Cons: Flight Attendant crew was grouchy and rude to guests. In spite of covid, plane was packed and the four seats across were too tight and comfortable as a 2x4. Should have driven the eight hours instead of flying alaska. They used to be much better than this.Read more about Alaska Airlines
Cons: Flight Attendant crew was grouchy and rude to guests. In spite of covid, plane was packed and the four seats across were too tight and comfortable as a 2x4. Should have driven the eight hours instead of flying alaska. They used to be much better than this.
Pros: Friendly crew, comfortable seating, on-time departure and landing.
Cons: It was fine...no complaints... crew friendly
Pros: It’s comfortable
Cons: Thank you
Pros: Excelent job
Cons: I recomended to my friends
Cons: Movie options and better food variety
Cons: Announcements via intercom too rushed, unclear and poorly pronounced. The speaker needs to pronounce each word, and the end of each word clearly.
Pros: Less turbulence on the aircraft, flight attendants provided great customer service
Cons: Delayed Flight
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Alaskan dropped the ball, and made me miss my flight. Now I am delayed 4 hours, and missed the event I was needing to be at. No refund on either tickets. 300 dollars down the drain.
Pros: This was the most leg room I've ever seen in economy class. For someone who's tall--that's a huge plus. However, I couldn't sleep because I was so cold. I was wearing a sweater and long pants and was still freezing.
Cons: The temperature in the cabin was way too cold.
Pros: Friendly crew. Good selection of entertainment. Arrived early at destination.
Cons: Didn’t have food so I can’t rate it.
Pros: Movies on the plane.
Pros: Very nice people at Alaska air- always so nice and helpful and most importantly sincere
Cons: Boarding was confusing. Call never came for my row 25. Please have blankets available like years ago for coach- I had cold air blowing on me all flight
Pros: The plane was clean, with charging at the seat and entertainment choices via your own device were pretty good - new films and a good assortment of TV programming. The crew was friendly and efficient.
Cons: A few more inches of seat and leg room would give it an excellent
Pros: The flight crew was hilarious and very attentive. I love when they come on and have little personalized things.
Pros: Our flight attendant was great.
Cons: Seat are quite hard.
Pros: This was my first time flying. Everything was easy to follow, and everyone was so nice. Great first experience.
Cons: We were on a very small plane, it was a little crammed but no big issues.
Cons: The seat didn't recline and it was freezing. I took the red eye so I wasn't able to sleep because I was so uncomfortable.
Pros: Inboard entertainment and comfortable seats
Pros: The crew was very friendly
Cons: My seat didnt recline
Cons: Passengers moved from their assigned seats after the flight started, so I went from having a comfy back seat with nobody in the middle to suddenly having a very large person sitting in the middle. That alone wouldn't have been so bad, but he had very poor manners and spread his legs and arms out as far as he could. It was an extremely uncomfortable flight.
Pros: I paid the extra $50 for premium seats. The extra leg room was nice, that's about it. I literally heard conversations throughout the cabin, which is no on at Alaska airlines fault, however, with premium seating we were to be given free snacks and drinks (which obviously we had paid for) but my entire row was not asked or acknowledged the entire 5 hour flight. When I stopped the attendant and let her know upon landing she said they had come through the cabin 3 times and made me feel crazy for asking. I asked my neighbors and they received the Sam treatment. The attendants literally walked right past our row without asking anyone if we were hungry or thirsty. Rude!

Pros: the flight attendants were courteous and kind
Cons: pilots intercom voice was muffled and rapid
Pros: I was able to purchase food on board.
Pros: The crew was great and kept down the noise level. This is the first time I have been able to sleep on an over-night flight. We also arrived early and our luggage was ready within the 20 mins. they say.
Pros: I liked that the captain flew in a loop so we could all see the eclipse. Alaska Airlines is consistently the U.S. airline to rule them all.
Cons: There was a horrendous child seated behind me who refused to sit most of the flight and was constantly bumping/shaking my seat, but that's not the fault of the airline.
Pros: Flight was on time, crew was friendly. Bags came right on time. Plane was clean and comfortable
Pros: outlets at every seat to charge your devices roomy plane and seats friendly staff
Cons: had to pay for wifi no food
Pros: Everything went smoothly!
Cons: our flight was cancelled the night before rebooked on a later flight which would cause us to miss our ferry and other connections they did rebook when I called, adding another connection, but only my husband was rebooked , not me so, I had to get a seat at the counter in Seattle to finish the trip everyone was very poliet
Pros: Useing both doors for loading and unloading
Cons: Getting roasted by the sun because there were no window shades. I was covered in sweat and there wasn't a dry spot left on my shirt. Why aren't there any window shades?
