NOTHING! The hotel staff gave us some restaraunts to call that provide delivery 24hrs. When we called, the restaurants said no, we don't deliver 24hrs a day. There was a guest smoking pot in next room down the hall. The parking lot smelled like pee. So horrible!
The hotel was very clean and organized Complimentary breakfast would have been nice. It was $12 per person and the variety wasnt much ..

They have a washer and driver onsite. Since I was there for 7 days, this was handy. There was no continental breakfast offered, the restaurant offered a breakfast buffet for $12.95. Too much for a bagel and scrambled eggs. The TV's didn't have sleep timers. The hotel restaurant food was overpriced and my order was wrong half the time.

We stayed a weekend in April and the hotel is lovely. The breakfast is free and has eggs, bacon and waffles. Although is was very busy the managers were all over the place and assisited the staff and repleneshed items even with a long line. Rooms were large and ours even had a fireplace. This is where I will go from now on.
I would never recommed this place for anyone who is traveling with children or pets. My family and I came here for an extended stay and were treated poorly by staff. They are understaffed and the ones who do work here seem to barely understand or know basic customer service skills. One of the long list of incidents involved a woman who complained we were too loud. The walls are paper thin, you can hear entire conversations in the hallways. The staff rudely banged on our door to tell us to be quiet. They do not know how to use a phone to dial out an outside number. They had my cell phone number that Ive given several times and no one ever called that number. I had a few concerns, and issues were never addressed by the self proclaimed 27 yrs of experience Manager,. The night prior to being rudely told we were too loud, some drunk college types were running up and down the hallways for at least two hours during late night, 1:00am-3:00am. This kept me up very late and my dog started to bark at the noise. When I asked staff what did you do about the people who were loud last night running up and down the hallway? I was rudely told they were part of a wedding party as an excuse. No one bothered telling them to keep it down. I was terrified and frightened when I saw these drunk people. I couldn't even leave my room to walk my dog in fear I may be in danger. Our room was infested by pests, ants for our entire stay. It took them 72 hours to fix it. And the pests still came back. Overall I had a horrible experience.
I stayed at the Residence Inn for a family reunion and I have to say the front desk and kitchen staff were so sweet. They were ready to help out with every request we had. The suites were very clean and comfortable. My kids loved the large pool and being able to play basketball outside. We will be back and I will stay at Residence Inns from now on.
The room was beautiful and very clean. They took double the sir charge at check in and when i called about it after i checked outbthe reception gave me a lot of attitude.
We just stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. The rooms are a nice size with nice accomodations. The customer service in the hotel was non existant. Ask for towels or shampoo and get it four hours later after three phone calls. Expect your bed to be made, not here apparently.
Clean rooms, amazing free breakfast, quietness, free WiFi, spaciousness. Initially I would have said finding the hotel since it's quite out of the way, but now I would say 'nothing'. In the end I rather liked that it was out of the hustle and bustle of most hotel locations.
The Residence Inn was in a relatively new area and the street was not yet lit. The car navigation identified the address as an ice arena but is actually a few hundred yards from it. The hotel was clean and inviting, the pool area is very clean. The suite had a small kitchen, fridge and stove complete with cutlery and plates. Staff were very warm and accomodating and breakfast was always complete and on time. No major attractions nearby but a great place to stay away from home.
As in most Marriott hotels they are well kept and well staffed

The room was nice and pretty quiet and clean. Can't complain. Wifi didn't work at all. Front desk basically shrugged and said it hasn't worked for a long time. Shouldn't advertise free wifi if you don't have it. Also be careful getting to this hotel...you have to be on the service road or you will miss it. Be alert!
We have stayed here several times while visiting our daughter. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. We were unable to regulate the temperature in our room. The fan was blowing but the thermostat was evidently controlled in a central location. We would have slept better if it had been cooler.

