Pros: "Very engaging crew."
Cons: "Waiting 45 minutes, and 30 minutes after flight time for a few bags. They could have traveled on the next flight and arrived at almost the same time."
Cons: "Small aircraft, 2 seats on each side of the aisle, but that’s what you get when you fly short legs now."
Cons: "The snacks were limited. They only had cheez-its and no cookies."

Pros: "They let me sleep."

Cons: "Delta really struggles with trying to get everyone in the plane in an orderly fashion. Window seats must climb over all of the aisle passengers that got on before."
Pros: "Pleasant flight, plenty of entertainment on a long flight."
Cons: "Delayed our flight, had to buy another hotel night to accommodate and restructure our schedule, but it was pleasant other than that."
Pros: "Good flight."
Cons: "Delta scheduled us a connection with only 35 min of layover. We had to go from Concourse E to A and the plane was several min late.We barely made it before the gate closed 10 min before pushback."
Pros: "New airplanes. On time schedule .Very professional a"
Cons: "Could not get my boarding pass from Delta for the flight from PHX to LAX. Aeromexico did not confirm that leg of the trip, so I lost all day and had to buy another ticket for tomorrow. Still, Aeromexico has not solved anything"
Cons: "Full flight and tiny seats surrounded by 2 300lb guys and they wouldn't let me switch my seat."

Cons: "Long wait in hot plane before take off."
Pros: "The Flight crew was great and the pilot got us there with the least amount of delay as possible. Thanks everyone!"
Pros: "New comfort seats. Nice staff. Pilot kept us continuously updated."
Cons: "Unclear info on upgrade [priority boarding when upgraded?]. Inability to upgrade ticket made using mileage points or upgrade at counter at gate."
Pros: "Seats were reasonably comfortable."
Cons: "Boarding process was ok (they bused us over to the plane and then had us walking out halfway to the plane's stairs before frantically sending us back on the bus because the plane wasn't cleaned yet). Not a big deal but we were traveling with a 10 month old so miscommunications like that cause a larger inconvenience than usual. The real downer on the flight was when we needed hot water quickly to warm our infant's bottle. The stewardess had begun beverage service and was about 8 rows away from us. My wife hit the call button, expecting the stewardness to come over somewhat quickly. Instead, she just continued beverage service and got to us about 15 mins later. By that point it was too late and the baby was wailing from hunger. When we asked why, knowing that we had a small child, the stewardness didn't just push the cart forward and attend to us more quickly, she said she didn't want to do that. No apology, not even a sense of remorse. At the end of the day, a customer's experience will always be tainted by poor service and that is what we received on our flight."
Cons: "The redesign of seats means that very few of Delta's planes can actually accommodate a sherpa-style pet carrier, even though they are an industry standard for in-cabin travel. Further complicating the problem is that the clearance under the seat varies depending where in the cabin you're seated. It's become an extremely stressful proposition for which I have the privilege of paying an extra +$100 each way whilst having to give up one of my carry ons. As far as I can see, the charge is just straight up greed, since no one would be able to use the space beneath the seat in front of me, anyway, and carrying on my cat cause zero extra work for the crew. I'm going to have rethink my loyalty to Delta. At least with Southwest, they'll let me check two bags for no additional cost."
Pros: "GRU to ATL to LEX - all was fine. The plane from GRU to ATL was one of the nicer jets I have ridden in. The ratings above reflect my overall trip of going to Sao Paulo and returning to Lexington, even though the first part had to be re-booked on United."
Cons: "LEX to ATL to GRU did NOT happen because the LEX flights were delayed to the point of missing the ATL connection. While Delta re-booked me on United, my flight arrived 3 hours later than scheduled (so transportation plans had to change), my bag did not successfully move from the Delta flight to the United flight (and was thus delayed in getting to GRU) AND once the bag was received, 4 shirts had been stolen. While a delay/theft claim has been filed with United, this could all have been avoided if the Delta flights had been on time."
Pros: "very attentive service and remarkably tasty food in first class"
Cons: "seat was tight. not much legroom and very claustrophobic when the person in front of me reclined his seat."
Pros: "One of the male flight attendants was very nice"
Cons: "No food was provided, there was a throw up stain on my first flight to Atlanta then on my connecting flight there was crumbs on my table, my boyfriends table did not want to close so that caused discomfort to the person in front of us. Boarding time took a very very long time"
Pros: "Boarding was easy and fast"
Cons: "Seats were cramped"
Pros: "Flight crew were excellent and very helpful with my kids."
Cons: "When I arrived at my destination, my bags did not make it with me. When I called in the morning, they said they would not be out for delivery until 11:30 am and had a 6 hour delivery window. I told them to hold the bags and I would pick them up myself."
Pros: "Nothing to like.."
Cons: "Everything about the flight..."
Pros: "On time and convenience of the connection"
Cons: "Airplanes were a little bit old"
Pros: "plane was farily empty. Who doesn't like that, other than Delta, haha. Nice workers, smooth flight."
Cons: "Delta comfort was very tight. I'm 6 foot tall and my knees were hitting the chair in front of me the whole flight."
Pros: "free tequuila"
Cons: "norte americano gringo scum from hell usa terrorist pigs"
Pros: "The flight was on time and smoothl. The pilot was informative of information."
Cons: "Check point had only one person working on a holiday weekend made for an extremely long wait"
Cons: "Not real happy with getting charged 25 dollars for a bag when I am MVP with Alaska Airlines, was under impression both airlines are together."
Miss two days of my trip . Now I have to go back to AZ. Nov 14.
Delayed little by little, so there was no chance to sleep longer or go out to eat. Missed connection flight and did not offer allocation, had to request it and $12 for lunch dinner and breakfast. No transport to hotel provided so there is another $120 in uber to get there.

Pros: "The crew was nice, there was a lot of room on the plane because it was so delayed."
Cons: "It could be on time."
Pros: "The plane was very comfortable and clean. The seats were larger than those on other economy flights. In flight wi fi entertainment was great, as long as you have a device."
Cons: "The flight was delayed from 9:35 PM to 10:15. No announcements were made at the gate. We were all standing around (no seats left) and only had text or email notifications informing us. I overheard crew say it was entirely avoidable, and the fault of some crew that weren't at the right place on time"
Pros: "The flight was early."
Cons: "More leg room needed."
Pros: "It got us there"
Cons: "Beverage service was cancelled due to turbulence but I’ve been in flights worse and they kept their service Had to wait long for a ramp at a remote terminal then take 2 shuttles to terminal."
Pros: "On time professional staff"
Cons: "Old plane for this fight."
Pros: "The positive attitude. The spirit of happy."
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Delayed flight again. The American Airlines norm now. Seats are small. I ended up sharing part of mine with the man next to me. No food or snacks No entertainment. Not even a skymall magazine to keep me amused."
Pros: "American Airlines staff from checking to departation were very friendly."
Cons: "Sat behind a couple with a small dog that was very stressed and barked at anyone that walked by. It was a late flight and I could have used a few winks."
Cons: "First flight TUS to DFW was delayed by 3 hours causeing us to mist all the remaining flights. Had to scramble to find other flights DFW to LHR and LHR to DUB. We arrived at our destination 10 hours. No reason for the delay was given. Lousey service on AA."
Pros: "The fact that they re-booked without me having to contact customer service."
Cons: "The connecting flight was cancelled while boarding was in progress at the start of the journey."
Pros: "Crew was friendly. Good food options in coach."
Cons: "Boarding process (AA in general) needs improvement considering the plethora of groups. Takes too long to board. New seats are downright tiny."
Pros: "Everyone was very helpful and pleasant."
Cons: "No USB ports"
Pros: "Friendly staff."
Cons: "Typically claustrophobic conditions. No in-flight entertainment."
Pros: "On time. Nice plane."
Pros: "Considerate flight attendants. Turned lights down for evening flight, so we could get some rest."
Cons: "Flight was not on time. Time was changed a day prior with no reason explained. No in flight entertainment on this flight."

Cons: "Service was terrible. Uncomfortable and good was not at all tasty"
Cons: "see review headline above"
Pros: "Appreciated the extra legroom and food and drink service, even on a short flight. Crew seemed very friendly."
Cons: "It was way too cold. We shouldn't all be bundling up in scarves and jackets. I've noticed that European airlines manage nut to freeze the passengers, so three must be a way to adjust the standard temperature on planes a but more."
Cons: "Delays, attitudes, and fees"
Pros: "The friendly personal"
Pros: "Short but comfortable first class flight."