Pros: Flight was on time, boarding was quick, crew was very professional, great first flight for my kids.
Pros: Complimentary IPA was very nice.
Cons: Too cramped on the plane! Taking out 1 row and the arm rest against the window would help.
Pros: Good service, on time
Cons: Cramped seating, hard seats, no room for carry on under aisle seat.,.........,,..........
Pros: I had to return to Portland for a medical emergency and the check in staff were awesome. They made sure that the change fee was waived and that I was okay. I felt that they were sincere and truly cared about my well-being. That cant be faked!!
Cons: Cabin was FREEZING throughout entire flight.
Pros: I love the fact that the airplane had electrical outlets at each seat. I was able to charge my phone so I never run out of battery! The crew was very also very nice.
Pros: Great Cost of roundtrip direct flights from BWI to San Diego.great customer service. No issues with timing. The outlets on seats were great too. Would 100% fly with them again. Staff was amazing. One of our bags was a few lbs over and they let it slide with a smile, they also offered a complimentary checked bag for my personal overhead since the flight was fully booked, and I didn't need it on my flight. Baggage claim was easy.
Cons: Seats were very uncomfortable, needed more padding, and somewhere to maybe prop your foot up a few inches below the seat in front of you. Air was very dry on the fully booked flight back, my lungs wheezed after having been on groud, Which doesn't happen ever
Pros: A crew woman was nice
Cons: Another crew woman told us our flight was an hour longer than it was. We were also told to turn off our phones, despite being delayed, so we couldn't tell our rides, at the destination, that we were delayed
Pros: It was a smooth flight. The plane was clean. The crew was professional.
Cons: It's tough to sleep on an overnight flight when the seat back doesn't recline more than about an inch. It would be nice to have an entertainment screen.
Pros: everything was on time even with the inclimate weather
Pros: The Alaskan airlines staff was very friendly and accommodating. I felt as though they went above and beyond to ensure I traveled comfortably with my baby.
Pros: The captain kept us fairly informed on the issue. The crew mare a great effort to accommodate passengers with a snack and updates on connecting flight issues.
Cons: I had to sit on a plane on the ground longer than my flight was supposed to take.
Pros: Airplane was very quiet for a prop plane.
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: I liked how easy it was getting on the plane, and the smooth flight.
Pros: Everything was great!
Pros: Love Alaska and ANA. GREAT FLIGHTS.
Pros: Flight was on time, plane was cleaned.
Cons: Usually military members and family get to board first with first class and people with children but this time, we boarded with everyone else. Not a bad thing but I choose to fly with Alaska because they take care of military members and the perks they have for us.
Pros: On time, clean and comfortable
Cons: This plane was too full for social distancing. I was really skeptical about this flight as it relates to the COVID pandemic.
Pros: The crew was good, and the airline tried to make our wait in the airport as comfortable as possible.
Cons: The four-hour delay was really hard. Since it was in DC, I don't know why it took so long to get another plane.
Pros: Quick boarding process! Everything was on time as estimated.
Pros: Quick boarding process and take off. Flight was slightly late but the staff expedited boarding and take off. Staff is friendly. Service was great. Beverage service was great. Baggage was quickly at baggage claim.
Cons: Even though its a short flight better food options for First Class would be appreciated.
Pros: Crew was very rude both to and from Sydney. Always made people feel like they were a burden and they didn’t want to even be there. Will never fly Delta again, especially internationally.
Cons: Hire employees that at least pretend they enjoy their job.
Cons: We weren't alerted there was a chance of delays. Over two hours late.
Cons: The flight was delayed over two hours
Pros: Good crew, kind and hard working staff. It is so nice to have inflight messaging and that was a pleasant surprise that made the flight go quickly.
Cons: I found the delta app to be less user friendly than the United one. I wish the in flight entertainment were in the Delta app versus downloading yet another app.
Cons: After my flight was delayed for over 3 hrs - the counter clerk was rude and unhelpful. She felt it was appropriate for her to flick the customer service phone number in front of my teenage daughters. I would say avoid Delta!
Pros: Information communicated about delays.
Cons: - more communication (any!) about bag status when landed - flight delay due to too many/too heavy baggage. Long delay was said to be due to making sure our baggage would accompany destination. Upon arrival, bag was left in NYC but this wasn't communicated. No info on bag status at airport or via ema
Cons: First class seats were too close together. It was very difficult to get out of you seat into the aisle. Food was not what it should have been for 1st class There was no wall between 1st class and coach giving little privacy when I worked my laptop. it was in direct view of the middle seat in coach
Pros: The best
Cons: Again the boarding process took forever
Pros: Very good
Cons: Seat assignments should have be provided at check in.
Cons: Better food and more water.
