The location and the little breakfast
We like the location and atmosphere provided by this hotel. It is great to have a breakfast available. The hotel staff is outstanding. All project themselves well. They look like they are there to address any issue with a quick and sound solution. However, we have never had any issue. This is our first choice, when coming to Phoenix for a long weekend.
staff was very nice and helpful!111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
Manager went out of his way to meet my room requirements and also checked us in early. Hotel staff said the private carts that transport you around Old Town work only on tips. Not True. One of the drivers who took us maybe a block and a half was insistent on $10 minimum charges and pointed at signage that you only see AFTER you are seated as his posted pricing.
Within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops.
One you figure the parking situation out, getting from the room to your car is a breeze Bath / shower is like Best Western quality. Parking lot is a bit confusing
The rooms were designed great and the breakfast was better than expected. I was charged a fee at checkout that I was not told about and then when I called to ask about it, no one would say what it was. I was told I would get a bill in the mail. It has been one week and no bill. I still don't know anything. This alone, even though my stay was great, will keep me from coming again.
Nice room, bigger than expected. Initially they tried to give room on first floor and said it would be noisy as it was near club across the street and I objected and the manager immediately found a more suitable room which was much appreciated. Breakfast was just okay. Eggs tasted powdered.
Good breakfast pleasant staff Noise. Noise street noises, hallway noises tilll 2 /3 am. on first floor. To bad nice hotel
Well executed overall in terms of aesthetics, efficiency and convenience. Exceptional staff. Robust offerings, notably breakfasts. No airport shuttle. A little difficult to locate initially. Neither is a deal breaker.
location by nightlife and old town, price, room size, cleanliness, breakfast sandwiches The room was kept very cold. I had to keep turning down the AC.
The room design / arrangement. The comfort of the bed. The misting system at the pool. The proximity to places to go in town. The breakfast / snack offerings that were included in the room cost. Most of all the front staff was always eager and ready to help and well informed The music at the pool; no country music was being played. The entrance to the pool required a room card to enter instead of just accessibly directly from the lobby.
Fantastic Pool and overall color pallet. The valet- especially Anthony was so helpful and absolutley made our stay in Scottsdale memorable. We loved taking the bikes out for a morning ride and then hitting up some of the great local restaurants. The room size was perfect for 2 people and we loved the decor! We can't wait to stay again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were clean. Great location, we walked to Giants Stadium and to many restaurants. Used the hotel bikes and enjoyed the pool with games. Workout facility is good. Food was good, not great. As friendly as they were, service was slow... we couldn't get into most of our rooms until 4:30 or 5:30 in one case. Service in the restaurant was painfully slow. We weren't in any hurry so it was ok, but if we'd had somewhere to be, it would have been a problem. Broken elevator was annoying.
Location was great Front desk staff who checked us in didn't make eye contact or seem to care. We were not advised that elevator was broken so had to lug our luggage up 3 flights. Pool "service" was nonexistent and I found the drinks to be overpriced. My friend later got stuck in the elevator after it had been "repaired" I communicated all of this to the manager and he was amazing. However, I feel like this hotel is misrepresented as a luxury hotel. Service and just the proprtt itself could use some updating.
Great location! The Saguaro is a vibrant boutique-style hotel. Perfect for families and young people (our daughter is 21 and LOVED it!) The beds were comfortable and our room had a private patio facing the pool. We really enjoyed our stay! Carpeting in the room needed to be replaced.
The hotel is minutes from Old Scottsdale, as well as easily accessible from highways and the airport. Very convenient.although Although we used the elevator to access our room on the 2nd floor, getting our luggage from the car in parking lot to the elevator was not easy due to the few stairs near the parking lot. Anyone with heavy luggage, a stroller or wheelchair would find the stairs a detriment. Suggest ramps replace the stairs.
Location, pool area Bathroom needs improvement. Shower wasn't working correctly and door was broken (wouldn't lock)
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room didn't have a fridge; didn't find out until almost midnight the second day of our stay that all other rooms had a fridge.
Rooms in bad condition. Need maintenance. Bar staff extremely slow and under experienced making drinks.