Great bed, nice room layout, very quiet and dark which was nice for sleeping. If you close the curtains you will not be able to tell you are essentially in an airport. Restaurant was okay -- not bad, not great. A bit expensive for the quality.
The bed was comfy and divine! Check out time was noon. Service fell short. Shuttle took 40 minutes to arrive; I had to call twice. Massive plane delays brought me in at 3 a.m. and it was not fun waiting yet again. First room shown smelled to me of smoke; no problem about changing rooms. However, she said she would slip a new room key under the door while i could sleep (almost 4 a.m. by now) and she did not. It was easier to not leave the room when I woke (bc very tired) then to deal with trying to get a new key to my room when I would be checking out soon. I left hotel at 11:30ish a.m. without coffee but showered.
A shout-out to the Newark Airport Marriott for their excellent customer service. Having taken a red-eye and landing in Newark at 5:55 yesterday morning, we went straight to the Marriott, not necessarily to check in, but to have them be aware that we were there, because we knew we wouldn't be back to use it until around midnight. The night clerk decided just to check us in early, at 6:30 a.m. We never went to the room, but left for our day in NJ and NY (and Neal Gottlieb 's Survivor viewing party, which was attended by so many relatives and friends). When we returned to the Marriott just past midnight, we attempted to print our board passes for this morning. When that didn't work, the same night clerk offered to try during the night and have them for us in the morning. Great. We went to our assigned room, and when we opened the door, we saw it was a wreck. It had not been cleaned at all. So it was a trip back to our now favorite night clerk. After explaining the situation, a supervisor got involved. We received an apology, and an upgrade to an executive suite which included a full breakfast. Thank you, Marriott!

The place was very clean and nice, and very professional looking. If you're not a posh business person, it isn't the best. We made the mistake of ordering Dominos to the room, and the hotel was obviously not very happy about "fast food" coming. First of all, they gave the delivery person a hard time and accused her of not really having customers here and being shady, before they finally called my room. Once I confirmed we had indeed ordered pizza, they wouldn't even let the delivery person come into the hotel, and I had to go outside to meet them.
Lobby and restaurants remodeled. You can walk to terminals but a shuttle is provided. Best place you can stay when departing from EWR.
Everyrhubg was great above average on all things.. Great service and room service food was beyond great.. One very rude women that was a clerk at the front desk about 3am in the morning needs to be fired. I don't want to give the hotel a bad review because of her. I asked about the shuttle and all were more than happy to call the bus driver. They said tell us when you are ready.. I walked outside and came back in and there was another clerk there. I said you can call the shuttle driver now please, I'm ready. She answered very ugly and rude sharp '' when I have time I will'' there were no customers at the desk. No reason that I should have been treated like that. I just thought to myself welcome to new jersey where all the rude selfish people in the world live and blew it off. But what needs to be realized is that people like this on staff there will cause this great hotel to lose customers.

They set up a pack and play and refrigerator. Huge win! No bellman to bring our bags up. We had to push the luggage cart ourselves. The restaurant was initially rude when I asked to take food upstairs (to my husband and sleeping daughter). I was surprised that this was supposed to be "in" the airport but it still required a van to access. They will not direct you to a walking path. The van was included (nice) but the driver refused to go to the premier counter, leaving us to lugg baby and bags up multiple flights. Not as easy as for a solo business traveller
The rooms and staff were nice The shuttle service was very poor. Understaffed shuttle service for people trying to make flights. If you are going to use mini-vans, you need to have more of them, or have bigger shuttles on stand-by.
Got in at midnight and still able to grab a quick bit in the restaurant/lounge! Staff was great and never made us feel rushed.
Overall the hotel was beautiful. The room was very spacious and neat. My stay was very pleasant. The jacuzzi was out of order and the pool water appeared to be dirty. I didn't like that you have to pay for parking if you booked a room and that you only have 1 hour of free parking.

