in plane service was very poor, never got asked if I needed anything else. Also, I miss the days when during the boarding the gate agents would actually acknowledge your presence not only stand next to the machine.

He then proceeded to print a boarding pass that wasn’t mine and load my bag into the conveyor. Not 5 mins go by when I realize what happened I wound up having to go to special services to rectify the situation. Which ultimately consisted of me waiting another hour in LaGuardia to get my bag. Please delta have these curbside handlers actually want to do their job and stop chasing cash tips."

The staff was clearly overwhelmed and focused on moving us along (Cheryl) rather than resolving our need to reach our destinations.it wasn’t until we found one extremely patient and persistent employee (LaShondra-?) who booked us through NYC rather than Atlanta so we reached Rochester on the same day. So the questions are- why don’t the airport hold a larger inventory of parts, why aren’t there back up planes and why doesn’t the software better cope with these types of situations?"

Plane itself was very modern and surprisingly comfortable, as much as a small space can be. Good amount of entertainment, and the crew were pleasant. And flight itself was smooth with very little turbulence which helps!"

However, I was not the one canceling the flight and re-booking - that is their problem and after so much loyalty for years I feel like I should have gotten some kind of upgrade for free...If I have to cancel - I have to pay fees - but if they cancel - I lose ...despite being a very loyal SkyMiles customer. I am quite disillusioned with Delta now and will have to look around to see what other airlines there are now - and my entire family - and what kind of loyalty they give to their loyal customers. Pros: "The crew is always wonderful. The complimentary beverage and snack really makes the flight better, even in the tiny seats. The flights with tv screens and charging ports are great, although they only seem to be on my shorter of the two connecting flights."
Cons: "Crew allows the first zones to place both their carryon and personal items in overhead storage, filling the bins before many travelers board the plane. We are then asked to check our bag, and are forced to put our 1 bag between our legs, whole many people stored two overhead. Flight was delayed a few minutes and time was not made up in air. Delta changed a few of our flights before we were even off the plane, while other passengers were allowed to keep their original flight (originally we all had the same connecting flight). Looks to me like they overbooked and pulled some of us randomly. Also, my checked bag was sent on wrong plane, and sat unattended at next airport for 2 hours."

Pros: "Our Delta plane was brand spanking new. Everything worked and the inflight entertainment system was fantastic with many movies to choose from, free headphones, games, tv shows, etc. The crew was polite and the seating at least as comfortable as expected for a 4 hour flight."
Cons: "The restrooms in the rear of the plane were remarkably small, even by airline standards. I'm a somewhat larger person and I fit, but I know a lot of people who would literally not be able to fit on the toilet without touching both of the sidewalls or risk getting stuck in there. The boarding process at San Jose Del Cabo was the most ridiculous setup I've ever experienced. There were numerous flights boarding out of the same gates and at least 3 or 4 lines for different destinations forming on a ramp just outside the gates. There were guys with signs trying to herd people into the correct lines and then loading the people onto buses which took you out to the planes. The planes were loading from both the front and rear doors and people were getting tangled up inside because of the haphazard loading process. Very easy for a person to end up on an incorrect plane!!"

Cons: "The crew forgot to turn the heater on in -3°F creating a situation where the lavatory water lines froze. This caused a two hour delay which made me miss the second leg. Because I missed the second leg I was put on the very last flight out of ATL and got to spend Xmas eve in the airport."
Pros: "On two of the legs of the trip they notice I was a tall person with long legs and upgraded me to seats with more leg room!! I didn't even ask. Thank you."
Cons: "On the way back there were open seats with extra leg room and I asked the gate attendant if it was possible to switch my seat to one with more room and they said they only could if I paid extra."

