I always fly American; however, with this business trip I had no choice (timing wise) but to fly Southwest. I have to admit, it was a lot more efficient than flying American. The check-in and baggage drop was faater than i normally wait with American. Though I wasn't sure how I felt Bout not having assigned seating before I boarded. It was nice being able to quickly assess who I wanted for seatmates while boarding to try and guarantee the most comfortable flight for myself. I also ended up with the smoothest landing that I've had in MANY of years!

Provo is a great alternative to flying into SLC. I specially if staying closer to Utah county (Provo/orem/lehi)

May need to catch the underground train between gate locations in SEATAC, prepare yourself accordingly

Be PreTSA approved, it makes the enterire process more efficient T.

We normally fly American out of phoenix, much more options. This time we flew united with connections on Lufthansa. A bit more juggling than our normal American airline and their connections.

Do not believe the extra leg room gimmick. It's not real.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaPHX-IAHAug 2024
We landed on a domestic flight in C terminal, and had an international departure from Terminal E. FYI, the food and drink selection is better in C, so if you have the time don’t rush to your departure gate.
MichaelFlew with American AirlinesPHX-SFOJun 2024
Upgraded - so everything went smooth, comfortable seats, nice attention from staff

Seattle airport is nuts compared to PHX. Be patient when you land.

I like United Airlines company, but more room for improvement

Be prepared for the disorientation of SeaTac as the entire terminal appears to be under construction. It’s unnerving.
Tuan-ThanhFlew with SouthwestPHX-SNAAug 2024
Try to be in group A if possible or steer clear of this airline.
KFlew with SouthwestPHX-LAXMay 2024
Book with a long gap if you have a connection on another airline. My flight from Phoenix was only 1 hr long but there was an over 2 hr delay in boarding. Luckily I allowed a 6 hour gap between flights for my other flight leaving overseas or I would have missed it. Many people like me fly one flight to LA which has a lot more international departures because it’s a lot cheaper to break the flights up than to book them together . So it’s important that flights are somewhat on time especially between different flights not connected with one booking.
AnnFlew with American AirlinesTUS-DFWMar 2024
I would not choose to connect through DFW if I could avoid it. Every thing was very inconvenient; Restaurants close early on Sunday, help with rebooking was on a different floor and required a shuttle ride, the elevators and some escalators were that provided access to ground transport were out of service. It was a mess. However, the associates were pleasant at the gate, 7/11 stoe, customer service, cleaning crew, and ground transport.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesTUS-SEAMay 2024
Be sure to get instructions on how to get to your connecting gate as Seatac airport is pretty big and uses a subway like train to get from one terminal to the next.
LuisFlew with American AirlinesPHX-JFKMay 2024
Google the airplane they will fly in to see if it will be comfortable or not. I recommend the 777-200ER
CHARLESFlew with American AirlinesPHX-PHLMar 2024
Make use of the food, beverages, and amenities in American Admirals Club in PHX before departure on any flight.

Using TSA pre-check makes everything go a lot smoother. Well worth the money.
JamesFlew with Alaska AirlinesPHX-SEAMay 2024
the flight from phoenix to seattle was crowded but the crew was great. The plane would have been more comfortable had they flew the 737 max on this leg. I had an aisle seat at the back and throughout the flight had a line of passengers bumping into me due to the narrow aisle and people attempting to pass each other.
Verified travelerFlew with Allegiant AirPHX-AVLMar 2024
Asheville airport under construction; this flight was unloaded by ramp or stairs (can't remember) on the tarmac close enough to the building, but you are exposed briefly to whatever the weather is be it wind, rain, cold, etc.
ANAFlew with FrontierPHX-SANMar 2024
More staff because you have just a few and they look overwhelmed and tired and for that reason the quality is getting poor
MichaelFlew with FrontierPHX-PDXFeb 2024
Waymo (Google's driverless robotaxi) is operating the the Phoenix area. Pricing comparable to Uber/Lyft, but no tipping since no driver. It is a novel experience and worth trying of your route falls in the service area. The PHX airport (at least Terminal 3) is really lovely, clean, and bright. The Skytrain (free, runs between Terminals, and transit stations every 5 mins or so) is excellent as well.

I’ve only flown with American PHX to PHL. Only platinum but did get upgraded both ways on a trip in 2023
AnnetteFlew with United AirlinesPHX-SFOJan 2024
United has the options for business folks needing earlier flights. Alaska has better flight attendants.

Choose an airline like Southwest, where you check your bags for free.

Baggage delay was long on return flight to PHX. Not pleasant but it was due to cargo door issues. Other than that things were good.

Glad it wasn't raining because I didn't realize we would disembark on the tarmac at PAE