Pros: "Sea was decent and flight on time wot"
Cons: "Entertainment system ridiculous. Doesn't work on Android or 64 bit Windows. Useless"
Pros: "Early to navigate"
Cons: "After having my flight delayed 4 hours causing me to miss my connection, I was placed stand by on a different flight through another city so I could try and make it home on time. I was the first person in line for stand by, but the flight was full so I knew it was a long shot. Waiting at the gate, I was excited because one person didn't show and they were giving him a two minute wait time before I could board. During this wait time a woman passenger came over and said she had just been given a ticket change at the gate counter. The agent at the gate was furious because the flight was sold out and said the woman should not have received a ticket, but should have been placed on stand by. She went over and scolded the other agent for this mistake. Okay, so she should've been placed on STAND BY behind me in line. After the unprofessional arguing between the two agents, they both admitted it was a mistake and she should be second in line for stand by, BUT they did not honor this and placed her on the plane bumping me. Needless to say, I missed my connecting flight because of this and extremely inconvenienced my family and in addition had to pay an extra 75 dollars out of my pocket to keep my dogs at their kennel an extra night because I arrived home 5 hours after expected. I understand that flights end up getting delayed and the agents are doing the best they can to accommodate travelers, but admitting a mistake and not fixing it to make it right is unacceptable. I notified American Airlines of my situation and only received a form letter with enough miles to get me 1/8 of a flight. I don't even care about the miles because I don't plan to ever fly with them again, I want the money for the dog kennel I had to pay extra. I was visiting my husband who serves in the US Army causing separation from our family for long periods of time and this extra headache and expense due to the mistake of American Airlines was disheartening."
Pros: "They didn't delay our flight so that was good. My boyfriend's name also didn't show up on the reservation at the kiosk. One of the employees was happy to help and found him on the reservation."
Cons: "Very streesful flying on American- very late departures- making connections almost impossible. Sitting at gate or rarmac for 49 min- ridiculous!!!"
Pros: "Everything went well. No problems."
Pros: "Crew was great!"
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "Seats. At 6”5’ tight"
Cons: "Their baggage system is a joke. They demanded I remove my smaller carry- on so someone with a huge carry-on could use the overhead space. They ask boarders to please check Carr-on luggage for free on full flights but they don’t. United just needs to count the bags and demand the overage be checked."
Pros: "The flight attendants were super nice and very responsive"
Cons: "The food was not that good"
Pros: "Airport close to my house and It is United hub"
Cons: "Many things. Seat does not reclining which is hard for a 5 hrs flight"
Cons: "Plane was clean. Leg room was adequate for a 6 footer. Wafer cookie was good. Crew was nice."
Pros: "Nice crew."
Cons: "So cramped it’s not even funny anymore. I’m 6 foot and average build. The seats are so narrow, thin, and with such little legroom, I just can’t imagine who can comfortably fit in a United economy seat anymore."
Cons: "United has a 2 hour delay for mechanical issue. We almost missed our connection to Zurich. Our bags did not make it and we are still waiting for our luggage"
Pros: "We took off on time and landed early."
Cons: "This new Basic Economy is really awful. You have to check any carry on and you cannot pick a seat. I’m 6’3” and to be stuck in a window seat with two next to me is painful. There is absolutely no leg room if you’re over 5’10."
Cons: "Rude employees - never flying with United again."
Cons: "I didn’t not like being delayed an entire day because they had a problem with my wife’s name in the system"
Cons: "I couldn't make my trip because of work. Therefore had to cancel but Lufthansa would not provide refund so I had a wasted ticket. Not happy"
Pros: "Good crew!! Entertainment screen not as good as SAS"
Pros: "Overall my experience was about the smoothest I've had in years. Unlike those smaller/cheaper airlines. I'll never fly them again. United has brought back the pleasure of flying coast to coast."
Cons: "What I didn't like, well it now seems to be the norm, but why on earth don't the airlines provide meals to everyone onboard. It would be nice to receive a box lunch or snack, more than just a minunt size bag of trail mix. We do pay a lot of money for these flights. It's. it like the planes are leaving the gates half full anymore, so I know they're making money. Feed us more than a snack please. Ok that's my load off my chest."
Cons: "Nice quiet flight home."
Pros: "Ease and Comfort. Each terminal in our two-leg journey was modern, immaculate and simple to navigate. The flight and crew were outstanding; attentive and professional. Keep up the good work!"
Cons: "We just couldn't justify paying 16.00 so each of us could watch TV for two hours. We would have appreciated basic TV, in order for us to stay on top of the National/World news. We feel it is part of our best interest, as a country and world, to keep informed. Please allow for at least BBC to be viewed. For Free. Thank You."
Pros: "Flight crew was helpful, good communication ahead of turbulence so people could use the restroom, etc."
Cons: "I reserved an aisle seat at booking, but had a message to see gate attendent for seat assignment when i checked in. My seat was changed to middle position and there was no recourse. There are way too many people assigned group 3 and 4 , the line at pheonix and most other airports blocked the throughway for other people."
Pros: "Seats have some good cush to them"
Cons: "I specifically bought carry on luggage that meets the standards so that I would not have to go baggage claim as it would weigh heavily on my schedule. As I stood in line and noticed all of the huge "carry on" bags more than 2 I was astounded when the flight attendant said my carry on would have to be loaded with the other luggage. When I offered my rebuke she scolded me and said the luggage would be there before me....how the hell is that supposed to happen? To make matter worse the flight "attendants" stopped serving half way and when they started again I got trapped by the bathroom and did not get back to my seat in time to enjoy a beverage....not that I was offered one."
Cons: "There were several flights departing from Dallas Fort Worth and they couldn't get me on one based on weather supposedly but there's zero rain on the ground they made me pay for a hotel hundred bucks to stay in a Holiday Inn Express end it's not very quaint mind you I don't get to leave and get to my destination until 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon"
Pros: "I appreciated that the pilot was very upfront and honest with us about the delayed flights going into San Francisco."
Cons: "My flight got delayed so much that I ended up cancelling my trip."
Pros: "I'm glad I didn't get kicked off!"
Cons: "I did not like the boarding process and I had a fear of being kicked off."
Pros: "The updates I received on my phone for delays and change of gates was faster than the agents would/could announce."
Cons: "When workers were walking the aisle, it was hard to get their attention."
Pros: "The desk people were nice in Phoenix, AZ"
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 6 hours so United rebooked the whole flight, however they made no attempt to inform us before we arrived at the airport. We found out when we arrived to our gate to board. So because we did not know about the delay until the time of boarding, we missed all other flights out because it was 8pm and no more flights could take us to our final destination. We did receive a hotel voucher but we had to pay for a taxi back to the airport as well as we had to pay extra for our car that had been sitting in the airport garage overnight. It should have been $2.50, but because it sat in the garage overnight we had to pay $20."
Pros: "I loved the ground crew. Flights were delayed, but they kept us informed an expedited turn around. Also I had to change flights to get home and their phone-support was perfect. Hey, they even had a cookie on the last flight that was quite good - go figure!"
Pros: "The flight was rerouted due to the blizzard, but the staff made it very pleasant and easy to make it to my destination on time."
Pros: "The staff were very attentive to passengers and courteous."
Cons: "Nothing they did a Great job and keep a safe and exciting flight."
Cons: "We're all aware of the national "glitch" the delayed flights a couple of hours. While our plane was available for an on-time departure (UA1976) @11:35, the crew was inbound on one of the delayed flights (UA1611). United could have known as early as 7:30pm that 1611 wasn't going to make it on time to turn around the crew and would hold up 1976 as a result. Instead United didn't update passengers of 1976 until 11:55 (20 minutes after it was obvious that it was delayed and 4.5 hours after they could have known). Maybe I'm missing something, would love for someone at United to explain it."
Cons: "I don't think I will be choosing to fly with United going forward. The staff at the desks were rude and very short. I had a layover in Chicago and did not receive any notification that my flight was cancelled due to maintenance. I went to each desk to try and find an associate and no one was available to help the several individuals wondering how to get switched to a new flight. All of us were just given a phone number to call. Once I found someone thy told me that there was no seats available on any of the flights. They found one seat on a plane that was going to laguardia instead of my destination of Newark and then proceeded to tell me that my bags will still go to Newark and it was my job to make sure I filed to get them. (Same thing happened the last time I flew with United) I'm very disappointed all together with how I was treated as a customer."
Cons: "It was awful. Flight was delayed for 3 hours because united couldn't get a pilot here who was even coming from a warm weather destination so weather shouldn't have been a problem. Poor planning. There was another flight I tried to get on but they couldn't seem to locate their flight attendants and it was delayed about 6 hours."
Pros: "The actual flight itself was fine."