Cons: The area in the back of the plane by my seat smelled like dirty feet.
Pros: The crew was dealing with NOVA/DC residents
Pros: Coming from Europe Alitalia and Delta did an EXCELLENT job at assisting the passengers get rid of their luggage just as soon as we were done going through customs... I don't usually fly on this route, but I thought it was perfect. Transfer between Delta terminal was a breeze too...
Cons: I usually don't fly from JFK. The food court was expensive (18 dollars base price from a burger seems a high even for an airport. I don't fly from NY normally - so maybe I need to tune my expectation for the locale, and it may have NOTHING to do with the airline company.
Pros: Crew was extremely attentive and friendly. I wish Delta's flights were this good inside of the U.S.8
Pros: The service is very good from the beginning. The flight attendant is very caring thanks so much.
Cons: The aircraft is too old, MD-88. I don't know how Delta is flying that type of aircraft. Is very risky
Pros: Another safe flight. Crew was very attentive.
Pros: Staff is friendly.
Cons: My wife's pre-check was not added to her ticket. Plane was extremely late taking off. No entertainment on the flight.
Cons: Flight cancelled due to weather that was never bad but on the potential of bad weather. Had to scramble so my 18 year old son was not stranded overnight in a strange place and Delta does not help. Only rebooked a flight itinerary for the next day for a 4 hour flight with connections on a 1 hour direct flight. Spent an hour on line to figure out what to do. #neverdelta
Cons: Plane delayed 4 times for a total of 4 hours
Pros: The flight for getting us therw
Cons: No food and no entertainment
Cons: Seat wouldn't redline.
Pros: Friendly and courteous crew, great food, comfortable seating, quick luggage retrieval. Wow!
Pros: Flight attendants were nice based on the situations beyond their control.
Cons: Flight was delayed for about three hours, due to mechanical issues with the second engine not starting. We sat on the the plane for over an hour and half. Some people that missed their connection flights were offered hotel stay. Others that had no connection flight was not offered anything for the several hours of delay that occurred.
Pros: The crew
Cons: The delay
Pros: The seats
Cons: We purchased tickets together and our seats were not together when we checked in. We had one small roller bag for the two of us and we ended up having to gate check it along with 3 other people and then there was clearly enough room for it once we were boarded.
Pros: Very professional cabin crew
Cons: The gate crew did not change seats for my family & I to sit together (spouse, baby & I, grand parents) The flight was late leaving as the troops returning home were late. That part was ok, but they could have changed their seats so my family and i could sit together. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have minded given they were all on their 4th flight if the day. It seemed that the gate crew was not budging. If my parents hadn’t had 2 seats together my daughter would have had to sit with a stranger. That’s not acceptable.
Pros: The crew was friendly, relaxed, made everything seem like a breeze
Cons: Several things. Dropping off luggage. Security. Late flight departure.
Pros: Able to download boarding pass into apple wallet
Cons: Flight was almost an hour late departing, bag is a carry on but storage too small to keep bag, then wifi didn't work the entire flight. Had to run to our connection since our layover time was taken up in Boise. If we had missed the flight, we would have been re-routed to another airport over 1 1/2 hrs away since ours closes. Next flight was not much better, oh and wifi did I t work on it also - last 3-4 delta flights I've taken have been late and didn't have working wifi - starting to think their system doesn't work at all - seriously going to take any other carrier but Delta going forward
Pros: I could be wrong, but the seats were very comfortable (for a plane) and I felt my knees weren't as close to the seat in front of me than other airlines. So that's a plus.
Cons: All was well
Pros: Comfortable flight, ample leg room, and the chairs were pretty plush. Comfort+ is pretty nice
Cons: On my first flight they forgot to turn the wifi on. I have unlim data but obviously can't use while in air; no big though.
Pros: flight attendants were great.
Cons: not enough leg room and space. The business class should be at the minimum for economy.
Pros: Flight was on time and even landed early. Boarding was seamless with bag tag. Seats were comfy. Crew was professional.
Cons: A drink with no napkins? I know airlines need to cut costs but what if I spilled my drink or want to wipe my hands after eating pretzels Delta? You can still provide napkins.
Pros: It was my husband's birthday and the stewardess (red dress, long brown hair) went out of her way to make him feel special by bringing champagne, cookies and even chocolate once we were getting off the plane. I was very touched.
Cons: The guy next to me was kind of smelly but was very nice.
Pros: The crew was polite and friendly
Cons: My second plane had sooo much moisture coming from the cooling system it looked like the passengers were getting gased and I kept getting wet from water condensation falling on me in a window seat as I tried to sleep from having such an early flight to begin with only to be told it's delayed 3 hrs without explanation.
Pros: Good seats.
