Cons: "Engine was super loud on takeoff - to the point where passengers were looking around worried that something wasn't right. Eventually it seemed to be switched off once we hit the clouds and we seemed to sort of coast quietly for a minute or so - also alarming to everyone judging by the non-verbal behavior that suddenly everyone was exhibiting. Then it came back on again but only at half the volume. Nothing was mentioned about it by the captain or crew so I spent the rest of the flight wondering if the engine was going to give out part way through the flight."

There was no entertainment unless you downloaded the app."

From my flight being delayed multiple times by air china to the overly packed united to the confusion of the non updated confirmation numbers or the e-ticket number. Even on the day I left upon arriving to the airport my confirmation number they had just given me after all the prior problems still didn't work. Air china had mediocre food with okay entertainment except my headset jack on the TV was broke and I couldn't watch anything. On the last air china flight from Bejing to Bangkok. I couldn't even charge my phone, watch any entertainment and basically was just stuck with no WiFi. Justfly wouldn't compensate for the changes on their end and said I myself would have to ask the airlines for compensation which the.the airlines directed me no where for compensation or even to upgrade my seat. Now I'm finally in Thailand but I'm scared of my return."

My water was poured into a cup from a big water battle. I like how Jetblue gives me a personal water bottle and a variety of snack option. I was given a "snack mix" on this flight which was not good. I hated this flight and there were NO televisions, or usb ports to charge phones. Never again. They didn't even have enough room for carry on bags for everyone. Thank god I packed light and didn't need to use that option. Good to know United Airlines has crappy everything."

Cons: "We reserved wheelchair assistance prior to the flight. We had to wait an extended amount of time to actually get the wheelchair assistance with 5 kids 7 and under. Due to the wait we almost missed our flight, we were literally the last to board the plane. We were hoping to grab some breakfast for the kids as we had a long flight and did not have time to do so because of this delay. This is why we called ahead to reserve the wheelchair. The people checking in did not seem to care about the delay and only told us to be patient. Sad, unfortunate experience with accessibility issues."

Told us our bags would be checked all the way through, and they weren't. Checked bag got lost on the way back (again, due to misinformation from United on whether our bag would be checked all the way through), and when we got them back they had obviously been rooted through, with no note left by TSA. I fly often, and this was one of the worst flying experiences of my life."

After all passengers rush through the airport to the new gate, we wait 45 minutes for them to tell us this plane won't work either. Finally, the 3rd plane we attempted actually worked and we ended up being delayed 2 hours."

The RUDE woman (poor English) with assisted boarding then the RUDE man that changed my name and my luggage he chose to send to Dayton OH -never been there in my life and he "dug" thru my luggage - as if he was searching for MONEY or GOLD -he pulled out a protein drink and I asked him to hand that to me so I could drink it as I am a diabetic - he shouted at me "I THROW AWAY'. During the two hour delay I could have used it !! Poor service I will fly American from now on !!!!!!!!!!!"

Also got complimentary directtv - nice, but doesn't make up for not getting home in time yet again."
Cons: "United sucks. I have flown it maybe 10-12 times in the past 2.5 years, mostly back and forth between Chicago and Boston. I have had only 3 round trip flights go without a hitch. Every other trip was delayed. This time 4 hours on my return flight to Boston due to a plane switch, boarding of a new plane to discover a mechanical issue, deboarding, waiting for a new plane, then boarding and sitting on the ground for another 40 min before we were able to take off. I was delayed 1.5 hours on the way to Chicago due to another plane swap (no joke). Still doesn't top but my worst 5 hour delay in Chicago on the way back to Boston because the captain didn't show up. United is atrocious and is my last choice or any airline. Only fly when I'm absolutely forced to now due to no other reasonable choices. They are below delta, JetBlue, American, southwest, and embarrassingly, spirit as well. Terrible."
Pros: "I am Brenda Crooks, Zachary's mom. I am the one that actually took the trip. I went to Connecticut to see my son, Samuel, get his white coat for medical school. I will never forget my experience in Newark, New Jersey. I met a wonderful woman named Yevette who checked in my luggage. She is to be commended on going above and beyond the call of duty. I don't know her last name. She knew I was very upset because I was leaving my 22 year old baby in Connecticut. She sympathized and comforted me. She put her arms around me and assured me that everything was going to be alright. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart. She is the true meaning of a lady. I will never forget her and thank her so very much for being so gracious and kind to me."

The United counter people are blaming it on the weather. I am sure everything was delayed by the laxadaysical baggage loader. The one person ( or lack of help loading the bags on the plane completely altered my travel plans. I requested assistance for hotel only to be told they are full when in fact several are vacant on the Internet. I should of videotaped the baggage loading in Canada, it would of went viral."