Everything, microwave and fridge were available without extra charge, relaxing atmosphere and i felt safe in the environment. No dislikes here.
1st- Decent breakfast 2nd- Could not hear the airplanes even though we where right next to the airport. 3rd- After having an issue with the first morning having the lobby and breakfast area completely blocked by a school group, they moved them to a conference room are for the next 2 days to resolve it. 4th- Had plenty of power outlets around the desk. 5th- The free wifi internet was not slow, making it unnecessary to purchase the $9.99 a day "upgraded high speed" pass. After reading reviews for all the hotels in the area and seeing mixed reviews for all,I decided to to try each hotel for a few nights to see which was the best. Facing a 2-3 month stay in the area, I was going to be able to try a few. This was my second hotel after Holiday Inn Newark, so here is what I got. 1st- No bottled water in the room, maybe this is just a Northern US thing, because most major hotels in the Southern US and West coast have 1 or 2 free bottled waters in the room. 2nd- Had to pay $15+tax a day for parking even though when reviewing the description of the hotel it said there was a "Surcharge" for extended parking, it did't show the fees for parking until after booking even though it showed it as an amenity. I mean, I didn't have to pay for the pool, business center, gym, or elevator use, and they were all listed as amenities without noting a surcharge. 3rd- There was a smell to the room I couldn't place. It was a light smoke and minor mold smell. I got used to it after being the room for a few hours but every time I left and came back, there it was. 4th- Fridge was the smallest fridge you could possible find, like 1.2 ft2.
The room was spacy The front desk put me on hold for 7 minutes, come back and ask to put me on hold again. I hung up. Front desk absent for 5-10 on check out at 450am. Front desk needs to be retrained
Convenient shuttle to the airport They provided me with take out menus for nearby delivery I ordered delivery from a nearby Italian restaurant and they delivered it right to my hotel room door. Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi There is no bar or restaurant in this hotel you have to walk down a road where there is no sidewalk to get to the Courtyard Marriot which is a short walk but 2 doors down to get to the food and bar. Menu and bar is extremely small.
There is no noise from outside creeping in or from people in the hallways. The bed is very comfortable. The price is right. Food selection at breakfast is very limited. No other meals are available at the property and it is inconvenient to find a restaurant nearby. Parking fees are high.
Upon arrival we found a spacious room which was very clean and updated furniture with comfortable double beds. Microwave and mini fridge were included as well as free parking. The free breakfast was nothing fancy but was adequate and got the job done. I was happy to find my favorite Kashi cereal, but the coffee wasn't to my liking. Overall I would definitely book this room again.
The room was super clean and spacious. I would stay here for leisure or business anytime. We even had a little view of the city and planes coming into Newark Liberty. My wife and I drove here from Ohio and this was the perfect balance of what we needed. Cost effective + parking + NYC access A little far from the city and public transit but with a little creativity you can get there in no time for only a few dollars.

For $79 plus tax on a weekend night through kayak, it was great. There were only two things: 1) The room could use a mini-fridge. 2) Saturday morning, around 8:30 am, there was house music blasting from the first floor that you could easily hear on the second floor. I realize this was from a group holding a gathering there on Saturday morning, and would be hell on anyone who checked in late, but I couldn't blame the hotel.
Okay for a budget short term stay. Decent proximity to Newark airport with free shuttle to AirTrain station running every 30 minutes. Staff was courteous. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Hallways and shared spaces smelled stale/ like faint cigarette smoke and were humid/ not air conditioned for most of our stay. Our air conditioner in the room was also not functional.

Location Housekeeping waking you up early by knocking once and opening the door on you, even if the lock is on. It's annoying!!! Check out @ 11am they'll be attempting to open the door on you around 9am.
The staff was helpful for the most part. The room, the facility in general, was poorly maintained and run down. It felt like a dirty cheap motel. I asked the housekeeper to clean my room when I went to breakfast, nothing was done. I asked again at dinner and I came back to a pile of towels thrown on my suitcase, and the bed sheet just thrown on the bed. I called housekeeping who tried to explain that only the supervisor was on duty and that the do not disturb sign was on. This was not the case when I twice asked housekeeping to clean the room.
Location next to Newark Airport with free shuttle. Good value. Hotel is shabby, carpet fraying, lots of dings and marks on the walls in hallways (though room itself was in better shape). Housekeeping must've been rushed, because underwear left by a previous guest was on the floor of our bathroom. Yuck.