Located walking distance from great shopping and restaurants, this place was fine. Fun modern decor, friendly staff, and nice pool area. The room was very clean and well decorated. While the rooms are very clean, it could use some "touching up" from scuff marks on the walls and trim to chipped furniture. But, that's just be me being picky. I did feel like it was slightly overpriced for the old hotel turned boutique, but we paid for a clean room in a great location and at the end of the day, I'm fine with that.
Valet was solid. Couldn't believe the guy actually remembered my name as I walked up to get my car the next day.
Good hotel. Not great but probably the hippest hotel in the area. Great location. Be ware tho I rented I room with two beds and they had no record of it on check in so I had to take a king bed. Not a huge deal but was frustrating. Also the dj near the pool is absolutely terrible and really makes it unpleasant. He talks over the music and has terrible taste. Reservation was not as requested. The dj by the pool
Great location/proximity to Old Town. Didn't have ANY hot water during my stay. What's the point of a hotel room without hot water. Bed was also not comfortable.
We loved staying here in the very hot off season. The price was right for that reason I guess. It definitely felt like a much more expensive place. The two bedroom suite with pull out sofabed was great for us and our 3 children. (one grown up).\n\nExtremely comfortable beds. Good breakfast, good restaurant recommendations from the staff. It is always nice to have a kitchen. \n\nOne negative which is probably for all of phoenix is that the airconditioning is overly strong. But when I think of the alternative, I let that go.\n\nWe were there on our way up north to the Grand Canyon, but we looked forward to coming back again the night before our flight home.
The only thing nice about this hotel was the front desk personnel. The room we stayed in was a king size suite with a kitchen. The room looked pleasant upon entering, however, paint, pictures on the wall and furniture will not cover up MOLD!! Yep, the bathroom was full of mold. The bathtub had mold coming out of its side from the wall. The wall had mold growing from the inside out...paint cannot hide this. While taking a shower the lamp fell out of the top of the ceiling and had to be pushed back in as well as the knobs comings right off of the tub. The toilet did not flush correctly and was barely grounded to the floor. If you have severe allegies and asthma which I do, than go elsewhere you will be kept up all night by not being able to breath. Upon leaving, we let the staff know, however, they did not seem to care. This hotel needs a makeover, we were highly disappointed since this is a Hyatt and the name should carry it's reputation.
Management has horrible, arrogant attitude and does dot care about customers. 3 floors and NO ELEVATORS ! Furniture and Beds are outdated and worn out ! Appliances don't always work from one room to the next. Needs fumigating - Bugs in the carpet and sometimes in the beds ! Housekeeping does not always service your room daily, but the management has lots of excuses ! Just not a good place to stay. Other places are much more desirable for the money. Very overpriced for the service and/or non service and 'run down' property ! Located in the middle of Scottsdale Party District with Plenty of Noise ALL NIGHT LONG !
Booked this hotel as I brought my wife along on a weekend business trip and thought she would have lot of things to do in walking distance. Nice clean 1 bedroom suite on first floor. 2nd and 3rd floor rooms might be a problem if you have lots to carry as there are no elevators. Our room was facing Drinkwater and there was a loud club across the street until late at night but not loud enough to keep us from a restfull sleep in a great bed. There appears to be lots to see and do starting about 1 block from the hotel, but I finished my required work late Friday night, and so our plans changed for Saturday and Sunday along with cool rainy weather. Decent breakfast included each day. I come to the area several times a year and if I bring my wife again, this will probably be the choice to stay at again.
Great place to stay, very friendly staff, very clean, good location, will definitely stay again.
Our stay was very pleasant. Hot season so there were plenty of rooms available. We chose a 3rd floor suite not realizing there were no elevators. Next time - ground floor. Pool and lounge area were great for relaxing with a drink. Great breakfast choices and a comfortable dining room. Located in the heart of the dining and shopping areas in Scottsdale.
front desk is very polite and helpful, pool was very refreshing, outdoor tv in the open cabana, 2 grills, pretty good breakfast - good coffee. Rooms need a bit of updating but were very comfortable. Nice to have 2 separate rooms and a little kitchen. Large dressing room. No elevators but easy stairs. But there are lots of ground floor rooms. Ask to look at the pool or else it will be the parking lot. Close to town which is very walkable. Very good resterants and galleries. Go to the water park with all the fountains.