Cons: "-The 767 was old. -It did not have any power ports for my laptop or cell phone. -The interior was old and dated, reminiscent of the 1980's. -The TV screen for entertainment seemed to be smaller than a Samsung Note 5. -The seats are unreasonably narrow and not comfortable. -I had an isle seat and my shoulder width is literally wider than the seats. -Every time the isle cart went by, it hit my left shoulder. -The seats in general seating are too small and were cramped. -God forbid if we had to egress out of the plane. -There were no adjustable head rests, like other airlines have. -The Flight Attendant for my section DID NOT make me feel like I was a valued customer, even though I paid over $1500 for flight. -She scolded me for asking "Why," when she TOLD me that I needed to sit in one seat, even though the seat next to me was vacant. She literally treated me like a child. - NOT COOL. Overall, in comparison to my last international flight, I WOULD NOT recommend United. I feel like I paid too much for my experience with United. Aer Lingus has better/newer aircraft, better cabin crew, better entertainment selections to include music and a selection of movies to watch at your convenience, more comfortable seats, provide a better environment, and a better value for your experience. Aer Lingus was also cheaper. So if you are reading this, please shop around if you are considering United to fly."

Cons: "We booked these flights and made our seating assignments when we booked months ago, but all six of us (my spouse and 4 kids ages 15, 13, 9 and 7 and myself) were forced to all sit separately on our longer connecting flight and not in our assigned seats that we had booked and reserved months ago. My kids were scared to have to sit by strangers. No one offered to switch with us so at least the younger kids could sit by their parents. The steward, Tim was rude and snooty and annoying."

The staff was also a lot friendlier and generous. And there was plenty of room on the flight which made comfort affordable."
Cons: "They announced that the flight was departing from a different gate, but it wasn't listed on their website and there was no way to verify it on any screens. The gate that they said the flight would be departing out of instead still had the destination on it for the previous flight. Then, after that flight departed, it showed the destination for the next flight scheduled to leave out of that gate, not the one I was on. So frankly, a lot of people were very confused on where they were supposed to be waiting. Especially since, there was boarding for a different flight at the first gate, and no screen showing the flight that was being boarded there. So it caused a lot of nervousness for a lot of us, not being sure where we were supposed to be and afraid we would miss our boarding call."

I will be filing an official complaint due to this flight. TERRIBLE !!!!"

My flight was about 3 h delay. Instead of serving us complimentary beverage due to delay, they charged us (even water.) They tried to charge for everything. Check in at a gate would cost $10! Who does that? Never heard that before in my life. A bag would cost over $60 if you check in at the gate. They charged for every single little thing. Disgusting!!!! I almost felt victimized flying their airline. (The seats were small.) I heard one passenger said "My first time flying Spirit. It will be my last time too." I said "Amen!" I WILL NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN!!!! NEVER!!!!"

Pros: "The fare is cheap. The airplane(s) are new and mostly clean. The crew were very friendly, though, my interaction with them was limited at best. If your only concern is price, this is a good choice, but plan ahead and know Spirit's checked and carry-on bag fees (and all the other fees, such as printing your own ticket.)"
Cons: "It's Spirit Airlines. I arrived at my destination in once piece. Nothing was over-the-top good or bad. The seats are smaller than traditional. With additional bag fees, the pricing is very similar to other airlines. The seat backs are very thin and as long as there is not an energetic child behind you jumping from seat to seat (There was in my case.) this isn't much of problem. In short - I didn't die."
Pros: "Nothing--there is literally nothing to like about this airline. They display a cheaper fare than other airlines and call it their "Bare Fare" but you better not pack more than a small backpack otherwise you end up paying double the ticket price in services charges and baggage fees!"
Cons: "Spirit's endless amounts of extra hidden costs and ridiculous baggage fees meant that I ended up paying just as much for my airfare as I did to 1) check my bags, 2) print my boarding pass and 3) pay for the hidden services charges to do all of the above at the gate (instead of predicting exactly how many luggage/carry-on items and their exact weight over five months in advance of my trip, when I initially purchased my ticket online). You'll have to purchase water on the plane if you get thirsty. I would not be the least bit surprised if Spirit started charging a fee to use the bathroom on the plane! AVOID THIS AIRLINE if you need to check a bag, or if your carry-on is larger than a small backpack and/or purse! Plus, the interior of their new fleet has decreased space between rows so you have less legroom than ever (I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs--I had no room to move). And the final straw for me: I paid a premium price for a flight that left AFTER 9:00 AM. Less than 48 hours before departure, Spirit changed our flight to 6:05 AM; a time I had specifically filtered out of my options when searching for a flight! And no, there was absolutely no refund or apologies for the inconvenience."
Pros: "Our bags ended up costing more than our flight because their weight limit is 40lbs and every other airline is 50lbs so we had 10lbs of stuff that we flew in with and had no where to put because they charge so much for carry ons too. Attendants were polite but the airline even charged you if you wanted a glass of water on the flight. I will not be flying them again."

They offer no complementary drinks/snacks 5. Their seats are small, uncomfortable, and DO NOT RECLINE!"

