comfortable, clean and well fitted out rooms.friendly and helpfull staff parking very limited although car park being extended at present
The location was excellent for visiting other areas of Cornwall, providing city shopping, culture and coastal access. The hotel provided very modern, excellent decor & comfortable fbed & furniture. We were very impressed with the overall design. Eating facilities within the hotel complex provided an excellent choice at reasonable prices - we ate in the restaurant both evenings of our stay. The shower/bathroom was nicely designed but we did have a problem when we used the rubber safety mat in the shower. The fitting of the mat for the shower tray was the correct size but it did cover the outlet & if the shower was used on full power water flooded out of the shower tray. A smaller rubber mat would solve this problem.
Very comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent meals
The location. The bedroom was very small and there was nowhere to store our cases .It felt very claustrophobic with shutters at the window and running condensation in the morning. We could only open the window by climbing on the dressing table.
The whole atmosphere of the place, very welcoming and friendly. Staff were very good - very efficient. Lovely surroundings, rooms very comfortable. No
The bed and bedding and bathroom were excellent
dinner was lovely as was the waitress. Unbeatable position Breakfast was v v poor using cheap products inc bread, fruit juices, jams etc. Waitress in am was appaling and breakfast was stone cold
Was delayed on train journey & when I arrived all paper work ready for me & they were happy to do room service or open bar! None
Friendliness of staff and accommodation, although the room was quite warm I thought it was petty that the "classic" rooms do not get bath robes. I called to ask if we did get them as there were hooks in the bathroom for them, but was told that "classic" rooms don't get them, but the guy I spoke to said he would see if he had any spare ones. I said it didn't matter for that evening he could look the following day, but the robes were not forthcoming.
Excellent chef. Good all round restaurant service Reception staff were not all helpful. We were disturbed by unecessary calls from reception.
The superb position of the hotel with sea views from the restaurant. Well equipped room and comfortable bed. I did not like the poor state of the decoration and the dirty and damaged tiling in the bathroom.
This is the most beautifully located hotel for a relaxing treat. The food, rooms and staff are fantastic. Definitely 10/10
really nice staff, lovely apartment no
the room was very stuffy no air conditioning
Friendly staff. Cleanliness. Location. Overpriced for the room I got.
Easy access to City shops/restaurants/tourist attractions. Car only required for journey to and from Truro.
Lovely staff. Fabulously well presented rooms. Really pleasant experience. Recommend highly.
Good location, friendlyand helpful staff, comfortable rooms Noisy gulls!
Food and service excellent, good friendly staff. Would recommend to others. No bad points.
I thought the staff were extremely polite and positive, and the food was good in the Restaurant Well, the first room I was allocated was a "standard" double room at the back of the hotel (poor view/low ceilings/noisy air conditioning outside). However, I was allocated a "City Room" for an extra few pounds which was excellent !!
The pleasant staff, the quality of food and service in the restaurant, the apartment we had was excellent. We woould certainly book again when visiting Cornwall, if you'll have us.
The room was clearly recently refurbished, it was lovely, fab bathroom!! The bloody seagulls!!
Good service, good staff, very nice surroundings. No mini bar in hotel room, however the staff had an exelent and quick room service
Views, breakfast and plenty of cofortable seating make this a lovely hotel at good price. All rooms kept warm, a bonus in November, Well within reach of Eden project and Lost Gardens.
Swimming pool, friendly staff The hotel is very tired and needs money spending on it, a lick of paint for a start. The roof terrace was terrible although it could be a feature withy some investment
indoor pool and jacuzzi
very helpful staff, good food, nice indoor pool.
the hotel was very comfotable the staff frendly and wellcoming nothing was to much trouble for them ,the room was lovely and clean, cleaning staff frendly and helpful food brillient really enjoyed are stay and will be staying there again thank you all. nothing
Comfort, and staff were very good, food always hot and presented nicely, could not fault it in anyway
comfortable room [ upgraded to a double], spacious bathroom, friendly staff and a smoking room - what a treat !! Would use this hotel again.
Location was ideal and room was pleasant Not much buffet choice for breakfast
Location Not enough lights, breakfast was very poor
Beautfiul sea view room (No 11) comfortable and clean. Good breakfast. Excellent location. No
Food and service was very good. Room was clean and fresh
location, clean and tidy I suffer with asthma and had to climb to the top of the stairs, three flights
Comfortable, quiet, small
view out of the room and the breaksfast
location and restaurant
Great location, lovely sea view. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
We loved the room which had a beautiful sea view for which we were not charged extra for.
location, meals A few fixtures in the room were falling off
The hotel has its own identity and does not have the typical "premier inn" "travelodge" feel of many hotels in this price range. Some might find the rooms a bit dated but we prefer the cosy individual style more appealing. It's very clean and the food in the bar is excellent. Have stayed before and will do so again. Although we were happy with our un-refurbished room, I agree with those reviewers that say that the photos on the site are misleading and can see why people expecting rooms such as those shown would be disappointed.