The front office staff are very friendly and professional. The complex grounds are clean, neat and well kept. The suites were spacious and offered plenty of supplies. There's a beautiful pool and covered sitting area for barbeques. The pool is non chlorinated which I really enjoyed. I will certainly stay again when I get back into the area. The only disadvantage to the facility, is there are no elevators to the upper levels (only 3 floors), but would be a disadvantage to those in poor health to climb stairs. I'm sure the facility would work with you in getting an appropriate room for those who cannot do stairs.
Great suite with kitchenette and flat screen tv in living area. Provides lite breakfast and evening snack for social hour so you don't have to eat out every meal. I always stay here when in Scottsdale. Close to old town and baseball stadium.
Front desk very friendly and helpful with directions. Hot breakfast was nice and more than just continental breakfast selections. Breakfast included meat, variety of cold cereals, beverage and juice selections very good. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and hard as rocks every morning. Sliced breads were hard but didn't matter as long as you were eating them as toast. Dinner appetizers were very good and filling. Hotel rooms were dark, stuffy and not comfortable for just sitting in the room to relax. Bed was very comfortable for about 3 nights, then started to feel hard.
If you are just bumming with the guys and need a place to bed down this place is ok. Breakfast in morning is basic but more than just rolls/juice. Biggest complaint is upper levels are only accessed via stairs. Quite inconvenient when lugging bags and clubs to upper levels.
First time visitor to AZ (loved it) and traveling with spouse and two adult children. Got a two bedroom suite for the kids and one bedroom suite for us and were impressed with the furnishings, layout, amenities, and cleanliness of the rooms. Check-in was a breeze as was checkout. Breakfast was OK (my family does not care at all about food, although I don't share their indifference) however, the coffee was great. The location was perfect for what we were there for (veg out after a more grueling tour of other parts of the state) and the public areas were very nice indeed. The pool looked fine, and was large enough to accommodate many users with ease. I cannot think of any negative things to say about this hotel.
The pool and patio area was great!! And friendly staff. Rooms need updating. And was hoping for a small continental breakfast.
We stayed here for super bowl weekend, when the demand was much higher than the supply in the Scottsdale area. With that said, hotels could have gotten away with a lower level of service because they just could, you didn't have options. However, the Hilton Garden provided some of the best service I've ever had at a hotel and I have traveled a lot and to many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world. Everyone was so very friendly and they had complimentary candy, drinks and football souvenirs for their guests. The location was ideal - right in the heart of old town, where all the action was going on. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable. Other than the Seahawk loss, nothing to dislike.
Friendly staff, great location, excellent breakfast
Staff attentive, professional, yet friendly. Water in lobby-it was 101! Coffee was great. Cookies were great-but unsure of ingredients-nuts? Cigarette butts all over outside area in early a.m. Wished for small continental breakfast.
Great location for getting around downtown Scottsdale.
Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is friendly. Check in/out process very quick Right on the street so a lot of traffic noise
We were only in Scottsdale or one night so we wanted something cheap and in the heart of Old Town and this was the perfect location. I'm a hotel snob so I'll have to admit that this hotel isn't the BEST of the best but it was alright. The room space is great, the bathroom is okay, the location is awesome, the pool is GREAT. The complimentary breakfast was nice, there are no cooked eggs or whatever, just cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, bakery goods, toast, english muffins, ETC. The staff was FRIENDLY and very helpful. I didn't like the quality of the blankets. The sheets and pillows are FINE but it's the blanket that I felt icky about. I'm used to the lobby having a guest bathroom but they do not have one. they have a bathroom behind the clerk desk and it has cleaning supplies in it, it was weird. If they could, they could just put in a divider or something to cover it up. Or build a door/closet in the bathroom.
The staff were very attentive and corrected a problem quickly. My room near the front of the hotel was too close to Indian School Road. I would have preferred a quieter room near the back.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, close to all that is old town Scottsdale! Mountain Dew machine out of order... I know it's petty but I need me my dew!
