At the Stockton location i went to pick up NO car sent me away REAL BAD and I had a reservation auto mall. Down town location at least they make some calls to help customer I finely got my car at the Lodi location I LOVE THERE SERVICE

everything was not explained clearly, contract says one thing and we were informed differently very confusing but we ended up paying for their mistake. Very unprofessional, and also we made a reservation for a full size car they gave us a mid-size sedan Chevy cruze. I did rent cars from them in the past but this is the last time. I will not recommend this place to anyone else. Bad experience

Service folks at the airport & office were not as pleasant as they could have been. Drop off direction were not as described/ therefore key were locked in car to protect it from being stilen

Drop off was close to my airplane hangar, very convenient.

Pickup was 20 minutes from my arrival airport, in a bad section of town.

The vehicle was just fine. Clean and what is expected. Pick-up and drop-off were easy. The pick-up agent did not fill out the envelope w/vehicle/rental information, however checked the 1/4 tank mark. Vehicle was returned with slightly over 1/4 tank. The rental agreement was then placed inside said envelope and I kept those documents. At drop-off, everything was fine until the final bill where they charged me for a full tank ($130. 30% markup). According to the customer service agent I called, the pickup agent indicated an “full tank”. Even after submitting a picture of the envelope next to the rental agreement the customer service agent was unable to remove the fuel markup. And unwilling to push it to a supervisor at that time. It would need to go to the pickup location to verify first. Not sure what they’ll verify (their agent mis-entered the fuel status). Suppose to hear back in 5-7 business days. Won’t use Hertz again.

THE CAR THAT I WANTED AND PAID FOR ON LINE, WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT HERTZ, EVEN THOUGH THE WEB SITE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS. GOT A FLAT TIRE ON THE WAS BACK HOME FROM ARKANSAS. THE TOOL THAT YOU USE TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS WAS STRIPPED OUT, AND ONLY SPUN AROUND THE LUG NUT. HAD TO USE A TOW SERVICE, AND BUY A NEW TIRE. THAT COST ME OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. ONE OTHER THING...THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE WORN TO THE POINT THAT MADE SEEING WORSE THAN IF I HAD NOT USED THEM. IN CLOSING, HERTZ IS VERY LACKING WITH THEIR BASIC MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS. SHOULD I EVER HAVE ANOTHER NEED FOR A CAR RENTAL, I WILL USE ENTERPRISE.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