What I really liked about this hotel is that all the staff is very nice. All the staff would say hello if they walked past you and were very helpful. I also liked that the bar and convenience store were open later than the other hotels in the area. My sister and I wouldn't get back to the hotel until 10:00pm to 12:00am and we were able to get a bite to eat and have a drink before going to bed. You can tell this is an older hotel so there is little things that could have been better but for the most part you could tell the management was really trying to get the hotel fixed up so the little things didn't really bother me like they would some people. When my sister and I first sat on the bed it seemed really hard and uncomfortable but it didn't turn out to be an uncomfortable sleeping experience. It was actually quite comfortable for my sister and I. If you are someone that needs a softer bed I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The location of the hotel was a bit confusing because the hotel is right off the highway so if you are going too fast you will most likely miss it and have to go all the way around again. So if you are someone taking uber and lyft just make sure your driver knows about when to turn into the hotel so you don't have to pay extra. Even though I smoke cigarettes I didn't like that the ash tray was right next to the restaurants door. It just seemed really weird to me to have it right there when people have to walk out that door. Also even though they have an ashtray right there people had been throwing their buds on the floor and staff was walking around collecting big trash but didn't stop and pick up the cigarette buds.
We liked that it was so close to the Newark airport & the free shuttle ran every 30 minutes to/from the airport. The staff members weren't rude, but not really friendly either. The room was very small - it barely fit the 2 double beds in it.

I was very dissatisfied with our stay. I planned a last minute staycation with my daughter. The weather was menacing so I looked for a place in the area with a nice indoor pool. What they don't tell you in any of the descriptions on the Sheraton Paraippany is that the pool is part of the Atlantis Health Club and, evidently, anyone can go for the day (I imagine there's a small fee). We were swimming in the already cramped single lane of the indoor pool. I was already dismayed that, even though there were many little ones swimming with their parents, they still excluded us from the other two roped off lanes--one was reserved for lap swimming, and the other for kiddy swimming lessons (with MANY kiddies, one of them screaming at the top of his lungs for the entirely of his lesson). I noticed pieces of food, cereal and other garbage, laying around the pool, while the life guard sat there, allowing kids to balance themselves on the divider ropes, despite someone trying to swim laps right next to them. What sent me (and my ten year old) over the edge was when an entire group of young children arrived from outside the hotel. A day camp I think. There were now an additional 15 or so kids, plus 3 or 4 adult supervisors. For the first half hour they were there, the outdoor pool was still closed due to bad weather--why they did not open up another of lane to accommodate this group is beyond me. They expected 30+ people to swim comfortably in one lane of a NOT Olympic sized pool?! It was ridiculous so we left and went back to our not very clean room (pubic hair in the bathtub, stains on the carpet and on the bed-skirt) and ordered over priced hamburgers that were hard as hockey pucks and ridiculously over-priced. It was just an all-around very disappointing experience. I will not be returning there.