My family and I went to Scottsdale for a family trip/conference and had a FABULOUS time. The hotel was wonderful and in the heart of everything. All of Old Town was just outside the door. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was awesome and the underground parking was great. We will definitely visit Scottsdale again and will defintely stay at the Marriott.
The room, over all, was outstanding. The French doors separating the living space with the bedroom area was a wonderful touch. The staff was terrific, and the facilities were very good. We loved the hotel and enjoyed the area, with its shops and restaurants.
My suite had a king-size bed, small balcony, comfortable sitting area and desk. Refrigerator and coffee maker: nice conveniences. Several nice restaurants are within walking distance -- try The Gelato Spot for an unusual mix of artisanal pizzas or delicious gelatos. Parking and internet have a daily charge, which I did not like. Internet has replaced telephone as the hotels' cash cow. The restaurant offered a nice choice of breakfast foods. The staff was courteous and friendly. I'd stay there again.
I spent one night here and thought that the hotel was very nice, the staff was helpful and the room was very comfortable. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the pool area. It was a little small for the hotel size, but was still clean and well kept. Overall. I would love to stay at this hotel again!
This is a great Marriott for the price point. Rooms are big and have everything you need with the exception of a room safe. The location is great - walking distance from lots of shopping restaurants and coffee. What was so disappointing was the price for parking. If you valet its 13 a day which I get because its valet. What irks me is that its 9 a day to park yourself in the structure! Really? Being a guest at the hotel should at least allow you to park yourself for free - cmon Marriott gimme a break!
The marriott was an excellent chioce for all the travelers coming to the wedding. The staff was very helpful and the location ideal. I enjoyed my visit and would stay there again
We have our family reunions at this hotel and it's really fabulous! The only problem I experienced was in the restaurant. The children's menu had cheese pizza but the cheese had jalapenos, making it too spicy for my grandchildren.\n\nIt's conveniently located in the middle of all the activities in Downtown Scottsdale plus there are shops right outside on Brown.\n\nWe love this place! There is also comfortable furniture to sit in the lobby plus there is always cold water and Arnold Palmers to enjoy.
The only thing we were not happy about was the parking. Last year when we stayed we did not have to pay to park in the parking garage so we were suprised that they were charging $13.00 a night this year to park.
This hotel had a great room and everyone was very friendly. The main thing I did not like about it was that the pool was lacking a lot in atmosphere. It was just a simple pool with nothing great to offer. Other than that, I had no objections. There is a lot to do within walking distance and I had a good time while I was there.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Scottsdale. Being right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale it allowed you to walk to many Restaurants, Shops, Nightspots and Baseball Games. The staff was very helpful and the service was outstanding. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. All around great experience
The folks at the front desk were friendly enough but I found out that the on line travel website never forwarded any of my Marriott rewards informantion that I plugged in, so the hotel did not provide me with, newspaper, robes, single bed instead of requested 2 beds, etc unless I called and begged them. They were unable to validate my number until I called marriott and had them take care of it. Also, the hotel had construction going on and the drilling was quite irritating while trying to conduct some business... looks like they have lots more construction to go so call first for a quiet room. I will not stay there next month, will find another property. I have stayed there 4 times in the last 6 months and have had similar issues. t
the room was excellent, clean, the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff friendly. The breakfast was poor. the bread stale, the breakfast ini danish stale dry hard from refrigeration. The egg offered was disgusting; it was a little frozen round with a poor attempt to thaw on grill (they were cold in the middle with frozen water coming from them. I tossed the breakfast in the trash, drank the orange juice and went to McDs on my way .....
Night front desk was very kind an helpful. Breakfast was very good plenty of options Location was perfect, the streets an how the streets run were confusing though. The day front desk an manager were very rude. We wanted to pay for our room with cash an they wouldn't let us we had to run around looking for a bank to put cash into my account, after driving for 2 days with a trailer, the extra running around was stressful after thinking we could just check in an relax. We have an ADA certified emotional support dog because of my illnesses, an by law I don't have to disclose that nor do I have to pay extra for that... They charged me anyways. Our room had no towels or sheets on the bed. There were no cups for water No coffee or cups The pool was freezing cold for an indoor pool
