It is a great experience with much given privacy, complimentary breakfast great accommodations such as a walk out balcony to smoke swimming pool sana hot tub and slide for swimming pool
The thought of a poolside room sounds great, right? Well the thought of a poolside room was nice... but that's just about it. Location was great, right off of a main road, easy to get to. Actually having a poolside room was horrible. Sounded like kids of all ages, up to young adults, we're non stop screaming and being loud. All through the night all you could hear were drunk loudmouths sitting at the pool acting absolutely retarded.. which would have been fine if we were one of the many other tweaker that were there that doesn't sleep. Not to mention the paint on the walls were peeling, the leaking faucets, the jack and Jill rooms that were never mentioned, the plugged toilet that never got fixed, the main door not shutting all the way to where u had to use the deadbolt to lock it shit, or the broken latch on the glass sliding door to the pool was busted, the rec area outsidea was trashed the entire stay, garbage, food even feces all over. Or best of all.. the concierge. That looked down on us every chance he had, disrespected us every time we tried talking to him, refused to give us extra towels or pillows, didn't tell us where our room was or how to get to it, didn't tell us about the breakfast, WiFi information, or anything about the check out time. Oh, and never answered the phone when we tried calling the front desk. Also, our key cards never worked for any of the other entrance doors and had to walk about a half mile just to get from our vehicle to our room. I am disabled and can't walk as well as others.
Is it the Taj Mahal . . . no. Is it a clean comfortable room with amenities, yes. Since we were traveling with our dog it was important that they had allowances for that & they do. The continental breakfast was adequate for an expensive hotel, but excellent for the price of the hotel. House keeping did an excellent job & the front desk personnel were very friendly & accommodating. We will definitely be staying here in the future. I'm trying & I cannot come up with a negative.
I liked the location and the hotel layout was very interesting. I very much liked the size of the room which was exceptional. The pool area is very nice and quite grand. I was disappointed to discover that the hotel allows smoking in some areas and of course, despite their attempt to keep me distant, I could detect it. Even more disconcerting was the apparent lack of interest in details on cleanliness. I am not overly sensitive, but many people I know would not stay there. My room was fine, but the rest of the hotel felt very unkempt. The elevator was incredibly dirty - I wondered how long it had been since anyone had mopped the floor, even the walls were grimy and stained. I did not want to touch the handrail. This left me doubting the cleanliness of the rest of the hotel. For many of my business associates this would be a deal breaker. The breakfast appeared to have been hastily and thoughtlessly prepared. Boiled eggs that must have been a week old. The first morning there was no milk or cream for the already very bad coffee Loose the powdered creamer and put out milk or half and half. Powdered creamer screams "budget" - a very poor sign. Prepare better coffee - people expect it. All these unattended to details left the impression that the hotel was hanging on, or days away from going out of business. The room was very reasonably priced but I would have been happy to have paid more for the room if the hotel had been cleaner. Also..kill the smoking. Not acceptable.
Pool and indoor picnic area, except the hot tub was tepid and the floor needed cleaning. Main pool was a nice temperature. Inexpensive. Unprofessional hand-lettered room numbers put up on cardboard, sticky sliding glass patio doors, dirty carpet and walls.
Customer serves was excellent. Breakfast was well worth it. Location and setting was excellent. Could have been more updated.
Nothing, The room smelt like smoke and were really dated, the pool was cold, the continental breakfast was a joke. The list could go on for ever, i mean the shower didnt drain, the tv was 20 years old ,the hot tub was warm not hot. Spend your money somewhere else. I dont have anything nice to say about this place.
Location is near Howard Amon Park where music festival was being held. I was there to perform at that festival. Room was large and clean. Hot breakfast was good each day. Quiet. We went on to tour further east and stopped again at Shilo on the way home. Room was small and had a musty smell. Asked for no stairs but there were several stairs to access room. Noisy neighbor upstairs yet hotel was practically empty. Breakfast was still good!
Comfortable bed! My room was in disarray when I first entered it. Coffee machine on the bed, garbage can on its side, chairs all over the place. Fortunately it was a comfortable bed. Breakfast was also pretty meager.
Older needed a bit of a facelift.
It was great to be on the river with access to the river trail and a nearby park. Our room had a river view too. Clean room with a comfortable bed although decor was a little dated. in-room fridge, microwave and complementary complete breakfasts were nice pluses, all for about $75 a night. They also allowed a dog for an extra $15 a night. It's not a luxury hotel but a very good deal for the price.
price was about $20 less than nearby hotels
The check in were painless and quick. Also early check in accommodation were made for us. There are only one elevator so the wait can be long.
