kai's pools is being renovated from 08/14/17 through 10/31/17. We apologize for the inconvenience. Check-in will changed from 3pm to 4pm effective 09/01/17.
Cons: The resort appears to be concerned about vacationers stealing from the hotel. Towels must be checked in and out with a towel card. Failure to turn in a towel card at the end of the stay will result in a $20 fee per card. Our iron was attached to the ironing board via a short cord. This made it very difficult to use. I assume the cord was to prevent me from taking the iron home? This is the first time I've run into issues over towels and irons. Otherwise the resort was okay.
Pros: The pool area is awesome. Several selections for food and cocktails. Free valet available. Daily room service. Lobby is beautiful. We were very happy with the resort.
Cons: The additional resort fees added to your bill at the end. Most of the resorts have it but it was still disappointing.
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were very nice the grounds are completely beautiful and the pools are the nicest we've seen anywhere!
Cons: Not electronic friendly rooms (plugs/USB)
Parents not supervising their children around pool and grounds
Pros: So many pool options
Cons: Non swimable oceanfront
Pros: I liked the free shuttle to and from the airport. There's also a free shuttle from the resort to a shopping center in Lihue. It was helpful to go to the grocery store there and get snacks instead of solely relying on Resort food, which was good but it gets pricey. The property was big and not overly crowded. It was my first time on the Island (February 2016) so I don't know if crowds change during the rest of the year. The staff was friendly and helpful anytime I had requests/questions.
Cons: You absolutely need a car unless you plan to spend the entire time lounging at the resort. I did manage to walk along the beach heading North to Lydgate Park. From there I was able to hike even further North to Kapaa and the Kauai Eastern trail. I absolutely did not mind the walk but it is a looong walk (more than 10 miles). Also, there were a lot of hotel taxes. Not sure how their prices compare to other areas of the island, but I'd look elsewhere when I visit Kauai again. I didn't have a car but there where even more taxes for every night of having a car.
Pros: I liked how friendly all the staff members I encountered were. Everyone seemed truly happy to work there.
Cons: The condition of the room and hallways. So many conditional and cleanliness issues. I mean come on color Xerox room service menu? When it was the Hilton it was a lot better.
Pros: We loved the multiple pools, clean environment, on site restaurants and friendly staff. We would definitely return. The location on the island is excellent too as you are close to multiple towns and equally spaced from the north and west beaches
Cons: Only issue we ran into was the hot water ran out a few times shortly after beginning a shower. Maybe there was a family of 10 next door, not sure. Otherwise, there were no real complaints!
Pros: The pool area and hotel set-up is very nice. The pool area is big enough to accommodate the hotel occupants so the area never seemed crowded. There were always enough pool chairs for anyone who wanted them.
Cons: Our room had 2 pills and a bottle cap on the floor from previous occupants. The carpet edges next to the walls in our room were dirty also.
Pros: Food and drinks were good. The room itself was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. It was convenient to the airport if you have an early flight.
Cons: The beach was not very nice; no room to lay out or go in the ocean. There wasn't even enough beach to walk on. The pool towels were too small. The wifi did not work well at all.
Overall it did not have the Hawaiian vibe we found on the rest of the island.
Pros: I spent a very relaxing overnight at this hotel. Whenever I go to Kauai for an overnight trip, I like to stay here. I am treated very well by the staff. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable.
Cons: I wasn't able to get 2 beds.
Pros: We loved being able to watch the whales from the beach in front of the resort.

Pros: The location was great and we wound up in a garden view room which was really nice.
Cons: Front desk staff was not great.
Cons: My flight didn't leave until 10:30pm I was only able to extend my checkout until noon.
Pros: The aloha of the staff was the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Our housekeeper Delilah was the most friendly, accommodating and welcoming person I think we've ever met. She really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We'd go back just for her.
Overall, the grounds are very clean as are the rooms. The place is a tad dated but well cared for. Our room had an outstanding view in bldg 1.
On site restaurants were good but pricey. We opted to drive offsite nearly every night for more reasonable fare.
The locations is prime. Great beach, nice pool, and very close to retail shops and very good restaurants.
Cons: Our laundry facilities were in bldg 2 on the other side of the grounds. It would be nice to facilities in each bldg. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were terrible. Down and foam filled were the only two options - both of which tend to flatten out to nothing which offers zero support for your head and neck.
Pros: The location was convenient to where I needed to be. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The building I stayed in was quite far from the main desk area and the valet car pick up area.
Pros: We spent one night and two days on Kauai while visiting family on Oahu. The Sheraton was perfect for this. We were able to check in early and to check out late, making the most of our little time on the island. The room was clean, bed super comfortable and the staff were all helpful and friendly.
Cons: Like most resorts, most things on the grounds were pretty expensive.
Pros: Location is good: right on the water, with sunset views. This is the only good thing about this hotel.
Cons: Room was outdated, and tiny. Beds were saggy and uncomfortable. The tiles around the pool were broken or missing. We ordered a couples massage and found out the day before they don't even have a spa on-site, they farm it out to the Wyndham down the road. $30 resort fee per day that they didn't tell us about ahead of time. Although we of course didn't let it ruin our time (we were in kauai afterall!), this hotel was incredibly disappointing.

