Cons: "WiFi wasn’t working"
Pros: "Some of the crew was decent others seemed annoyed they were doing their job."
Cons: "Some of the crew was decent others seemed annoyed they were doing their job. Two of the employees serving the cabin could use an attitude adjustment. The crew was late in getting food out but for a four hour flight there is no value in flying anymore. Airlines are just trying to rake in as much money as possible. When are they going to be responsible for everyone getting sick like cruise ships are? They should hand out masks and sanitizer because airlines are one of the dirtiest public spaces that there is! Show up late and barely clean the plane between its third or fourth leg of the day."
Pros: "Great service welcoming to the airplane and the service later was good too, not complains at all"
Cons: "I would said nothing because I really had a good flight"
Cons: "Temperature oscillated a lot,"
Pros: "Very well organized, smooth boarding, early arroval"
Cons: "Boarded late then had to check a bag that should have been a carry-on which delays me when I get there having to go to baggage for sale then sat on the runway for nearly an hour waiting on catering was over two hours too late"
Pros: "Good seats in economy"
Cons: "Flight was delayed due to weather in DCA"
Cons: "The issue was NOT the flight this morning, it was that I was left to sit 6 hours, getting no sleep, before the flight the evening before was canceled. I understand that weather can cause disruption but there is NO WAY it should take until midnight to make the decision to completely cancel."
Pros: "The crew were great. The seat could always be bit more comfortable."
Cons: "Examine the seats in the cabin it seems to be loose from the mounting to the floor."
Pros: "crew was great."
Cons: "flight was 3 hours late with lame excuse. tray tables disgusting. felt unclean. cookies tasted gross. pa system not working. live flight not working either"
Pros: "Crew is nice, seat space is slightly larger than other airlines"
Cons: "This route (BOS-DCA and back) is ALWAYS delayed. This time it was 3 hours. I should have taken the train!"
Cons: "Yes because we have to Wait. 4 hour"
Cons: "Food and entertainment were Not Applicable."
Pros: "Flight crew as great."
Cons: "Boarding was a circus, and the cabin crew could have cared less... All they were interested inward handing out credit card a;p,cation. By far, the worst cabin crew I have seen i the last 5 years."
Pros: "crew member good."
Cons: "delay delay delay"
Pros: "Flight went by fast, landed about 20 minutes early."
Pros: "Fast boarding, kind crew, smooth takeoff and landing."
Cons: "Loved the leg room but the seat cushions are not that comfortable."
Pros: "A lot"
Cons: "a little comfy seats"
Pros: "Plane was clean and on time"
Cons: "Better snacks"
Pros: "Crew was the best"
Cons: "45 min flt - nothing else they could do"
Pros: "so easy. thank you for having Starbucks in the DCA and BOS terminals. got text msgs about delays and all smooth!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed, staff did a very poor job of communicating the situation to passengers"
Cons: "Flight was delayed an hour +"
Cons: "Was nice even with bad weather..i love jet blue.."
Pros: "On time, comfortable seats, variety of snacks"
Pros: "I liked that they allowed my dog to get on board with me in the end. I like that they had delicious options for snacks and good entertainment during the flight."
Cons: "I didn’t appreciate them questioning me about the comfort dog when all the papers were right in front of the attendant. Also, I had called in several times to make sure I had everything I needed to the last min change in having to bring my dog with me. I was told over the phone that I could have up until I boarded but then got to the airport and was commented about it a few times by JetBlue associates. It is confusing and fairly stressful especially when I called in ahead of time to confirm I was ok."
Pros: "Efficient birding and exiting process. Crew members attentive and quick"
Cons: "Plane was delayed 30 min but the team was clearly doing their best to get us going"
Pros: "Crew efficient, polite, & communicative. Array of tv channels allowed me to watch football while our departure was delayed."
Cons: "Mechanical problems delayed our departure."
Pros: "Only my 2nd time on Jet Blue and this time it was that only two seats per row flights. The boarding process was smooth. I checked in online and had my pass on my phone. The seats were comfy enough & wifi was free along with tv. The flight itself was smooth and the flight crew address any possible issues beforehand. The crew was on-point with the routine but they had really great customer service. I usually don't think of JetBlue when looking to book but they are really winning my business. Great job overall."
Cons: "As with all others I've been on, airplane seats need more form."
Pros: "Loved the live TV and spacious room between seats."
Cons: "I didn’t like the weather delay but that’s not JetBlue’s fault."
Cons: "The plane was miserably cold, with tempuratures dipping well into the 50s on the aircraft. I was shivering and sneezing the entire time, guests in the row in front of my had their leather jackets over their faces. Air was pummeling me in the window seat. It was the most miserable 2 hours on a plane I have ever experienced, and I have been on thousands. I would highly reconsider the tempuratures on the plane seeing as that this could severely sicken children and elderly. I have never experienced this before."
Cons: "The flight was delayed three times. I had to wait 6 hours in the terminal to boarding the airplane."
Pros: "Usual great Jet Blue experience."
Cons: "Crew took too long before they told us reason for delay of flight from DCA to CHS"
Pros: "Left on time, arrived early. No disruptions. Nothing else to say' all good."
Pros: "Seat was fine"
Cons: "Plane was blowing excessive amounts of cold air on my seat, and airflow could not be adjusted. I explained this would trigger a sinus infection, a common issue for those prone to sinus infections, not to mention it was simply uncomfortable. I asked for this to be addressed. It was not, despite I was told turning down the air might be possible. No follow up was provided. Sure enough, I now have s sinus infection."
Pros: "Slight delay getting out of Boston, but we had received an email that there are runway repairs. Flight was smooth with pleasant service."
Pros: "Even though I think of JetBlue as a economy carrier, it still felt very professional. It seemed more professional and less stressed than any carrier I have used of late, particularly through the boarding process."
Cons: "Baggage was 25 dollars but airline checking same size bags for free at the gate?????"
Pros: "All went well. No issues whatsoever even with the cold weather and snow all over the eastern seaboard."
Pros: "Left on time and arrived early both ways."
Pros: "There was a huge glitch in your ticketing, resulting in me confirming the same ticket 3 times. After calling Jetblue for customer service per your advice, they first suggested to give Jetblue credits for extra tickets. When I insisted that the issue was solely caused by kayak-jetblue ticketing connection issues, they supervisor approved to cancel 2 credit card payments... BUT I have to wait for 2 weeks to see the cancellation on my credit card. Unfair and ridiculous, if you as me."