Pros: Free drinks in Comfort+
Cons: See above description
Pros: Flight attendants were great.
Cons: Movie and TV selection is not great for an international flight.
Pros: The pilot gave all the information pleasantly. It was easy to find my seat and everyone was compliant with COVID-19 rules/restrictions.
Cons: Boarding process could’ve been a bit quicker. There should be free accessible WiFi for everyone.
Pros: Crew amazing!!!
Cons: Better maybe in giving drinks every once in a while like they use to.
Cons: Flight attendants need to enforce all policies. It makes no sense to enforce a seat being leaned back a 1/2 inch but allow a Face Mask be worn as a Chin Guard through the entire flight instead wearing it properly!
Pros: Great crew!
Cons: We paid for WiFi but it was not working on this flight.
Cons: The seats were tiny! I'm a big woman, but not a huge one and I struggled to get my belt on. Considering how nice their seats are, this is one of the smallest seats I've ever sat in!
Pros: The crew was great and provided a quiet environment for the red eye flight.
Cons: The boarding process needs to be reevaluated. Perhaps the plane should be boarded from the rear to the front or from window to aisle seat. These suggestions would streamline the boarding process.
Pros: The plane was a good size for that length of trip. Free entertainment options were excellent.
Cons: Had to pay $80 for an upgrade to be (fairly) comfortable for the flight.
Pros: Crew was really great!
Cons: My bag never left Chicago so I had to wait a day to get that
Cons: Flight was delayed 3 hrs
Pros: Awesome Customer Service
Cons: More space.
Pros: Easy flight. Free drinks and snacks. Nice crew.
Cons: No individual entertainment. Do not help those that are AA members
Cons: There was room for my carry on, although they said it was full and cheked it
Cons: the fact they changed my schedule and had to come in earlier customer service was awful and my luggage came back dirty and the best response was that the belts are dirty and i can expect wear and tear. not only that i had to book myself an earlier trip to pay the standby fee so i can leave the same time my brother left tsa screening had us wait 20 min before we move in the line for the fact no worker was there but one guy and i was the last person to board the plane after almost missing closing gates my expierence was awful and disrespectful
Cons: Pushy crowd..
Cons: Over 45 mins for bags to get on the belt ? Ridiculous. Won’t fly with AA again
Pros: Teeny little plane but easy (early i think!) boarding process and nice flight attendant.
Cons: We were in quite a long line to take off and when we arrived in bmore there was no one to manage the jet bridge and we sat for a little while. Seems like these issues should be easy to solve - you know when the plane is arriving for over an hour!
Cons: Same is last.
Pros: Amazing and comfortable
Cons: We left a little late.
Cons: Getting canned and put on a flight five hours later. Good job AA
Pros: I was under the weather and she was very very very helpful Mary and all AA flight attendants are great I will fly AA as often as I can because of Mary
Pros: -Efficient Boarding -Great flight attendants -Communicative Pilots (flight time, number in line on runway, etc)
Cons: Did not dislike anything on this trip.
Pros: Got two seats to myself.
Cons: I don't even know who our flight attendants were. Did we have them? Isn't that a requirement?? Guy in seat in front of me was super rude (yes, I know it's not the airline's fault.). Terrible turbulence (again, not AA's fault).
Pros: No problems.
Cons: All was well.
Cons: Have to pay for WiFi
Cons: I didn't like the fact that I was told to preboard when I checked in before the flight and was told by another employee i was in group 6 and shouldnt be in line. Had to explain why I was preboarding and didn't like having to hold up the line. It was embarrassing.
Pros: People were nice
Pros: I like the ease of boarding and the offer of complimentary check-in if the bags. I assume it was because the flight was fully booked. Overall I was pleased.
Cons: The entertainment could be better during the flight. I also don’t remember being offered any snacks during the flights either.
Cons: No carry on bags
Pros: Crew was outstanding
Cons: Hurried beverage service since arriving early. R
Pros: flight crew on my way to BWI were great!!!
Cons: american airlines does not care about the privacy of their passengers. even after several calls my information wasn't updated correctly and my flight confirmation was passed along to members who weren't even traveling. there was no in flight entertainment and in order to pick seats together i needed to pay extra (i thought i was flying with american not spirit) apparently the only way i can be helped is writing a letter to customer service which they will review within 10 business days. THANKS american for starting a war in my family and ruining my trip. unfortunate the crew is so awesome but the customer service is mortifying, rude, inconsiderate and completely mechanical. i dont ever intend on flying with them again unless necessary.
Cons: Told me that if I checked my carry on bag at gate, I'd be able to pick bag up from from the gate at the other end. Instead it went to baggage claim with took more than 30 minutes.
