We paid $50 to pre check luggage then have to fight for a place in the overhead storage for a small backpack and a coat because of all the possessions priority passengers bring onboard. Thanks for the coke..."

I kindly asked the flight attendant if I can take empty seat across the aisle from me and was told no without a reason. I thought we were doing social distance ,but apparently not. As for there earlier claim of no 3 seats available next to each other .. it was obviously a lie because the seats just across from me where empty. I hope not to fly on American Airlines again."

New flight delayed 3 times and I ended up being in Newark for 9 hours and got a total of $30 in vouchers, had anyone that gives these vouchers out bought anything in an airport before? And the $30 I did get I had to beg for as well. No more united for me thanks."

Cons: "The plane was terrible. The seats are so close together that you cannot move. The aisle is so narrow that one person can barely down it. Forget it if you have to pass by someone. The bathroom too is so small that you cannot move in it. It’s so uncomfortable. The new boarding process is just dumb. And to make matters worse they don’t even bother to check the boarding groups when you board. I had a person in a later boarding group in front of me and they let her on anyway — so what’s the point of having boarding groups. They should just go back to boarding from the rear of the plane first - that is the most efficient and quick way to do it. The so called entertainment is a joke. There is a very small choice of movies/TV shows to watch and that’s it. The free wi-fi gets you nowhere."

Cons: "On checking in we had to use a machine to print our boarding passes and take our bags to a bag drop in Newark. The man proceeded to put a large tray on the conveyor belt, swing our bags in the air then smash them down into the tray. This was done to both bags as if we weren't there. Had there been something expensive in there it would have been totally destroyed. He really couldn't have cared less about our bags and their contents. We were talking to a woman on the plane who was telling us that a woman a few rows behind who had a new born baby as was told she would be given a seat with extra legroom had this taken away from her to United could sell the seat to someone paying for it. The chicken and orzo dinner was absolutely revolting. The orzo was so over cooked that it just turned to mush and the chicken really didn't taste like it had ever seen a chicken. All this combined with the issues we had on our flight out show that United are scum and just see you as ££. Sorry I cant be more complementary than that, its just the truth."

They told us to go to the website to request a refund and wouldn't offer us any flight upgrades. We got on the flight and people were told not to sit in the unoccupied enconomy plus seats unless they paid for them. Pretty poor that considering there were at least 2 rows of seats available they are so tight they can't even be bothered to compensate us in a way that won't effect their bottom line. We completed the return request only to be told that refunds are not offered on schedule changes. Again pretty shoddy customer service and shows that all they are about is your money. The breakfast we had was disgusting. The melted cheese looked like someone had vomited onto my tray. On waiting for our connecting flight there was an old lady who was dumped at a gate on a wheel chair. They person then left without telling them what was happening. We could see she was anxious about not knowing what was happening. My wife went to the United help desk to ask for information for the lady's flight and was told she should just check the information board and dismissed. Not sure how an old lady who can't walk is meant to do this (this was explained to them). If United had bothered to make some kind of effort to be at least helpful in any stage with refunding / upgrading us and being helpful to an old lady maybe this review would be different. Ultimately all they care about is your money and will deliver a shockingly bad customer service wherever they can get away with it. I WONT be flying United again. I will pay more for another airline."

Cons: "United. September 14 Newark to Delhi Premium Economy Entertainment screen didn't work for 1st hour of the flight. the movie list was mediocre at best. The screen was smeared with some substance. The list of movies on the United entertainment app is great (via internet) but connectivity on this type of flight is spotty so the traveler is forced back to the antique screen plane system. Dinner. Butter chicken or vegetable options. Food was bland and very small portions for the length of flight. The snack was delivered immediately after dinner was picked up. I did not open it. Looked like a hard roll with something on it. Style of service is abrupt, bordering on rude. Uses terminology that non-US travelers from different cultures would not understand, for instance do you want "white" coffee. Asked me if I had someone at home to pick up after me as she felt she was cleaning too much off the floor. Her comments appeared to be directed at me but it was not my trash (and even if it was, a better approach would be recommended). The flight attendant realized she had gone too far and apologized. Then complained about this "route" being difficult, with no one listening. She concluded by wishing me a good flight and saying that she hoped that she had not offended me. I assured her that she had. Breakfast was mediocre. Egg with soggy potatoes and an inedible sausage. Did not see what they were offering in the veggie dish. Staff seems tired and not culturally sensitive. There needs to be some retraining and consideration given to long haul menus and entertainment. I take this flight at least once a year. It continues to deteriorate."