Cons: "The flight was delayed. I was told it was due to "weather issues", and that i'd more than likely miss my flight, and that there was nothing they could do about it. I ask the guy to print me some sort of itinerary to show my work, and it shows "mechanicall issues", not weather. Confirmed this with their website. I was told I'd probably be arriving in Seattle around 1-1:30AM. By pure chance, my flight from San Fran to Seattle was ALSO delayed (due to a late incoming flight), so I was able to board my original connecting flight. However, this still put me in a bad situation. I use public transportation, which wont be running by the time I arrive. LooKS like I'll be forking out $50+ for an Uber or Lyft home. Thanks, United. I only ever get delays when I fly United."
Cons: "My first leg of flight was delayed two hours and my connecting flight was cancelled. Waiting in line for 3 hours with almost 100 people with NO intervention. This is a joke!"
Pros: "Crowded flight efficient crew and staff pleasant and cooperative passengers."
Cons: "The days of an empty seat are gone the new normal is crowded flights."
Cons: "I spent 8 hours in the Denver airport without any compensation from the airline. At least buy me lunch."
Pros: "Like other airlines, United is charging more fees for seats to food. And the food they sell is bad. The breakfast was microwaved to horification. Why are airlines permited to give such low levels of service? Why are they allowed to charge extra fees for ordinary seats? And no complimentary entertainment. All that NOTHING" service and for very high fees.I got suckered into paying a lot extra for premium Economy. The Premium was the extra money they stole. The Economy was the new definition of bare bones."
Cons: "There was nothing to like about the flight."
Pros: "Crew professional"
Cons: "Unhappy that my luggage didn't make it"
Pros: "Everything was easy and smooth I love it and they are very nice people"
Cons: "i was a bit stressed given I had a connection and my flight out of Phoenix was about 45 mins delayed. I made the next flight by 15 mins"
Pros: "Flight times were accurate."
Cons: "As soon as we arrived to the airport, checking in was the biggest hassle. We were harassed by a guy working the ticket counter named Guilermo. He was EXTREMELY rude and continued to harass us and followed us after we checked in and we're already at the security check point. It's $25 to check a bag but if you check 2 bags their website says its $35 for both. We were charged $50 to check two bags. Even after Guilermo told both of us that they wouldn't charge us for the second bag to be checked. The guy that checked our bags was also extremely rude and clearly didn't care. Once we started boarding the flight several passengers had to check their bags at the gate because there "wasn't enough room on the plane". Not really sure how this was fair since we had just paid $50 to check two bags and were lied to about it when several people just checked their bags for free. We chose to fly with United because of the good deals they have on flights but after our experience I would MUCH rather pay more money and have a lot better customer service. We had such a horrible experience it almost ruined our first day of our week long trip. I'm. It really sure if it's obvious to the employees of United but traveling for most people is a very special occasion. This occasion happen to be a very special one to us as it was a family vacation and seeing family we haven't seen in years. The poor attitudes and rude demeanor from the United staff is all we could think about even after we reached our destination."
Pros: "Direct flight."
Cons: "Luggage got stuck in plane, 1 1/2 hour wait at carrousel! Newark sucks to get out, took two atemps with 2 GPS and 2 people trying to decifer NJ's crappy road signs!"
Pros: "The friendly and comfortable atmosphere!"
Cons: "PHX is a large airport, and my emailed ticket said Brussles Airlines, Terminal 4. First off, Brussles Airlines is not a carrier at PHX, and secondly no one knew that United was their partner. There was no information provided to me to go to United, which was in Terminal 2. After making a phone call to Brussles Airlines, I ended up getting to the check in gate ten minutes after boarding started. It was a lovely rest of the trip after that though! But please include partner information im the email next time!"
Cons: "Super annoying toung boy who kicked my seat and slammed the tray table al ost the entire flight...obviously not United's fault."
Cons: "Terrible experience in onboarding.. Later on i was made to sit in flight for 5 hours at mumbai airport"
Pros: "I got a super cheap fare for this short flight from PHX to LAX. Staff was courteous and the flight went smoothly from start to finish."
Cons: "Was unable to figure out the free entertainment offered. Was a short flight so I didn't really worry about it."
Pros: "The only positive was that the seat next to me was empty so I had a little more room."
Cons: "Flight attendants were unpleasant and plane was very dirty. My seat also felt sticky."
Pros: "Never again with United small seat dirty bathroom only 2 restroom for 300 ppl"
Pros: "The price Phoenix to LA and back for around $77"
Cons: "I got the shitty set by the exit door that didn't recline no big deal on such a short trip"
Pros: "Can't beat the ease of flying especially considering how quick arriving into Los Angeles verses driving"
Cons: "Delays due to presidential speeches"
Late departure. Waited on tarmac for over 20 minutes upon arrival. ZERO beverage service. Three thumbs down.
I was arrived airport before one hour 10min. Before arriving airport online checking had error… However they not allowed check in since im was not in airport 2hours before departure……. I have no idea about two hours policy….. And they not explain clearly also i asked airline workers name but they wont tell me They hide their name card…. Super bad experience No refund no explained…… I lost money super bad
Too many announcements. There was no food or entertainment but there was no n/a option
Pros: "Great prices!"
Cons: "Spread people out before boarding"
Pros: "Average, I feel sorry for those who weigh more than 150 and are over 6' with long legs. But this is Industry wide. Greed?"
Cons: "Just fine"
Pros: "The Flight crew did a good job and the price for the flight was good"
Cons: "The flight to phoenix was 2 hours late due to issues getting the plane to Cincinnati it happens no big deal. However the flight coming back from Phoenix to Cincinnati took off on time and landed early but when we landed it took over an hour to get our bags initially there was a storm that held them up but after the storm other flights were getting there bags but not frontier and when we finally for a representative she was very rude and provided no answers as to what the problem was she just said the ramp is closed and stormed off. I will be contacting the cooperate office regarding this."
Pros: "Boarding was good"
Cons: "How do you board a multi-million dollar aircraft, yet still find yourself in an old western tv show. Easy, fly Frontier Airlines. The seats were like riding on an old horse buggy. Hard and unforgiving. The only positive was I didn’t get any slivers in my butt. No complimentary anything. Even the old settlers from the past could rustle up something simple to eat and drink, but not on Frontier. They need to get up to speed in this department, other airlines are starting to give drinks and snacks again for the long wagon ride in front of them."
Cons: "The total cost of the flight is just a fraction of what you’ll pay. The nickel and dime you for everything. $38 for a carrying on, same for a checked bag. It was a quick trip and thought a back pack would be okay to carry on.... nope that’s $38, if you pay ahead of time. They charge more at the gate. When you check in they try to get you to pay anywhere from $9 to $21 to pick a seat. Seats don’t recline either. Flight was also late. You’re better off paying the full fare on another flight than flying Frontier. Never again."
Pros: "Pretty much nothing. I'M SORRY AS IT WAS MY FIRST TIME AND I have to tell you that I m usually pretty low maintenance....but damn ....this was was brutal! Price was was great... but not worth the experience."
Cons: "Seat comfort, cattle care of crew, no movie, no real food....you name it."
Pros: "The 1st 3 rows recline and have a little extra space which is nice for a toddler in a carseat! Flight attendants were very nice."
Cons: "Most disorganized bag check i have ever seen/experienced! We were in line for over an hour and a half just to get moved to different lines 4 times, due to them being so overwhelmed at 6am! We were 2 people away from checking in our luggage when they told our whole line to get in the back of another completely full line so they could check in just Chicago flights. We had waited for over 30 minutes to get up to the spot we were at. Then the line that they physically took us to stand in and waited for another 15 minutes in they shut down and made a "help" line. We were then escorted to the back of another out the door end of the line to wait another 30 minutes just to be moved again to finally a shorter line because they noticed that most of us moved around multiple times were going to now miss our flights. We were then rushed to the security (thank God TIA had their act together and handled a ton of people in a very short amount of time) and were told to hurry to our gate. Frontier staff "double checked" that our planes gate was still the gate on our ticket...jusy to find they had moved us to another gate. Through this whole issue, employees made the comments that we should arrive 2 hours prior to our flight when we were rushing through and explaining we kept getting put/moved into the back of different long lines to check in our bags and get to our gate. We were there 2.5 hours early!!! Thank goodness the person that was supposed to be working the gate desk for boarding didn't show up to work (according to the gentleman that showed up with a radio calling for any help from available staff 10 minutes after we were supposed to board) otherwise we might have not made our flight! Flight was supposed to board at 07:35 am, we did not board until 08:10 am and we were supposed to leave at 08:10 am. Our plane finally took off at 09:50 am...after multiple times having our whole plane's occupants were counted multiple times because the gal who took our tickets got a different number than the flight attendants, and all of our tickets checked multiple times (I do appreciate the safety checks but this was ridiculous with the flight attendants finally stating that their numbers were correct and that policy was to go by their numbers and not the other gals numbers!) The flight attendants were even completely annoyed! Needless to say...i will not be spending any more time or money with frontier airways!!!"