Cons: The departure was delated more than 30 minutes and the arrival disembarking was to slow.
Pros: the flight attendants were very professional on this flight. the lead attendant was very personable when giving announcements and going through the safety procedures on the public address system. the other two attendants were also very professional in their services as well.
Cons: flight 1920 was almost an hour late with boarding. I am extremely upset because I paid an extra $75.00 on day of to get home earlier but ended up getting home at the same time that I would have on my original flight because the flight was late and I missed my shuttle because 1920 was late boarding. I should be reimbursed SOMETHING for my inconvenience...especially after paying $75.00 extra for an earlier flight.
Pros: The plane was new and nice looking
Cons: The flight was delayed. The crew was rude . Seats were not assigned until boarding NPILWL3B. Of course they give you the worst seats.
Pros: THE SEATS WERE COMFORTABLE AND CREW AND VERY ATTENTIVE.
Pros: Ordinary flight, not too chaotic for holiday weekend.
Cons: My luggage was lost! Had to wait an entire day to recuperate my suitcases.
Pros: the flight was great and comfortable
Pros: Short flight. The crew was nice. The food and entertainment should be Not applicable because it's a short flight - I was not expecting it.
Cons: Boarding was late, very small carry on compartment - maybe because it's a smaller carrier. A lot of people had there carry on placed in a valet service so it took a while for them to get out because they were waiting for their carry ons.
Pros: I liked how smooth flight went especially after all the bumpy rides I had been on
Cons: I didn't like that I wasn't able to sit with the person I purchased my ticket with
Cons: We sat on the plane for over 2 hours before takeoff. We were offered no competition other than a quick appology from the pilot.
Pros: Got me home safe
Cons: 1st: the gate was changed three 20 mins before boarding 2nd: we were in the plane for an hr before actually flying out
Pros: Ease of travel
Pros: not beat up
Cons: people trying to get extra carry on on
Pros: Roomy seat, great price
Cons: No ice in my water.
Pros: The crew and the comfort
Cons: The entertainment
Cons: seats are terrible.
Pros: Always good movies
Cons: Overall everything is good , with the actual situation I font think is a problem with the airline or employee
Pros: Crew is good
Cons: Delay is a problem, am late for second fly
Pros: Friendly crew
Cons: Security staff short with passengers
Pros: The seat was comfortable and the crew was accommodating.
Cons: It was a mess from start to finish. Ridiculous lines. Ridiculous covid rules. They have us all shoulder to shoulder in tiny waiting areas then suddenly we get on line to board and have to stand six feet apart and then on the plane we are squashed all together anyway. It’s all so stupid. Not having the ability to get a boarding pass from the online app or printed made me have to wait in a line 300 people long to access the kiosk and then half of them were down. Then another line maybe 500 people long just to be allowed up the escalator to where there is another line to go through exuding checks. Nuts!!! My flight was an hour and I spent three hours online getting to it!!!
Pros: The crew was great as was the check in crew.
Cons: The comfort of the seat and leg space.
Pros: Love the texting notices.
Cons: It was all good!
Cons: Less people because of COVID
Pros: Friendly helpful flight crew
Cons: Entertainment wasn’t working well at all
Cons: The plane was extremely full. No chance of social distancing.
Cons: Hire better competent people
Cons: They over sold the flight. Also they had numerous passengers on the flight that were not wearing/using a mask
Pros: There were only snacks, no setback entertainment
Cons: Add a meal and seatback entertainment
Cons: Counter at Asheville, point of origin for the flight, was unattended at recommended arrival time. Attendant, when he finally appeared, seemed, to this traveler at least, unengaged, abrupt, even rude, certainly not as welcoming and helpful ad other UA counter attendants at busier airports and at more demanding times. The word lazy comes to mind. The same individual handled the gate. His demeanor there was similar. If it is UA policy to leave counters unattended, an explanation should be posted; if present policy requires one individual to handle counter and gate duties, perhaps more help is needed. This experience, all the more frustrating when a passenger ruses early so as to comply with recommended arrival and boarding times, combined with the fact that the incoming flight significantly delayed AVL to Washington depart setting the tone for a mostly mediocre experience crowned by a painful trek from terminal A to terminal C to catch the connection to PVD. Not a best effort by UA. Outstanding flight and cabin crews saved the day.
Cons: Luthsansa sent the reminder 30 prior the flight that was a delay on the flight operated by United. I called customer service they do don’t helped and hanged up twice. Finally after waiting for an hour on the airport the same flight was change 4 times more. A manager in United got us in a different flight but we arrived 40 minutes later to Madrid and missed our connection to our other flight. I had to buy a one way expensive tickets because my connection was loss due to the issues with the FL rigth from Charlotte
Cons: Aircon too cool
Pros: The crew were friendly & efficient, the flights were on time, & the gate staff kept us well informed of any changes.
