Attendant said it was because tickets bought too close to take off don't get to pick seats, but we bought our tickets about three weeks before. Also, my boyfriend and I sat in a full row while the row in front of us only had one person. It would've made more sense to put that person in one of our seats and us in that row to give four people more space instead of just one."

Loved the seat back entertainment options, watched a movie, listened to 2 podcasts, and enjoyed some excellent blues music. All while tracking he flight progress. Made the 6 hour flight go by quickly and not mind the bumpy air in the tropics."

Cons: "My original flight from IND to LGA was cancelled due to weather and I was rebooked for the next day. I was forced to spend a night in a hotel near the airport. Then my flight the next day kept being delayed, first 5 min, then 20, then 40, etc until 2.5 hrs. Since the delays kept increasing, I decided to rebook on another flight with a very tight connection in Detroit--the only other option. When my flight arrived, the other fight was already boarding and I ran to make it. Luckily I got to the gate in time, just before the door closed. The original flight ended up with a 3.5 hr delay!!! That is unacceptable."

Fog in Chicago was beyond anybody's control, but the other times were not weather related, I recently flew frontier Air and their flights were also late. I jinxed myself by stating I never have this issue with AA. Great job at proving me wrong. I flew a good bit last year and these issues didn't start until after the new year., Thank you for your time."

But from the moment we boarded the flight attendant was unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked for help putting a heavy bag in the overhead compartment. She half-heartedly tried and then told me it "didn't fit". By simply turning it on its side, I was able to easily make it fit, but it was uncomfortable for me to have to do so while also holding my baby! The flight attendant then commented that I couldn't have the child in a carrier during the flight (something I am well aware of!). She also neglected to offer us a snack later on. Overall, she was rude and inconsiderate and made a difficult trip more unpleasant."

The fact I was forced to spend money to check a bag and given undo stress about whether or not I'd get bumped because you're not allowed advanced check-in or guaranteed seats with basic economy ticket is not right. Seems the price should simply be the cost to guarantee a basic flight (two carry-on's, guaranteed seat assignment, advanced check-in) so folks can opt out and go for a cheaper ticket on another airline that offer a cheaper fare for the above mentioned guaranteed basic flight options. Felt like a bait and switch."

Flight nk528 flight attendants and ticket agents conducted themselves poorly, customers all disgruntled and staff did nothing to make the situation better but losing their cool instead of conducting themselves professionally. Both female flight attendants were argumentative and even roll their eyes at a few of the passengers. Traveling is an exhaustive ordeal without the delays. Sarcasm was high."

Cons: "I was the 4th or 5th passenger to arrive for check in 3.5 hours before my flight, and almost missed my flight due to confusion and constantly being told I didn't have my pass, go to this line, then go to this line. It was the worst check in experience I've had in over 30 years of flying. I would never consider this airline again, even if you offered me free tickets."

Cons: "Flight crew in Atlanta didn't inform us that we could not go to Panama on a one-way ticket and we didn't find out that we couldn't until we got to fort lauderdale. The first flight to Panama was CANCELED....then, when we went back the next day to check in and get our boarding passes, we were told we could not go to Panama unless we paid for a return flight. This was our first time flying international, so we were unaware of that."

Pros: "I like sitting in an exit row seat. I don't know if I would of made it in the other cramped seats. We didn't have delays so that was good even though we heard Spirit is Notorious for delays."
Cons: "The Spirit ticket agents at both New Orleans and Las Vegas were not the most pleasant. It was like being at the DMV (drivers license place) On the first flight, the plane smelled really bad and the bathroom was horrible. The return flight, different plane, was not that way at all. It smelled nice and the bathroom was clean."

Cons: "First, the cancelled my flight and didn't contact me. I found out because I was checking the flight status. When I called them, they gave me 2 options: get a refund or flying on the next day. I had book a hotel for that night and had plans for early morning, so I got a refund. Before deciding that, I asked if they could put me in another flight, as I had seen that other companies were flying to my destination. They said "no, because the flight was cancelled due to weather". The weather was bad in Florida, and I was leaving from Baltimore (Maryland) to Las Vegas. My route didn't have anything to do with the weather. I know the plane that was going to take me to Las Vegas was stuck in Miami, but still, that's not my problem. If I was flying to or from a place with bad weather, I would be the first to cancel the trip. The weather didn't have anything to do with me. They gave me that excuse just because they didn't have another plane to fly to Las Vegas. Then, I got a refund and bought tickets from another company, and I spent 200 dollars more (per person, total of 400 dollars). If there were other companies flying the route I wanted, why Spirit couldn't? Anyway, that was the first bad impression. The second was on my way back home. This flight was also through Spirit. Back in September, when I booked the original flight, I saw they charged for carryon luggage (which is outrageous, in my opinion). I paid the fee to be able to bring a carry on with me. However, when this flight was cancelled and I booked the other one, I didn't see anywhere saying that I would pay for carry-on. Also, since the price was so much more expensive than before, I assumed carry on was included. To my surprise, when I got to the airport, it wasn't. I explained everything I wrote here to the attendant and to the manager, and none of them wanted to waive this fee. I explained how Spirit made my trip so stressful, and asked if they could understand that. No, they couldn't, or wouldn't. In the end, after a long discussion, they gave me a 25% discount in the carry on fee. As the cherry on top: there was only one person taking care of boarding, the flight attendant didn't care to explain the procedure for people in the exit row, I didn't see any food or drinks being served (though they passed 5 or 6 times with a garbage bag for trash... And no one had trash to trow away... It's a possibility that I slept, but it's odd anyway), and finally, their seats didn't recline (for an overnight flight, that's no joke). As I said in the beginning, I won't fly Spirit again, ever, no matter how much cheaper their tickets are."

Cons: "Airline charged me $100 for a carry on 20 minutes before gate closed which is ridiculously overpriced. The personnel at the gate had terrible attitudes and didn't provide real reason of the fee hike which supposedly increase every 30 minutes. This airline advertises itself as low cost airline to lure customers but with a catch ; robbed customers with high carry on fees and other non-complimentary items. With the total amount of payment I made for this airline, I would have been better with another airline that provides better service and entertainment. I will not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Cons: "Customer service.. push 1 for English.. I couldn't understand them.. nor could they understand me.."

Pros: "Didn't like: The seats have minimal padding, no "wings" /headrest feature, seats don't recline, tray table too small to put anything on, and too far away to be useful for eating. Having to purchase water is ridiculous. The fee for carrying on a bag in addition to a purse had the price of the ticket comparable to other airlines, so there was no point to using Spirit. There was no entertainment except the Sudoku that printed on the boarding pass."