Rooms updated but small, adequate for my business needs. Onsite restaurant, excellent food and service but is pricey. Parking is free, good news, finding a parking spot can be difficult but attendant is helpful, may have to park 1/2 block away.
Stayed for 4 nights for the 2016 Star Trek convention in NYC. No regrets. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient, free parking. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Newark Penn Station. Reasonably safe urban neighborhood. Easy access to NYC via PATH or NJ Transit. Price compared to NYC hotels. My room had a nice view. Was able to park the full day after I checked out. Elevators malfunctioned one morning (this was a huge annoyance). Area around hotel closes very early (no good restaurants, convenience stores, etc).
I asked for a "quiet" room and ended up next door to a group of women who were clapping, cheering, and in general having a good time. I don't mind people having fun but at 1:00 in the morning I really wanted to get some sleep.
I had low expectations based on reviews, but rooms were clean and spacious and recently renovated. Wifi worked fine for me. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good value for the money. Maybe I just got lucky this time, but nonetheless I'd stay again. Fine for a night. The area is a bit dicey, but not so much so that it should prevent you from walking to the train station, etc.
Good location for getting into NYC. The breakfast was pretty good. Employees were very friendly. Room was clean. Bathroom door did not close and some of the walls had paint/wallpaper peeling off. Vending machines were all either non-functioning, didn't take bills, or were not well-stocked. We ordered a cheese pizza when we got in for a quick bite to eat and it was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had, especially from a restaurant. A frozen pizza would have been better. Our neighbors rolled in around 2 AM and were loud and woke us and kept us up until about 5:30 - 6AM when we finally had to call the front desk to ask them to do something about it and even then it still took a while for them to quiet down.
The location is very close to train stations and the free parking is a very nice perk. If they run out of parking they will park it for you. The elevator is simply amazing. It sounds like such a little thing but it is really fast and they don't shut them down on off hours so you're never waiting for one. As other guests mentioned the A/C doesn't work very well. If you turn it all the way to cold (past the temp settings) it will get comfortable after about 30 minutes. The bed is very lumpy and extremely uncomfortable.

As a result, the entire floor looked really run down, it smelled like paint, and it was loud.

Location & Price are great! Good breakfast included with hotel stay. Had to switch rooms b/c of a grainy picture in tv and shower stopping up. Also, b/c of warmer temperatures during this winter season the hotel decids no to offer heat in the rooms...WTF? IT STILL WAS COLD AT NIGHT!

Free shuttle service between EWR and hotel, both ways. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a room on the 6th floor, it had a vaulted ceiling which was lovely. Clean luxurious sheets, beds were comfortable with pillow options. Plenty of space. Large mini fridge in the room. Convenient, Way better than sleeping on the floor of EWR. Wifi did not work. Elevator incredibly slow. Air quality in my room was not great, was pretty stale and overpowered by air freshener. The windows were not openable to add fresh air. Food in the restaurant is subpar, with virtually no clean eating options. There are no other food options in the area, as the hotel is located amidst train tracks, gates, car parks and rental lots that seem to stretch to forever. $2 for a small bottle of Poland Springs bottled water in the vending machine.

The bed!! So comfortable. Also I left my luggage on the shuttle, and they were very helpful in facilitating my getting it back. The plane was late, and the shuttle took much too long to pick up.
I liked the customer service! Carlos was our waiter one evening and he was so sweet and friendly. The shuttle drivers were also wonderful. Friendly, professional and very nice!! The breakfast was very good also. The only thing I didn't like was that my bed was not made one day by housekeeping and the did not replenish the coffee nor did they remove the melted ice from the ice bucket. I was very disappointed in that part of the service since, as a mom, I do look forward to going to a hotel to be a little spoiled. I didn't complain to the front desk since the rest of the hotel experience was wonderful!!! All in all I would go there again.
I stayed in this hotel twice during January 2017. The hotel has a good location, it is close to the airport, the neighborhood seems safe, and the shopping area is not too far. It has an acceptable shuttle service to the airport. The rooms are spacious and their beds are comfortable. During my first stay of three days, the room was cleaned just once. When I inquired the reason, a woman receptionist explained that when you stay there for a few days the housekeeping personnel “sometimes” skip a day of cleaning. She said that she was alone, that all housekeeping personnel was gone for the day and the manager was out as well. She offered no other explanation and her attitude was of an upset person. As if I was annoying her with my problem. When I returned the second time, I complained to a supervisor, he apologized and said that the mentioned receptionist was wrong, adding that unless I had a “do not disturb” sign on the room door, there was no reason to not have skipped its cleaning. He also gave me a couple of vouchers to compensate for my aggravation. I suggest to closely supervise and train that receptionist to make her understand that clients are needed to pay her salary and they deserve to be treated with respect.