Pros: "I bought a ticket for my 85-year old Mom to fly from Puerto Rico to Washington, DC, where I'm stationed, and from Curbside to Curbside, she told me your people and your service were all SUPERB! Thank you for making my Mom feel comfortable and safe during such a traumatic time. You have a customer for life!"
Pros: "friendly agent."
Cons: "Poorly marked boarding times and announcements. Bottom line, I didn't get on the flight and had to take a flight on an alternative airline."
Pros: "I was traveling from Charelston to DC the weekend before Irma hit with a return flight Sunday. The counter agent was great at finding a return flight change no problem. No fee. Off I went, and off Irma went, I had to change my return travel plans and unfortunatelyJetblue didn't have s direct flight to my new destination, the counter agent in DC went thru possible options and worked with main ticketing to refund my flight for future use, noting it saved me money to rebook online at a cheaper fare, what airline does that theses days. Very pleased and grateful Jetblue made my travel during a tense weather weekend the least of my worries, they were Rock Stars!"
Cons: "Due to hurricane Irma, people are flooding out of Florida like rats on a sinking ship. So, the security checkpoint is an absolute mess. Meanwhile, the trains at MCO are malfunctioning badly as they chaotically try to replace them. The boarding agent acknowledged these issues as she explained to me and 5 other people that we couldn't get on the plane that wasn't scheduled to leave for 12 more minutes. Finally, thank God, a supervisor arrived and called the captain of the plane who subsequently let us board. Completely unnecessary situation. Very disappointed."
Pros: "first of all, the flight attendants were SO friendly, especially compared to United and American Airlines. and FREE WIFI! oh and real snacks not shitty snack mix that United gives. OH and the boarding process! thank you for COMMON SENSE, board the back of the plane first!!!! overall i am very happy with the experience. the economy seats gave as much leg room as the economy plus on United. as you can tell I hate united and have been flying with them a long time."
Cons: "the plane i was on was a little older model but it really wasn't bad plus there was still free wifi so no complaints. only plus i could say for improvement would be power between seats, even if it's just a USB port :)"
Cons: "There should have been food for purchase."
Pros: "Quick boarding. Nice crew. Newer clean plane."
Cons: "No screens provided. You have to use your phone with the United app and that’s assuming you have headphones and they gave me ear buds but they don’t work for iPhones...so yeah."
Pros: "more space on this flight somehow? still cramped but not as bad as others."
Cons: "Crew was late. Delayed the flight by 45 minutes."
Pros: "The seat was very comfortable"
Cons: "Wasn't expecting to have to run all the entertainment through my mobile device. I'd that's what you're gonna do, we're should get free wi-fi"
Cons: "Late flight No room for bags for Group 2 in bulkhead row"
Pros: "Well we boarded and left early..."
Cons: "No free entertainment, kept us on the plane for 30 minutes before getting in to the gate, and left our luggage on a later flight."
Pros: "Service was nice & early."
Cons: "Boarded the plane later to be asked to switched planes because of mechanical problems with the first one. After boarding the second 2 hour delayed plane my family and I were asked to step off the plane and go to the front desk because they made the mistake to give several people the same seats. It was horrible, and embarrassing. My family, friends and I will definitely won’t be flying eith United."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Your customer service sucks. Not sure if the agents know what they are doing as we are tossed from Delta airlines to United airlines"
Cons: "Seats are not very comfortable. Food selection is not very good.."
Cons: "THere was no entertainment"
Pros: "We flew for only 45 minutes on a flight that had been scheduled for 1.3 hours."
Cons: "The long delay seemed strange, as the plane had arrived from Costa Rica. Why would an airline schedule the same plane for an international flight and then a short hop from Newark to DC without adequate time in between? The departure gate at Newark was absolute chaos! Announcements were overlapping and not understandable. There was inadequate seating."
Pros: "They fixed it quickly so I'm over it."
Pros: "Economy Basic check-in was easier than I'd expected it to be, security was quick and seamless. Once on board the aircraft, the flight crew kept us informed about possible weather issues (e.g. turbulence), including the approximate time to expect it, how long it might last, and that it would probably preclude in-flight beverage service. Flight attendants offered to provide one-at-a-time beverage service to those "really in need of a drink." I thought that was pretty gracious under the circumstances, and was happy to see that passengers didn't take advantage of the option :-). Looks like United is doing its best to counteract its recent negative publicity. Well done!"
Pros: "Seemed like an older jet, so the seats felt larger and more comfortable than most newer aircraft these days. I was surprised they could land a 757 at DCA, but we did!"
Pros: "Got home earlier than planned because I was able to get on an earlier flight."
Cons: "Poor customer service.Flight was delayed and the employees at the counter where not helpful at almost missed my connection if the crew in Jersey weren't waiting for our flight to arrive.Since then I try my best not using United to flight"
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "Seats are uncomfortable and cramped."
Pros: "I got to my destination."
Cons: "Here is no entertainment. The snacks are minuscule and pretty boring. And we sat on the tarmac at both Houston and DCA for a long time."
Pros: "Staff at airport and cabin crew were mostly nice. At airport, the ticket agent helped correct a mistake and was very helpful."
Cons: "There are TVs on the backs of chairs where they advertise that you can pay to watch shows or movies and play the safety video. That would be fine if you could just turn it off once that's done. But it was too hard to turn off, and after the safety video, they played three ads (you couldn't turn the ads off). At the end of the flight the tvs camenon again. It was also a night time flight - how can you sleep with the screen on. Also, the seat space seemed smaller than usual so the screen was in my face. I hated this flight."
Pros: "United canceled my flightl"
Cons: "United canceled my flightl"
Cons: "Delayed because of mechanical problems and did not announce gate changes."
Pros: "It was perfect flight by all means"
Cons: "This was horrible. There was a delay and there was no announcement in the terminal. If I had not been checking my email I would have had no idea. I kept getting emails from UA with different times and they were all wrong."
Pros: "It was a quick flight. The flight attendant was friendly."
Pros: "Crew is nice"
Cons: "United app doesn't work on all my devices"
Pros: "It's was on time."
Cons: "The airplaine smells bad."
Pros: "The flight attendants were courteous, despite the screw-ups caused by the computer system."
Cons: "The computer system issued the same seat number to my wife and two other people, and two me and one other person. Other people had duplicate seat assignments as well. Worse, for an overnight flight, my seat would not recline."
