FAQs for booking flights from Charlotte to Prague

  • What are the potential layover options on this route?

There are multiple layover options on this route, but it will be down to the airline on which you’re flying. This is because most airlines prefer to have their layovers scheduled for a particular airport where they have hubs, to reduce costs. For example, if you’re flying with British Airways, you are most likely going to have a layover in London Heathrow. With Lufthansa, you can either change planes in Munich or Frankfurt. Other layover options on the route include Washington, DC, Dallas, and Paris.

  • Can my child travel alone to Prague?

Yes, it is possible to book a ticket for your child to travel alone, but you must also pay for the unaccompanied minors service if the child is under the age of 12. British Airways and Lufthansa have the service available for international flights, ensuring that your child is safe throughout the journey, including any layovers that might be scheduled for the trip.

  • Will I need a visa to fly to Prague?

A visa is not necessary for you to be allowed into the Czech Republic since it is within the Schengen area. However, there are a few exceptions to this. One, you can only stay for 90 days, meaning if you have been to another country in the region before, you will have to calculate and see how many days you have left to stay in the region visa-free. Secondly, visa-free travel only applies to tourists, meaning you’ll have to contact the embassy if you want to travel for business.

  • Is there a train from Prague Airport (PRG) to the city center?

At the moment, there is no train line connecting Prague Airport to the city center. The only public transport option from the airport is using the bus service, which usually runs from 4:00 am to midnight and can be accessed from exits D, E, and F of Terminal 1 and C, D, and E of Terminal 2. While cheap, the bus is not convenient and requires a few changes before getting to the city center. If you have a lot of luggage, you’re better off taking a taxi, which is available 24/7 from the official taxi ranks outside of each terminal.

  • What is the cheapest flight from Charlotte to Prague?

In the last 3 days, the lowest price for a flight from Charlotte to Prague was $496 for a one-way ticket and $511 for a round-trip.

  • Do I need a passport to fly between Charlotte and Prague?

KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Charlotte to Prague

  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is a major hub for American Airlines. When booking a flight out of this airport, look out for American flights because it is likely to charge lower costs and also offer more flexible options relative to other airlines.
  • Delta Air Lines and Lufthansa have free Wi-Fi available to passengers traveling in economy class. This makes them a good option if you plan on getting some office work done during the flight or even just want to stream your favorite shows.
  • For a sustainable trip, Lufthansa is a good option. Through its Compensaid program, travelers can calculate their carbon footprints over a flight and offset the carbon emissions for that flight.
  • When booking first class, American Airlines would be a good option to choose. It offers access to the American Airlines Admirals Club at CLT Airport, giving you a nice and comfortable place to relax while you wait for your boarding call.
  • When commuting to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, a taxi is arguably the best option compared to public transport. It will pick you up at any location in the city and drop you off outside the airport terminal. A rideshare service can do the same.

Delayed flight (1hour) plus a long layover after an overnight flight with no backup plane available.

We were delayed, which I think had to do with air traffic control. Otherwise, everything was great.

The boarding process needs to be refined. Sometimes the gate crew calls out the zones and then flip to showing the.zones boarding on the gate monitor display. So, unless you are huddled around the gate lanes watching the monitor, you could miss your boarding zone. Suggest the zones be announced each time a new zone is allowed to board.

The boarding process needs to be refined. Sometimes the gate crew call out the boarding zone, and then flip to the monitor to show which zones are boarding. So unless everyone is gathered around to see the monitor there is usually confusion as wi which zones are boarding.

On time flight. Seat comfort could be better in the Comfort section.

My issue was with TSA agents for delta airlines. My luggage got flagged. The agent was going thru another persons first. He took 20 min to go thru hers. I asked them to bring mine closer so I could sit down . They said you can go sit it will be fine. I said I am supposed to keep my eyes on my bags at all times. The agent was meticulously unwrapping 2 gifts that the lady had and then tried to re warp it. He was trying to be kind i get it but 20 min for me to stand watching him do that was ridiculous. It was 6 am and there were a ton of travelers. Mine was flagged for some air packed tea that I bought in Turkey. My previous delta flight and 2 others before didn’t flag it. Consistency would be nice. Also on the flight the window shades were down for take off and landing - I thought that was very odd I thought they had to remain open for take off and landing.

The flight was an hour and a half late departing which was inconvenient

Delay in SLC jammed us up in Chicago. Got caught up in rush hour traffic

The crew took good care of us. The flight from ATL to SFO is a longer one, and there were multiple beverage offerings. I like the 757's that Delta uses. Good airplane that is comfortable. I do wish Delta would separate Priority boarding from the better seats. I would gladly take a smaller seat in an open row than be jammed into Comfort just to get priority boarding, just to make sure I don't have to check a bag.

