We pay for the seats that have extra leg space and it was still so uncomfortable! I’m 1.60 cms of height I’m not tall at all! The poor guy that was next to me was going crazy in the small space! I can’t imagine the regular seats! It’s unbearable for 9 hours!! Also it was super hot! I had to stay with a small top and sweeting.
Yet another delayed American Airlines flight (the one coming over was delayed too.). I understand these things happen. My issue is that the flight crew does a lousy job of keeping passengers informed of what is going on with the delays. They wait until 15 minutes after your scheduled departure to tell you why you're still sitting at the gate. Then they tell you it will only be another 5 minutes. After 20 more minutes they decide to tell you why you haven't moved, and it should only be 5 MORE minutes. Really, American, if you don't have any idea how long the delay really might be, don't just pull numbers out of the air. People prefer honesty to BS.

Cons: "WiFi did’t work. Boarding the end of the terminal/gate was a mess. Crew was late, so flight was late. Packed in like sardines....normal American Airlines."

Cons: "Everything! Crew were terse, rude and inattentive. Due to an issue with a bag on board without the associated passenger we had to taxi back to the stand for it to be removed before we could take off. This cost us an hours delay. There was limited apologies for this, no refreshments provided during the wait and poor communication of this. During the flight the staff were inattentive and sparing with refreshments. Service generally did not live up to expected level associated with an inter-continents flight. The flight was turbulent but crew and captain seemed over cautious with it and crew had to remain seated unnecessarily at times and at the detriment of passenger service. One stewardess wouldn’t even let me finish a drink before removing it from my hand claiming we were about to land and she had to sit down because of turbulence. We were still 40 mins from landing at this point! All in all a pretty bad flight, and it’s safe to say I won’t be flying American Airlines again."

Cons: "Initially delayed by 3hours (mechanical) which was American Eagle couldn’t get their “bucket of bolts” to Springfield, MO on time so we missed our flight out of Charlotte to Barcelona. Then we were rerouted through Chicago, but lost our first class seats and were bumped back to coach. This was after I had bought first class tickets for the entire trip only to be told 3 months before leaving that AA decided to switch planes on our domestic flight so there’s were no first class seats. THEN, in Chicago we tried to get first class seats on British Airways which would have been fine but After being sent to another terminal (after the bus to that terminal had stopped running) we were turned back because British Airways wouldn’t accept the boarding pass that AA had issued us. Now, having to go back to the first terminal to DISCUSS all this, we miss that flight and wind up stuck in Chicago for another 24 hours. Then, that flight was delayed by 3 hours, so we lost a day and a half of our vacation."

This needs to be addressed and contributed to our lack of comfort, noting this was the last leg of an 18 hour journey. My body still hurts today after a good nights sleep."

Pros: "The 777-300 is a beauty. So spacious! Traveling in the main cabin of this plane feels like you're in first class compared to other planes. Great in-flight entertainment. Clear communication from captain and crew. Overall, the best plane ride I've had in the last 5 years."

Cons: "We booked a BA flight from Pittsburgh to Glasgow, through Philadelphia. We intentionally chose BA because we anticipated good service. We later learned that the flight was serviced by American. Our original flight was delayed one day because we missed our connection due to weather on the East Coast (after six hours at the airport). American re-ticketed us for a flight the next day. After several misstarts in Pittsburgh, we arrived in Philadelphia with minutes to spare. After running to the gate, we were then greeted with what turned out to be a four hour delay. Then, upon return, we learned that our seat selections/priority boardings were all deleted because of the re-ticketing on the on the flight out, and we spent hours on the phone and at the airport trying to get things sorted out and ensure that we had a return flight. One of the worst trips ever in my experience."

Cons: "Basically, when i was boarding there was a 60 min call for closing the gate, which I went up front to check in. However the front person totally ignored me, and I missed my flight coming back. After that I had to pay extra $275 (or close to that amount) to reschedule the flight. Worst experience ever."