We were told to wait for another flight-which was scheduled to depart 3 hours EARLIER, but had yet to depart. 3 hours later THAT flight cancelled, and we were rebooked for a flight the following day. So we were out our first night's accommodations as well as transportation to/from the airport that day. The next day we boarded our scheduled flight, sat on the tarmac for awhile, then went back to the gate and de-planed for some unknown reason. We were then re-booked on a different airline. THAT flight was then delayed, which would have caused us to miss our connection to EDI. The ticket agent worked for an hour to find us a flight to EDI that wasn't going through Newark (delays from hell) or Chicago (weather from hell). She finally put us on a flight with an all-too-brief layover in Amsterdam after a connection in Detriot. At this point we have boarding passes coming out our arses, It's 5pm and I haven't eaten since 9am, and we're STILL not out of our departure city. Our projected arrival time was going to cost us ANOTHER night's accommodation, as well as cause us to miss previously paid for engagements. 2 more delays allowed us to finally land in our destination about 40 hours after our original itinerary, with no apology or effort to amend the situation in any way."

Cons: "Original flight booked was for 1:30. Week before changes to 5:30. Then 6:30. Arrive at the airport and flights delayed to 7. Then 730. 8. 830 etc etc etc til 11. No explanation. No food tickets. Rude responses like this gem: pointed out how long I was waiting with no word --> told by a united employee that he's been there since 7am. I point out he's bad to be there. He says he's not. I guess a united volunteer then? Then only handed out water since 'it's a short flight'. Useless."

There's suppose to be an option with mobile devices but when you make the ticket purchase it only says that entertainment is included in longflights and it is not. I paid for the entertrainment system but you have only some options and the movies start according to their own schedule so you can't really pick what you want to watch. And the directv remotes are not set in a good place, the are in the arm rest, so everytime the person next to you moves the wrong way they change your channel or turn the volume down or something else. For such an expensive and long flight the tiny space between chairs and entertainment lack is unacceptable."
Pros: "United now has small mattresses to put on your lay flat bed in business class. Very comfortable! For once they had my first choice for lunch and it was delicious."
Cons: "The seats are lay flat beds. However they are very narrow especially where the feet are resting. If you are over 5ft10 it's too short a bed. You feel that your feet are pressed together when you sleep. Also no seat level storage space. Seats are narrow and are almost impossible to sleep in resting on your side. Would suggest united try out the Emirates airline business class seats on the A380. The British Airways business class seats and New Zealand business class lay flat seats are also much nicer."
Pros: "Nothing to like. 6:00pm flight delayed and kept rescheduling takeoff. Boarded plane about midnight and after ninety plus minutes we were made to deplane because current crew was over their allotted airtime. Kept on plane awaiting a new crew but they couldn't get them so flight cancelled. Attendants told us we would be compensated for cancellation. A big airline like united should have a better grasp on scheduling flight crews and stand bys available instead of putting us through this hell. No hotels available so we all had to stay overnight in uncomfortable chairs with many sleeping on floors. I felt bad for myself as a 69 ur old woman with some health issues but felt even worse for the parents flying with little toddlers who just wanted to go home. The day of my flight Denver had 8" of snow that stopped by 9am yet I couldn't get a flight out till the following evening. Psp to Denver to Newark should have taken six hours but took me over 38 hrs of travel time. Denver should be used to snow and 8" shouldn't cause such extreme disruption at that airport. And united needs to better coordinate its flight schedules and working crews. I will be contacting customer service regarding compensation as cancelled flight was due to company musmagent. Finally it would have been nice if united opened its club to the travelers who couldn't get hotels. Sitting in a comfortable place would have been so much better especially to the elderly and small children traveling. Thank you"