There was a ton of movies from the 90s and the same movie selection from about 6 months ago when I traveled with them. Also, what is going on, with having to use your own cell phone to watch movies on the plane? Whatever happened to the screens in the backseat of the front seat? I ended up with neck pain from trying to watch a movie on my phone. Delta has become very cheap. It is going into some serious decline."
Cons: "Let me just say that I’m a loyal Delta costumer until now. The flight attendants (the two women) were an absolute nightmare. They were so rude and condescending. I was carrying with me my service dog and a bag containing an expensive medication (it couldn’t go on the top bin). Despite being in the comfort class and having the seat next to me empty, we were tight for space. The flight attendants were unreasonable and forced me to put my medication on the top bin despite the fact I had told them it was extremely delicate, that it that to go upright, and that I needed to keep it with me. They did not listen and pressured me into giving them the medication. The medication could have easily gotten broken. Thankfully it didn’t but this is no way to treat a human being."

But we had a lot of unpacking to do before checking our bags so we politely declined three times. On getting to our seats there were at least 8 open slots for bags near us. I heard a crew member call forward to say "tell them no more rollaboards" so they forced everyone left to check. On departure they slammed shut several very large empty overheads. WTF"
Cons: "the older stuardess on my flight from Cancun to Atlanta was very misinformed- told me my carry on wouldn't fit in the over head bin... it did. Told me I had to check my duty free liquor.. I didn't. Told me I couldn't bring all of my liquor in to the US... I could. I just kept saying ok to her just to shut her up, but she ensued with her comments and wrong info as if I don't travel as often as I do. Perhaps she was attempting to be helpful, but it came off as obnoxious and rude especially since she was wrong on every accord. Humbleness and customer service training would do her very good. All other DELTA staff have been great."

The first leg of the trip, flying from ft Lauderdale to atlanta was ok except for the pilot having to circle around bc he was too close to the airplane in front to land. This made us supposedly late to our connecting flight which by the way was not supposed to leave before 8:10. My husband and I arrived at the gate about 10 minutes before only to be told that the door was locked. Needless to say, we weren't the only ones. When we got up to the desk, the attendant was extremely rude. I was having a conversation with my husband about a dog that had just passed us . She immediately made her way into the conversation asking me what i was saying. I told her I was talking to my husband about the dog and under her breath said : " I'm sure you were." I then told her that i was more than sure about what I was talking about. We get booked on another flight and my seat was the only one without a working monitor. We asked the suitardess to see o If there was anything that could be done They tried to reset it to no avail. Since we didn't say anything else, it was forgotten about. My husband shared his screen with me so that I wasn't totally bored on the flight. Not the way I wanted to start off my birthday but I'm glad that nightmare is over Delta really needs to retrain their employees on customer service bc it leaves a lot to be desired!"

I waited 55minutes to check my bag, as they kept moving the ski priority people, and people in danger of missing their flight, to the head of the line. There were obviously not enough Delta workers on staff to process all the flights at that time."

Cons: "The redesign of seats means that very few of Delta's planes can actually accommodate a sherpa-style pet carrier, even though they are an industry standard for in-cabin travel. Further complicating the problem is that the clearance under the seat varies depending where in the cabin you're seated. It's become an extremely stressful proposition for which I have the privilege of paying an extra +$100 each way whilst having to give up one of my carry ons. As far as I can see, the charge is just straight up greed, since no one would be able to use the space beneath the seat in front of me, anyway, and carrying on my cat cause zero extra work for the crew. I'm going to have rethink my loyalty to Delta. At least with Southwest, they'll let me check two bags for no additional cost."

