Our connecting flight was booked incorrectly do we had to spend the night in Frankfurt. Our 13 hour flight took 29 hours. The food was awful."

Cons: "I tried to reschedule due to a death in the family and due to the "small print" this was not possible. Then when I did travel, it turned out I didn't have the right for a piece luggage (again "small print"). I paid for the extra piece and I was double-charged (same amount withdrawn twice). Now I have opened a complained with Austrian and they haven't responded so far."

Cons: "1- the aircraft from cairo to munich was so small that they didn’t allow the carry on baggage and I had to put it with the check in baggage. 2- the special meal ( muslim meal ) that I ordered was a veggie meal !!!!! With no meat or chicken at all , apparently they don’t know what the meaning of a muslim meal is ! It means to have halal meat , we are not vegetarians ! 3- my baggage didn’t arrive to the airport and I filed a report and was told that I will have them tomorrow and now after four days the baggage didn’t arrive yet and I was told that one of them is missing !!!!!!! I can’t hate them enough."

If I book with United, I can't select my Lufthansa seats until 24 hours before my flight. That means I end up in the back of the plane in the least desirable seats. If I book with Lufthansa, then I can't book my United seats. I have booked with United and paid for economy plus, then find as I board, the Lufthansa flight doesn't have economy plus."

Cons: "Plane delayed. Then when on board, pilot apologized due to the very warm cabin as "the auxilariary power unit isn't working." Then long delay because the baggage ground crew messed up and again according to the pilot "we apologize for the ground crew's failure to do their job properly and some baggage wasn't loaded properly." Once we landed we had like 20 minutes to go through security AGAIN and nearly missed the final flight to our Seattle destination. No mention of local time upon landing, no one at gate to direct lots of people rushing for connections."

Cons: "Planes are old and cramped. Our plane gave us the "personal entertainment option" which meant you had to use your own device since they are too cheap to upgrade the planes. However, this international flight only had american plugs so anyone without an adapter was SOL. I tried to watch the large screen at the front of my section but they showed the movie Lion that is in Hindi and therefore had subtitles and I couldn't read the words from 12 rows back. The boarded process is like a cattle call. DO NOT FLY UNITED!!! I thought I was flying Lufthansa but it was a bait and switch situation."

After we found a United rep and started walking towards the gate we came across the passport control area that had a huge crowd waiting in line. I saw that we literally had 15 min left, while the long line would take us 20-25 min to get through. We had to jump through the lines and cut in front of people explaining everybody our predicament and making people upset. Got back stressed and tired"

Cons: "We were delayed by complicated connection from Vienna train station to Vienna airport, by the time we arrived, we missed our flight. We called your customer service, and a recording stated that we would get a reply within 48 hrs. We contacted website customer service and it stated that we would get a reply within 48 hrs. We needed immediate assistance from a HUMAN BEING to change our reservation, that was impossible. We were forced to purchase new tickets, the cost was $2,500, we had to stay overnight in a nearby hotel, the cost was $220. We are returning one day later than planned all because we could not reach you."

Cons: "I am writing to you because of the poor service that I experienced with your Operations Manager in Vienna, Paola Contestabile. I travel internationally four to five times a year for the past decade and I have never had such awful service as for my Lufthansa Flight 2329 on Jun 14th under confirmation #62RZK3. I was on my return flight to the US with the exact same carry on baggage that I had left the US with a week earlier- a roller carry on and a backpack for my laptop. This is my standard everywhere in the world that I travel and have never had an issue. I bought a painting on my trip and checked it in. With regards to my carry on, Ms. Contestabile was insistent that I could only have one piece for carry on. I told her to get the baggage rules and I would read them to her. I am a trained lawyer and value the meaning of words and rules. I explained that I am allowed one carry on and a personal item. She argued that my backback is not a personal item and that only a "laptop" is a personal item. I again explained that my personal item was my laptop bag, the same way a purse is a personal item for a lady. She finally relented and allowed me to pass through security and passport check. I assumed that this was the end of her confusion. Little did I expect that while sitting by the gate waiting to board the plane, Ms. Contestabile would emerge again and declare in front of all of the passengers that I would not be allowed to board the flight if I did not check my backpack. I told her this is unacceptable, since she had already cleared me. She said she had changed her mind. I found this response to be ridiculous. When I asked to speak with her manager, she refused to allow it, stating "I am the manager today." Ms. Contestabile even went to the pilot of the plane and convinced him that I was a "safety concern" because I wasn't following her ridiculous interpretation of the rules. This is a pure abuse of power and a threat to true safety when a ground crew member can make such a false and baseless accusation. Luckily, a woman passenger overhearing Ms. Contestabile told me that she could not believe the way she was treating me and offered to carry my bag for me. I am requesting a formal investigation into her actions and appropriate disciplinary procedures to ensure Ms. Contestabile is not allowed to threaten another passenger again."

