Pros: "Flight from SEattle to Atlanta delayed due to mechanical problems for 6 hrs. Once we got to Atlanta there were no flights connecting to Argentina until the following night at 10 pm. Delta did put us up in a hotel but with no food vouchers or any upgrades on delayed flight the next day. Flight attendants and crew were curteous."

When I asked for cognac after dinner, they told me that they are out! The offering of snacks were bad. The breakfast is nothing but sugar! The dinner could do with less carbohydrates."

In addition the crew "aged out" so we had to get a second crew - waited for that. the first plane had a mechanical, the second plane had a mechanical - more lengthy delays then finally the last plane was fine - but was again delayed by yet another hour for a total of 7 hours delay. Our compensation? Non existent."

I’ll be watching you” for simple mistakes made before door of plane closed. Tried to talk elderly woman out of tea because she was lazy and didn’t bring hot water on her cart. Eventually brought it but why try to talk her out of it. Heavy set dark brown tall Attendant on flight 5874 Mesa Airlines. Lost my luggage. More and more friends, family & 1 flight expert says AA gets more complaints. Will try booking with another airline carrier in future unless absolute emergency to take AA. Worth $40.00 or more extra to get friendly service."

Cons: "A passenger caused a delay in security, and as I'm rushing for the gate, the agent closed the door and told me I couldn't board. She then marked me as a no-show, while she was standing right next front of her. I had to spend the next 4 hrs on the phone, trying to get my tickets sorted out. Then, upon arriving at Heathrow,... No luggage. They told me it was still in Chicago. Upon finally receiving my bags, I find them full of sawdust and sand, and several items damaged. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again, and I will highly recommend to my friends and family to avoid them like them plague. Horrible service! Nothing but a run-around and not once did the agents apologise, even after admitting that my problems on this journey were due to a mistake made by one of their agents."

Cons: "The e-ticket did not include the terminal information. As it was an Iberia flight I went to the terminal 7 where Iberia operates. However, after waiting on line when I got to the counter the attendant informed me that the flight was operated by American Airlines and I had to go to terminal 8. I ran to terminal 8 but by the time I got to the check in it was 6:15 and they said they said the check-in for the flight at 7(which was actually at 6:55pm) was closed for check-in. I was lucky enough that there was another Iberia flight (this one from terminal 7) st 8:30pm and the supervisor was able to find me a spot in that flight."

Cons: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"
Cons: "had to take another flight, ticket agent was able to change me to a different flight on JAL. however, JAL could not access the ticket info and ticket agent would not take my payment. result was missing that flight, ticket manager told me it's my fault and tough luck no refund. American airlines told me the same, ended up losing my money for the ticket purchase. i booked another new flight with another airline direct. worst experience in my life using kayak."

Pros: "I loved the extra room in the seating, great seats too. Plus the personal TVs and movie selection was fantastic!!! However, 1/3 of the planes TVs did not work. Luckily, my row of TVs did work and we had an empty seat between my daughter and me , so when my son's TV went out he sat in my row which did work. Great plane, once everything is fixed!"

Cons: "The fact that AA had an issue with THEIR plane which caused me to miss an already booked connecting flight. I ended up spending SEVEN hours in Phoenix waiting for a different flight to take me back to Tampa. The least AA could do is offer to pay for my supper or even a snack ANYTHING would've been nice. It's called customer service. I understand things happen that are out of our control, I also understand what it is to help make people whole or happy."