Cons: "Delta Flight #1661 I paid for 1st class. My first flight was late so I arrived at the gate after boarding began. When the gate attendant scanned my ticket another printed. When he handed me the ticket my seat had changed to seat 25E. I told the attendant that I had paid for first class. He asked me to step aside while he contacted his supervisor, Joe. Then I had to wait until ENTIRE flight had boarded which defeated part of the reason I paid for the upgrade. This was on top of the fact I was so thirsty because 1st flight didn't have drink service and because it was late I had to book it to the connection arriving sweaty, hot and needing to use the bathroom. I was told they had given my seat away to someone as a free upgrade. Joe offered me a $100 voucher to take other seat which was less than I paid for 1st class, plus the seat was a middle seat in the rear of the plane. When I told him as much, he tried to manipulate me by telling me that they would have to kick someone out of my seat. When I declined the downgrade, they made me stand by while they kicked someone out of my seat which was embarrassing and humiliating. Then, when they handed me a new boarding pass, it was not the seat I had paid for and selected, instead it was in the first row, which I’ve always hated because there is no under seat storage and I cannot keep my backpack with me. When I pay for first class, it is primarily so that I can board first and so that I have extra room to work (which I need access to my bag to do). While I was trying to take out the minimum of the things I needed from my bag and figure out how to manage without it, 3 times a flight attendant told me they had to take my bag (since I was the last person to board they tried to prevent me from using the bathroom and they were anxious to leave early). I tried to explain that Delta had prevented me from boarding earlier and that they gave away the seat I paid for which was NOT the first row."

We were ignored when handing out snacks, probably because we were invisible behind the seats pushed in our faces. It was one of the most miserable flights I’ve experienced."

The plane was old, but also poorly cleaned between flights, so the bathrooms on our LAX-Atlanta flight smelled of urine from minute 1--you can imagine how they smelled by the time we landed. There was trash in my seat-back pocket when I took my seat. Supposedly food was available for purchase, but I couldn't activate the food menu, only the drinks menu, on my little seatback screen, so I just waited until I got to Atlanta to eat."

On the way from Denver to Miami we were on an old plane with no entertainment and old uncomfortable seats. If this is going to be the case, charge me less up front as well. My daughter had a terrible time for a 4 hour flight."

Even more strict that Spieit airlines and higher prices. They didn't even bring around drinks because of "turbulence" unless you were first class. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."

Cons: "This was a long non-stop flight from Miami to Denver. Over 4 hours. So I took the plunge and bought first class. I always fly first class on any flight over 2 hours. However, I was disappointed. The food was so-so and insufficient. The drinks were also not enough. The video displays were small and poorly located for the movie. The seats seemed uncomfortable. All and all I have come to expect a better experience from American Airlines in First Class. The ticket was expensive."

Cons: "We boarded the aircraft and then sat for about 20 minutes. Finally the crew said they were waiting on additional crew from another flight. About 10 minutes later five people boarded the plane, but they were not crew members. The attendants took their boarding passes and then had to ask the same people to identify themselves so they could be verified as correct passengers. The end result was that those who boarded the plane properly had to sit and wait for over 40 minutes before the plane was even pushed back from the gate. Poor handling of a late flight with no explanation as to what was causing the delay."

Cons: "We landed in Atlanta around 10:40 and sat on the Tarmac for 45-50 min. The pilot said we would be getting a gate in 10 min and that was not even close to true. I am sure there are rules about using using other gates. But I don't understand how we have to sit on the tarmac for almost and hour. It was just frustrating."
Pros: "I haven't flown in a few years. That said, I forgot or was unaware that a discounted ticket didn't come with anything that I probably would've called normal inclusions to a airline ticket. For example, the checked bags, carry on bags, beverages and pretzels are addional charges. Seats are closer together and pretty uncomfortable. So I'd probably think about an airline that could group the things I'd call normal. A la carte travel for me is a bit of a hassle. At the end of the day, I got from A to B and I'm safe and sound."

Cons: "Actually fell short in all categories. Overall experience I had to sleep on an airport because of Frontiers poor logistics. Boarding took over an hour, the crew was kind of useless, and they still charged outrageous for food and drinks despite making most of us miss connecting flights and shuttles. When I got off the plane, things got even worse. It took over two hours for our bags to reach the carousel in Atlanta, and the Frontier staff was starting to get snappy and rude to all the people around me asking about their bags. I missed my shuttle and slept in Hartsfield Jackson for 5 hours until I could get a bus home. Never flying Frontier again, hopefully a new customer reads this and thinks twice too"

Myself, friends and family will never fly Frontier again. Truly disappointed. I had to leave my animal (dog) in Denver with friends."