Pros: "I slept"
Cons: "Provide real food. Board back to front, window to aisle"
Pros: "The plane is new and it was spacious and comfortable."
Cons: "They change the gate and no one told us anything, just when someone asked they told us, flight was delayed but fortunately we arrived on time. You have to pay for al the entertainment."
Cons: "Terrible delays and little to no communication."
Cons: "Delays sand discomfort!"
Pros: "TSA was very rude in Cleveland."
Pros: "We made it with all our luggage"
Cons: "LONG walk at ORD from gate to gate. Very confusing boarding process."
Cons: "It seems that United is always overbooked and does not have space for carry-on's (obligating you to place carry-on's with regular baggage)."
Pros: "The crew was very nice"
Cons: "Having to go from one end of the airport to the other to get my luggage. I will never fly united again"
Pros: "Flight was fine."
Cons: "We arrived with 10 minutes to make our next flight at ORD. The flight crew could have requested that folks who did NOT have tight connections wait a few minutes so the rest of us could get off the plane efficiently. This did not happen. Folks who lived in Chicago just took their sweet time gathering their stuff while we waited."
Pros: "Able to sleep the whole way"
Cons: "Nothing in particular"
Cons: "Arrived at 1:30 AM"
Cons: "Seating on the plane for about 2 1/2 hours"
Cons: "Long waiting time to get luggafe"
Pros: "I did not like anything .We had four hours of delay. They did not even have the curtesy of giving us something to eat."
Cons: "At Chicago they charged me # 25(dollars) for my bag that weighed Twenty Five pounds. Why? When I left D.C. I had the same bag with me in the plane. When I asked the people at the United Counter no body could give an answer."
Cons: "Departure was delayed for five hours. Gate changes 4 different times to opposite sides of the terminal. Weren't told honest reason of the delay until two hours in. They boarded half of the plane and stopped when the pilots radioed in that there was a severe hydraulic fluid leak. Updates were supposed to happen every thirty minutes but more than three times they were longer than thirty minute intervals and at one point more than ninety minutes without an update. The representatives at the Chicago gate told us we were all set then the rest of the passengers boarded the plane. The pilot said they were waiting on maintenance paperwork to print off but then we waited an extra hour at the gate on board while we could still hear very loud tests of the hydraulic system. Once we finally left the gate and headed out on the runway for takeoff we stopped just before takeoff and the pilot said we were waiting on PAPERWORK AGAIN! This was another 30 minute delay and we finally took off. We were supposed to arrive home at 10:00pm and instead arrived at 3:00am..."
Cons: "After three on-time flights from the other side of the world, I was stuck in Chicago for a 3 hour delay. The flight finally arrived at Reagan 2 minutes after the runway closed so we were rerouted to a different airport where we finally landed 4 hours late."
Pros: "Uncrowded flight so there were lots of extra seats!"
Cons: "No food or snacks provided for free."
Cons: "The only thing that was not good was the wifi-- we used it on our first flight from LAX to Chicago, but from Chicago to DCA we were unable to connect."
Cons: "It was delayed so I had to take another flight. I've been trying to get this flight refunded"
Pros: "Everything was nice about this flight"
Spirit needs better seats
Baggage check and Boarding was easy. Seats reminded me of the old Yugo car with not enough room. Attendants didn’t seem to want to be there. Lights were never turned off on this red eye flight. To be fair, management has been making some very poor decisions lately and moral is low.
THE FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED SO NOT CANCELLING MY FLIGHT WOULDVE BEEN GREAT!
Plane did not have outlets for charging devices. The seats are uncomfortable.
Pros: "Flying from Fort Lauderdale to DC, our boarding gate was switched without adequate notification. While up headed to the bathroom I noticed the flight information changed. When I asked the gate “Spirit” gate attendant, who was there the entire time, she told me the gate changed. I went to the new gate where the incoming flight was already deboarding the plane. 10 minutes later other passengers from my flight began to arrive complaining about sharing electronic notifications because the attendant made no attempt to let passengers know the gates had changed. She did publicize other gate changed a while I was at the original gate, but never announced my flight’s gate change. Claiming bags in DC was also an unorganized event. I understand the no frills concept but I can’t recommend Spirit to anyone I wish to remain friends with, no matter how cheap the tickets are."
Cons: "Ticketing, boarding, bag claim."
Pros: "flight attendant was nice, but..."
Cons: "The flight attendant said that i was sick and they escorted me off the plane after i ran to it from check in counter because they were boarding already. I ate literally in the car before i got to the air port, so check in told me to run to make it. the tsa knew i asked people if i can jump ahead in line and they said yes, they all knew i was in a hurry, the boarding door guy knew that i was out of breath and i told him i was out of shape, so dont mind me. I was one of the last people to sit down. So after 15 minutes of me cooling down, and after the flight attendant gave me water, napkins, and an ice pack, then i felt nauseous and i threw up in the bathroom. I felt much better because it was the food that i just ate right before i did all the running. I told them that this is what happened, and as you can see i am sweaty and was in a hurry to make it here. they said for my safety that i need to get off the plane to be examined. I literary purged the full stomach i had after running from one end of the air port to the other. It has been told to most people that you must let your food digest before doing physical activity. I am out of shape and that run over exerted my body. So they had me removed off the plane, after i desperately attempted to make the flight before they stopped boarding, which i did, and I got taken off. Rude."
Pros: "The website and App crashed on multiple instances. When I first created an account my flights were not coming up for my name. I had to call on both of my flights to get this issue fixed. How hard would it have been to fix for both flights on the 1st call? I didn’t get a seat assigned for both of my flights and had to call customer service. All on my friends got seats assigned and based on past experiences, this led me to believe the flight was overbooked. Therefore, on the one flight I had to pay 18 dollars just to ensure I had a seat. I had my boarding pass on my app when I through security at BWI. Then mysteriously the boarding pass didn’t show up when I got to my gate. There were no employees at the counter to print my boarding pass. Horrible experience overall"
Cons: "Customer service, the app"
Pros: "Low cost travel with no frills attached. Friendly crew. On-time boarding, before scheduled time arrival! Had heard a lot of bad things but my experience was not bad at all."
Cons: "Not even basic beverages & snacks provided for 5-6 hour flight."
Pros: "Easy and quick boarding"
Cons: "You get what you pay for and the flight was super cheap. However, the nickle and dime gouging for bags was a turnoff. The main reason I'll never fly again though, was pure discomfort. The seats resemble metal folding chairs with fabric stretched over them and they don't recline - at all. For a cross country trip and a red-eye return these are deal breakers. Two days later and my back still aches. This airline does a good job at what it does, however, that's not very much. If you have more than two pennies to rub together, you'd be smart to sterr clear of it, as I will be doing from now on. Lesson learned and chalking this one up to experience."