Pros: "The other passengers were very helpful"
Cons: "Small seats that don't recline. Rude stewardesses. With a connecting flight leaving on time is a factor in my experience. My flight did not leave on time - was an hour delayed."
Pros: "Like low airfare."
Cons: "Don't like having to pay for every little thing, like carry-ons, sodas + snacks on trip, and seating. Feel nickel + dimed to death, negating savings."
Cons: "11 hour delay .....Flight 740 From phx to den departure @6 am had a mechanical. First it was going to be delayed until 10 am them 11 am then 4 pm then 530 pm .it left at 6 pm . It got in at 9 pm by the time we got the car and got to out friend home it would have been close to 11 . We would have been up for 20 hours ( got up at 3 am to get there for a 6 am flight . We were going to a business meeting in demver in the morning in the afternoon a 70 th birthday lunch for my best friend. This trip was planned for months . We live in phx after it was clear we had missed both events we went back home @5 We ended up paying for a supper shuttle and a rent a car in Denver . We paid all that money To go noware the customer service woman there , was uncaring to everyone on board we were just on our own . I am heartbroken we missed the party ."
Pros: "The trip was excellent, the flight boarded and took off on time, and we arrived early! Great flight"
Cons: "The seats are not angled to fit the figure of a person. The back of the seat leans back and the head of the seat is perfectly straight up. It meets at a point where that does not line up with the persons body height depending on the person. If you just leave it at one angle of give it the potential to lean back just enough, People will be that much more comfortable. I wasn't the only person who mentioned this on my flight, in fact I spoke with 3 people and overheard others complaints as well. One angle or at least a centimeter of space to lean back...I don't think it will mess with people behind them since there's no tv or entertainment and I think it will continue to bring more people into frontier."
Cons: "Crew not that friendly. When boarding first flight attendant seemed annoyed that I asked her about my seat. ** there is a fee for about everything on frontier. I would rather pay additional for the tickets on other airlines because the process to check in luggage, get to the gate, and have the Benicia of not being charged for every little thing is WORTH IT. You end up paying more to fly frontier by the time you are done paying for the extras. I prefer the one stop shop. Convenient and no drama."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 4 times. Over 6 hours later, with no explanation. Causing me to pay for a hotel room that I didn't stay in. Miss a meeting for myou business. Costing me monry. Horrible."
Pros: "Low fares"
Cons: "The almost 1-1/2 wait to check in luggage. I realize they say come 2 hours prior, but didn't anticipate that I would spend the bulk of the time checking I. Bags. There should be 2 separate check in"s, one for. Aha and one for people buying tickets."
Pros: "I was almost late and they did everything they could to help me get to my destination including running my drivers license to me, as I was realizing at the security check that I had lost it. Then the crew was second to none and far better than other larger airlines. I'm sure most people know through word of mouth or their own experiences that they are sometimes spread too thin to cater to the customer anymore and this, however, was a fresh change of pace. I rarely take the time to fill reviews out but felt obligated in this case to spread the word through my gratitude. I had recently been laid off and they made sure I got on my flight for a job opportunity I needed. I thought the best part was the $59 ticket with tax but you can't quantify real costumer service like that. Thank you again to everyone at Frontier Airlines!"
Pros: "Crew was friendly. Was pleasantly surprised I didn't have to pay for the air we breathed."
Cons: "Must pay for everything: checked bags, carry-on (spoiler alert - carry-on is more expensive than checked bags), beverage service (water is the only complementary option), seat selection (I'm not clear what happens if you don't pay to choose a seat - do they pick one for you? Mysteriously, the rates to pick seats were higher for outbound flights than they were for the return flight). My impression was that I would have had to pay for a boarding pass if I didn't print one ahead of time. Total cost with all fees was definitely not the cheapest route - plan on at least $150 additional fees to add to your round trip ticket cost. I tried to get smart on my return, so I downloaded the Frontier app to my phone only to get a dagger-stare from TSA going through security because I had to show them my boarding pass on my phone instead of having a paper pass they could scribble on."
Pros: "I really did not feel any more crowded or uncomfortable than any other airplane Ive been on. I sort of like that the tray tables are the size of a large cell phone- less bulky than regular tray tables."
Cons: "The crew wasn't bad, just seemed unhappy to be there. There was some confusion with which gate we should be at, changed us three times before settling on the original gate. Boarding was no problem but then we waited without taking off for over 45 minutes. The pilot came over the intercom and informed us that he had no idea why we were delayed to take off, but that he would "find shortcuts" to get us there on time. The biggest gripe that we have is once we landed and went to baggage, several of us waited for golf clubs for close to an hour before a worker realized "they forgot" to turn on the button to allow oversized items to come out. Then she said "sorry I was busy with ticketing and Frontier doesn't have a baggage attendant". I just dont think the extra savings was quite worth the frustration."
Pros: "I arrived to my destinations on time....that is all."
Cons: "The whole negative experience started with having to pay for my carry on. Yes, this was my fault for not knowing or expecting the extra $45 each way for my carry on. Water was not given during the three hour flight - you pay for all refreshments! The planes feel like a budget experience with cheap fold down trays and arm rests that slam down making lots of noise, and there is very little foom under the seat to put a small bag. My same small back pack that fits under other airlines seats wasn't even close to going under forcing me to straddle for the the entire flight. I will NOT use Frontier again. The airline feels like Alligeant that costs much less. I'll stick with Southwest!"
Cons: "It's a sham to offer an "inexpensive" ticket price, when that payment only ALLOWS you to pay additionally for your seat! checked luggage! carry-on luggage! any and all food and drink on the plane! The trip ended up costing us twice the ticket price. When we landed in Phoenix it took 45 minutes to get our luggage because they were short on workers, so the same people took our luggage off the plane, then loaded the next flight's luggage on the plane while letting ours sit in the rain, before bringing us the off-loaded now wet luggage. Flight attendants barely do anything! Mostly they stand - or sit - around in the back talking and laughing amongst themselves. Never again!"
Pros: "I got where I was going without dying. That's the only positive thing about my Frontier experience."
Cons: "What do you call flight attendants who won't look at you or acknowledge you? Is it fair to call them rude if you had no interaction with them at all in your 3.5 hour flight? Since they wouldn't look at me, there was no option to even buy overpriced food or drink from them. The guy sitting next to me had to yell to get their attention. The lady was so annoyed that he asked for water. I've never seen "service" like this in my life. Terrible service. Have to pay for carry-ons but they don't tell you that during booking. Seats don't recline. Flight attendants were frumpy and dirty looking. No entertainment options (I don't know why they ask us to rate it.) No food or drink without screaming and paying an arm and a leg. Speaking of arms and legs, there is nowhere to put yours. My knees were in the seat in front of me. The guy I was sitting next to was bigger than me but not fat at all. He was leaned against the wall and still spilling into my seat. His shoulder was against mine, his arm was on mine, and his legs were too wide to fit in front of his seat so he took up at least a quarter of my leg room. The lady on the other side had an infant in her lap and did the same, except she was hanging out into the aisle. I'm 5'8" and weigh 135 pounds. When I was boarding the plane I was one of the last people on. Coming down the aisle, I hit EVERYONE who washould unlucky enough to have an aisle seat. There was absolutely no room to walk. The miniscule tray tables won't stay up. They didn't just fall down on take off or landing. The one on the back of my seat fell down approximately every 2 minutes. The flight attendant literally yelled at the person behind me because she "wouldn't put her tray table up" for landing even though the problem was mechanical not an unwillingness to follow the rules. I've never seen anything like this. I will never fly this airline again."
Pros: "I don't know we missed the flight"
Cons: "....we had trouble getting our tickets printed with the Kiosk and no one would help they told us to get in line, which was going so slow by the time we were serviced we were 5 minutes late to get our baggage on, they said we could board but not baggage, Our options were to get a flight the next day which has to go to Denver first leaving Phoenix at 5 or so am and getting to Milw around 9 pm so as of right now, we are in a motel waiting for 5 am flight tomorrow. We were not alone 4 others also missed the flight."
Pros: "I didn't like anything except for getting to my destination in one piece."