You should at least be allowed a voucher for the amount of the ticket at a later date. Even if it's a percentage off, you should be allowed something. How is it that you can buy a car worth thousands, and be allowed to return it under the Lemon Law. When a company called can make billions of dollars doing this, it's just taking advantage of the little people."
Cons: "First when seated there was no room for even my purse in the overhead storage. I had to hold everything in my lap. My ticket seats were separated when I was sure I booked the seats together. The blanket given to my seat was in package but was used and very vile smelling. The flight attendant was very rude, had an attitude when I asked for a drink after I wasn't offered one. When landing and I was asleep, flight attendant hit my head to wake me up to adjust my seat to the correct position rather then in a polite way. Also luggage was not with the rest of the planes luggage and on a differnt carousel. I travel often and are use to glitches, but when cleanliness and attitude come into the picture those are things that can be controlled. I wish to no longer travel with United again."

I feel like it was the worst customer service and while I realize the lady I spoke to was probably not the one responsible for the captain being Mia she could have been more kind and more helpful by 100%"

The seats are tiny the trays are tiny, they don’t have TVs, seats do not recline. First and last time Flying with them. My bags were 42 pounds and 46 pounds and I had to pay and additional $30 for each of them."

Their next available flight was for Wednesday, August 7th. We asked if their were any other flights going to FLL and she said she couldn't help us with that. She said we would have to go upstairs and check for ourselves. We asked for the manager and she's said "she's on her way". A man came and told us that whatever was under Spirit Airlines was the only thing we can refund to you. My brother asked the lady "I thought you said the manager was a she". The lady goes "we have two". My brother goes "well, can we speak to her?" and the lady, in a very rude tone goes, "well do you want to hear the same thing twice?" The only reason we argued back was because that lady was extremely disgusting to us. The lady claimed we got an email sent out to us saying our flight was cancelled and it was not. We showed her our phones too. She said "how do I know that you're not lying about the email?" Anyways, we got refunded on our tickets but the reason we were going was for a game the next day (Aug 5). Those tickets are nonrefunable and Spirit Airlines is responsible for that because this was caused by them. We also rented a car for the days we were going to be there, which I also think they're responsible for. The game tickets were $65 each and it was 4 of us. The car rental was $97. All that money went down the drain because Spirit Airlines cancelled all of their flights. I emailed the car rental place and we couldn't get refunded and the guy said that it's the airlines fault for cancelling the flight and they should pay for everything. I will definitely not recommend this airline to anyone. Moral of the story, SPIRIT AIRLINES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING! Soon, this Airline will be out of business. Cons: "im not one to complain but Wiskey Tango Foxtrot. I show up to the gate and they somehow canceled my reservation and gave my seat away! They put me standby on that same flight. We get to the gate and it's delayed an hour. After an hour it gets canceled because the flight attendants all called out!!! Seriously. Go to the front they put me on the next flight at 6pm (8 hours from the original flight I was booked for) That one gets delayed 2 hours and at this point the plane is over booked so I figured I'll just give up my seat and fly another day. Go to the front counter dude says the next available seat is in 12 days!!! And even if I want to change my flight the manger is on break. He turns to the guy next to him and in Spanish asked where she went and he said she went to the house. She is the only manger in the airport that has a code to change anything including giving my money back. So I book a flight with United and go back to the house. Worst experience ever. I'm in the military and fly constantly and have never had this horrible experience."

I ended up paying more for my seats thinking I they were going to be more comfortable but they were all the same except for executive class (or so I think its executive). So in conclusion I ended up paying almost the same that I would have paid should I have chosen another airline with bags included. Also the seats are DO NOT recline which sucks big time."

