Don't get a middle seat if you have long legs

Southwest seems to board and unload about as smooth as any airline - carry on items seem to work as smooth as any airline I have used. Southwest also does not charge to check bags which seems to encourage people to check bags instead of bring an enormous carry on item that does not fit well in the cabin.

Delta is great! Make sure to get to their airport early though. PHX security is a zoo.

Don’t be that person who holds up the plane because of your carry on. Whether putting in over bin (able to lift it on your own) or refusing to not listen when space is full and need to check it.

When they tell you that you need a visa to enter Canada, double check and do some research before boarding.

Provo is a great alternative to flying into SLC. I specially if staying closer to Utah county (Provo/orem/lehi)

Make sure that you have seat assignments before your flight because this route is usually full and the seats are small

We landed on a domestic flight in C terminal, and had an international departure from Terminal E. FYI, the food and drink selection is better in C, so if you have the time don’t rush to your departure gate.
GlennFlew with Alaska AirlinesPHX-SEAJul 2024
Be prepared for the disorientation of SeaTac as the entire terminal appears to be under construction. It’s unnerving.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesTUS-SEAMay 2024
Be sure to get instructions on how to get to your connecting gate as Seatac airport is pretty big and uses a subway like train to get from one terminal to the next.

Make use of the food, beverages, and amenities in American Admirals Club in PHX before departure on any flight.

Using TSA pre-check makes everything go a lot smoother. Well worth the money.

Book with a long gap if you have a connection on another airline. My flight from Phoenix was only 1 hr long but there was an over 2 hr delay in boarding. Luckily I allowed a 6 hour gap between flights for my other flight leaving overseas or I would have missed it. Many people like me fly one flight to LA which has a lot more international departures because it’s a lot cheaper to break the flights up than to book them together . So it’s important that flights are somewhat on time especially between different flights not connected with one booking.

Asheville airport under construction; this flight was unloaded by ramp or stairs (can't remember) on the tarmac close enough to the building, but you are exposed briefly to whatever the weather is be it wind, rain, cold, etc.

Google the airplane they will fly in to see if it will be comfortable or not. I recommend the 777-200ER
AnnFlew with American AirlinesTUS-DFWMar 2024
I would not choose to connect through DFW if I could avoid it. Every thing was very inconvenient; Restaurants close early on Sunday, help with rebooking was on a different floor and required a shuttle ride, the elevators and some escalators were that provided access to ground transport were out of service. It was a mess. However, the associates were pleasant at the gate, 7/11 stoe, customer service, cleaning crew, and ground transport.
MichaelFlew with FrontierPHX-PDXFeb 2024
Waymo (Google's driverless robotaxi) is operating the the Phoenix area. Pricing comparable to Uber/Lyft, but no tipping since no driver. It is a novel experience and worth trying of your route falls in the service area. The PHX airport (at least Terminal 3) is really lovely, clean, and bright. The Skytrain (free, runs between Terminals, and transit stations every 5 mins or so) is excellent as well.

Ring in first class for an overnight flight, there was no blankets nor pillows for first class customers.

I didn't like that my paid for seat was changed 2 hours before my flight.

Overall, a good experience. The food, however, was subpar. The breakfast was a joke.

First world problems, but still… We were seated in first class and asked for a cocktail on a very short, 50 minute flight. After our drink order was taken, a half hour went by, and we noticed that every other person in the small plane had been served except for us. We got up to ask about it, the drinks finally came, then were taken away three minutes later since the flight was so short. Really strange situation, on the other hand, we were in Utah.

Boarding took forever, the plane was cramped and cold, and the seatbelt song came on constantly throughout the red eye flight with a loud pre-recorded message playing each time

Wonderful crew and early arrival to our destination. It was so nice to have free wifi access and movies too. Thank you!

Very friendly and efficient and smooth boarding. We were even way early arriving at my destination. Thank you.

Bigger seats. Board back to front! Disembark front to back!

Plane was pretty clean, staff was friendly and helpful, flight left about on time arrived early. Took a long time to board and get off the plane - carry on items didn't have enough room so people had to move all around to find places.

Service in first class no longer exists on American Airlines .

Not on time. Taxied around the airport for 30 MINUTES! The pilot never said a word. Ai

Great flight, professional crew, convenient and interesting nonstop routes. Had trouble with getting precheck listed on boarding pass, but found that customer service was remarkably responsive via email — unheard of with other carriers. A great experience overalll.

I felt like a sardine in my seat. We all did. The plane was so small that I hit my head on the roof when I stood up from my seat. The service was good and the crew were nice.

My luggage is missing and contour is doing a terrible service helping finding it. Unbelievable and the worst experience ever. I would love get my money back.

Flight was cancelled, but they got him on an earlier delayed rescheduled one. Arrived Chicago 2 hours later than expected but long layover so it worked.

Crew very helpful, weather made the flight less than optimal.

Flight was fine. I just forgot how smaller planes have more dips and seats in high winds.

It’s the only flight connecting Marion to Chicago, I do appreciate that it was available!

The flight was delayed and then less than 30 mins before boarding they cancelled the flight when clearly they had to have known earlier that they were going to have to cancel. There was only one person there available to talk to and all he could do was tell us to call reservations our self. Due to high call volume I waited 2 hours to even get rebooked on a flight to a different city where I would still have to drive 1 hr to my destination, only option for me. While waiting to talk to reservations people were getting emails with new flight info and the flights were days out and sone even a week out. . I did not get compensated in anyway after having spent all day at the airpot, not even a food voucher. Very disappointed, terrible experience.

Information regarding the delayed flight could have been better, and the Contour airlines app needs some serious updates. But overall, the crew was great and the flight was uneventful.