Cons: "I will never fly Frontier again. The stewardess on the first leg of the trip was very rude to the people seated in front of me. They were unorganized and they nickel and dime you to death. who makes you pay for your seat? Frontier. They emailed me five thousand emails about checking in after I checked in. They want to charge you three dollars for a soda. It is not customer service. Having a survey for customer happiness is stupid when they aren't working to make the customer happy. It has become evident that airlines do not care about their customers anymore. I mean if you are going to make us pay for everything then at least be polite. And on the return flight we had to sit for a half hour and wait while they moved another plane that was occupying out gate."
Pros: "Both flights felt like there wasn't a sense of urgency. Although my flights went smoothly personally, others fell victim to the extra fees for not checking in a bag ahead of time. The customer service when checking into the flight to Detroit was appalling, however. The reps made us check in at a certain time and then disappeared when that time came, leaving a brand new employee to himself and I'm assuming a manager with his arms crossed. Not engaging his line, letting them know he'd be right with them. Customers frustrated began cutting the line and it's understandable, getting charged up to three times as one put it for the same bag. All that aside, I liked that I could pick my seat and naturally chose the front of the plane. The crew on way home was amazing! Very friendly and kind hearted."
Pros: "Nothing other than getting from Phoenix to Atlanta"
Cons: "The baggage check in process at Phoenix is a complete joke. What is the point of prepaying for baggage on line if you still have to stand in line for over half an hour while you watch other passengers drop their jaws when they find out how much checking a bag costs, have the agents explaining the process and the price, fumbling for credit cards, processing the payments, etc, then, when you finally get to your turn, you are out of there in 30 seconds. There should be at lease one agent at all times who is dedicated to serving the passengers who do not need to pay. They should be in and out, not standing in line, when there is no payment to process. Then there is the total joke of the refreshments sales process on board the flight. It's not even worth going into that since I will never board another Frontier flight."
Cons: "ticketing staff didnt seem like she wanted to work, seats were uncomfortable, time management was poor"
Cons: "Three days before christmas on 12-22-16, Frontier cancelled our flight last minute from Phoenix to Cincinnati. I was traveling with two small children. The only option we had to get home was to pay $2200 for 3 one-way Delta tickets. Now I'm in the process of trying to get $1800 dollars back. Frontier initially told me those who bought tickets from another airline could get $600 for every ticket purchased. I have submitted everything requested and now am receiving emails that there is no guarantee I will be reimbursed. Frontier better do what is right and reputable. Customers don't deserve to be treated this way."
Cons: "How about a glass of water, unreal you can't get anything to drink."
Cons: "In AZ visiting flare up heath issue cause concern for me to want to wait a few days to travel, I called in advance to change flight 1.) Couldn't get an American worker on the phone, workers are in the Phillipines! 2.) The rep stated a doctors note was necessary and I would pay $99 but if I couldn't provide a doctor's note then it then was $99 plus any amount over the cost of ticket. 3.) Loss over $350 on the trip departure flight from DTW to PHX. 4.) Charged baggage fee and never went on a flight"
Pros: "Attendants were helpful and friendly."
Cons: "I did not like the surprise that I had to pay ANY fee, much less such a high fee, for a carry on and luggage. Therefore, what I thought was an incentive to fly Frontier because I felt as though I was getting a great deal, became Just another money-grabbing corporation who I felt was insincere upfront about the added charges. This made My flight even more than I would have paid total for a larger and more well-known carrier. Therefore, no more incentive To use Frontier.... Disappointed... In addition, the tray table was so small it was virtually useless. At least the service Was good....Cokes should not really be at a cost, since the fare was higher than a larger carrier. Hmmmm....."
Pros: "The crew was nice, flight on time and fine."
Cons: "I don't like the fact that you do not recycle, yet you provide goods that are just placed in landfills and will take hundreds of years to decompose. The airports recycle, is it that difficult to make that happen for Frontier? The hundreds of plastic cups, plastic bottles, cans, etc. etc. is mind blowing and is something I pay attention to. I actually took my item back to the airport instead of giving to the crew at the end so I could place the item in the recycle bin in the airport after asking your crew if there was recycling. They said there was no recycling. I also picked up a plastic bottle from another seat on the way out to help clean up since I knew you guys would throw it out anyway. Thanks for considering being more sustainable, eco-friendly, and for thinking about my comment seriously to minimize your airplane's environmental impact. I will pay attention and voice my concerns elsewhere as well - recycling shouldn't have to be done by the consumer, the businesses need to step up and make it happen."
Pros: "My initial flight from Denver to Phoenix was a hour late, but lets talk about the way home.... Flight got in OK and then we waited 45 minutes for a gate to open. Could you park us at another gate? That would be too simple. When we parked we waited another 20 minutes while they put a jet way in place. Now answer this... the other plane just left that spot, so what happened to the jet way from that plane? Do they completely take it away or just fold it up? Fold it up I bet , so it was in place just had to be opened up. I guess they couldn't find anyone to do that. I know this sounds petty, but I have never taken a Frontier flight that went smoothly. Thank God I haven't had to take many. And it's not as cheap as it looks by the time they get you for bags and a charge for your seat. I ALREADY PAID FOR MY SEAT, WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT. Bye Bye Frontier, I'll pay more for the service issues."
Pros: "Quick, organized check in"
Cons: "TINY seats..... minimal legroom...... stationary seat backs"
Cons: "The highway to the airport in Phoenix was shut down due to a murder on the highway. I took an alternate route. Then the construction at the airport and the signage was terrible. I stood in line curbside to check my bag at what I thought was frontier but it was delta. By the time I got to the frontier desk, they closed the flight. They said they could get me on the flight but not my bag. My bag had my sales materials in it. It had to go with me. I ended up on a United Flight. Cancelled Frontier and they charged me 99.00 to cancel!!! And I had trip protection but it does not cover incidents like this! UGH! It was my first experience with Frontier. I did not know they were fee heavy. I will not fly them again."
Pros: "Service is nonexistent. Website doesn't work. Extra Charges for NOT using the website are insane. Food and beverages are nonexistent. Service is among the worst in the world. Seats aren't much more comfortable than folding chairs would be. Extra charges for absolutely every little thing ( which are normally free on every other airline ) make travel an annoying nuisance. Even carryon bags are charged --- and cost more than checked bags. It's insane."
Cons: "Service is nonexistent. Website doesn't work. Extra Charges for NOT using the website are insane. Food and beverages are nonexistent. Service is among the worst in the world. Even carryon bags are charged --- and cost more than checked bags. It's insane."
Pros: "After my awful experience there is not ONE positive thing I could say about Frontier."
Cons: "You cannot rely on Frontier to get you where you need to go. I spoke to three people who all said different things. My flight delayed was controllable, then Carolyn said I qualified for a refund since my flight was over three hours delayed, then Jessica said my flight was delayed from uncontrollable circumstances, that I did not qualify for a refund and that she would give me a voucher. When I asked Jessica to speak to her boss she would not let me. She was so nasty on the phone I have never been treated with such disrespect. Finally after being on hold for about 15 minutes Jessica decided she was "allowed" to give me a full refund! I bought same day tickets on Southwest Airlines and I actually SAVED MONEY!!!!!!!!! I bought my Frontier tickets in June! The flight that kept getting delayed ended up being CANCELLED!!!! I am so glad I bought same day tickets with Southwest! Southwest was phenomenal! Free wifi, friendly staff, snack and drinks! LOVE SOUTHWEST! Frontier is fraud plain and simple! They do not care about costumers or where they need to get to, they just care about keeping your money!"
Pros: "I sat in the front of the plane with a lot of leg room etc. so I don't have much to complain about, but everything was amazing."
Cons: "No free condiments/drinks like American Airlines. Seats are uncomfortable after long flights no matter where you sit."
Pros: "The actual flight itself was smooth and as expected."