Pros: "It was a terrible experience start to finish and I will never fly with Spirit again. It started off with inefficient and confusing lines and then it was delayed over 3 hours with no posted updates at the gate of explanations. There were no apologies or offers to amend the situation. The seats do not recline and the space is very cramped and I don't think it is actually legal to not offer free drinking water when passengers are stuck on board for over 6 hours which was the case for this flight. Only because after boarding everyone they realized the door wouldn't close properly and had maintenance work on it for over an hour. on my return trip to Seattle the check in process at BWI was even worse and the flight attendants were late to the gate so boarding was delayed. They also told me there were no available seats to transfer too, but once on board I discovered there were over 80 seats available on the flight. So she completely lied to me for no explainable reason. Over all I was appalled on both trips and quite frankly, the tickets are not that much less than any other airline going from BWI to SEA and back - the benefit of reasonable comfort and human decency far out weighs the possible 30 bucks I saved and then spent on a carry on bag. Spirit should not be allowed to operate, it is a shady and mean organization and I have made sure to broadcast my terrible experience to everyone I know. As a travel site you should really consider you're role in promoting such a dismal travel experience/airline. I am loyal to kayak and generally trust the validity of the site, but i am disappointed that I was encouraged to purchase such a terrible trip through your site and may consider different options in the future."
Cons: "No part of this flight was an enjoyable experience."
Pros: "The crew during the flight was pleasant."
Cons: "They say why're the cheapest airline around, and that's true....in the worst ways. The flight itself isn't expensive, but they charge $30 per bag you carry on and more for checked bags. They don't offer free water on long flights, and they make you pay for any and all beverages. Nothing is included in your flight. Their new planes, while 'green' and fuel efficient are unbearably uncomfortable to fly in. The seats are hard molded plastic with about an inch of padding and aren't adjustable T all. Flying more than four hours was pure hell, seated upright. Also, be sure to pay for your bag at the ticket counter. They charge you twice as much at the gate if you don't remember. And it's printed on your boarding pass, so don't think they're letting you off easy. It's a trap to get you to pay more."
Pros: "That the plane actually landed."
Cons: "2 hours late and 5 different gates. The funny part was kayaks notifications of gate changes were faster than Spirits Crew. When I asked if the new information was correct she gave me attitude. Then 10 minutes later reported the new gate that Kayak had already determined. That was just boarding. Paid for the more comfortable/spacious seating which was nice but useless when coupled with seats that do not recline whatsoever. Painful and slightly torturous. Don't fly them you'll save money by choosing someone else. $ to pick seat $ to bring a carry on...those who didn't know that paid somethingnlike $65 at the gate. The worst. Never again."
Cons: "Upon checking in, the guy working the counter said he didn't know how to put in my TSA precheck number and that was going to be it. I had to ask him to please ask his colleague, who showed him in 3 seconds. Not exactly great customer service. Then for boarding, the woman called the group numbers out of order, causing confusion. The seats were so incredibly uncomfortable, I could not sleep at all! It was an overnight flight to boot. Ugh. Never again will I fly this airline. I felt lucky to make it to the east coast. There was no confidence instilled by the employees."
Pros: "The plane seemed new. The seats were pretty comfortable for an airplane, although not enough legroom. The food cart by Cosi in the waiting area is pretty good for a food cart, except there are so many people the staff get overwhelmed."
Cons: "The Spirit waiting area at Boston Logan is terrible. It's way too small for the number of people boarding and deplaning. There is constant jostling (even while you're sitting down) as people try to get through the crowd. And there is only one food cart unless you go back through security. The food cart is by Cosi, so the food is reasonably good, but with this many people the lines for a coffee or lukewarm breakfast wrap are long. And you have to keep moving to let people pass by. Oh, and I had a 2.5 hour delay on last flight to BWI."
Cons: "Cancelled flight with prior notice at all. Only one person to help everyone on the flight figure out their travel plans - waited in line 1.5 hours just to speak to someone. Had to take a connecting flight to Boston and ended up in my destination 6 hours later than planned. On my way back from Fort Lauderdale, almost every Spirit flight in the entire airport was delayed. My flight boarded on time, but when we were ready to take off, the captain came on the loud speaker and said that we need to go back to the gate because 3 flight attendants need to get off of the plane. First and last time ever flying with Spirit."
Pros: "Nothing. If this airline lasts a year I will be surprised."
Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines. This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Cons: "I accidentally booked an 9pm flight when I meant to select 9am flight at 8am after missing my jetblue flight. I needed to get to Baltimore for work. I went through security and while I was about to board the plane they turned me away due to my ticket being incorrect. The woman checking the boarding passes rudely said "there's no room on this plane so we can't switch this ticket to 9am." I went to Spirit customer service minutes after I was turned away and they told me there was in fact room on that plane. So because of an honest mistake, they 1) wouldn't refund my ticket and 2) were rude and unhelpful and refused to let me on a plane that had plenty of space but they didn't want to inconvenience themselves for 5 minutes to change my boarding pass even after I had gone through security. I will never book Spirit again, even if I'm desperate."
Pros: "Everything went smoothly"
Cons: "A lady helping to help us print boarding passes wasn't very professional. She just said, "you have to print your boarding passes before you go check in your bags." Her tone was commanding and rude. Could use improvement and some fine tuning. I know she didn't mean to be rude. Just needs more training. I got the notice of the gate change when I got home to Baltimore. And things are just too expensive. Even though I checked my bags and paid online, I still paid $40. Too expensive. And you pay for every little thing. I would fly Spirit again, but likely not my first choice."
Pros: "Pilot or flight attendant making the announcements was funny."
Cons: "Carrying on a backpack and being forced to pay for a seat cost more than the actual flight. This is blatant dishonesty. You are not a cheap airline. You hide costs that customers are then forced to pay once they buy a ticket. I pay less to check a 50 lb piece of luggage for an international trip than I paid to carry on small backpack for an hour and a half flight. And, customer services reps are rude no sense of trying to ease customer frustrations. An announcement was made that a flight was cancelled and everyone needed to go to some desk to rebook. No apology, no acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Horrible customer service and dishonesty. I've had problems in the past with flights being delayed because flight attendants didn't show. No thanks."
