Cons:Mandatory insurance charge hidden in the fine print. Doubled the cost of the rental! That’s was not included in the price quote!
Pros:Staff were friendly and helpful. We were assisted right away. Car met our traveling needs well.
Cons:Drop off instructions were a bit difficult find. It would have been helpful if staff would have instructed us in on after-hour drop off.
Pros:The staff was fine. The return process was quick and painless.
Cons:BEWARE!!! When you rent your car online you get a total cost of the car for the whole trip. THEN you get to the counter - in a FOREIGN country and all of a sudden that price you got when you reserved your car is NOT even close to the price you pay for the car to rent AND they hold 3 times the amount of the rental on your credit card - so you do not have access to those funds until you return the car and they hard post the amount due. There was no supervisor to speak with and no other cars that suited our needs available in another kiosk at the airport. We were traveling with a dog in a crate long with 4 suitcases. Size of car was of utmost importance - hence my feeling of "getting ripped off" by Thrifty/Hertz Rent a car. Do your research...if renting from them...make sure the bottom line you are told you will pay - is the bottom line with no "hidden" charges lurking in the background. I will be contacting corporate headquarters. I'm sure I'll get nowhere, but if this review helps just one person...
Pros:Car was clean and accommodated our overall trip needs.
Cons:Price jumped from $172 quoted to over $400+ upon final charge. The only difference was that I added basic insurance upon arrival and was not aware of the usuray amount it resulted in. Buyer beware as after 12 hours of traveling and being tired, I failed to get clarification prior to accepting the vehicle.
Cons:Booked online at what appeared to be a fair price. The offer included the insurance too. When at the Hertz - Thrifty desk I was told from the Hertz employee that the purchased insurance did not count and that we had to purchase a new one. Price increased 116%. When calling the online service of Thrifty to complain, I was talled and I quote “Listen you can do what you. Take it or leave it”. That is why “stay away”.
Pros:Great car and value
Cons:Drop off could improve, could not get a receipt from attendant.
Pros:Pickup and dropoff were convenience and were done quickly. The car was clean and meet our expectations.
Cons:The local rental agency did not accept the insurance which was made online along with the main reservation and charged us for a substantial amount. In addition, we were charged as an extra for using the car in a neighboring country (in europe) even tho we declared our intention to do so while making the reservation.
Cons:Original deal didn't include even basic insurance surprisingly which cost me 250 Euro +70 Euro for additional insurance I was told that insurance price is so high because I didn't make the order directly in Hertz/Thrifty Car delivered had to be diesel as per papers but in fact it was benzine car
Pros:I like that Herz was very tolerant and gave me a bigger car.
Cons:That a 15 doller insurance came on top of it and it was not calculated in the price. Bad idea, I never will use it again,

Cons:Once I arrived the agent did not honor the price I was quoted, I was charged 3x the quoted price. The per day price was my total (including fees) quoted price for 3 days. Was told I could not decline insurance, don't know if this was true or not but when I reserved, it gave me the option, as well as quoting all fees, which was nowhere near the actual cost. Last time I use kayak or thrifty for a car! Should of used Sixt!