Cons: "Everything else but the actual on air time itself was awful. At ORD the lines were short/fast but the agent was a little rude, it was my first time flying Frontier so I just had a few questions and she made me feel like I was annoying her or wasting her time. At the gate the boarding process was as expected, except I think the gate agent could have done a bit better crowd control, it was really cumbersome to get across the multitudes of people with unassigned seats or later zones that were clogging up the entrance just standing there. The flight was smooth. Upon arrival at PHX luggage took upwards of 30+ minutes to arrive and some passengers had to wait much longer. My luggage arrived damaged. I filed a report at the Frontier desk but their response was to ask me to leave my broken luggage there, take my items in clear trash bag and wait for a voucher. How am I supposed to take my items to a hotel for business meetings in a trash bag? That's not an acceptable solution to a problem I did not create, baggage handlers did it. When I got to the hotel I realized that the items I had on the front pocket of my luggage were tampered with and one item was missing. I was told I could go spend the money to replace my luggage and bring them back the receipt, and then leave them the broken luggage cause and I quote "you can't have it all". What does that even mean? I can't have MY luggage? That I brought in perfect condition and the baggage handler broke? Come on. They did not explain if they would offer a refund immediately upon receiving my receipt, it was all very rushed and vague and I was going to miss my transport so I had to leave. They did not give me a claim number or a number to call back at. Nothing. I wasn't even being rude or loud or annoyed like some customers get when these things arise. I understood perfectly that it was an accident and these things happen, but I still deserved a proper response and decent treatment, since I just paid $45 for a checked bag only to have it be broken. On the day of my departure from PHX I arrived at the airport on time, 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier from my departure. I stood in line at Frontier for an entire hour to check in my luggage even though I had checked in online and already paid my fee. I asked if there was a place for people who already were checked in and a rude airport staff member told me to just "get back in line". After waiting in line for that long suddenly the desk agent yells to all the passangers from a flight to Denver to move up to the front of the line, so about 100 or more people move ahead of me despite the vast majority of them having arrived late. I understand their flight was leaving earlier but what about our flight? How is it reasonable or fair to reward people for being late and make people who have been dutifully and calmly waiting in line FOR AN HOUR standing with heavy bags wait even longer? The whole thing was just terrible!"
Pros: "The only person who seemed to like his job was the gentleman checking in our bag (which unfortunately costs 40 dollars instead of the expected 30. Difference being we didnt check in online)...."
Cons: "..... EVERYONE else, though, were debbie downers - no smile, no happy attitude, no good signs of a positive trip. Asked one of the flight attendants for water so my significant other could take her prescription pills and she nodded her head in a way that it was too much trouble for her to do. Oh, and we never seen that water. Besides that, a child behind my other's seat constantly kicked the tray up and down attached to it, which made it IMPOSSIBLE to get any sleep. Granted, this is probably a parenting issue, its staff responsibility to recognize issues and at least try to resolve them. They charge per general/economy seating making the ticket price untrue in value so expect to pay a MINIMUM 20 dollars more than you bargained for. Also, as every other airline I have flown with included a free carry on bag during travel, fronteir did not - they choose to charge their customers more for a carry on than the 50 pound checked in bag. Better to go with AA or Delta or United, etc. Pay the extra dollar because in the end your actaullt saving in comparison to Frontier. Something is just totally off about this airline in general and I WILL NEVER fly with them again"
Pros: "Honestly at first I liked how it appeared to be a newer plane with updated seats but then..."
Cons: "I saw those updated seats and the joke of a tray table that was provided wouldn't even hold my iPad. The staff was apparently new because they couldn't get through one intercom conversation without fumbling through it and when a customer asked how long the flight was the flight attendant didn't know and another passenger had to answer. We were delayed by 2 hours and all because the intercom phone was broken. I know it's a safety hazard but it just wasn't a smooth professional staff that you typically see. One of the three flight attendants was tenure but all I saw was the new girl fumble through everything. I'm hoping she was new...also, we are delayed two hours sitting on the plane, so I know people will give bad reviews about that but there's nothing you can control regarding our safety. It is what it is, I just couldn't stop shaking my head everything they spoke on the intercom how bad they were on it."
Cons: "I felt duped and deceived by the slimy nature of your airline not being upfront with its prices. $13 dollars to choose a seat??!? 40 FREAKING dollars just to WALK on the plane with my carry-on?? I thought Fronteir would be like other airlines but no, I had to pay $53 TWICE just to walk on the plane for my round trip flight. If my flight is going to be $106 more than what I paid on the ticket, then tell me upfront so I can know not to fly with you guys. And after all of that, being tricked into paying more than HALF of my ticket price in stupid hidden fees, your plane was cramped and austere, lacking the padded chairs, ample legroom, normal-sized tray tables, and conplimentary beverages available on countless other airlines. So I basically paid $100 extra for a cramped and uncomfortable flight. I was disappointed in your airline as a whole and will never be flying with Fronteir again."
Cons: "The flight price looked great and like I was saving money, I was very wrong. By the time that I was charged to select my seat, pay for my one bag, and pay for a soda on the flight, I could have flown a different airline and saved money. The flight was delayed both ways. The way home was even worse. It was delayed 4 hours because of three different issues and we had to change plans. The crew was extremely rude to people who were inquiring about the delays. I will never, ever fly this airline again..."
Pros: "Even after a 2 hour delay on a 7am flight, no effort was made to board the plane any faster. Staff appeared uninterested in customers"
Cons: "Frontier is not a customer friendly company!!"
Pros: "This was my first flight on Frontier and didn't know what to expect. When my iPhone boarding pass wouldn't work at security I was sent to the Frontier counter and they helped me instantly. The Phoenix boarding lounge was NOT a good introduction with holes and rips in the seats and a "sofa" that rocked everyone on it whenever someone moved.. The gate attendant however was great - and funny. The plane was VERY nice and made up for the lounge plus we made it to Colorado Springs 20 minutes early! The price ($56 including fees and taxes) means I'll be looking at Frontier in the future."
Pros: "The stewards were polite on the plane."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 7 hours for maintenance. The passengers were packed like sardines into seats with so little legroom that even my 5'5 frame had my knees against the seat in front of me, the seats don't lean back and there's not even room to put your head down on the 2×3 tray which is only there for looks because it couldn't possibly be used to actually hold anything. Two screaming toddlers rounded out the worst flight I've ever been on. I would never recommend frontier airlines, you really do get what you pay for."
Pros: "I chose Frontier because of their air fares. Seemed like a great deal at first. Then I realized we had to pay for seats and for luggage, checked or carry-on."
Cons: "Rude and ineffective check-in staff, especially in Phoenix. Seats are unmovable, uncomfortable and we had to pay for this!? Frontier makes Allegiant look good."
Pros: "Crew was great flight was good"
Cons: "When I booked the ticket it was 317. When I went to check in on the website it told me I could only bring a carry on if it fit under seat and had to pay for overhead storage which was MORE expensive than checking in belly of plane which is what I had to do because I had a Small what used to be a carry on bag...THEN I went to pick a seat and I could ONLY pick a seat I HAD to pay for!....so my "economy" fare cost me an extra 77.00 ONE WAY!....I will not be flying your airline again. Had I know about the MANYextra expenses You really should be more upfront and transparent with the ACTUAL fees to fly Frontier"
Cons: "Seriously, it was a horrible experience. Everyone complains that they're misleading with the cost, but it really just adds up to what you pay on other lines, maybe slightly less still. BUT, so not worth it. Spend the extra money elsewhere. Terrible customer service. Seriously, there were 3 people that were nice, everyone else was flat out rude. Both on the phone and in person. And I was nice to them even though I was really upset, which was hard to do. Our first flight was delayed 8 hours for maintenance. We got a $10 food voucher and a $100 flight voucher. Not the best compensation considering the duration of our time in the airport and the cost of food, plus the fact that our flight was more than $100. We couldn't use the flight voucher on our return flight because it was already booked (even though a supervisor prior to that said we could), so that was worthless since I have no interest in flying with them ever again. I found out later that the flight voucher can at least be used for baggage and seat selection on the return flight, which no one mentioned even when I specifically asked multiple people (including a different supervisor) what it could be used for. But that didn't help me out either since... the flight back was flat out cancelled 40 mins before it was due to leave because they didn't have a crew to fly it due to weather issues elsewhere. The next flight they could get us on was two days later or 2 weeks later... We got a refund, but of course since it was such short notice then booking on another airline was far more expensive and they don't make up the difference. It seemed like Frontier runs things so tight that they don't have any backup plans for what I would assume are not wholly uncommon things, like maintenance and weather issues. And, as other people have pointed out, they were the tiniest seats I have ever seen. All I could think once we got on the plane was, "Thank God I'm not fatter or taller and thank God we weren't stuck on the plane itself!""
Pros: "Nitrogen/oxygen is free to breathe."
Cons: "if you can stuff everything in your one allotted carry on bag (that’s smaller than other airlines) then great! Otherwise be prepared to pay for everything. Taking your normal sized carry on? Pay. Luggage? Pay. Assigned seat? Pay. Food and drink? Pay. Reclining seat? Forget it. Tray table for food or drink? Keep dreaming. Leg room? Hahahaha! No. In flight entertainment? Entertain yourself. When all is said and done, fly a different airline if you want any of the above."
Pros: "Not much."
