Pros:Fairly easy pickup.Cons:They're operating a bait and switch. They lure you in with a low rental cost, then charge you 1.5X more in mandatory insurance than the car costs. I expect they make far more money on the insurance than on the rental fee.Reviewed Apr 20 2021

Two flat tires in 20 hours!Pros:The car was marginal and dinged up. Got one flat 8 hours into rental. No tire iron!? Waited 4 hours to have it fixed. They didnt care. Spare looked iffy. Filled up with air in morning. 4 hours later flat. Took 5 hours to remedy.Reviewed Sep 30 2016

Tourist bewarePros:As much as I love coming here as a tourist be aware that you will be a target. You will be ripped off. Whether it's price or extras. There is always something going to happenReviewed Dec 31 2016

Very poor customer servicePros:Brand new car (although everything still covered in plastic wrapper). The inbuilt Waze navigation was a nice touch, although it took awhile to figure out how to switch everything from Hebrew to English.Cons:Staff didn't tell us about pin code needed to start the car, and then wouldn't pick up their office phone. Ultimately had to call Thifty emergency services who explained the process to us. But by that time we missed an important part of our tour. Dropping off the car was a nightmare, beginning with the staff being LATE FOR WORK, and then being short-staffed, not telling us where to go, and being dismissive and rude. I will absolutely not use Thrifty again if I can avoid it.Reviewed Apr 17 2017

Horrible car with even worse serviceCons:Car wasnt clean, transmission was terrible, and the a/c worked off and on. Claimed a scratch was from us when it was there before and is trying to charge us. Told us its our problem and can fight it out with the credit card company.Reviewed Jul 12 2017

Not goodCons:Very old car, had over 52,000 km and numerous scratches and small dents; car had a special alarm, and upon rental was not told about it or how it worked, resulting in problems later with trying to start the car; only 250 km mileage given.Reviewed Jul 26 2017

Pros:The airco was fine. Petrol consumption good.Cons:I had a confirmation to pick up the car on sunday morning. It appeared to be a holy day. Office closed, despite the confirmation. So I had to postpone my trip a day. Very unprofessional and annoying. The car was quite old. Several times there was a start problem. As the booking appeared to be without a confirmation I had to take quite an expensive a insurance by Hertz, the company took charge of the booking, not Thrifty.Reviewed May 29 2018

CaesareaPros:The Mazda3 had good acceleration and power. I had no problem going up the hills heading into Jerusalem. There was plenty of room for 3 adults and our baggage.Cons:I am 6'4" so it was a little uncomfortable getting into the car although there was a surprising amount of legroom. I didn't like the pickup/drop off that required driving down three levels into a garage. We exited by climbing a flight of stairs. Luckily, we had dropped off our bags before returning the car.Reviewed Oct 22 2016

Pros:The staff were friendly and the process was smooth. Once the car was ready, the pick up and drop off were quite quick.Cons:The car was not ready at pickup and I had to wait over half an hour, and became quite worried that I would be late.Reviewed Sep 16 2019