Very nice room and very friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport. Nice rate. Coffee and muffins were available at 4:30 am. Other guests were extremely loud- banging doors and yelling in the hall the entire night. It kept waking us up. Our wake up call rang at 3:40 instead of 4:40. We reserved a shuttle and one of the drivers never showed for work; so at 4:50 on the morning there were four families trying to get to the airport for our flights. The driver was very, very nice but one family was forced to stay behind.

My girlfriend and I spent the night there for a nice getaway from home after we had went to my brother's soccer game at Seton Hall. Everyone and everything was great. The room was perfect, we had requested extra towels before we checked in and the accommodation was made. When we got there, I called the home bar to request a bottle of wine and the bar staff was able to help recommended a good wine for us. Everything was clean and comfortable. Definitely would recommend staying here for any occasion, especially for the price, very good value. We will absolutely keep this hotel in mind for weekend excursions in the future. There was nothing not to like, everything was great.
Doorman was nice. Girls behind desk were not pleasant. Plus, I checked out early. Booking.com told me there would be a cancellation charge but I didn't hear how much. Hotel charged me a cancellation fee of $75; Booking.com's email showed it was supposed to be $35. Same when I checked in--rate higher than Booking.com, but I caught it then.

The property is modern, sleek, beautiful. Anda well kept facility. Breakfast is not available on the weekend, only through a limited room service menu.
The staff was extremely helpful and courteous in both the hotel and the restaurant. The facilities were clean. The rooms need more noise insulation. Both from outside noises, and interior noises. There should be an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

We arrived much later than expected at Newark Airport. Fortunately for us, their airport transportation runs 24 hours. Called the front desk a couple of times about the transportation and they were always nice. It was also good to see a 24 hour pantry stocked with some pretty decent quality foods and baked goods, as all the airport concessions had closed with our late arrival. Our room was clean, modern, and nicely appointed. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel. Food in aforementioned pantry was a bit pricey. Bathroom fixtures needed some repair, but admittedly I forgot to tell them when I checked out. Location of the hotel not the greatest if you want to walk out of hotel grounds.
The location to the airport is good. The rooms were just okay. The parking was ridiculous. They did not have enough spots for how many people were there. I can't believe you have to pay for parking when there was not even enough parking to park there. Spent a lot of time driving around the parking lot and parking just where our vehicle would fit....usually no actual parking spots but rather parked on grass or in non parking area and left vehicle there. We asked for towels one night and never got them. The walls are very thin and we could here everything going on in the rooms and hallway. The rooms were not all that clean and the pillows were terrible. I would not stay here again.

The room was clean. It appears to have been upgraded and the AC was good. If you are there to work, it's quiet and a good place to stay as long as you are willing to put up with the staff's poor attitude. The staff was extremely rude. The fridge did not work and when I reported it to the desk clerk she asked "So... do you want me to send someone to fix it?" Really?! I wonder what she thought was the reason I told them it wasn't working and my drinks were warm. After reporting it three times I finally got maintenance in the room at 9:30 PM, the guy said he'd be back in 10 minutes and never came back. The next day I saw someone in the hallway and told him, he came over and brought a new fridge. More than 24 hours after I first asked for it to be fixed or replaced. I found all the staff to be rude and unwilling to help with the most simple request. There are no restaurants around so you are stuck paying an insulting high price for everything you eat or drink. The breakfast buffet is 14.95 plus tax and you have eggs, sausage and potatoes as "hot" food; fruit and french toast and muffins. Don't expect more.

For the amount of money to say here you'd think the tv would have worked. We chose this hotel because we wanted a luxurious stay in a plush setting. It wasn't any better than a Best Western. Breakfast was served till 10 am but we had to wait in line for 47 minutes to eat. No bagels or bread left when we finally got our eggs because it was almost 10:30! Really disappointed and wish we had looked for a Best Western.
Clean, roomy, acomodating and helpful staff hideaway bed was unuseable due to hard ridges and bumps as well as troughs, had to share king with two daughters like sardines in a can. Air conditioning complicated and hard to use. Slow internet, plus it timed out after 24 hours (despite our having a 2 day stay).
Would have appreciated a breakfast buffet that was included in cost of room. Otherwise, great hotel.