Pros: "Love the prices and the cleanliness of the airplane. Every staff I have interacted with have been friendly, polite, and look as though they enjoy their job and coworkers. The Spirit terminal at the Baltimore airport is phenomenal. It is spacious, clean, bright and modern. I will definitely be flying Spirit again!"
Cons: "This is the second time that I have flown from Logan airport on Spirit. Both times I have been very disappointed and disgusted by the terminal. The terminal is crowded and unclean. There were crumbs, wrappers and bottles on the floor. The trash can near the gate was overflowing with boxes and napkins. I was in the terminal for over two hours and not once was the bathroom or terminal serviced by facilities or maintenance staff. The bathroom is dark and crowded as well. Because the stalls and space is so small it's hard to manage your bags while using the bathroom. I would highly encourage an extra shift for cleaning crew and perhaps a different layout for chairs to make it feel less crowded and to bring a modern feel and look to the terminal."
Pros: "My flight into florida not bad except I thought the plane was going to shake apart for the first 1/3 of the ride"
Cons: "Some how they did something wrong when they put my information in the computer for my return flight departing from Ft. Lauderdale. I was not able to check in and print my boarding pass ahead of time. I called the customer service line twice to confirm that my reservation was intact even though I could not print the pass. At the airport there was no "bag drop" so everyone from all Spirit flights had to wait in a line that was 2 blocks long (no lie.) It took 45 mins. to get to the counter. Once there no one could seem to figure out what was wrong and it didn't seem to be a priority for them as they were putting out quite a few other fires. I stood at the counter for another 45 mins. They finally were able to print my boarding pass. Thank god I was TSA approved or I would not have made the flight. That did not seem to bother any of their employees. They won't be seeing me again!"
Pros: "How inexpensive and quick the flight was."
Cons: "From the minute I walked into the airport to the spirit counter, all the check in machines were down. I don't fly often so when one of the ladies at the counter said something about checked bags that I didn't understand and I asked her about it she was kind of rude giving her response. The food was expensive and the flight attendant was bitchy. Why don't your seats recline?! And there was gum stuck in pretty much every book (the plane instructions manual, the menu) I get that you get a good deal flying spirit but I feel like your flight attendants hate their jobs."
Pros: "I left the plane and vowed never to travel with them again. I travel a lot and they are the worst in terms of addons, trying to penalize by price, (not cheap) unless you have no reason to take luggage (like a meeting where you need a change of clothes There "basic" is cheap if you need nothing else, but when you start checking luggage at $50 a suitcase a round trip of $100 any bargain is soon gone. And some of the staff (the stewardess outbound from Baltimore is Ok. But they changed planes and the bigger seat I paid for was not available. Getting a refund required checking several times. Most said they couldn't do it. The final person in Baltimore, was "lounging: against the counter". Grabbed by ticket ungraciously. Was clearly irritated that I had a refund provlem that she "had" to deal with. No smile, NO NO For the uninitiated flyer they may work. If you don't know what else is available at what price and if you read there advertising and treat riding with the like voting for trump (believing all untruths) OK. Just not for me who is an experienced flyer. I had heard Spirit was bad from others who said they would never ride with them again. But I gave them one chance--they blew it. Anne"
Pros: "My trip once in Las Vegas was great, however my experience flying with Spirit was the worst for my girlfriend and I. We tried to pay our luggage fees from home but weren't able to do so from our mobile phones, they charged us each $55 for one piece of luggage & they only allow you 40 pounds. Then once at the gate & before boarding the plane they told me I had to pay $65 for my small carry on, it fitted perfectly in their sample measurement they have there & still the woman from Spirit told me if you want to get on the plane you need to pay $65 now or you'll lose the flight. Same for coming back. They didn't even allowed us to sit together. So initially the flight was apparently cheap but with all the expensive luggage fees came up to $500 RT from BWI to Vegas. Worst experience ever! I've flown all over & with many airlines & this has been the worst experience ever, I'm never flying with them again & same for my girlfriend."
Cons: "The alert was finally sent to us well past the time we would have been going through security. Luckily, we had checked on our own through a third party app,. No alternative flights were available, so we had to book on another airline and cancel the Spirit tickets. The credit policy is draconian. We may not be able to meet the redemption requirements and will probably lose the entire value. The process created so much frustration and wasted so much time. The low-ish price is simply not worth it."
Pros: "The pilots were very good. Smooth flight and I felt comfortable with their professionalism. I also liked the reserved seats. There didn't seem to be a big RUSH with everybody trying to get front seating. Boarding went well. Also, the fact you pay for everything you bring (except one personal item) travelers were not taking advantage of too many carry-ons, which also speeded up the boarding process."
Cons: "Overall the employee moral was very negative. When people travel they expect to be greeted with a friendly smile and a few nice words. I had two flights with Spirit and I was disappointed with the overall employee moral and lack of team spirit / enthusiasm. It made me wonder how they would react if there was an on-flight emergency. And even though the tickets were the lowest fare available, after paying to reserve my seat and for my carry-on bag, the price was the same as several other airlines. Lastly, there was no complimentary drinks or snacks."
Pros: "After getting through the gate, the boarding was simple."
Cons: "No mobile ticketing at O'hare. Security noted that Spirit requires you go through their ticket kiosks/desk, despite sending a mobile QR code to go through it when going through mobile check-in (itself a serious pain due to a terrible website). Further, they don't advertise that the cost of the seat and carry-on negates any savings on the ticket price itself. I couldn't even get a simple cup of water from flight attendants ("bottled water only, $3 per"). I will never willingly purchase a flight from Spirit again."
Cons: "I expect when I am quoted a flight price that the price includes a seat. When I went to check in for my Spirit flight I discover that any seat has an additional charge. I call that false advertising. Worse of all is the Spirit check in process. I paid for my luggage and seat ( see above) in advance and printed out my boarding pass before I went to the airport. The check in procedure was a horror. Each of the two flights I still had to wait 40+ minutes to hand in my luggage. No check in machines. Just understaffed check in counters. Compare that Spirit check in experience with my last Southwest flight where I used a machine to print out my boarding pass and which also printed out my luggage tags and I just handed my luggage to an attendant.. Total Southwest check in time 5 minutes. Every one on line with me at Spirit was basically saying first time on Spirit and the last. Really the savings with Spirit in not that great when you add in the seat cost and the very high baggage charges. Not worth hassle for the small savings and resent the false price advertising"
Pros: "I arrived."