Pros: The crew on the flight were very friendly, very attentive and always smiling. They took great care of the passengers and in particular a woman with a crying baby. It didn't bother me at all, but I know the parents were concerned and the flight attendants were so kind and helpful. The food was truly fantastic, and served hot and with a smile. They repeatedly asked us about water, as the cabin was dry. I would give the crew an A+!
Cons: My husband and I have not flown for several years and have always enjoyed past flights. However, it seems as if the seats have much less leg room than years ago. I am only 5 foot 4 inches, and was very uncomfortable. My husband is 6 feet tall and he was miserable. Sleeping on this 9 hour flight would have been helpful, but due to the cramped seating, it was pretty much impossible. The little pillow and blanket did help with some back support, but I guess making more money per flight is more important than comfort.
Pros: Very pleasant attentive crew and ground staff. An aborted takeoff on tarmac meant a return to the departure gate and the plane taken to maintenance. The ground staff were superb in dealing with a full plane load of passengers many of whom had onward connections. This meant we had to stay overnight and fly first thing the next morning. Full marks to United for dealing with a potentially dangerous situation and then assisting everyone back in the terminal.
Pros: For the most part the staff made an attempt to help me get onto a flight. I think.
Cons: I had to go on my trip a few days later due to a work conflict. I never changed my itinerary because I didn’t think it mattered. I bought a new one way ticket on a different airline and went to get on my return flight that I had paid for and was still receiving emails about. I got to the airport to check in for my return flight and it had been canceled because I didn’t get on the first leg. I was never notified and they couldn’t get me on the flight I wanted because it was leaving in less than hour(which is a stupid rule). And to get me on a flight the next day would cost $2500. No thanks. And before anyone tells me that it’s in the fine print that they cancel a flight if you don’t show up, save it. We all know people don’t read all that. Be a human being. So if your plans change, make sure you officially change your plans, because they may go above, but probably not beyond. Oh and it took quite a long time for them to figure out what happened. If they had realized and I didn’t spend so much time on the phone with customer service, I might’ve been outside the hour window requirement.
Pros: Very comfortable flight
Pros: Highly professional and exceptionally courteous service by the cabin crew. Professionally dressed. Organized and dilligent. Customer friendly. The way an airline owner and CEO would want to be represented to the paying customer by a frontline segment of his/her organization. Best UAL/Lufthansa experience ever for me.
Cons: The ‘third world’ arrival handling by IAD. Ragged transporters. No intercom service or effort whatsoever to advise pax of apparent problem at main terminal. Turned off transporter engine and left us on the tarmac breathing diminishing air in the module and wondering what was going on. Mobile passport service ‘not working’ at jam-packed immigration. Luggage retrieval frustrated by problems or incompetence and finally located at an undesignated conveyor area. No kudos to IAD. All kudos to Lufthansa/UAL. One Exception was my ‘by chance’ immigration agent who for the first time ever for me at IAD said “welcome home” as he waved me on.
Pros: The flight went very smoothly from start to finish
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: United has a system glitch and we were delayed. I got in around 1 am instead of 11 pm. I decide to order a glass of wine and since they don’t give receipts. I found out i was charged for 2 glasses instead of one. To top it off the co-worker i was traveling with didn’t get charged due to the inconvenience and delay. i travel a lot with United (higher status than him) and would have liked that offer (and not get charged one i didn’t order) being a mileage plus and credit card holder. I did go on line and ask for a credit and they did make it right and give me a credit.
Pros: Easy check in. Good flight. Good food.
Cons: Had anightmare will complain to united diect
Pros: They staff was friendly and they boarded efficiently.
Cons: The worst part of the flight was the fact that they have redesigned their planes. They have put the seats even closer together and their new seats are horribly uncomfortable. The seats are made out of a hard molded plastic. There is no give and they don’t form to you back at all. Their comfort level I would rank at a zero! I had thought they may not be bad for a domestic flight as mine was international, however, I also had them for a domestic and they were equally uncomfortable. I will be checking off of United on my next flight as I can not sit in a seat this uncomfortable ever again! Try again United!!! #UnitedSeatsUncomfortable, #HorridSeats,
Pros: I was separated from my 4 year old and 7 year old children as well as our husband. We bought our tickets together but we're out on 4 different rows. I asked flight attendant for help and she was rude. She talked to my husband who was further in the back and came back and told everyone it was ok for my kids to not be with their parents because my husband said it was ok. It was not ok, it was awful. After I started crying someone finally traded spots. But I didn't like that my husband's wishes over Road mine, it was misogynistic and she was a woman, a very condescending women.
