Cons: "I understand there were a lot of issues with the weather and the original plane to be boarded. We departed an hour and 15 minutes late and with the transfer of planes, it seemed that at least half the plane did not get their luggage. There was at least 50 of us standing at the baggage claim and we never got our bags. There was also no one to really talk to about it except one person. We all lined up to give our information to her. Fortunately, I was already talking to her when the line started and got that done pretty quickly. As far as the rest of the passengers, I'm assuming if they were at the back they had to waste another hour waiting to give information after waiting about an hour for our luggage. Also, I live local so it is not a big deal for me to go to the airport to retrieve my bag, wherever it is. Others do not have that luxury."

Pros: "I had to cancel my trip plans and went to cancel and found out that not only would I not get a refund on the flight but I also was not going to be able to get a refund on the seat selection. Front tier has nickeled and dimed me to a degree that I would never Fly them ever."

You have to pay for any seat selection other than in the back of the plane. when all is said and done, their prices are equal or higher than any other carrier."

Cons: "Impossible to fit through your aisle to get to main aisle if someone's seat is reclined. I literally had to crawl over the people in the middle and aisle seats because I could y walk in front of them without basically being in their laps. The biggest thing, ITS ALWAYS A DELAYED FLIGHT. I have flown frontier San Diego to Denver and OC to Denver probably over 100 times. I have ALWAYS had a delayed flight do to nothing but poor planning by frontier. It's never weather, 85: never a plane malfunction, just delayed for whatever reasons. It's pretty irritating after years of flying your airline, that you can pretty much always gaurentee a delayed flight."

I had no luggage to check in so I tried the kiosk, finally got one to work and it found me and my flight but said I needed to go to the counter. I waited in line >25 minutes then they announced that all Orange County passengers needed to move ahead. Got my ticket no problem, but another long line through security and not sure if I would make the flight. Got to the gate 2 minutes before boarding. It all caused a lot of anxiety!! The flight was fine- no frills and it was somewhat late arriving.I am not sure I will fly Frontier again."

Then even carry on bags cost an extra $30 each way, if you get the cheapest seats and carry on a bag, your flight ends up being $100 extra from what was displayed."

My entire 5 hour stay at the airport we were never updated once on the staus of our flight. I was also charged over $100 for just my bags and my seat. $45 for a carry on bag is ridiculous. I paid more for my seat and bag than I did for my actual ticket. Paying $13 to sit in the very last row is stupid. I will never be flying with Spirit ever again. Legitimate robbery. The website and app were also slow and hard to operate."

So I show up an hour and a half ahead of boarding, which is on the latter side for me. Security lines weren't very long, they just took their time which wasted everyone else's. I get through that line, look at the departure board - wait IT'S ON TIME?! They start boarding soon if it's on time and it's a further gate so I run down there and guess what? Delayed an hour. Okay, that's fine. Go grab something to eat, come back, settle in for a little bit, board - on my sweet way. Go grab some food quickly, come back - another hour delay? What the heck? I must've missed an announcement. Guess I should plug in my phone for the wait, I expected to meet some friends and potential clients layer that night, communication is key. I misplaced my charger, no big deal just went and got one of those power rods (highly recommend) and come back - ANOTHER HOUR?! That's pretty insane. One of my friends flying from Dallas that departed at 7:30 could be up in the air before I am. Step aside, give him a call to update, call potential clients letting them know I will be delayed getting there. No issue. Turn around - my goodness well what do you know, another hour! At this rate I call my hotel, because I can't lose my reservation if I can't check in on time. Hotel was the waterfront crowne plaza (another highly recommended item in this review by me). I plant in my seat, set my roots, meet a few nice people. Figuring I'd kill some time by meeting some great people. Met a family from Detroit and got some awesome food recommendations. Randomly over the speaker - we have another delay - another HOUR delay. Well this is just turning into a horror story, will I ever get there? Should I request a new flight? My buddy in Dallas departed 3+ hours after I was supposed to, and was up in the air already (he landed before me too). At this rate I cancel my meeting. We board, we take off, we land. Woman sitting next to me was nice. Plane didn't crash. Just landed in Detroit about 7+ hours later than expected. All in all, don't take spirit. Looking at prices they are the cheapest, not by a huge margin though. Pay the extra 70 or so dollars to take another airline. Even if it's $150 dollars more, take the other airline. They want to charge you 65 dollars for a carry-on. Their website was created by a 12 year old. Simply getting your boarding pass includes cross and up sells that make the process 10x more frustrating, especially when you know what you're dealing with on the second flight back. (By the way spirit if you can read this I'm a consultant for advertising, digital media, and UI for e-commerce - I can help you with your terrible website and the offers that come along with it) Just take the other airline, any other. It won't save you money most likely, but it will save you a lot of headaches, time, and embarrassment."

She just stood there for about 45 minutes doing nothing though. Ridiculous. I'll never fly this airline again."

Pros: "I managed restaurants for years, so I want to start off by saying I'm VERY forgiving when it comes to mistakes. 4 out of the 5 flights I've mistakenly subjected myself to with Spirit have been absolutely atrocious in every way imaginable. This one was so horrible I can't even type the story in fear I'll start to relive it. Trust me and please let my pain and suffering be reconciled through saving you the pain of walking in the shoes of a Spirit Airlines customer. If ever considering a flight with Spirit...just say no. If for some crazy reason they draw you in with a price, schedule, airport location, or any other reason or combination of reasons...I promise you, it isn't worth it. Even if the flight is free, you'll feel cheated and short changed in the end after you overcome the shear disbelief that any company could survive operating the way they do. And if you're still considering Spirit at this point, I wish you luck...you'll need plenty of it. They're mediocre 20^ of the time. If you're flight is like the greater 80% of my experiences, Lord help you."

One suitcase is 38$, you have no carry-on free, carry-ons are even more expensive than a regulär suitcase. You just get one Personal item free, not more. Was on a Five hour flight to LA and got nothing. No food, not even water. For everything I had to pay. They don't have WiFi, no on board entertainment. The seats was small and uncomfortable. Oh and in teirs suitcases they just allow 18 kg, not 23 like everyone else. So I had 24 kg and they charged me 55$ for they overweight. Their Tickets might be cheap, but in the end for me it would have been better flying with another Airline."
Cons: "I was asked to change my seat from 29A to 3E to accommodate a family who wanted to sit together. I was told that 3E was a better seat. 3E turned out to be a nightmare. A row away was a child who screamed for 75% of the flight but that wasn't the worst part. 3E was situated between a man and a woman who must have weighed 450 pounds! I literally had half of a seat for the entire flight. I really feel that I should be reimbursed because of how uncomfortable I was forced to fly for the entire flight. A person of that size should not be squeezed into a row of three seats."

Since I had to be in a wedding, I kind of had to fly out, so I ended up paying $900 (!!!!!) on a last minute flight on delta. I'll never try to save money up front again. Spirit assured me I'd have a refund in 5-7 business days, which was clearly useful in helping me buy my ticket to actually get to my destination."

I took some things out and put them in my husbands personal bag of which I paid another 25$ for. While entering the gate we then found out that my husbands bag was not considered a personal bag we then had to pay 100$ Right before boarding the plane. This is the same bag that we used to go to our original destination on the same airline 4 days prior and did not have to pay for. Then on top of that all the flight was late. I put spirit in the same basket as frontier. Will NEVER fly this airline again."