Cons: "Every time I fly Spirit Airlines, I swear I'll never do it again. Then I see the low fares and I say "okay, just one more time." This experience was another leg in that cycle. A low fare, a "one more time," and a fierce "oh hell no--never again." When I arrived at the airport, the ticket counter looked like a flea market. It was absolutely mobbed. My flight was departing in about an hour, and one woman in line had already been waiting for 2.5 hours. Since Spirit Airlines does not participate in the mobile boarding pass process (FOR SOME INANE GODFORSAKEN BULLSHIT REASON), I still had to check in and get my boarding pass. And since two other Spirit flights had recently been cancelled, the ticket counter line was a trainwreck. An utter mass of dispirited humanity, waiting, ironically enough, at a counter called "Spirit." I managed to maneuver my way through, and with several strokes of luck and a possible intervention from God, I left the sad zoo of passengers behind me and made it through security, to the gate, and into the boarding line, with my idiotic paper boarding pass. As you might imagine, I was somewhat rushed and a touch flustered, though grateful to be en route to my destination. I was thirsty though, a combination of the morning's odyssey, the recycled cabin air, and this human need to hydrate that we share with literally every living thing on the planet. So I waited patiently for the pilot to extinguish the "seatbelt" sign, walked up to the flight attendants and politely asked for a glass of water. "That will be $3.00," she said. I paused for a moment. Surely there must be a mistake. I wanted water. Not coffee or tea or lemonade or a cocktail. Just a glass of water. This is how I came to realize that access to something that is a biological necessity for survival--that I would be granted gratis almost anywhere else--costs, on Spirit Airlines. Only those with access to a functioning credit card will be served water. Now I understand that keeping costs down is the only way this poor excuse for an airline stays in business. Every one of its passengers is there as a personal compromise, dodging hidden fees for "legroom" and seat selection and peanuts at every turn to get to their location without selling their souls to the corporate demons who've re-vamped the age-old "bait and switch" and call it a bargain. But if Spirit persists in being a seething mess of a nightmare of a preposterous front of a business, and if their customers continue to play along and manage to navigate the utter catastrophe of a process it can become to reach a destination via Spirit Airlines, one might believe that once they sit down in their unassigned (unless you're willing to pay an additional $14 each way) se"
Pros: "Not a single thing."
Cons: "The flight was canceled 15 minutes after boarding was supposed to have started. This was at 11PM. We were told to go back to the ticket counter and see if other arrangements could be made. Another flight was also canceled at this time. It took us until 3 am to reach the ticket counter. When I got there the ticket agent asked if I could take a video of the lines for her to send to her children. After declining a 7AM flight with three stops that would have taken us to L.A. first and had us land in Baltimore at midnight, we were given tickets out on Jet Blue, a real airline, the next day at 10AM. We were also given vouchers for 3 meals, a taxi ride to and from the airport, and a hotel. However, no restaurant in the airport would take the vouchers and neither would the taxi back to the airport. The taxi was even the same company that took us to the hotel less that six hours earlier. Spirit barely had any communication with us on any of this. There was never an explanation for why the flight was canceled. They also allowed people to jump the line and get vouchers, slowing the overall process. It is safe to say I will never fly Spirit again, no matter how cheap it is."
Pros: "Loved the flight attendants. Very helpful and grateful they were willing to help me relocate to another seat forward of the rear."
Cons: "When I went online to purchase a seat the only one showing available was 28E at the far back of the plane. When I entered the random choice the assignment was 26C.... why was this one not shown??? And why couldn't I purchase a seat forward of the rear??? This flight was half empty. Thankfully the attendant moved me up to Row 11 which was totally empty. I do NOT like sitting in the back of the plane and that is why I try to purchase a seat over or forward of the wing. NOT a happy camper over this."
Pros: "ONCE i got on the flight. The actual crew members were lovely. Very personable. The plane was clean. Comfortable. Theer was no entertainment. No tv working anyway. But i was fine. IT WAS EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED BEFORE MY FLIGHT THAT WAS HORRIBLE>"
Cons: "Not only would i NEVER reccomend Spirit. I will be writing about how highly UN satisfied i wa with Spirit and i will HIGHLY discourage anyone of my readers and listeners on air to ever use Spirit. My first encounter was in Baltimore when the woman behind the counter argued with me until i missed my flight. Then when i explained i lost my credit card and HAD to get on the very next flight ( that she made me miss being rude and disrepectful ) i called my husband so he coudl give her our credit card toi book the next flight. She purposefully sat the phone down and waited on others. Then she let him give her all of his information and said Oh Well you have to call reservations. By the time he got through i missed that fligth too. I did not use Spirit that day ! Coming back theer was again a woman working for Spirit at the airport who again was rude and ignorant. She argued with me that i could not take my purse and my carry on bag on to the plane. I have been traveling business for over twenty five years. YES I CAN. AND I DID. Howevr not before she laid her hands on me. When i tried to walk away from her combative behavior. She grabbed my arm. NEVER will i ever say a nice word about Spirit. NEVER will i not try to telkl as many people as possible about the horrible people you have representing your company. They are the First Voice. The First face They are the ones you have chosen to be the FACE OF SPIRIT. You They are highly UN qualified. Most certainly NOT personale, polite , or professional. SMH. Absolutely DISGUSTING."
Pros: "I was apprehensive to book a flight from this airline due to its size and relative unknown but was pleasantly surprise by the experience. The steward was hilarious and kept everyone on board attentions for the duration of the flight by making very good and funny jokes about the airline including tasteful tacky joke about how not to expect much from them because we all knew what we had paid for.... The flight was very smooth and pleasant! Overall I was very pleased!"
Cons: "Spirit Website and the way it tries to get more for seating, bag is understandable but is a turn off to me.... I was not able to put a should bag which normally goes under the seat in place due to the fact that there was an oversize person who sit in the seat in front . And as I tried to push the bag in, I felt much resistance and the person said I can't as it was pushing against her feet! I had to have it under my feet the duration of the fight and curiously attendant did not see or asked me to put it overhead! the bag fits under my return flight with another airline fine !"
Pros: "I paid for 5 tickets so I liked the price."
Cons: "It cost me more than the price of 1 ticket to check only 2 bags both ways for the 5 of us. Checking in in Orlando was the worst experience ever and I fly at least monthly. We were put in 3 different lines in 30 minutes. The last line we were put in, the agent said she would have to charge us for PRINTING OUT BOARDING PASSES though we were told to go to that line without boarding passes. Security was terrible experience. Took forever. I nearly missed the flight. The door had already been closed when I got there. Airline staff were surly even though it was not my fault. Flight was good. Will never fly Spirit again"
Pros: "The flight was the cheapest option available and was cheaper than other airlines."