Cons: "First and LAST time flying Spirit. Once I had to pay the fee for having a carry on bag, the price came out closer to one of the airlines I should have used instead. The website address didn't even work from my phone, so I had to pay the $65 gate fee for the carry on. The seats weren't comfortable, didn't recline, no cushioning. No inflight entertainment of any kind. During the flight, I got up and went to the front to use the bathroom (which I KNEW was empty) and the staff directed me to use the ones in back. Why? And they never reduced the cabin pressure on the descent! The cabin was still completely pressurized for the higher altitudes well after we touched down. This feels like such an amateur mistake that simply isn't acceptable."
Cons: "The flight was diverted and I missed my connecting flight. Spirit’s seats are uncomfortable."
Cons: "They could have communicated 100 times better after the flight was turned around in-flight and they held us captive at the gate for three hours and then delayed the flight for twelve hours."
Cons: "Being charged double for check in bags was a waste of money, and given no explanation on why our flight was delayed is ridiculous."
Pros: "Hard to name"
Cons: "almost everything. Very uncomfortable seats! Especially, was shocked by not giving me even water during long flight unless I pay money"
Pros: "I like that Spirit likes to board fast."
Cons: "Seats with no space or recliner"
Cons: "That the prices are quoted slightly below market rate is a bait and switch tactic. There was zero baggage allowance for an international flight (never heard of this) and even carry one is charged at $55 to $65! If you pay online it is $10 less but at the cost of surrendering a lot of your personal information to be spammed ad infinitum. I paid my $55 at the airport because I wa forced to, but to my surprise I wa charged 3 times for a total cost of $165!!! All of the flights were delayed! The chairs don't recline - I gusess that too requires extra fee. You are better up paying $50 or $100 extra for a better experience, comfort, respect by any of the major carriers."
Cons: "Know that you will pay $56+ at the counter for your carry-on. A small, backpack or smaller, bag is free."
Pros: "The passengers around us were friendly."
Cons: "There wasn't enough leg room. Every time we turned around we were charged extra. Our just under $400.00 dollar flights ended up costing us just under $700.00 by the time we were done compared a different airline we were going to take. Someone suggested to take Spirit because they were less. The other airline flight would have cost us a little over $500.00 total. that is a huge difference and we would have had bigger seats and leg room and NO charge for water. All the people around us were complaining about all the charges even saying we will probably get charged to get off the plane."
Cons: "First of all, when we booked, we didn't realize the crazy baggage fees, lack of snacks / on board entertainment, etc. (We are not frequent fliers and should have researched more thoroughly). When we arrived at the airport around 11pm for our 12:55am flight ..... Found out it was cancelled. They offered a $50 voucher. Stood in line for an hour trying to figure out what we were going to do. Never flying spirit again."
Cons: "TERRIBLE SERVICE!! The flight was delayed @ Phoenix. Flight was supposed to leave at 12 55 am and it finally departed until 2:23 am. The representatives @ Phoenix told us we wouldn't have ANY issues with our connecting flight to FLL as they would use the same aircraft When we landed Dallas, they told us our flight to FLL was waiting for us which was a complete LIE. The representatives at Dallas were disengaged and didn't seem to look for options to get us out of there,. Finally, a representative came and told us we had 2 options: OPTION 1: Stay in Dallas 31 HOURS!! and take the next flight to FLL (no hotel arrangements were offered) or take the next flight to Orlando and move ground to FLL. Very disappointed with your service. NEVER FLYING ON SPIRIT AGAIN"
Cons: "I know Spirit offers low fares and in return you pay for everything else, seats, carry-on bags, boarding passes (if you don't print yourself), drinks, etc. In knowing this I did my due diligence before this flight to make sure I wasn't going to be charged for things like the size of my purse (I measured it), etc. Upon check in for this flight, I was informed that I owed $30 because my checked bag was 43 lbs and Spirit has a weight limit of 40 lbs. The other customers in line were just as shocked. To me, the standard is 50 lbs. With that being said, in my research on Spirits website this was not clear. I think this sort of fee should be much more prominent. I am a "prepar-er" if you will and for me to not know this charge was coming tells me Spirit most likely makes a lot of money off of passengers regularly having to pay this unexpected fee at check in. The ticketing agent told me it happens daily after I asked him. This feels a bit like a scam, in my opinion. Spirit will say "It's on our website" and I'm sure it is but again, I don't feel like this charge for a weight that's standard is 50 lbs is clearly called out to passengers. I'm fine with no frills, I'm not fine with unexpected charges that I feel are under the radar until the 11th hour when you have no choice but to pay or repack. Uncool, spirit."
Cons: "No room no service horrible everything"
Pros: "Flight attendants were very nice. Airplane was clean and the seats were comfortable, even had lower back support."
Cons: "My 96 year old mother's Spirit 342 flight from Phoenix to Minneapolis on Feb 2, 2017 was delayed. Things happen and that's life. However, after hearing from my sister in Minneapolis her flight was delayed I attempted to call Spirit Airlines to get the rescheduled information. I tried many, many times and was not able to speak with a Spirit customer service agent. In fact, there was no option on the Spirit phone message to press a number to speak with an agent. I ended up calling the Phoenix Skyharbor Security who sent an employee over to Terminal 2, Gate 2 to look for my mother. She was not found after checking Gate 2 and several other gates. The scheduled 3:07pm departure was rescheduled to depart at 5:30pm which I found out around 7:00 pm Phoenix time. This was a frightening experience for our family given my mother's age of 96 years. Fortunately, my mother was OK. She stated she and everyone else stood in line at the Spirit counter for 1 1/2 hours waiting for departure information. There was an agent at the counter but he/she did not provide any departure information let alone the reason(s) for the delayed flight. It would have been helpful to everyone held up by the delay to have been given an honest reason for the delay. It seems reasonable that Spirit would at least offer a phone number to speak with an agent who could provide information. (The Spirit website indicated Flight 342 was rescheduled to the next morning (Feb 3) with a departure of 8:00 am. This incorrect information complicated the whole situation). We will never put my mother on another Spirit flight and will think very carefully about using Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "Flight left on time and arrived 30 minutes early No waiting for a gate to open"
Cons: "Seating pitch is too narrow for a tall person. I was limping as I got off because I could not extend my legs."
Cons: "The flight was delayed two hours, then without notice they moved the fight up in time. It was extreamly difficult to rebook a new flight, which was on a differently airline."
Cons: "The seats were much more confined than flight to phoenix, I asked if I could occupy empty seats behind me, I was told no by flight attendant, medical purposes, yet one of them occupied during flight. I was very uncomfortable and in physical pain afterwatd, I will pay more $$ next time for extra room in other airline. I was also charged twice for reserving carry on luggage. Paying extra to eliminate these factors will be worth it too me."
Pros: "Nothing to brag about."
Cons: "Lack of space, over charged for baggage, delays on both ends of the trip."
Pros: "First we are flying due to a death in the family. We pay $60 per ticket. Next we get to the airport to check in to find out we had to pay for our seats even after we pay for our seats already. Then we find out that our small carry in bags are another fee. $55 dollars for each bag. So needless to say we had questions so we decided to check in at the counter in person. Oh she answers our questions the. Proceeded to tell us that because we checked in at the counter (because of questions and hidden fees) there was another fee of $10 person passenger. So we get onto the plane. To find out that if you want anything including water, it's at lease another $3.00. For water? Are you kidding? Then we get comfortable in a plane that is sized for a small child. The hear not once, not twice, but three times about a credit card. I am appalled to be bugged three times about a personal finance. Jeez. I didn't pay that much money to be sold on a credit card. I would expect this from a time share. And finally when the plan landed it actually rattled. Sounded like the wings were going to fall down off. So needless to say you have lost our business. We will never fly with Spirit again and neither will my family members."
Pros: "Everything went smooth."
Cons: "All the fees were too high and didn't like that they go up if you don't do it right away. I paid for a carry on and then had to check it and it cost me $5.00 more for a lot smaller bag what a joke! Large suitcase $50 little carry on $60 way to high!!!!!"
Cons: "Flight to Denver was loud not a good flight attendance Was very poor"
Cons: "My flight was booked for the wrong day. I only had one day selected on Kayak.com so I never thought to call in and verify time and date. I was signed up for text notifications but I never received anything."
Pros: "I had heard bad things about Spirit, how they charge for carry-on's and so on and so on, I was very nervous as it was my first time traveling with my infant alone and with Spirit airlines. The experience was great, and plane staff as well. I did not get charged for anything and had no troubles at all. The staff was friendly, helpful and smiled when asked something. I would definitely travel with Spirit Airlines again and recommend others to it as well. Thank you for the good experience for me and my child."
