Great location for skiing in Stratton Staff very friendly and helpful Hot breakfast did not change for the 3 days we were there. Always the same- scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and french toast (from frozen). Very mediocre. $8 for adults, $5 for kids. AC was incredibly noisy and get going on and off every 30 minutes. Kept us awake! Room was in the right wing of the hotel- not noisy at all. Would have been nice it there was a pool for the kids.
Location was great. Close to many scenic routes in the area and walk across the road to Stratton Mtn village. No screens on room window. Some areas (Hallways and stairwells ,ceiling in shower ) needs repainting. First glance made the place look shabby and rundown but once inside the room everything looked bright and clean.
Everything was amazing. Continental breakfast.
Everything, from the beautiful architecture, the warm reception from the welcoming, friendly staff, down to the unique views, is beyond exceptional. Each room has a different design with unique quirks. My stay was in the Cloud room, a wondetful personal balcony overlooking the pool and gardens with the jacuzzi was such a treat. Delicious breakfast every morning and the friendliest little dog Henry made it feel more like home. Bob and Steve run an amazing inn and I know that I'll definitely be back. My stay wasn't longer.
Just great people who run this place, and, being relatively new owners (this is their first summer), they're around all the time and very generous, helping with my travel plans, extending breakfast a few minutes, offering coffee to take away, etc. Most importantly, though, this place just has a clean, great, retro vibe. None of the fancy, new off-gassing generic decor. Real wood dressers and desks, vintage photo prints, etc. But also with some newer rugs and colorful walls in common spaces. This place hasn't been "let go" -- quite the opposite. New owners seem to be restoring and putting lots of love in it, even new TVs. A great yard and view -- you can even BBQ there, or just lounge in the comfortable chairs on the covered loft. It's a wonderful place, and very affordable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. What's not to like? You know how they say, "When in Rome..."? Well, when in Vermont, stay at a place like this, rather than finding some big corporate chain hotel full of generic furniture, views of overlit parking lots, and employees who turnover every 2 months.
Owner was very friendly and personal. He worked with us for a late check in. Beds were comfy. TV was crap, really grainy image with lines across the screen. Not a big deal tho since we spent most time outside. Bathroom door didn't close or lock.
Cute motel in the Vermont woods! Stayed for one night in the budget room, small and older but perfect for the price, can't beat it! Would definitely come back to stay again if skiing in the area. The staff is very very friendly and accommodating!!
the front desk person were very friendly and very helpful none
Nice clean room and fairly priced!
The hotel is conveniently located to Main Street offering many eating establishments within walking distance. The breakfast area has juice, coffee, cereal, pastry and waffles. The rooms are very outdated. Tube television, no desk and very dated décor.
Location, location, location! Very clean and comfortable, walking distance to several restaurants Exterior stairs to the room could be hazardous during snow or icy weather however hotel staff seems to do a very good job of keeping everything clear

Easy to find.Adorable VT town near the Weston Playhouse, Sam's Steakhouse, & our family in Cavendish & the Baptist Church Beds clean, comfy.Plenty pillows/big/fluffy The establishment did not charge us for the extra person. This was a lovely gesture. It was advertised in the playbill at the playhouse to have a continental breakfast....it does not. First thing we found was an empty Coke can between the beds (kinda makes you wonder how thorough housekeeping is)
Location The hotel was not updated for the price paid. Bathroom needed paint job. Rooms looked the same as 5 years ago!!
The hotel felt more like a New England inn, as opposed to a corporate American chain. That means everything. The 11:00 checkout as opposed to noon.

We were not expecting much given it was a motel not a hotel. However we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a decent room and the motel itself was off the main street so we didn't have street noise..
Location was great, easy walk to a couple of restaurants.
The location is convenient. The free breakfast is a plus. It took a while for us to figure out the thermostat. In fact, we never really did figure it out but got heat to come on. Then it got pretty warm but I was afraid to turn the dial because I didn't want to turn off the heat.
The restaurant was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was within a short walk of several very interesting small shops. The lounge was comfy. The room was very small. No coffee or TV in room. The grounds were a disappointment. There were no breakfast meats with the included breakfast.
It was a charming home and the bears are the most I've ever seen and most of all the are Steif from from Germany not China. All was great and her little CEO was darling. The breakfast was one of the best ever. I'd love to make it again in the near fut NOthing
Beautiful home - loved the old victorian home! Beautiful little Vermont town with great food within walking distance. Hostess was amazing and the breakfast was a 10+++!! The bathroom and shower were really small.
Charming, friendly staff, great breakfast, convenient location
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was a little small for two people.
Nice bathrooms Noises all night kept me awake. No tv in the room.
The location. The town of Grafton is just picture perfect, and the hotel (the building) is very fitting. It is a lovely town to visit. The reception staff were not very friendly or reaching out with suggestions for out of town visitors. Also the check in time is too late at 4pm.
This was a really wonderful Inn. Friendly staff and beautiful room. It was a lovely little town to visit.
Loved our room, and the bed was the most comfortable that we have ever slept on! Can't think of anything.
Clean, quiet and right off the highway Main office smelled strongly of curry.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and attractive. The included breakfast offered many different selections. The Putney Inn is well located (right beside Interstate 91, yet quiet) and comfortable. I would stay there again. There was no decaf coffee at breakfast, but I feel certain that they would have remedied that had I said something.
The room was large, clean, very attractive, very comfortable and had all the amenities you could wish...and, it was very inexpensive. The outside and grounds are unprepossessing but don't let that deter you; the room was terrific.
The beds are comfortable. There was no coffee maker in the room.
owner was great, got us a good deal on lift tickets price should have been about $40 a night less but like said above in question 1 it would of been if I had delt with owner directly
The Timber Inn is a great deal if you're going to Ludlow to ski Okemo. It's just a mile out of "town" (Ludlow is pretty small), but there is a free shuttle to the mountain and free van shuttles to take you to and from restaurants (or you can walk across the street to Sam's Steakhouse) so it's all very convenient. The rooms are nice, nothing spectacular (the TV's are almost antiques), but they are very clean and the shower was wonderful - endless hot hot water and good pressure. The proprietor was very friendly and recommended some great local spots for dining out, and made it very easy for us to get checked in very late at night. As stated earlier, the TV's left a little something to be desired (the remotes don't let you adjust the volume - you have to get out of bed for that).
The rooms are comfortable with WIFI and cable TV. I was happily surprised with the microwave and refridgerator. I will go back there just for that. It is just right on the main road so there is traffic noise. It was nothing that was a deal breaker.
Not much The beds were both broken and in horrible shape. The carpet on the floors was half coming up the floor in the showers was in very bad shape. The entire place smelled like mildew. Then they have crazy hours for the hot tubs you can only use it from 4p-8p. In my opinion it was a waste of money I will never stay here again I hope no one else does either no
Location is just down the road from Okemo. Also not a bad little view of the mountain from all rooms. Clean and comfortable for the price point. it could use some updating but it works.
Price was great, about a 10 minute drive to Okemo. It was an older hotel but everything was in working order. It's a great place for a ski trip on a budget.