Cons: "While I had heard bad things about Spirit airlines, I had never flown with them before. I was unaware at the time of booking that Spirit charges exorbitant fees for even carry-on luggage. As a result, I chose to attempt to fit all of my clothes and necessary items in a "personal item" sized bag to avoid the additional $90 it would cost me to bring a large backpack or standard carry-on suitcase. Other fees are charged for seemingly standard items such as being able to select a seat location and receiving a drink during the flight. I could have flown with another airline for the same price if I included the carry-on fee, and in retrospect wish I had. The problems did not stop there, however. Both my departing flight and return flight were delayed over an hour in clear weather. The flight itself was also the worst I have experienced. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and felt like metal folding chairs. They did not recline and there was very little leg room. The full cabin lights were on for most of my return flight, which had been delayed over two hours to 11:15 pm, making any rest impossible. I will never fly Spirit again and will try to spread the word so that nobody else has to endure a flight from this poorly-run, money-grubbing excuse for an airline. You have been warned!"
Pros: "It was cheap."
Cons: "i got a notification half way through the day that my 11:30 pm flight was getting delayed an hour, greeaaaat. I got to the airport that evening an hour before we were supposed to board and people watched. The flight before us from our gate was supposed to take off at 11:25 but randomly decided to take off EARLY. 20 people missed the flight and the desk lady said the next flight they could take would be Tuesday and this was a Sunday. What the heck! I digress. So we board our flight and get ready to take off. We are literally in line to go into the air when the captain comes on and says we have to go back to the gate to shift luggage around bc the aircraft is in balanced. Shouldn't they have realized that prior?! So we had to go back and we didn't end up taking off until almost 2:30 am. I will never fly spirit again. It's not worth the cheapness."
Pros: "I liked nothing about this airline or the plane."
Cons: "The staff are horrible; don't care about your issue they only want to charge you for things they don't have to. They charged me $110 per trip total of $220 roundtrip and my flight cost $213 roundtrip. They charge $3 for a bottle of water. When I asked for a cup of water they said ONLY IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE A PILL if I do not want to buy a $3 bottle of water. They charged me $55 for a backpack carry on (because it had wheels and it was 18"x14"x10"!!! I would never fly this airline again. None of their seats on the plane recline!!! I was stiff and sore."
Pros: "Fast boarding and unboarding."
Cons: "Charging $55 fee for a carry-on is way too much!! If you pay for your carry-ons online it is $10 dollars less.I tried to do that, but, unfortunately every time I tried to complete the transaction the page keep redirecting me to buy more "extra services". I chose check out without any extras but nothing!! The webpage was no responsive!! I tried to pay for my carry-on from my cell, laptop and tablet. But same result, that page became frozen without allowing me to pay the fee. I don't know if this was an unfortunately condidence, or is done on purpose to charge the extra $10!!"
Pros: "The person who helped us with our refund was very helpful."
Cons: "We arrived to the airport to check our bags and were informed that our flight had been delayed an hour for maintenance. No huge issue with us we decided to eat breakfast and then hang out for a bit before the flight boarded. We arrived at the gate to find out the plane was delayed another 8 hours. I understand issues happen all the time that are out of our hands. The gentleman at the gate was extremely helpful and accommodating, but he still gave it a 50/50 shot of the plane being cancelled or not. We opted to receive a refund and drive to Baltimore. I completely understand that this was a safety issue with the plane. I'm not upset that the flight was delayed. But having to wait 9 hours for a plane that may or may not be able to make it or be cancelled was tough."
Pros: "The price of the flight. Flight Crew members were pleasant."
Cons: "I tend to make the best of all situations but this time it was very difficult. Honestly, I would rather pay the "hidden fees" for a more comfortable flight with the ability to recline my seat, travel with a carry on bag and have in flight refreshments without having to pay extra. Sitting in an upright position for 5 hours straight with no leg room is torture. The thought of dodging hidden fees is great but not at the expense of comfortability and incurring additional baggage and in flight fees. Unfortunately, I would not fly with this airline again unless the flight is 2 hours or less and it was the only option available. Bottled water should be free for travelers even if it's only the 8oz bottles. The snack/drink menu options are limited and the prices are ridiculous. Thank you for the services, however this will not be an option in the future."
Cons: "Spent the night trying to talk to a supervisor, Helen. She was a liar and the single worst customer service manager I have ever encountered in my life. After making us wait in line to talk to her. following a missed connections due to Spirit delays with their aircraft she told us that we didn't know what we were talking about, and that we should leave because she wouldn't be talking to us again. This was after she made us wait for 3 hours to speak to her. I ended up in Philly instead of BWI because of this woman's incompetence and several hundred dollars poorer."
Pros: "Polite staff on board"
Cons: "Unannounced gate change at the last minute. Almost missed plane because the change affected the terminal. It never displayed on the board. We had gone through security and had to exit the airport to get to the switched terminal which was far (10 walk) and had to get through new security check. After going through the full body scanner, a TSA agent patted my hair with her dirty gloves. Nobody should have their hair patted down after going through a full body scanner. This is a violation of my person, of my privacy. Also noted that only coloured women had their hair patted down. We should never be treated like animals or differently than other travelers."
Pros: "one time departure and arrive"
Cons: "I chose Spirit because of its cheap flight price so I didn't expect a high quality of service. For example, I didn't expect a very comfortable seats or meals in the flight. But, there are some instances which are not dependent to the price/money like politeness of the flight attendant/employees or responsiveness of the boarding member. On the flight day, me and the other fellow traveler were waiting for the boarding but the gate was closed and no body was standing at the front of the boarding desk. Also, there was no LCD screen to show that this gate is assigned for the Houston or any other places. The time was passed from the original boarding time and we were still waiting for the boarding member. Accidentally, I saw a airport employee and ask him that this is the gate assigned to the IAH Houston? And he responded: "Oh no, the gate is changed!" Thus, I ran from the former gate to the new assigned gate. But I saw that the people are still waiting for the boarding member at the front desk. There was a 25min delay and all the people were standing and waiting for that lady to come. At the end, since she was alone and she couldn't handle all the people, she didn't check the boarding zone. It is important to be mentioned that I received the changing of the gate E-mail very late just I was entering the airplane! In the airplane, the flight attendant were not friendly. They didn't help the old people to entering the airplane or putting their luggage at the top cases. During the flight, they were just sitting and playing with their mobiles! Apart from this issues, the worst scenario happened in the baggage claim. When all the people were waiting about 30mins for delivery of the baggage. At the end, it was so disappointing to see one my baggage is broken and its handle bar was detached that I couldn't move it easily to the outside of the airport. I reported the issue to the Spirit baggage claim and that employee was not friendly either and she didn't even apologize! Therefore, I am currently totally disappointed about the Spirit because as I mentioned there are some instances which are not dependent to the price/money. Even cheap airlines should provide highly respected treatment to their customers."
