(which I didn't learn before flying so it was a pleasant surprise, most airlines want to charge you for the domestic leg of your flight)! They allowed us to board early and were very accommodating for our family of 7. I finally figured out the in air entertainment on our devises, which didn't seem to work on our previous flight. Snacks were minimal."

We were seated in the back of the plane, had a very short layover, and had to get from gates "N" to "D". Not being familiar with the airport, we probably would have missed our flights, had it not been for our "airport guide". If you can get your carry-on luggage checked for free, (only offered when the flights are full) this is an awesome service!"

I sat at a window seat watching baggage handlers look at my bags with the fragile stickers all over both of them, then purposely flip them upside down and slam them on the conveyor to plane. Once I got to midland and opened my bags my boxes of Business supplies were damaged to the point that they have to be thrown away. If I could have insured my bags I would be suing Alaska airlines for the replacement of my damaged items, and the firing of the handlers that did the damage, including the loss of of money that I couldn't make because I couldn't do my job. 2. I informed stewardess that I was recovering from a dislocated shoulder and asked for a pillow or something that I could rest my arm on, that never happened and I had to sit for hours on the fight in discomfort and pain all the way. Thanks for making my flight a comfortable one. 3. I wasn't allowed to purchase anything on any flight with the cash in my pocket, including Wi-Fi / entertainment. Because I didn't have a credit card. This is a foul idea your company has. My cash should have been efficient enough. It is legal tender anywhere in the world but your airplanes. In my opinion I feel that your airlines suck and owes me the amount of 135.00 for the replacement of the items damaged, plus the amount of the tickets I paid for because I didn't receive the services in which should have been courteously given by your company. And apologies for that crappy treatment of me and my property. Just because I'm not one of your gold members or a credit card holder or first classed passenger shouldn't give your employees the right to treat anyone this way. I flew all the way from Alaska to midland to do a job and couldn't do it on time because of this treatment and damage. What would you do if this happened to you? Would you feel satisfied with how your company handles its PAYING CUSTOMERS???"

There was no beverage service on the first flight and by the second flight they then charged for alcohol when there was supposed to be a free drink on the first flight. No entertainment offered for a 5+ hour flight. I was initially excited to fly with Alaska and took a longer flight duration to do so and paid more because the company used to offer the customer more. I now see that is a thing of the past and will book with other airlines that still hold this value."

Delta knew this 30 minutes before my flight landed and yet Delta did not post or communicate that the flight was going to be delayed and then ultimately cancelled because there was NO PILOT. Of course when they scheduled the flight for the following day not only did they not have a full crew, they had NO PLANE. On the whole, it was pretty terrible."

WORST part was that the temperature in the seating area at the gate was horribly cold. Departing passengers at a neighboring gate were bound for Fargo and sat with their parkas on and with parka hoods up. We Houston-bound had packed our coats & boots and were shivering. Then when we finally boarded the crew announced that the plane's water system was broken and so we would have no hot coffee or hot tea or hot anything. No water, also and obviously, in the restroom sink. But sani-wipes were provided in the sink basin."

Three out of seven of the flight crew were not happy about how badly they were being treated by call center and /or management while they were delayed with us at gate. The rating for the crew is a 2 because although my flight attendants were awesome, but the service given to me and to my fellow flyers by the Customer Service Agents/Reps at the front desk and the training of a newbie at the gate, when boarding at the Anchorage, Alaska, airport was terrible. They were extremely unprofessional and did not seem to care that the tones of their voices, their facial expressions, as well as their body language, showed that they lacked the manners and knowledge of compassion, respect and courtesy. Their rotten attitudes were insufficient at making the customers/guests of the airlines feel comfortable before flying. I did not appreciate being spoken to the way some of the reps did."

The attendant even said she would ttry to move things around once people were seate without anyone asking. She just knew our row was going to be uncomfortable.. I am tall with big shoulders, the gentleman next to me was large. All that I ask is the attendant come back after all is settled and explain that it wasn't possible to move things around. Although, if there were seats available I should have been offered a different seat. I have flown a lot on different airlines. I've flown on a 15 hour flight overseas. This is BY FAR the most uncomfortable I have EVER been."