Hotel is nice on the outside. Good location. Pool and gym are ok but not great Rooms are old and beat up. Beds were not so comfortable. Toilet broke. Ac was leaking water and was so loud. Bad customer service. Promised a crib but never got one. Promised a mini fridge but didn't get one until next day which caused my food to go bad. Will not return to this hotel.
When we arrived at the front desk at 11pm our reservation was not on file. The staff had to scramble to give is a single room. To the staff credit they discounted our stay and comped breakfast. See above.

Vanderbilts, the hotel restaurant was ok, food was ok, bar staff were terrific, but there isn't really a system for being seated or getting service.

Lobby is good. The event we attended is at the same building so staying at this hotel location made sense Got a wrong room. I requested for double queen bed but was given single king. So a family of 4 is sharing a single bed. No effort is made to help the situation. I even tried to ask if there is something she can do. I got a big 'NO'. However, the couple after us the a double queen bed. The door going out into the veranda is broken so we have to turn on the heater.
The Irish pub in the restaurant was excellent. The staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean other than the issues cited in the other box. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The location is convenient and there was plenty of free parking. I booked for 3 adults and requested 2 doubles, however my email confirmation stated 1 king bed. I called the Marriott and was told there were no rooms left with double beds. I then called hotels.com and was told the room could be changed to 2 doubles, however upon arrival the reservation was still for 1 king. Thankfully the desk clerk noticed the size of our party and immediately changed the reservation 2 doubles without me having to ask her. Don't know why this was an issues when I originally called the Marriott (or why the change made through hotels.com did not change the actual reservation at the hotel). There was some black mold on the ceiling above the tub/shower and the room had a slightly musty smell, like a damp basement. Our room refrigerator was not working upon arrival and the hotel had to send up a maintenance person to get it to work. We discovered there was a big cultural conference (NJ/NY VSNA Indian conference) taking place during our stay. No issues with the cultural conference however with so many people mingling about in the lobby and hallways we felt like we were intruding on a private event and that was uncomfortable. We did not feel like we should walk around the hotel and stayed in our room. It would have been nice if I was told about the conference at the time of booking.

I booked a room with two beds, and got a room with one! Manager told me she would drastically reduce my room rate for the inconvenience, was busy at the moment and promised to contact me by cell phone as soon as she could that evening. Manager never called, and never answered multiple voice mails I left her. poor customer service!!!! As if the above was not bad enough, our room was directly behind the elevators on the 14th floor, and the loud, constant, noise made it impossible to sleep. Asked for any other room, and was told they were sold out. The hotel should never book room 1411, the noise from the elevators is unacceptable.
We booked one "king standard room" and we received a double instead, the room was cold and humid and not too clean.

We stayed here for our first NFL game, giants vs Jaguars. There was a shuttle to the game that was significantly cheaper than paying for parking and we didn't have to deal with the traffic. To our surprise, many of the giants were staying in the hotel as well. We meet quite a few of the team and even shared an elevator with one of them. We upgraded to the city view for $10 and it was well worth it. We will definitely be back. While the room was gorgeous and comfortable, it was odd there was no mini fridge, and no where to get drinks. The gift shop was closed when we got back from the game and the vending machines didn't work. We were so thirsty!

ITs proximity to the Meadowlands - liked how they embraced the Springsteen show, and pumped his music through the lobby and outdoors while we were all arriving. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Check in was quite long because of the sheer number of people arriving at the same time, but they made it fun with the music and an "impromptu" pre-show party in the lobby.
I made one phone call and u charge me $33.00 for one & $7 for the next one.