Cons: That our family was separated. That the female flight attendant talked down to me in a misogynistic way
Pros: Landing in Dulles
Cons: Poor boarding - had to walk steps with luggage, board a bus and wait for 10 mins in hot weather, then had to walk steps to plane with luggage. Plane - no place for cabin baggage and people had stuffed inefficiently their bags; crew did not seem to care Crew - did not care, pointing fingers at people like they do not know English, no sense of pride or commitment in their job; they might as well thrown food at us Food - bad, lucky we were hungry Entertainment screen - not working well Flight was smooth I do not know why Lufthansa partners with United Airlines.
Pros: The flight actually had hot food for sale! The cheeseburger was pretty good.
Cons: I had a really hard time getting the cabin crews' attention during boarding for a piece of safety equipment. I hit the call light, tried to catch them as the crew was distributing headphones, and the light got turned off by an off-duty flight attendant without checking that we needed something. I got it in the end with an apology from crew but I still don't feel terribly safe Also, the paid entertainment system that my neighbors purchased seemed to be down with static for a portion of the flight.
Pros: The crew were excellent and receptive to needs on the flight.
Cons: Baggage Claim was a nightmare. I did not receive a baggage ticket when I checked my bag in London. Part of that is my fault. I should have made sure I had one. It took an extra long time to get my bag. Everyone else had left the area from my flight and I approached the counter. The attendant at the counter was rude. She said she couldn't help me unless I had the baggage claim ticket. Which I get that, but it all comes down to how she said it to me. She went over to the carousel and said that my flights bags were still going around and at that time I saw my bag. I said there it is to her and she responds, well you can go get it yourself then. Just completely rude. It all came down to how she responded to me. I was freaking out at the prospect of my bag being lost and she responded as clipped and uncompassionately as possible.
Pros: The movies were good - glad it was free and nice selection
Cons: US Pre-clearance in Dublin was ridiculous. I don't know what else to say about it. They were even holding us going down the escalator to the actual screening part. It was just one crazy queue to another. Will definitely make me think about ever going through Dublin again.
Pros: The boarding was pretty good for this flight, seemed simple enough, everyone was pleasant. And I was near an exit, which offered sufficient leg room.
Cons: I was disappointed by a few things... 1. The staff didn't much care to be there. They seemed distant and unconcerned, although their words were supportive. I just got off a flight from Seoul to SF, with United (892) and they admittedly stated that they were understaffed (which was completely fine) and their attitudes were much more supportive than that of the following team (486), a flight from SF to IAD. 2. I was surprised, that on a 5hr flight, they only offered a half bag of mixed items and two rounds of beverages. I was sure that they would feed us something. However, if it's not the policy, I get it...but I asked if they had anything I could purchase, the flight attendant points me to the menu pamphlet and says that I could choose from there. I asked for the Chilled Chicken with Slaw and she promptly lets me know that they only have cheeseburgers, a protein box and Cheese. For a person who's lactose intolerant, I was again disappointed by the service--why ask me to go to the menu, if you knew there were only three items you were offering?? So I didn't order anything. 3. The entertainment blows my mind. I've flown with you guys like 8 times this year, and the app still does not work properly, however, before every flight, someone mentions over the intercom to be sure to download the app...but if it doesn't work...why offer it? Also, if there are tvs at the back of every headrest, the least you could offer is a random movie, versus the commercials about how great the app is, or whatever was scrolling along. Lastly, please note, I was trying to figure out a way to make a comment to United...but didn't want to sound TOOO disgruntled. I'm not opposed to flying with UA, absolutely not, but if any of these things are addressed, I definitely feel you will be making a massive improvement on what seems to be an airline that I'd think twice about taking. Feel free to e-mail or call me. I don't mean to sound rude...but having flown other airlines, and knowing that UA has been around for a while, i just hoped the experience would be better.
Pros: The cabin crew themselves were great. The pilots offered my child to go see the cabin and everyone on the actual plane was great.
Cons: The United employees at check in kiosk were very unorganized and unhelpful. I was traveling internationally with a small child and had two pieces of luggage to check in. Normally you just go to the counter once and they do everything including taking your luggage once they weigh it. Instead, I had to go to the self check in kiosk, then back to the counter to weigh my luggage, take off the one luggage from the scale, weigh the second one, then go back to the self check in kiosk, then was told to take off the second luggage as well, then finally went to a second counter where the lady handwritten my luggage tags and then was told to take both pieces of luggage and put them somewhere else altogether with specific directions on where to put them. This is something normally handled by the actual employees. Also, the check in dude yelled at my kid for putting in his name into the check in kiosk while we were waiting on the check in dude to do all those unorganized activities. He claimed it would break the software if my kid were to enter his name. I have told him that no, the software will not break if my child enters in his name.
