Pros:We had a clean, great-condition Mercedes for our road trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and back. The car ran well and we were pleased with it.
Cons:We arrived at the Thrifty Airport store at midnight. We had requested an SUV (like Toyota Fortuner) to accommodate our family on a road trip. We had called to check about the rental a couple of days prior and were assured. When we arrived, they didn't have our car and gave us a Mercedes, saying it was a luxury car, and thus an upgrade. However, the Mercedes was small for our family of 4 and luggage. They said we could call the next day and they would deliver us the correct car. I called multiple times (5+) and had challenges with customer service - Thrifty never delivered the correct car or gave us a straight answer.
Cons:The data for the online booking did not pull through to the local systems - and as a result I needed to switch providers. 100% fail.
Cons:Pickup was slow !!
Pros:Staff were reasonably helpful
Cons:Rented a premium car however interior was filthy with marks on the seat. With little effort I was able to clean off seat and interior, something that should not be required.
Cons:I got an unknown charge on my credit card without any explanation.
Cons:The computer systems seem old and slow, lot of sluggish beaurocrary.
Cons:Another driver hit our rental car while in Madrid. Thrifty kept over 500 Euros for the damage until the other driver's insurance. I have been calling and emailing Thrifty Madrid for 2 months and have not yet spoken to a human being, even though the insurance claim was already paid.

Pros:Great customer service: One of their employees helped us get our luggage all the way into the check-in counter inside the terminal.
Cons:They had no record of our reservation when we arrived. I had to show my confirmation email, so they knew what to charge us, and I'm not sure we got the level of vehicle we reserved.
Cons:They presented us a higher total price at first. I had to produce a copy of my booking to get the lower price I had booked the car for. The car had really poor performance. Anything over 50kmph was a lot of effort. It felt like the car was going to break down.
