We were at the airport at 4:30am because the flight was scheduled to depart at 6:05am we were lucky to be able to rebook for a flight SDQ-ATL DL576 for the same day hoping to make the connection ATL-IND. Unfotunately that flight was rerouted to Charlotte due to bad weather conditions with a delay of 3 hrs before it landed in ATL thus missing our connection to INDI and had to sleep in ATL and leave the next day to IND thus missing a meeting commitment that we had in IND. We should and expect to be compensated by Delta for this."

In concept it should be a good process, but it was just a sea of people asking each other which boarding group they were in. Pros: "Flight was on time. Easy to transfer luggage from an international flight to a domestic flight. The crew was accommodating. It is such a short flight that there were only pretzels and water without ice served on this flight. There was no entertainment on this flight. Small, clean plane for a less that 1 hour flight."

Cons: "It may be La Guardia Airport that is the one to blame and not AA, but long story short I was on the airplane on the ground in NY for about 5 hours. We had a domino effect of things happen that caused us to be delayed and then cancelled. First a Gate change to a different terminal after boarding was suppose to begin so we had to take a shuttle over and we're still missing 50 passengers, Engine problem that required maintenance, refuel because we were in the plane on the ground waiting for so long, deplane and replane for 10 mins because of a law, on the runway and back to the gate for all these different occasions. When they finally let us off the plane after all these hours it was because of weather (although the skies were blue and the pilot was confident it wouldn't be an issue) they didn't actually cancel the flight until 5pm, my flight was suppose to take off at 9am. They were also required by law to give us free snacks Bc we hadn't eaten all day or had fresh air--these were all chips and soda...in gluten free so I had to starve. AA customer relations said they couldn't compensate because the issue that was documented in their records for my flight cancellation was because of "weather"... my flight couldn't be rescheduled until the following afternoon, making me have to cancel work 2 days in a row and pay for multiple taxis and and extra night of boarding. I will NEVER fly AA or La Guardia again."

My seat was broken and wouldn't recline. This was my first trip flying, and on the trip to Miami I flew with Delta. The service with them was tremendously better. I was really disappointed."

Pros: "Terrific Gate Team in Houston, who were extremely helpful with my current disability (my foot is in a walking boot). Gate agent immediately approached me once I got to the gate (via wheelchair) to see if I needed anything else. Then she took it upon herself to move my seat so that I had an empty row on the flight to prop my leg up on the flight, which was excellent customer service. She anticipated my needs & exceeded them. She signaled for me to board early, so I had enough time & space to get down the ramp. Gate agents like her are hard to find these days. I wish there were more agents like her. Flight to Indy- Plane were more spacious between the seats. My knees had 6”-8” between them & the seat in front of them. It was a new plane, so if this is the direction that United is going with their aircrafts, they will have lots of happy flyers."

Ultimately, we ended up dumping our liquids and hand carrying our checked bags to the gate. Still, 5 people missed my flight by 5 minutes having checked in and making it through TSA. The airline knew we were there and did not wait 5 minutes. They had to request a waiver for leaving so many people - which was their preferred option. After missing my flight, I had to leave the gate and go back to the main terminal to request a rebooking. Another 30+ minute wait. Apparently the line to drop the bags was also the line to rebook flights, check in, etc. There was no prioritization of check-in by flight, or clear delineation of which service positions were for what purpose. Their was chaos and a sea of angry customers missing flights and cancelling trips."

The automated scale to weigh my bag seemed not to work. An attendant came by and put a sign on it to say it is broken. Went to the manned counter and was told I was only 41 minutes before takeoff and they cut off at 45 minutes. In addition if you are checking a bag it costs half as much as the round trip ticket. I had tried to determine what the baggage rules were days ago but their lines had been all busy for long periods. Their website was useless. They told me they could rebook me only in 4 days. I asked if any other airlines were leaving earlier. The lady at the counter said they domy have any way to check other airlines. I HATE this airline and will never fly them again. You shouldn't either if you know what's good for you."

Cons: "On a perfect-weather Florida day, when no other airline was experiencing any problems, we arrived at the airport two hours prior to our flight to find Spirit's status board COVERED with cancellation and delay notices. For the next for eight hours they told us the flight was delayed, delayed, delayed, then cancelled, then that we'd be put on another airline in probably less than an hour, just another hour or so, just be patient... annnnnnd here's your hotel voucher, please be back at six am for your new Delta flight. The clerk at the hotel, the hotel shuttle driver, the Delta counter attendant—all of them were full to the brim with Spirit stories. Every single one of them shot that slightly crooked sideways grin when they heard the word "Spirit," the one that says "I've heard it a million times, man." The airport crew in Tampa tried their best... which was terrible. One would think this was the first time they'd ever had a delay instead of it being an incredibly regular experience. For eight hours, we sat on the floor and watched dozens of alternate available flights trickle away while being told by Spirit's staff that they were "on it." The entire experience was horrible even before we got to the delay. Charges for checked bags AND carry-ons; charges for every seat— EVERY seat—on the plane; a charge even for a cup of soda (our flight to Florida was only delayed, not cancelled.) And I just finished talking to a Spirit phone rep about what should have been an automatic refund for the baggage and seat fees we were charged for the flight we never took."

Cons: "Agendas were extremely rude and disrespectful. I had a family issue causing me to drive to my destination, and kept my flight so I could fly home. When I went to check in online, there was no itinerary to be found. I called, and they said since I was a "no show", it was cancelled and I could not be reimbursed. I offered to use it as credit and get a new flight, paying the difference. This request was declined. The agents on the phone were very rude. Spirit nickel and dimes you, has no available seats, doesn't feed you, and the planes are small. I will never attempt to take this airline again."
Pros: "Spirit flights are reliably on time letting me plan my connections with greater certainty, especially when coming in from Central America to the US"
Cons: "The flight was simply cancelled, blaming the weather which wasn't true. No compensation offered. Wow."
Pros: "Delay , extra charges for everything. You under the impression "you got a good deal" at the end will all the extra charges for luggage, seat, on board , fees to check in on the counter, you can check in on line but is very difficult etc."

Pros: "We had boarded the plane, but sat for a couple hours waiting for a radio repair. When it couldn't be fixed, we de-boarded the plane and waited to work with airline staff on new arrangements. I liked how patient and calm the staff was. It really made a big difference, especially when so many people were upset and frustrated. I did not see any of the staff become upset with anyone, not once. It was impressive. And I very much appreciated the arrangements they'd made for me as a single traveler and on my way home after several months of travel. I needed my space and they were so great to work with me. GREATLY appreciated."
Cons: "The length of time to make arrangements was surprising. We waited around in the airport for about 8 hours before new flights had been booked, and hotel, shuttle, and food vouchers were arranged. I understood that this takes some time with that many people. If there's any way to cut down on that wait time in the future, I know many would appreciate it. I was also wondering if the baggage fee that was charged by the new flight with United could be covered by Spirit since I had already paid the fee with Spirit...?"
Pros: "From BWI it took the agent very very long time, very surprised to pay for luggage I will not travel with Spirit Airline again"

My family had to drive 2 hours to and from the airport to come and get me again. Worst travelling trip ever. All because with no explanation; spirit canceled my flight to LAX."
Pros: "I liked the fact that they didn't cancel flights to Washington DC when United Airlines did. We were happy they still had room on their flight..but were delayed because a flight attendant didn't show up for work and we had to wait until a replacement could be found."
Cons: "The $50+ we paid to put a bag in the overhead bin ... really? Dozens of people put things up in there that hadn't paid the fee because nobody checked. I feel ripped off."