After you wind down and refresh following a glorious day outdoors, bring everyone together for dinner and choose from a delicious selection of international cuisine. With golden-sand beaches and misty sea breezes just footsteps away, you’ll feel right at home at the Sheraton Kauai Resort.
Pros: Affordable and well located. Restaurant is a must!
Tip Top Motel Cafe & Bakery puts you 1.8 mi (2.9 km) from the airport and within a 10-minute drive of Lydgate Beach Park. Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out Tip Top Cafe, which serves breakfast and lunch.
Pros: The room was large and exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the private verandah off our room with beautiful plantings creating privacy. Lovely pool area and continental breakfast. Staff were very attentive and because our room was ready, they were kind enough to let us in much earlier. They have SPECIAL SPECIAL rates for all of Kauau's activities. You'll enjoy this boutique hotel. We'll certainly be back.
Cons: Towels for pool were too small and worn. Fluffy towels are good.
Pros: Very unique, quaint hotel. Clean room, very friendly staff. It was nice that there were washers/dryers on site for laundry
Cons: Slightly off the beaten path, if you care about that (I don't). A/C unit was very loud. I had to shut it off, because it kept waking me up
Pros: Room was nicely appointed with comfortable bed.
Parking was very convenient and the young man who checked us in was very nice.
Cons: AC was so loud that it was impossible to get a good night sleep, even the neighbors AC could be heard in our room. A little better cleaning wouldn't hurt either. My wife dropped an earring and found quite a bit of dust and a sock under the bed.
Pros: Low key relaxed setting in lush gardens. This old style Kauai hotel has air conditioning, large flat screen TV, good shower, local pets to entertain you, continental breakfast and very accommodating staff. We stayed for one night but could have stayed longer.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Will stay there again
Pros: Room was very clean.
Cons: Decor was dated and rooms are showing their age, but everything was in working order.
Pros: Mid point from all the attractions.
Cons: Outdated decor and roosters crowing at all times of day. The coffee and complimentary breakfast/snacks weren't on time at the stated 7:30am
Kauai Inn puts you just 3.6 mi (5.8 km) from the airport and within a 15-minute drive of Lydgate Beach Park. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with lanais and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: I like our ocean view room, but because it was literally right next to the elevator it was classified as the garden room to offset any noises from the elevator. However, we did not hear any noises even though we are light sleepers. The room was clean, unlimited towels was nice. The calm ocean beach front was excellent, as well as the amazing pool which was opened until 10 pm! The bar was nice too! The king crab buffet was ok for $53, we enjoyed it. Best it was centrally located to both north, south , east and west of island. I had an amazing stay and did not want to leave.
Cons: I wish the bar and pool
Would open until 11or midnight. The room
Services sucks, really expensive for the food you get. Definitely not worth the money. We ordered peppercorn steak $40 and roasted vegetable salad $15? , and porguese soup, all was below average. I hope it was because its 10 pm at night that's why food service was awful, but what's the point of room service if the food is gross regardless of time ordered.
Pros: Location, beautiful island
Cons: We were tricked into a room with a Murphy bed. Super uncomfortable. Also"ocean view" room was a view of a wall

Cons: There were a lot of ants. The AC was quite old and loud.
Pros: Proximity to everything. People were nice. Bed was fairly comfortable. They had coffee in the morning. The landscaping was very well kept up with.
Cons: The back side of the building wasn't very impressive and that is what you see when you drive up. The room was small. Other than that, everything was fine. Parking was a little tight but still sufficient.
Pros: It was so convenient; being in a excellent location. It was very clean and had modest physical replacements to a older quaint hotel. It I is nice to wake up with freshly made coffee in the lobby. Convenient parking. Quiet location for a good nights rest. Great price for modest hotel. Considerate staff
Pros: I liked how quiet it was for the overall stay.
Cons: I had to wait till 3pm to check in when I stated I would be there before noon.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and room service was available when requested. The price was pretty great as well. A good hotel for someone staying for a few days.
Cons: There was an ant problem in the bathroom, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and my floors appeared as though they haven't been swept in a while. It would have been nice to have breakfast available too.

Pros: Booked the resort because we were staying extra days after staying at a condo nearby. I thought it would just be like any other hotel. I was really surprised at how awesome the whole place was.
Cons: No microwave in the room. Would of been nice to reheat left overs from all the places we ate at.