Pros: The people were very nice! The entertainment although not easy to access was free. snacks were meh but ok. They did what they could to make us comfortable after flight was delayed 2.5 hours.
Cons: The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours was out of the control of the crew. They did what they could. But the plane was cramped. Not enough space. Everyone was cramped. We missed our connecting flight they put us up in a hotel and booked alternate flights. We had to stand out in the cold waiting for a shuttle to take us to the hotel. The hotel staff said more than once they were not prepared for all of us and getting us from airport to hotel and in rooms was almost another 2 hours. That gave us 3.5 hours to sleep before we started in the next journey. Of 4 hours from take off to landing in our home city. I had to pay for my baggage to go onto another airline.
Pros: There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on.
Cons: The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza.
Pros: Found what was expected from the flight. Hats up to the take off that happened on time in a busy airport.
Cons: Aircraft is tiny and seats are narrow.
Pros: They held the plane due to delays in customs
Pros: Aircraft with old decoration. Could not see a single smile from the crew.
Pros: Comfortable and enjoyable flight, efficient crew without delays.
Cons: Poor food - even going for the safe pasta option. Very disappointing & not enjoyable.
Cons: Recent airline corporation consolidation has greatly reduced consumer choice. The surviving major airlines, in their effort to cut costs, sacrifice quality control and assurance. Pittsburgh's status as "no longer a major hub" was on full display here. United needed to have customer service agents available on site, but they did not. The review could easily turn into an essay on United's complete failure (ask the remaining passengers who were supposed to be on the PIT-IAD), but such a review would not change the state of affairs in the airline industry. I will be contacting United reps to lodge an official complaint.
Cons: After having several flights with international airlines while in Thailand for the last 2 weeks, it was quite a disappointment to spent 12 hours on this UA flight. There was a 6-8 hour period during our flight were flight attendants did not ask or even consider walking the isles and asking the passengers if they needed any water or anything else. During several flights in Thailand, the attendants were constantly catering to every passengers' needs. The difference between the flight attendants from Bangkok to Tokyo compared to Tokyo to DC was worlds apart. The Japanese attendants were as friendly as ever and took care of all the passengers needs. The flight attendants were flat out rude. There was once event on this flight that I could not believe. A child of 5-7 years old had to go to the restroom with his mother. The flight attendant was collecting trash from our meal. Even though she knew the child was behind her and needed to go to the restroom, she would not stop collecting trash, move her cart so that the boy and his mother could get to the restroom. Instead, she continued collecting trash and made the boy wait until she was done. I feel embarrassed for the foreigners who were on this flight and this was their first impression of America and Americans. The main meal that was served was a breaded chicken patty served with a slurry of questionable gravy, rice, and a roll. I received better food on multiple 1 hour flights while in Thailand. The comfort level was what you would expect from most American airlines-tight and cramped. I will never book with United for another international flight.
Pros: Once I was on the flight it was fine except for the food which was decent
Cons: On my outbound flight from IAD to BRU my flight was delayed 3.5 hours because the "plane was late to arrive". Seems like this happens a lot on United flights. The staff at the gate of Dulles airport were extremely rude and difficult to deal with, which made it frustrating to try and figure out my connection situation. I missed my connection from Brussels to Paris and had to buy a train ticket for which I was not reimbursed by United. Then, on the way back from Paris, my flight was delayed 2.5 hours for the same reason. At least this time I had a direct flight. This entire experience makes me think twice about flying United again. I live in DC and it would be just as (in)convenient for me to go to BWI instead of Dulles for international flights, where there seems to be more options outside of flying United.
Pros: Legroom and seat size were terrific. For me, movie selection was great--best of 2015.
Cons: Luggage was delayed--apparently not transferred in Munich to United flight. Fortunately, it was only a 24-hour delay and contents arrived intact. But the explanation of what I could purchase to meet my immediate travel needs (toiletries, intimate garments) was indefinite and unclear and subject to reimbursement only if approved. Boarding was subject to additional security for flights to US in Munich airport where passport was checked yet again and stupid questions were asked and passengers were shuffled through a long queue.
Pros: In flight crew were friendly, professional, helpful. We appreciated frequent offers of water.
Cons: My husband, w/ recent collarbone fracture was not allowed to board early, so got stuck in a crush. Our neighbors to the front went into full recline mode ASAP and remained there for 8-1/2 hours- we were unable to reach our belongings on the floor or exit the seats without flight crew intervention - and we are 140#, moderate height! Seats this tightly packed should not recline! Somehow watching numerous economy plus seats remaining empty several rows ahead of us while we endured this was a sorry statement from the airline.