The hotel was going through a remodel, so the lobby was a mess. That wasn't a big deal, since we didn't intend to use the lobby for anything. I booked through a 3rd party, but the hotel was nice enough to upgrade us (at no charge) to the river view side versus the city view side. Very nice staff in all areas; front desk, housekeeping, maintenance. The room was very clean. We live about 10 minutes from this hotel. We decided to make it a family fun night/day and stay at this hotel for the pool only. Unfortunately, the pool water was FREEZING! And the jacuzzi was luke warm, at best. What a huge disappointment. We talked to the front desk twice and even had a maintenance employee check the temperature. Everyone said it was a heated pool, but we found that hard to believe. Either their heater is broke or malfunctioning, or its a complete lie. We had 8 people swimming and all of them said the water was freezing. Again, what a huge disappointment. If we do this again, we will pick a different hotel.
Clean and very nice location Not much not to like. Some outdated decor but overall very nice
Beds were very comfy. I loved the concept with the shampoo conditioner soap dispenser in shower and sink area. Lighting was very dim.
Comfortable bed. TV placement, very generic feeling hotel with your typical unhealthy poor quality "free" breakfast.
Close to shopping, restaurants and Columbia River. The Red Lion is new property and located in quiet street so sleep is undisturbed by traffic except occasional train noise. The breakfast area is actually part of the hotel lobby and seems like a afterthought.
The bed was comfortable The bathroom had mold in the shower surround was coming off the walls. The entryways had burned two and we're covered in cobwebs and it's just a little dated.
Staff was responsive to needs. Room was freezing, then staff adjusted temperature and then it was sweltering. Horrible night's sleep for my husband.
Dirty bathtub and toilet. Long dark hair in tub. Called housekeeping and was taken care of.
The pool was very nice, large. Pool opened at 10am, which is a time crunch for the 11am check-out. The breakfast buffet lacked protein, except for eggs.
Great facility , nice rooms I didnt have enough time to enjoy the lounge , lol
Love it even though it could use some up dates. Great staff!! Great food! Really nice view. Has a lovely getting away feel. The beds could be softer.
The people were great and very helpful. We really enjoyed the island and the pool Lost power on Saturday and it took several hours to get back.
Overall just a nice stay. Nothing eventful which is always good. Nothing, just am enjoyable stay
Price Business was noisy and was under construction and smelled like paint. Breakfast needs more options like bacon or sausage.
View of the bridge and city lights at night was gorgeous. Great free breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff Hot tub was cold and full of dirt.
No reception at the pool and could keep one in the rooms. Bad internet
Our room was next to the elevators on the second floor right in front of the swimming pool. There were lots of kids staying there, running down the aisles and screaming in the pool. At night we could hear the ice making machine on the other side of the wall. The microwave kept beeping randomly. It was a noisy experience.
This is a great location, that has been ran down with no current updates. Yet, a good value for the price. Pros: Amazing FREE Breakfast Friendly Staff Located on River Good Food close by Soft pillows Close to historical downtown area Cons: Ran Down - out dated Hard bed Nasty old blankets terrible small TV, in my room was dark screen unviable to enjoy See above
Location Beds, lack of bedding
Great pool and breakfast!
Very friendly staff. Room was clean and nice. Pool was nice and well maintained. Bed was really comfortable, nice quality sheets!!!!
Great facilities: small business center, pool and spa, fitness equipment, excellent staff. Located in a somewhat out-of-the-way location. No restaurant in hotel and none within walking distance although several good restaurants are nearby if driving.
They switched us to a suite that was very nice and the AC worked fine. In the first room that we were put in the AC didn't work. We had the AC on but the temperature went up to 78 degrees.
Location Staff condescending A dump I would have ranked it at 1/2 star only but not an option Avoid!!
The bed was extremely comfortable and the front desk was very friendly, however, it would have been nice if the previous guest hadn't left his underwear hanging on the shower curtain or even better, if housekeeping had removed those when they serviced the room before I checked in
Our room had a bad smell from smoking. For what we paid it should have been nicer overall. The breakfast buffet was mediocre but cheap. But, the staff was kind and helpful.
NICE CLEAN ROOM, NICE ACCOMODATIONS NO FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
Nice beds. Clean room. Comfortable.