The flight was very uncomfortable. I was given half a cup of water and then denied a refill. The cost of the flight may seem very cheap initially, but be aware that you have to pay to pick your seat and then pay for either a carry-on or checked bag (note: a carry on is actually more expensive than a checked bag) Overall, flying Frontier was a terrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone."

I watched my flight say on time and then our time passed and then was deleted from the que on the board. No one informed us what was going on. We were moved to three different gates. The employees of this airline need to be retrained immediately. If i were the CEO I would close immediately and focus on training, customer service and communication. I will never fly this airline again and I will advise every single person I know to fly a different airline."

Its as if the marketing concept at Frontier is to make things as unpleasant as possible. The only reason for flying Frontier these days is if its the only flight that will work based on your schedule."

Then we sat in the plane for an additionaL HOUR for a "mechanical issue".... which appeared to be them filling up the plane. I am so highly dissatisfied that not only will I never ever book frontier again, but I made sure to review the company in social media and all my friends/family/clients. I don't pretend to understand the airline industry, but I do know BAD BUSINESS when I see it. Absolutely TERRIBLE."

Pros: "The staff on the flight were delightful. The flight attendants were both courteous and helpful, and I will recommend Frontier to others because of that. The seats are comfortable enough, and the plane was clean. I have flown with Frontier many times and I will continue to do so."
Cons: "Boarding was a nightmare. Simply put, the staff at the desk just did not have it together. When waiting at the gate (about an hour early), I observed three staff members at the desk next to where I would be boarding. A disgruntled customer was making a fool of himself at the counter, so a supervisor was called upon. When the supervisor shows up, two of the employees that were at the desk seemed to disappear. The disgruntled customer started acting even more irrational and was told to leave; all of the passengers were relieved to see this because the guy looked insane. Then, there were two small children that had been on a previous flight that needed to be walked up to security to meet their parents, so the supervisor walked away with the children, leaving one lone employee at the counter. This all occurred around 11pm; the flight was scheduled to board at 11:24pm. By 11:45pm boarding had still not begun. The scheduled departure was 11:59pm. Finally priority boarding is called at around 12:05am. I patiently waited to be called next because I had paid for a carry-on bag and had "Zone 1" boarding. Instead, all of the passengers lined up and the employee just started letting everyone on the plane regardless of boarding zone. After about ten people board, she gets on the microphone and says, "Oh yeah, zone 1... and zone 2 and zone 3 can board". There was a pause, and then, "Zone 4 can board now". If I am going to pay so much money for a carry-on bag, I would at least like to board first like I was supposed to. These were unique circumstances and the employees were courteous throughout the whole ordeal, but they could have handled the situation much more effectively. They ended up looking disorganized, flustered, and unprofessional."

Cons: "Almost missed my flight because there were so few attendents at the baggage drop. I waited 38 minutes just to drop my bag (excluding wait time to lrint my boarding pass). The attendents were rude. I was charged 40 dollars for a carry on bag. The seats were horrifically uncomfortable. I was given half a cup of water only on the flight. The lights were on and bright throughout the entire overnight flight. The seats don't decline, nor do they have much cushioning. Honestly, everything was so disorganized that when it came tome to land, I was scared it might be the last breath of my life because the quality of servuce had been so bad, I wasn't sure if the pilot was even certified to be a pilot. Luckily, I did not die. I will never fly Frontier again and am far less likely to use Kayak because of this horrible flight."

Pros: "It was an OK flight. Everything is a la carte. I didn't realize this because I have never flown frontier before. I was traveling light anyways, so it did allow me a cheaper flight. I mainly picked them for the departure time. In the future, I probably would pay the 49 bucks for what they call "the works". It bundles a lot of their a la carte services into a better deal. We did catch a tail wind and turned a 3 hour flight into a 2 hour flight. I guess the upside to the paid carry on rule was that there were a lot less carry on, which made boarding and exiting the plain easier."
Cons: "They want you to pay for everything. It does keep you from paying for stuff you don't want or need, which is good for me, but it would have been very bad if it had been my wife. I guess it is OK if you are aware of this, but I didn't realize until after I bought my ticket. You are allowed one personal item for free, but carry on and checked baggage are extra. Again, I only had a backpack ( personal item) but if my wife had been with me, it would have gotten expensive fast. The crew was kind of snippy. If you want food or drinks you have to pay with your credit card. Entertainment was non existent other than the in-flight credit card sales pitch."