The flight was great. The gate location was way to far away!!!

Flight was good but there are way to many announcements for credit cards etc.

During booking, I kept trying submitting my payment from the Mexican website and it didn't work. After I had the idea to change it to the Canadian website, it worked but I had to be charged the equivalent of 50 CAD more. I received the clear instruction that I would only be able to check-in at the airport and that it was impossible to select a seat 24 hours before departure, that I had to pay 144 CAD to do so, although not only was I able to check-in 24 hours before departure, but I could have selected my seats for free then. All in all, I almost threw $200 out the window due to misleading information. Besides, the app kept crashing, the information to get to the gate on the app was inaccurate, my gate was switched and I was only informed once in the air (luckily I had noticed the departure pannel), I was not addressed in my language beforehand and even if I tried I was immediately answered in English (which meant the crew understood but didn't want to answer accordingly), there was only one snack & beverage service on my medium haul flight and no beverage service on my short haul flight. To be fair, the planes were comfortable, the crew apart from the language issue was helpful, dynamic and engaging, the plane was clean and the directions were clear and direct. United has a lot of potential to be one of my favourite airlines, but the devil is in the details and a lot of them missed the target.

Flight was timely, relatively comfortable, with decent entertainment and food served. Only problem encountered was with the free messaging which I highly appreciate, but it did not work from iphone to non-iphones.

Better WiFi. I cannot understand that in 2025, United is so behind on a technology that is now a necessity and still painfully unreliable, slow and keeps disconnecting.

The entertainment available didn’t work for anyone on the flight. Long 6 hr flight with no entertainment option and the staff didn’t know until an hour into the flight when we made sure they knew about it. They had no way to fix it.

Crew seemed a bit cranky. No seatback screens. But boarding was efficient and on time and we arrived early.

The worst landing I have ever had on a domestic flight. Thought we would lose the landing gear on landing in Newark. Then we spent 40 minutes trying to position the plane in the right place to be able to get the jet way to the plane. The plane arrived stopped. The announcer was that we were there. Everybody got up, then we were told to sit back down because they had to have us towed to a different position. We got towed and then everyone stood up and they told us we were in the wrong position to sit back down again, and then we got towed to a different position This did not happen immediately. It was 30 minutes while we wandered around a small section of the tarmac in Newark close to the gate, but apparently not close enough. Horrifying experience The CAB should be investigating that flight

Food was poorly timed and not good.. Hand held snacks, really. I kept asking for water and never got any. Service was rushed for a 7-hour flight.

Boarding was organized. Old plane. Seat fairly comfortable. Business Class much too large so you don’t receive as much attention as you should considering what you pay for the seat.

Boarding was organized. Plane seats comfortable and service was attentive. Food options were good.

Flight was delayed because of a bird strike. They had another plane available within 45 minutes.

You can plug your phone in & use their wifi to watch movies, etc, but the plane’s wifi was disconnected for most of the flight.

The trip was smooth but the crew were very abrupt, snatching things before finished and being quite snappy when asked questions.

Boarding: Boarding was a bit of a mess. Our tickets indicated "BC" for Business Class, but we and many others were confused as that was not indicated anywhere in the airport, so we didn't know when we're supposed to board. The airplane: The airplane was nice. However, we sat near the back of the business class cabin and the flight attendants and passengers from other cabins would constantly move the curtain (which was very loud), preventing me from fallling asleep on my 8 hour flight. The flight crew: Amazing, generally. However, they nearly forgot to serve breakfast to me. The flight food: I was able to select my meal for dinner, which was really good. Breakfast was a bit of a mess, however. The crew forgot to serve me breakfast until the last minute. Very little was available by the time they remembered. The entertainment: Paltry, underwhelming, and dated. Not one new movie was available. Bottom line: For the money, you might want to consider other options for your international business class flights.

Sat on the ground in Cincinnati for 50 minutes before deplaning

Overall fine, but the delay was annoying and the reasons for the delay were not communicated. The crew on board were phenomenal!

Boarding was very efficient. Everyone got on board and we got on our way very quickly. It was frustrating that the entertainment app was not functioning properly. I was not able to activate some of the movies offered. The crew on this flight appears to be pretty grumpy. They had no smile on their faces. I felt like they were doing us a favor for being there.