Total incompetence. Moreover, United has made profit so obviously more important than client comfort. The seats were similar to a straight back Dining room chair except with your knees in your chest. They even took away the seat back pouch as a smal comfort to place items to be replaced with an 8 inch high mesh that fits nothing larger than your cell phone. A 6 hour flight and 1 drink service with 1/2 glass of soda. Pay $7.99 only to find out that video does not work through Canada which was the majority of the flight"

Cons: "They canceled my flight, lost my luggage made me miss events in my life on my vacation and only comped me 20$ food ticket which is nothing in an airport. And I was stuck in an unfamiliar airport for 10 hours waiting for a new flight through another airline. Oh and dod I mention the bag they lost for a whole day was 50lbs of fresh Alaskan seafood and yes it all was thawed.... I will never fly United airlines again."

Pros: "Everything"

Pros: "Needed to get to a hurting friend asap who's husband was dying. When I checked my luggage the delta employee gave me a heartfelt hug & words of encouragement Which meant more to me then anything. That's not in any training manual that's the heart of a great employee...."

Pros: "Once on the aircraft everything was just fine"
Cons: "First of all it was delayed, no big deal but once i checked in I wasn't even assigned a seat. I try to find an agent at the boarding gate and none to be found. They finally arrive 30 min before take off and then assign me a middle seat when I specifically picked my seat weeks earlier and of course was one of the last people to board barely enough time to search for a place for my bag and get to my middle seat in the back of the aircraft. Not even a sorry or any type of compensation for a terrible experience"

Cons: "United has squeezed its Economy class customers into seats that are tolerable only for the shortest. If I were an inch or so taller, I would have found the space intolerable. As it was, my knees were against the seat in front. For a flight as long as this one (over 5 hours from Anchorage to Denver), it was uncomfortable to say the least. The middle of the plane was nearly empty, because United charges $75 per seat for an upgrade. For the round-trip for two of us, that would have added $300 to our bill. The fact that so few are willing to pay the upgrade fee indicates that the increment is too large."

Cons: "I don't think it's possible to construct a plane more cramped than that, but I'm sure someone will rise to the challenge."

Cons: "This review is for another flight that paid for the same day as this flight from LA to Lihue. The actual flight for this review is a different flight that I paid to get my friend on so could get home. He pretty much had an equally bad experience. The following is my review from my flight from San Diego to Lihue, through San Fransisco. I paid for both flights but wasn't offered the opportunity to submit a review for the flight I was on so I'm taking this opportunity now to do so. I was on a flight home after losing one of my best friends. The flight attendant was extremely rude, making me feel like she was going out of her way to get me a drink of water and never returned to offer food after they missed me when they went down the isle. The gentleman attending to the first class passengers was beyond rude to anyone attempting to use the lavatory near the first class section as if people were supposed to know that it was only available to first class passengers. I was never offered food and myself and other passengers repeatedly ignored by our flight attendant. The entire flight was freezing cold and the air blowing so loud that I couldn't hear any volume on the movie player I was watching, making that nearly impossible as well. I landed at my destination feeling cold and hungry with a pretty bad taste in my mouth towards United Airlines. I don't normally fly United but due to the untimely hospitalization of one of my best friends and having to fly on such short notice, it was all that was available. I used to be a united mileage member but my points expired and became useless to me, living in Hawaii with very few flights in and out of the state several years ago. They seem to have added flights since then but other airlines have won my loyalty since then. I was hoping for a better experience as I remember having better experiences flying United. After this recent experience, I'm not sure that I will be flying United again, especially given the price of fares and what you get for what you pay. You'd think the staff would be more welcoming knowing that people pay so much to fly and then pay for everything else once on the plane. (A comfortable seat, food, drink, etc)."

Cons: "I didn't like the 5 hour delay... Neither did any other United customer as it seemed like every single flight was delayed to everywhere for only united airlines"