Despite the fact that we were moved to another hotel without prior notice they ensured that all transportation and amenities were covered by them. We were told that we were going to be switched out to another hotel the minute I checked in, despite the fact that I had confirmed my reservation the previous night with kayak and the hotel the day before.
Clean, very close to train station. Don't expect to check in before 3pm. Breakfast in the restaurant was terrible. Got the corn beef hash... by far the worse I've ever had.... tremendously overpriced for the quality of food. You will hear the honking from the traffic until approx. 10pm. The area surrounding the hotel is not nice... I would recommend not walking around much.
I did like the access to the New Jersey Transit and airport. There are some resturants and shops in the building to pick up anything needed. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful to any questions we had. I did not like a few things in our room, such as, no place to hang a hand towel, the sink counter was badly cracked with a poor fix job, and the hair dryer was very old and weak. It seemed as a left over from another guest. The safety is questionable. I was there with my husband and felt okay but we both felt uncomfortable at times. I would not recommend staying alone or walking the streets at night. If you are there to visit NYC, I highly recommend staying in the city over NJ. With the cost of transportation and time back and forth, you waste time and money.

Absolutely nothing! We were the last guests to check in for the evening. They gave us room 207 and it was filthy. There were huge sticky stains on the carpet and on the furniture. There were chunks of things stuck on the carpet. And the air was stunk of stale smoke. I asked for a different room but they were full. We left and went to a residence inn. I had purchased through Kayak/Priceline and priceline refunded my money. It was the nastiest room I have ever seen. Our friends were also I the hotel in the 9th floor and they said their room was fine. The hotel staff didn't seem to care one bit about the state of room 207. The only thing they offered was to have housekeeping come and spray something so it smelled better.
Location - so easy and fast to get to Manhattan. Better than staying in NYC. Staff very helpful. Free shuttle to local outlets/shops. Tax free shopping on clothes in NJ. Shower drain didn't work, breakfast was awful, hotel quite worn and shabby. WIFI did not work at all.
Price, accommodation and general comfort were above expectations. Bus connection to central Manhattan was good. Continental breakfast was crowded on weekends and generally poor quality.
It was very well located and safe. The staff made mistakes and the house cleaning forgot to clean our room one day.
I stayed with a girlfriend for her 40th and the staff were very hospitable, going over and beyond what what necessary to help us enjoy our stay. They gave us great help with knowing where to go and find things and even stayed after their shift to make sure we were ok! The French Toast for breakfast one day tasted like cardboard! Breakfast did leave a lot to be desired with the "hot" options maybe luke warm and a slim selection of breads etc.
Nothing was done when I complained about smell of marijuana. No respect for a family environment. Least I expected was a comp for horrible experience, but nothing was said besides I will look into it by the manager. Shuttle service to MetLife stadium is one way no pickup after 5 pm. If your looking for a place to do drugs this is the place to go!!
This is the first La Quinta that had HOT food for breakfast and it was welcome since they were NOT anywhere near a location to eat away from the venue - the food was well prepared and the staff was very friendly and cordial THis venue does not have any places within a close walking distance where guests can get breakfast or snacks or even a fast food something. I highly recommend that somewhere on the hotel info on your site that the 2 places that ARE near are listed and that it be recommened that they get a rental car.

We had issues with our room and the daytime staff was very helpful. They moved us to a new room, which had an issue too, but Elly did everything she could to make it right. Overnight staff was rude.
Chromecast, staff. Breakfast, location. Pool was over crowded. No towels at pool to dry off. Had to air dry and drip the whole way back to the room. Oops. Also hot tub was very dirty and almost green. When sitting in it I couldn't even see my waist the water was so unclear., Also check out time was different depending what you read or who told you. We checked out at noon because that's what it said on the back of the door m.
The room was recently refurbished and mostly nice Bathroom door was damaged, whole room smelled of paint, the whole building was under construction which was loud. The workers smoked in the hallway. I caught the receptionist asleep twice. Once when I was trying to check out around 6AM. She actually had headphones in so I had to scream to wake her up so that I could check out. The pool was not accessible due to the construction. The breakfast was waffles, bagels, and yogurt. I was just really not pleased with this stay.