Delayed because of weather in Nashville. I think God or some higher power generally has cursed me when it comes to flying out of Charlotte on American. I'm delayed pretty much everytime. We need Team Cobra Kai types to come in and "sweep the leg(s)" of the Charlotte ops people on principle. Don't let the sweet southern rocking chairs fool you, Charlotte is a sinkhole

Long 5 hour and 45 min flight and only one drink service and cookie snack

Newark airport grounded inbound flight and only announced when the flight was about to start taxing.

love the crews and my only problem was the delay at Frankfurt was very bad. I have travelled with Lufthansa for over 30 years now and this was cost me some planned business appointment

The flight delay made the connection a bit tight but that's outside the flight crew's control.

We just made it to our connecting flight. A long, long speed walk!

We didn't get the coffee with breakfast in the morning.. 30 mins lazer I asked flight attendant why don't we get coffee now at least.. after the breakfast..she said that captain announced possible turbulences fee minutes ago, which didn't ecplain why we didn't get it with the breakfast..breakfast was very poor btw..just little pastry which you can eat in 4 little bites. Turbulences fortunately didn't even happen.. but we didn't get that more than necessary coffee in the morning after the night flight with very poor sleep.. They just served breakfast 1 hour afzer we took off..at like 11 PM.. that doesn't make sense at all.. Also, flight attendants weren't very nice..they looked like they're not happy with their job.. :/

Lufthansa still has a good level of quality compared to US airlines, especially with respect to (1) food quality - actually tasty, (2) good French red wine - free, (3) good movie selection. Also my ticket price includes 1 free check-in luggage, while some other budget airlines sneak in an extra $150 for a checkin.

I think they overbooked Frankfurt to New York and bumped me off. This changed my return travel I arrived home about 4 hours late. Almost 24 total travel time Totally unacceptable Would not travel with United

We were moved twice on flights to the point we weren’t even on Lufthansa anymore. We had to fly united. Lost paid extra leg room twice. To top it all off we’re forced to pay $375 and $275, respectively for you luggage that was considered sports luggage. We were told it would be Lufthansa fares l, from the united desk, AND WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A LUFTHANSA FLIGHT! I’ll be calling once my trip is over on October 7th to all airlines and Kayak. This was ridiculous!

Everything went smoothly and the staff was very kind. I’m glad I purchased the extra leg room for my long flight; it was totally worth it. We were served 2 meals for a 9 hour flight which I was not expecting and they were very tasty. I appreciated them being vegetarian. Customs line in Munich was long; I had a choice to have a 1 hr 40 min layover or 2 hr 40 min layover; I took the longer layover which I was thankful for because my flight was delayed 30 minutes and there’s a good chance I would have missed my connecting flight. This was my very first international flight and I would fly Discover again without hesitation. Thank you for taking good care of me!

I liked everything BUT the temperature. It was freezing and now I am sick.

I liked Quiet people around me. Crew could have helped people with overhead luggage so they aren't moving other peoples bags around and causing problems for people that had there bags there first

Moved me away from my family and refused to fix it.

I have always been pleased with their service. Would not change a thing

Seating and food was the worst we have experienced in 35 years of traveling for both personal and busines .

Economy seats felt more cramped than other flights we have taken.7 hr, painful sitting hours 6 and 7. Web site difficult to deal with. Originally put in for 1 special meal due to type 2. Meal was awful. Tried to change selection to standard for return flight, on app and website, unable to complete that action.

I was sleeping during dinner service, no one bothered to offer meal later, I remained hungry….until I got a morning sandwich!

Need to offer Better food from LAX to London Service from London to Delhi very delayed after take off.

Connection at Hethrow was horrible..We couldn't get out of the plane for an hour as they were buying people to the airport and there were not enough busses. We had 2 and half hf between flights so it was very tight. After departing plane we had to go thru security again. People with less time in between connections missed their flights

Poor all around experience. Sat at gate in Grand Rapids to Chicago for 2.5 hours. No food or water offered and no allowances to use restroom. Missed connecting flight to London and not offered any compensation including food or lodging. Not happy with AA, claims delay was weather related but no weather issues seen on radar. Take ownership for real reason behind delay which was actually the IT outage. Very disappointing and will not be recommending AA for domestic or international flights if this is the way that customers are treated.

Horrible… I was downgraded without notice, had to sit in economy and given my back injury was in pain most of the journey. I expect to be reimbursed for this inconvenience and after my return flight home, I never plan to fly with British Airways again.

Great crew and food and beverage. Seating tight but not the airline's fault. Will definitely fly BA in future!