Cons: "The one and only thing I did not like was the DFW airport Spirit front customer service rep that assisted me before security, she was rude and was upset that I was at her booth. The rep asked me who told me to go to her and I had to point out the person who did, that for me was unnecessary as it shouldn't matter who told me to go to her for assistance and make me feel uncomfortable asking for it. Then she was upset that my infant was not added to the flight, as I mentioned before it was my first time traveling with my infant. She added her on the flight to Phoenix but for some reason did not add her to the return flight and the Spirit customer service rep from Phoenix had to take the time and add her to the returning flight to DFW. He was very polite and friendly had a smile on hes face the whole time, even asked hes lead to assist me with a good seat for me and my child. That is the type of service every rep should be giving to every customer no matter what time of the day it is."
Pros: "Crew was funny and made the flight entertaining at such a late hour."
Cons: "The crew"
Cons: "I spent 7 hours sitting in an airport with nothing to do spent more money at the bar in the restaurant and with my baggage then with the actual ticket cost plus I made it 9 hours later"
Pros: "I liked that the lady working at the gate had empathy for me and understanding why I'd be upset for not knowing that I would be charged $55 at the gate to carry on a bag. She was nice and just doing her job despite having a large unexpected fee."
Cons: "Not being aware that I would be charged $55 to carry on a bag. That was totally unexpected. And according to the person working the gate, if I had known they charged for carry on bags, I could've paid at the time of the ticket purchase and paid only $22."
Pros: "The crew was funny and made my flight go fast."
Cons: "A lot. Spirit does not accept cash for your drinks. What place doesn't accept cash??? Also on the link to the website that gives info about how many bags your allowed to check-in it said 2 and 1 carry-on. I flew to L.A. for work so I had some tools in my check-in bag. They charged me $130 for checking in 2 bags. I showed them the Web page and she told me it has not been updated. I was upset. The checking of the bags cost me more than my flight. Both bags did not exceed 30 lbs. I'm flying Southwest from now on."
Pros: "Plenty of room on plane. Clean plane."
Cons: "1hr delay when landed. 2hrs for a1hr flight :-( Bud light beer only! Whatta!? Really? Charging for everything! Seats, bags, a drink and a snack! Tried to "save money" flying Spirit... Ended up saving only 20% vs southwest and that 20% was def not worth the aggravation, delay, and lack of any real customer service. All we heard was "sorry for the inconvenience" from the pilot on the intercom lol.. Did not seem authentic. Truly disappointed as a consumer. Will not fly Spirit again even if it were free. I'd rather drive."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Spirit will charge you extra for almost anything imaginable. There is no free carry on luggage except a small personal item. No free printing of boarding passes at the airport. Prepare to be nickel and dimed for anything extra. Spirit fares are ok but other airlines can offer fares just as cheap or even cheaper if you are flexible with the date and time. None of the Spirit planes I've ever been on have charging outlets or entertainment screens which are becoming standard comforts on most other airlines. Not to mention, Spirit gave me hassle for using an e-boarding pass. Really, Spirit? All other major airlines accept electronic boarding passes via mobile phone. Requiring printed boarding passes is so outdated. I would choose any other airline than Spirit if at all possible."
Pros: "I loved that it was clean, on time, and the flight crew was nice and very hilarious! Made it very fun!"
Pros: "Everything was good"
Pros: "Service was great, flight was on time"
Cons: "You have to pay for soda, but the fare is great, luggage has to fit underneath the seat in front of you, my original flight was cancelled due to lack of crew."
Cons: "We are LIVID that flight was canceled and we're not contacted until we went through security! My husband is handicapped and you have no idea what a nightmare it became because we had 3 connecting flights from PHX to OGG (Hawaii)! Then you have the stupidity to send out this survey for s flight that never existed! We will never fly Spirit again and we are cancelling both of our credit cards because we never want anything to do with Spirit....the phone agent said to go to any ticket agent and they would comp amd reschedule our flight with another airline. Ticket agent refused! The Maui trip we saved 40 years for to celebrate our 40th anniversary was totally ruined! Patricia A Carlini Carlinip114@gmail.con"
Cons: "Second leg of the Flight cancelled ten minutes before board with no warning -- I incidentally checked the flight status online where I found out. Full refund was given, but the staff was generally unhelpful to other passengers who could not immediately book another flight. Would not book with Spirit again."
Pros: "I loved the humor the crew worked into the mundane aspects of flying."
Cons: "I did not like having to pay an additional 45 dollars to bring on a cary on that seemed a bit steep in price point."
Pros: "My seat was comfortable"
Cons: "1) Flight delayed by 45 minutes 2) The people behind me were very loud and the flight attendent did not ask them to lower their voices even though it was midnight. 3) We had to wait on the plane for almost 40 minutes when we landed for them to prepare a gate and the air was turned off so it got very warm on the plane"
Pros: "Overall the web site looks like it was successfully intended to be attractive and it contains all the needed info."
Cons: "*Promising to answer a question "within 48hrs" is NOT OK when it is about checking in. *We SHOULD NOT have to register in order to be able to check in. Why is more than conf # and name needed unless it is to be shared or sold? *The needed info is scattered in many places on the site eg bag size, weight, and prices. *I was charged the "at checkin" price when I used the add baggage link before starting to check in; b/c I was within 24hrs? Purposely didn't start to check in yet so I wouldn't get the higher price."
Pros: "$45 Phoenix to LAX. Can't go wrong. My carry on easily met the requirements for the free bag. If you're going away for more than a long weekend probably makes more sense to fly another airline."
Pros: "The customer service was great and very funny flying attendance. My flight was very fast and comfortable. Thanks"
Cons: "I didn't like that I had to pay for my carry on luggage more than I pay for my flight ticket :/"
Cons: "The crew on my first flight were very accommodating and friendly, but on my second flight they were NOT so friendly and everyone around me was talking about how rude and unfriendly they were. This was my first time flying on Spirit and I asked for a pillow and the response I received from the Flight Attendant was "What!....we don't have pillows" Another reason I was unhappy was because on my connecting flight from Texas to Chicago we were delayed on the plane and NOBODY told us what the problem was and why we were not moving to the runway. After 42 minutes we were told "we are waiting for paperwork from Maintenance" that is it! Not how long they expect the wait to be or come around and offer us some drinks or snacks. The Flight Attendants DID NOT even walk the aisle....not even once! We finally took off after 75 minute delay. It was if we were on the plane alone...this is not how I would have handled the situation. I also obtained the Spirit credit card to rack up some miles, but not I am giving it a second thought!"
Cons: "Everything but especially the flight attendants who spent most of the flight in a very loud conversation in the back"
Pros: "The boarding process was actually fairly smooth and efficient."
Cons: "I purchased the Spirit ticket because it was ~$30 cheaper than my other options. I was okay with the connecting flights for the savings. Silly me, I didn't check the fine print-- Spirit charges to CARRY ON a bag. Both ways. The $30 I thought I saved was quickly erased when I ended up spending $90 to carry a duffel bag on the plane. All FOUR of my flights were delayed by nearly two hours. Seats were thin, sparsely padded, and cramped."
Pros: "The crew coming back had a sense of humor. Made it more enjoyable."
Cons: "Still think your luggage rates are outrageous. What I saved on flight the luggage check in rate made it more expensive. Probably won't use you again. Sorry, but money is tight. And charging the outrageoust rates for snacks. Shame on you."
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "Delayed for 3 hours!!! Flying out and coming back home, we had major delays due to mechanical problems. No excuse to have that long of delays if they were keeping up with the maintenance on the planes like they should. I will NEVER fly Spirit again!"
Pros: "I found an excellent price to Phoenix, Their web site states CLEARLY the costs from baggage size, seats being non reclining and close, along with option of paying for roomier seat, On both flights it was not a full plane and I was able to move to the roomy seat in front of me, and the other flight I moved to an entire empty row. the flight crew were humorous along with informative.. If you can pack your things in a gym duffel bag this is the way to go. I'm glad this NO FRILLS airline was an option for a 58 year old female going to Arizona for a week ."
Pros: "What did I like? Getting of your airline and being done with Spirit for forever. I won't ever use our recommend Spirit to ANYONE. Not even my worst enemy."
Cons: "I did not like having to pay for a carry on bag, a drink/snack that is normally complimentary on any other airline. I did not like the upset and annoyed attitude of your staff. I did not like the very uncomfortable seats. I did not like the woman next to me being told that she would just have to be cold because Spirit did not carry blankets even for a charge. I did not like being treated life just another annoying customer won you staff could not be more annoyed with out happier to see leave. SPIRIT AIRLINE = 5#1T AIRLINE"
Cons: "3 hour delay. No excuse, no vouche; nothing. This company is worthless. I understand low budget travel but this cost me more because they SUCK."
Pros: "I arrive home"
Cons: "Extra Charges for everything. Seats do not recline, etc."