Cons: "It was a terrible experience!!! Stinky way to end a vacation!! From the moment we entered the terminal, SPIRIT handled everything poorly. They had 5 agents working to handle 5-6hundred passengers. There was only one agent walking the floor answering questions. He was nice enough to me but in his frustration, he was very rude to other passengers. People were getting nervous that their planes were boarding and they still hadn't checked their bags. This caused people to try and cut in front of other people in line and of course those passengers became angry. After finally getting through that mess, we got to our gate in a different terminal (which was also confusing because our boarding pass said terminal 3 which we went to first only to find out that we needed to go to Terminal 4 to check in and then walk over to terminal 3 to board). Once we boarded the plane they told us that the computer system was down so they could not put in their flight planes so they let us off the plane. We re-boarded the plane and finally landed home around 2:00 in the morning. By the time we got our luggage and drove home (20 minutes) it was 3:15. Overall Stinky!!!!!"

I paid almost $300 for my flight just to find out the night before that I had to pay an additional $142 for my seats and bags. Water wasn't even free! Flight was late departing but arrived On time. On the way home I got to the airport 2.5hrs early even though I checked in the night before just to be put in a long line because spirit appeared under staffed. The Spirit agent took our long coiled line and put us outside in a straight line...in the cold and rain! While in line, a Spirit passenger was visibly and audibly crying. A few other passengers including myself tried to help her. We informed a near by agent who also saw the crying woman and told us "it's not my job. She's not my concern." The lack of care and customer service was ridiculous. Not only will I never fly spirit again but I will encourage friends and family to boycott them as well."

NOT! made that request 6 times before I waited 30 minutes to get a rep on the phone. Was told I had to sign up to be a Free Spirit Member to get my boarding pass. No where does it say that that is what you had to do . The rep asked if I had booked through them? I told I booked through Kayak and he gave me attitude. Kind of huffed and I thought he mumbled "you get what you pay for" So I signed up and got our boarding pass. Coming back AGAIN we couldn't get our boarding pass. The rep at Cabana Bay got a Spirit rep on the phone I told her I was a Free Spirit Member and I gave her my member # and she me told I didn't exist in the system, but she would send me an e-mail to change my password Of course that didn't come through. I put Sara, from the front desk, back on the phone and between her and the rep we got our boarding pass. We started our vacation upset and aggregated. Ended it the same way."

Ended up paying almost as much for the bags as we did for two round trip tickets! They offer cheap flights and then charge you big bucks for every thing else...classic bait and switch!"

Cons: "First of all, the flight was delayed by more than 4 hours. Had I been notified of this, I wouldn't have had to get up at 3:30 AM to get to the airport in time. I signed up for the email notifications and am a Free Spirit member- none came. Second of all, the airport was in complete chaos. In fairness, there had been a shooting in terminal 2 the day before, but there was no organization, no one to ask about which line to stand in, etc.. A couple of employees with megaphones would have gone a long way. Third of all, the gate agent boarding the plane was the definition of rudeness and snarkiness. Fourth of all, while boarding the plane, and elderly man became unresponsive and had to be wheeled off the plane. Again, total chaos, no announcements. The man fell out of the wheelchair and expired on the jet bridge- ok, beyond Spirit's control, but the way the gate agent and flight attendants handled this was disgraceful. Fifth of all, we all had to disembark, then line up to board again, then they cancelled out flight. 6th- we were instructed to exit the terminal and rebook at the front desk. People ran like the starting gun had shot at the olympics. When I exited the terminal, we were met with a wall of people- total chaos- no one directing traffic- agents yelling at us- we were finally directed to line up outside in the hot sun (wearing black winter clothes) and proceeded to wait for over 4 hours. I didn't even get close to the desk- I booked a return flight on American for $430 out of Miami because people who were able to reach Spirit via phone (I was on hold for over 2 hours before my phone died) were saying they couldn't get us back to NYC until next week. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach Spirit to refund the money for my carry on bag."

Cons: "Spirit is HORRIBLE. They herd you into the plane like cattle. I'm a female of average height/weight and I was cramped. There is absolutely no room to move. The seats are so thin you can feel every movement behind you. There is no food, wifi, or in flight entertainment. They rob you with a $55 fee to carry on a bag. It is $3 cheaper to check one. They cancelled my flight and would do nothing about it, other than give me a partial refund and a coupon for a hotel. A coupon!!! They wouldn't even comp me for a hotel. Customer service reps were extremely rude after me waiting on hold for over an hour. Never again."