The Great Western in Newquay had lots of indoor and outdoor seating available with stunning views and centrally located Having booked on line with no reference to the availability of some parking spaces - we arrived with our car for a week only to be told only telephone reservations get a chance to book a space. Why couldn't the website ask you to ring to book a space. We spent the week feeding parking metersin the evening and again by 9am. Not very restful !!!
Staff very helpful and cheerful Decor a bit tired; restaurant area needs to be split up
Staff very friendlt and pleasant. Street noise - being next to night club, can't be helped.
the location of the hotel is good. the staff are friendly loads of space and the food is good. service is good and quite quick
It is very clean and does not have smell of damp :) Included is the shower gel that helps with dry skin in this dry weather.
Convience to beach and shops When we first checked into the hotel we were put in a room right above where the trash bids were locared and the smell was awful. The new room we were moved into the shower did not work properly, no water pressure.
The room was spacious, with hot café and tea provided, nice in the cold winter! well located close to the beach and to all the facilities. Restaurant and bar services with a good menu. The room was cold, the heating was switch-off when we arrived in the room (and outside was snowing!). Really really noising during all night, we woke up several time due to the other guest running and chatting in the corridor (didn't understand why the reception don't do something in this case see that they are open 24h)
Excellent location, good value for money for a budget holiday!! Nice room and great views
The Great Western is in the right in the centre of 'Clubbing' Newquay, but is a 10 minute walk away from the town centre so perfect for if you are a fan of Berties and Barracudas! It was gopod value for money and the beds are very comfortable! It has recently been refurbished, so seems very grand when you enter at reception. It needs to have more parking. That was ridiculous how there was only about 10 parking spots! There is no places to park in the centre of Newquay unless you pay in the 'pay and display' car-parks, which as you can guess, are rather pricey in the centre of newquay!
The lady in reception was excellent, helped me with my bags and even brought my dinner to my room because I was working. Wi-fi wasn't free, for such a big chain this is poor, especially as the cost of the room isn't cheap.
friendly staff cleanliness of hotel and dining facilities good food local beer but best of all we were made so welcome
Advertised cheep nights not available!
The breakfast was extremely good, I thought that was the best thing about the stay I found it a bit noisy,
the staff could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable nothing
No bad points
Friendly staff both at receptiona and in restaurant in the morning. Excellent choice of meals.
The reception staff were very friendly and informative We paid extra for breakfast but didnt get it! When we asked to speak to the hotel manager we were told they were not available.
helpful friendly staff.
Easy to book on line, the staff where very helpful. A good comfortable stay. I will continue to use Premier Inns.
Friendliness, willingness to help. It is a B& B, not a hotel,as advertised. It needs more seating in the dining room to enable breakfast times to be more flexible.
Everything was very clean and the staff were friendly. It was more of a bed and breakfast place than a hotel. Our ' 2 bedroomed suite' was actually 2 rooms and a bathroom off a corridor with many other rooms on the same corridor.
Rooms were clean, owners friendly. Breakfast tasty. Web site description of suite was misleading. Suite wasn't really a suite. It was two separate rooms on a second floor with bathroom in outside along with several other rooms. Sound isolation is non-existent. It is definitely not a hotel and for those who expect non-itrusiveness of hotels this is not a suitable place. Too expensive for what it provides. Our family didn't feel comfortable there, especially children.
Very clean, very well appointed. Beautiful views, and quiet. For those looking for a b&b this has to be one of the best. It was not a hotel! See above. I prefer larger, impersonal hotels for business stays.
Clean ,well run and exellent breakfast Friedly family run hotel None
The location was not easy to find, especially when I arrived late at night. Howver, the staff (the owner) guided me on the phone. There was no bathing soap and no hair dryer.
Rooms were spacious and the staff were helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay there again.
All of it No
Orchard Manor is not a hotel. It is a guest house and I was horrified when I arrived because I do not like staying in guest houses, but without losing my payment I had to stay.
Location, service and history
freindly staff . they were helpfull and polite
Very good location and pretty good restaurant. Bit basic round the edges especially the corridors.
View from dining room and helpful staff
The Location was superb,& the Staff & food were excellent The Traffic noise from the back room,& the window rattled all night with the wind.
The view of the sun coming up over the water while enjoying an excellent breakfast. The easy friendliness of the staff.
Staff were very keen to welcome me and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent and cooked perfectly
A comfortable and nicely positioned hotel. Good bedrooms The service in the restuarant for dinner on the 7th Dec 2007 was poor and could only be described as amateur. The bar although nearly empty was no better. Waitress staff need proper training for a 4 star hotel service. Breakfast service was fine - older more mature experienced staff.
I particularly liked the view over the water from my room and from the Restaurant No