The booking experience was easy, but the important note I want to make was during a large Colorado snowstorm where flights were being cancelled, I was able to proactively re-book my ticket with the help of Airfare.com customer service. Though it was complicated, I want to make sure Airfare.com gets credit for doing a good job."

Cons: "My economy seat was right in front of the emergency exit which had a plastic or metal blockage behind my seat. I could not fully recline which made the trip a little more uncomfortable, especially since the traveler in front of my reclined all the way."

Cons: "Aircraft VERY aged--NO charging ports?! Entertainment screens tiny and old touch screen interface, slow to respond. Remote control on arm rest=accidental volume changes and such. Do NOT get the veggie pasta, it's terrible. Overhead bins do not hold large bags correctly."

Cons: "Dear Sir or Madam: My two colleagues and I bought our tickets from BWI to Geneva, via London Heathrow, through Kayak as I have many times in the past. However, the Kiwi.com travel agency did not flag that the ticket from BWI to London Heathrow allowed for one piece of checked luggage, but the ticket from London Heathrow onwards to Geneva did not allow for any checked luggage. Also astonishingly, we had to pass through Customs, reclaim our checked suitcases from the baggage carousel, and check in again through Customs to board the onward flight, both coming and going through London Heathrow. In addition to the extraordinary inconvenience that we could neither transit at London Heathrow to our connecting flight without going through Customs twice and that we could not check our luggage through to our final destination, we also had to foot a higher baggage charge to allow for checking in our suitcases, now that we had arrived in London Heathrow only to discover this that our onward ticket did not cover one piece of checked luggage. Had we known that the seemingly better price posted by Kiwi.com on Kayak’s comparative offerings came at such a high price of inconvenience and additional expense for the luggage, we would have taken our business elsewhere. It was deceptive of Kiwi.com to engage in such practices, even if it disclosed these conditions in fine print (for no one would expect, nor have I ever seen previously in the hundreds of flights I have taken as a Million Miler on United), without flagging this. And similarly, it was irresponsible of Kayak.com to allow this “apples with oranges” comparison on its website. I’m making three more international trips in December, but I’m inclined not to use either Kayak.com and most certainly not Kiwi.com for future airline ticket purchases."

Cons: "Our BA flight from Vienna to London was 30 minuets delayed and we almost missed our connection. BA crews and captain never apologized or explained the reason. They didn’t bother to check and announce the gate of major connection flights like some other airlines would do. They just said “Check the departure information board when you arrive.” We made to our AA flight only it happened to be in the same terminal."

Cons: "it is ridiculous that i should have to pay 75 euro for my first bag. additionally, BA doesn't even give you free refreshments anymore!!!! When every other airline does better than BA on these fronts, why would I ever fly with them again?"

Cons: "Two flight attendants to service the whole of Euro class meant waiting nearly two hours to be served a bottle of water and a sandwich. Too much time is lost trying to cook food and take the money. Just add £5 to every ticket and give the food as part of the service, you are not a budget airline Plus dont rub our noses in it by bringing meals from the first class galley to feed the crew at the rear of the plane."

Cons: "Transfer at the Heathrow airport was such a hustle. Even though we had about hour and a half for transfer, take getting off board into consideration, we were on the run to our next gate for about 50 minutes without stopping, barely had a chance to use a restroom. Longer transfer period is needed most definitely. Also at least complimentary glass of water would be nice on the board."

Heathrow was busy so went into a holding pattern which added time and some passengers became worried about their connections. Upon landing they mixed up baggage pickup and we had to wait a long time running between two conveyor belts looking for it."

Cons: "The connection in London - just one hour - was absolutely not enough. It takes 15 minutes or so just to empty a large plane. Then, if you have to make a connection from one terminal to the other, as we did, you rush to a bus that drives you all the way across the airport. At that point you rush to find yourself faced with going through security yet again. All this made us miss our flight and turned what should have been a 10 hour trip into a 24 hour trip. That is British Airways fault for leaving so little time to connect. When you book your flights, be sure to have an hour and a half at the very least - preferably 2 hours."

Fast right? Nope. Walked for days and then we got to go through security again. Arrived to gate. More of room with in access, but no out access. Good thing there were bathrooms in there - oh no wait - there weren't. Good long wait with kids before we could board."