Pros: "Let me start by saying that the entire purpose of Spirit is to be significantly cheaper than other airlines and at that, they have succeeded. We saved nearly $300 for two people round trip. That said, you have to read their policies before booking to fly with them as they do charge you for any baggage beyond a small backpack/purse. We planned accordingly and it worked just fine. Because they are cheaper, they also provide no movies or entertainment of any kind and no food/beverage provided. They are available for purchase on the flight or you could just again, plan accordingly and pack your own snacks and drinks before you board the flight. Many complaints about them having frequent delays. But we were fortunate enough to not have any of these on our outgoing and return flights. Flight attendance were friendly and courteous."
Cons: "They are cheap so they have the cheapest feeling cabins of any airline I've flown in the US. No reclining. Not much leg room. And not much of a tray table. For a 5 hour flight across the US it was a bit uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't book them again for a flight of the duration but it would be more than fine for a 2-3 hour flight considering the cost. Flight attendance were pushing the airlines credit card at the end of the flight."
Pros: "Spirit is known as an ultra low cost carrier. I did not know this when I purchased the tickets, so the fares we paid were a little less than that of competitors. The pros end there."
Cons: "For the amount of harassment one goes through to fly with Spirit, the slightly lower fares are not worth it. Frankly, it seems like a ploy to hook people and subsequently squeeze three nickels out of every dime for anything else on the flight. The boarding process was delayed by over an hour. The attendant speaking from the gate was rude, hostile, and obnoxious. Those boarding were practically interrogated to make sure the water bottle they were holding might not be an extra personal item. (You have to pay $55 for a carry-on but are allowed one personal item on Spirit. If you are caught carrying extra onto the plane without paying, it's a $100 fine. One which they are on the prowl for!) Once on the flight, there is no entertainment. There is no complimentary anything. You can buy food or drink with credit cards only. The seats do not even have a tilt function to them, so you can only sit upright. My personal favorite part of the flight was watching the fight that ensued between female passengers deboarding and the attendants that did nothing about it. Something about the ultra low cost carrier makes people crazed to get off the plane. At the end of a flight, everyone wants off a plane, but I have never seen such disorganized chaos and blatantly rude disregard for the deboarding process as on this flight. Next time I travel, I'll spend the extra $100 to fly with another airline. Lesson learned."
Pros: "Not one single thing!"
Cons: "Having to fly on Spirit, your crooked, deceitful, poor customer service ways. You are the bottom of the bottom! I can't believe that our government allows you to stay in business. Your planes are dirty, reeks of puke, and unsafe. It's only a matter of time before people start having health problems because of your dirty nasty planes and before the planes start falling out of the sky because of the old, poor maintained planes. Do us a favor and merge with another company who knows how to run an airline business like Southwest, American, Delta. Better yet, just SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "The flight was smooth, that's about it."
Cons: "Before I got on the aircraft, I stood at the counter and was ignored for 20 minutes. The flight attendants and person who was supposed to be manning the desk were all laughing and sharing stories near the breezeway and ignoring all the customers to come to the desk. I received my seat assignment just moments before we started boarding. First of all when I got on the airplane the floor and seats were covered with cookies crumbs. Also when I first got on the airplane there was trash still stuffed in the back of the seats. Second of all, the crew, one person in particular was not very professional with some of her comments and reminded me of how a high school student would act. I don't think I'll ever fly Spirit Airlines again and less it's a very short duration flight . The seats in this aircraft did not recline at all either and were really uncomfortable,"
Cons: "The trickery of low pricing is quickly realized with your inflated baggage and seating. No frills?? Water and a bag of peanuts wouldn't kill you. And the worst ever is your significantly inefficient ticketing process! A domestic flight shouldn't require a 2 hour airport arrival and even with that, leave 47 passengers at the gate... All that waited patiently thru limited attended ticketing and baggage drop lines followed by security all in an effort to maintain on time departure stats. Other airlines would at least provide a food voucher. I arrived at the airport in Ft. Lauderdale at 5:30 AM and didn't return to BWI until 12:30AM the next day. That's unconscionable and in this day and age -- flat out horrible business!"
Pros: "I liked the price and the onboard staff was pleasant. The pilots were appropriately apologetic."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed. Then delayed again, then delayed again and eventually cancelled!! So we were re-booked on the evening flight. Twelve hours later! Then that flight was delayed. And delayed again. Finally we took off 2 and a half hours after our scheduled flight time after spending 15 hours at the airport! We lost an entire day of our mini-vacation! We found out our flight was cancelled do to mechanical failure of the plane. We ended up with the very same plane that night and it was not fixed! They still had a problem with their auxillliary power so they had one Hell of a time getting the engines started we sat and sat and waited on the tarmac for the engines to finally be started. When we first arrived, the ticket agents were nice but seemed easily confounded and seemed to need a manager to help them with every single customer. Unfortunately, there was only one to go around. The baggage assistance office person was standoffish and acted like giving one word answers was a big intrusion on her time, although we were the only customers there when we talked to her. Baggage was in front of and behind her office door. We had to go in through a side door she shared with American Airlines. It was as if she wanted to discourage people from talking to her. There is more, but you get the picture."
Pros: "come on, have you ever been on more than 1 Spirit flight that landed at the expected arrival time?"
Cons: "being delayed 2 hours due to who knows what and missing captains :-/ And it makes a difference when you're trying to catch a train to DC after midnigt. Every time I fly Spirit, I swear I will never do it again, but the tickets are so cheap and the crew is always so nice. So WTF? Charge me 10 ir 20 more bucks and take off on time a little more than 60% of the time and maybe I'll recommend you to fellow travelers. Otherwise you stay a guilty pleasure and your flight continue to go unfilled. I know I'm not the only one to this..."