As I age, I consider myself leaning more toward being a hotel snob. I spent my fair share of years staying in the economy hotels in the cheap beds, and now I am choosier. Comfort is my number one concern, then a sense of luxury and the Red Lion fits that!
I was charged an additional fee by the hotel in addition to the price i was given through kayak. Didn't acruelly save money.
The cleanliness, low price and flexible cancellation policy. The room was not comfortable. Lighting was florescence and harsh. No warmth or hominess to the place. The other guests were loud in the evening. Many smokers on the balcony and a few barking dogs. It was ok for one night, but I will never stay there again. I would try a Motel 6 at a different location, but I would check the room before paying.
they were able to accomadate us on a short notice. They were located close to the convention center. You get what you pay for, hard pillows, very basic breakfast. My biggest complaint was the staff, who made multiple people wait 20 minutes check in, while she worked on her daily paperwork.
Very bad distinct smell in the room.
Super 8 was very accomodating when we had to adjust the number of rooms needed. They rented the breakfast area space for my niece's graduation party. the pillows were harder than rocks. The breakfast was nothing more than continental at best. I didn't find it good at all. The staff at times could be rude, for instance the day of the party the front desk person was getting all bent out of shape because she couldn't match up the name of the person who reserved the room to anybody in there. She could have asked if anyone knew instead of getting testy. There were no extra pillows to trade in for the hard ones.
Very complete breakfast. The hot tub was an unexpected treat. No complaints.

Good staff, breakfast, pool Walls are too thin. Can hear too much from neighboring rooms
Pool, free breakfast, price Its old outdated but price is right
Clean, quiet, good price No
It was everything it was supposed to be and that's awesome. That's what I'm looking for in a hotel and I would highly recommend these folks.
Walking into the hotel was greeted by the friendly helpful staff. The environment was clean and welcoming.I am handicapped so I requested a room close to the front desk & that request was granted. Room was very nice, bed comfy, and everything was clean. Honestly I can't think of any negative remarks..
Close to the area we came to see. 1. The first room they gave us had people working in it. 2. The pool was closed and we were not notified until we arrived. The pool was the main reason we booked this hotel. 3. The door of the 2nd room did not lock. We did not find this out until 10pm.
Lobby closed at night unable to contact an employee when I was accidently locked out.

I thought my stay included breakfast but it was $12.95 for a normal hotelish breakfast. I didn't really want to pay more money for that kind of mediocre food but by the time I realized it wasn't a complementary breakfast I didn't have time to go to a normal restaurant. Started the day with no breakfast. Coulda bought crappy breakfast for $12.95 but hate to spend extra for something like that. Anyway that wasn't a highlight of my day. Maybe make up your mind as a hotel if guests get the crappy breakfast or not so we can make plans around it.
It was a good place, right off the freeway but not so close that you hear the freeway. The room was comfortable and the other guests were quiet.
Quiet and clean No
New hotel. Nothing
The double queen room was spacious. HVAC controls we're easy to use. The ondoor pool and hot tub we're really nice. The breakfast offered a lot of variety. We needed extra pillows and only 2 were available.
The location and rooms were nice. The television didn't work, and it took a long time to fix. The staff was pretty grumpy, and my key card had to be fixed several times. This was the worst experience I've had at a hotel.

Great location! Noise proof--didn't hear anyone through the walls Staff was very helpful. Rooms were very clean.
Great hotel in Kennewick! Staff was friendly, everything was clean, and breakfast was good!
Staff was nice, pool and hot tub were good. Carpets were nice. Bathroom was large enough. Quiet. It was difficult to get to the place. We kept taking the wrong road getting in and out. More parking would have been nice.
Very clean. Comfortable beds. Effective and quiet heating system. Decent breakfast choices. Nice pool! The shower alternated between entirely hot(!) water and mostly cold water. Uncomfortable to an adult and VERY DANGEROUS to a younger child who does not know how to operate the controls. The television did not have access to all the channels stated.
It was located in a great area, lots of places to eat, close to Walmart and the highway The hot tub was not working and we were not told while checking in. The girl working the evening we checked was kind of rude
Great service No every thing was good
Hotel open only 3 weeks. Beautiful. Rooms laid out in one of the best floor plans I've seen. No room service but can bring food from the restaurant into the room.
Breakfast options were very good for being included in cost. Waffles, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt are all included and our favorites. Location. We were looking for one closer to highway but, the pool, gym,and breakfast amenities are worth the extra drive.