Cons: "From the curbside to the gate you are on your own. No skycaps to take your bags at the curb even though you've already paid for bags. And even though you've already paid for bags you still have to stand in a long line at the counter to check in. This is my 3rd time flying with Spirit since 2011. I thought the first 2 trips having issues was a fluke but no, it seems fairly consistent that you will not leave on time, the staff will not be friendly and nothing is complimentary...even water! The seats are extremely small and there is no way to recline them. Some of their planes have advertisement pasted through the entire length of the cabin, the crew really pushed applying for their credit card, all snacks must be paid for I mean, the message is clear, profits first, customers are to be used to meet their goals. At the end of the day, customers are lured in by seemingly lower prices but it's all smoke and mirrors. When you're done with all of the a la cart items, the price is the same as all of the other airlines, with inferior service, in my opinion. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. I will spend my money with airlines that value me as a customer first."

The gate changed 30 mins prior to the take off time of my flight and not a single passenger was informed of this. There were no announcements made. They did not even care to change the flight information display at the gate behind the counter. While passengers were waiting to board, a jet blue crew member starts to announce boarding for their flight to JFK while its displaying spirit airlines flight to dallas. The jet blue crew has no information to provide to us. A spirit airline crew memeber SHOULDVE MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT reg the gate change at the original gate or they should remove the spirit airline flight display from the screen. And all this 20 mins prior to take off. And I was told to stand in line that was a mile long to have this simple question answered 'whats the current gate'. The crew could've been a bit more informative, less rude and more approachable."

We were going to be asked to pay $30 to pick seats to sit together, decided to just upgrade the seats $60 to both sit up front in larger seats together, so the flight was comfortable. But being asked that was the straw that broke the camel's back--I don't think we'll be flying Spirit again--I'd rather just pay slightly more for the flight and know that I'll have an assigned seat--or can get a pair by boarding togeteher."

Cons: "Seats - no recline position. I'm not claustrophobic but that flight made me feel like it. Boarding was a zoo... 3 flights from the same area. No space to stand or sit. Stewardesses walking with shoes that made loud noise and vibration every time they passed by. I was hoping to sleep during this claustrophobic and uncomfortable flight but they're loud walking woke me up 3 times. Finally, do we really need to make 15 announcements that no one cares about during the flight? Just get us there safely ... I don't need to know the weather and cruising altitude in 3 different announcements ... Also waking me up during this painful experience. Worst of all... Pros: "The actual flight was OK--but I was bumped from my scheduled flight (along w 82 other people) when they substituted a smaller aircraft; & the flight they put me on was 12 hours later!!!! Nothing like wasting a precious vacation day in O'Hare airport to make you furious!"
Cons: "I hated the fact that I couldn't check in online the day before. I must have wasted two hours trying to remember my password for their stupid Frequent Flyer club--the only allowable way to check in-- and then (after finally getting a new password & getting into the system), being told they had no current reservation for me. What???? Then, after getting to the airport & finally checking in, I was bumped off the plane & rescheduled 12 hours later!!!! I hope never to fly on Evil Spirit Airlines again!"
Cons: "Well when I got to my sit there was a person on my seat, the crew guy had me standing till every one sat down even then you think they would give me a complematery drink, no the head crew lady was rude and did not want to accommodate to my needs even after some one messed up with my sit"

Cons: "had issues booking my seats and luggage online so was charged for help at the ticket counter by the rudest woman I'll ever remember. Paid for upgraded seat on original booking and got stuck in a smaller seat on the way back. Had a comfortable seat up front and some drunk idiot wanted to talk to me so he took the empty seat up front at take off and bugged me the whole trip. I ended up paying more for this flight than any other airline and I'd rather fly with friendlier airlines in the future."

Cons: "Paid $272 for (2) round trip tickets from Chicago to Dallas. Brought (2) small bags to carry on. Once at the airport found out that "carry on" was an additional $55 per bag, and checked was an additional $50 per bag. Checked bags both ways, which took round trip fare to $472. Then found out that they charge extra to sit together. So had to pay an additional $13 per ticket per way to sit with the person I purchased the tickets for. Let's see, advertise $272 round trip, and forced to pay $524 once locked into tickets. Miserably brutal attempt at a money grab. I'll never fly, suggest, or speak anything less than contempt about Spirit airlines."
Cons: "They charge you $40 to carry on both ways if you register and purchase ahead of time, consider that when you are doing your price compare. The website is so slow to pay for your baggage ahead of time its really painful. The bigger issue is that the seats are super hard and super small and don't adjust at all! I am an average size and normal weight person, this airline is for really young and fit people . My back still hurts. Then there was some 19 year old flight attendant that thought she was a comedienne on the way back at 6am in the morning weaving a really lame jokes into here schpellio... trust me no one wants to hear that stupid stuff at 6 in the morning on a Sunday. It made her whole instruction super long and really stupid. The only way I would take this airline again is if I could put everything in a small backpack and the flight was really short, otherwise pay 30% and go with a full service airline."
Pros: "I liked getting to Chicago ahead of schedule. I like the opportunity to apply for a credit card with reward points. I also, like not getting my shoulders bumped into by the food carts."
Pros: "The crew was very pleasant and cheerful."
Cons: "They didn't do a great job of expressing that the flight was no longer delayed, it made boarding pretty confusing."