The plane was totally loaded 40 mins before the take off time, making it difficult to get pre purchased food. I arrive at 10:15 and everyone’s getting on the plane that’s scheduled to leave at 11:05."
Cons: "There was nothing to like about this trip because the website would not send me a boarding pass although I checked in online twice the day before, so I never had the opportunity to even get in the gate. I asked for a boarding pass through an email and it didn't come through, twice. I did not think much of it because I have had problems receiving emails from Spirit in the past and I have always been able to log into my account and access the boarding pass on the website. The morning of the flight, the website locked me out and wouldn't allow me to log in. I actually had to leave the security line to try to sort the issue out. The kiosk at the airport told me I was at the wrong airport (I was not). I went to the front desk and the agent was SUPREMELY unhelpful and unconcerned, and marked me as a no show at 7:05 for a flight leaving at 7:25. Even though I was standing right in front of her. Even though I had left the security line to deal with the issue. I had to get to my destination that day, which happens to be the reason I bought a ticket in the first place, so I had to spend an additional $500 on a Southwest ticket because the agent at the front desk of Spirit said I had no other options with Spirit that day. I called customer service and despite escalating the issue to a manager, I was essentially told "sorry for your luck" and sent on my way. The manager even asked, at the end of the call after telling me a refund would not be possible, if I wanted to purchase an airline ticket while I was on the phone. I have bought a fair number of Spirit tickets in the past. I unfortunately already have a ticket lined up with Spirit Airlines in November but I will never be purchasing another ticket from this airline again. It was an absurd scenario - I paid for a ticket and was not able to redeem the ticket I paid for - and I should not be have to pay the price for Spirit Airlines having poor IT."

Cons: "Customer service personnel at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport were disinterested and unfriendly. Processes seem unorganized and no one appears to be in charge. One person in particular who was calling out cities to customers standing in line in order to move them to an agent quicker due to them being close to the boarding time had horrible body language once he identified the people in the city he called out. He looked disgusted and was shaking his head and acting like they committed a crime. The opposite approach could be to be friendly and just go with the flow, it won't be the first or last time you will have people running late in an airport. On top of that, no one is perfect and I would bet every dollar in my savings account that he has been running late before. I hate Spirit and would never fly with them if I wasn't forced to based on job requirements. I'm honestly surprised Spirit is still in business. Remarkable."

I had to cancel and fly with Delta. The next dayI had to go to retrieve my suitcase from Fort Lsuderdale. I ended up flying into West Palm Beach. I will never fly Spirit for any money ever again. The hidden costs are ridiculous. I had no choice but to buy a seat because there are no free seats. That flight costed more than double the original cost."

Cons: "They delayed our flight twice, then ultimately cancelled the flight. Problem is, we drove 9 hours from Salt Lake City to Denver in order to get these cheap flights. We were headed to visit family and had things scheduled for the next day, including tickets to a baseball game. They told us we had to wait 24 hours for their next flight out, and by this point we weren't sure that flight wouldn't be cancelled as well. They said it was due to "weather" and "air traffic congestion", yet literally every other airline still flew their planes out of Denver that night. It basically translates into: "Here at Spirit we're the lowest on the totem pole." and better yet their customer service was so horrible they could not care less about their customers. We then read thousands of negative reviews about this airline and their frequent cancellations, horrible customer service, etc. and wondered how in the world we allowed ourselves to book tickets with this world-class organization. So now we're stuck in Denver with nowhere to stay. We ended up feeling more comfortable booking tickets with a legitimate airliner for the following morning, and had to get a hotel for the night. Then since we arrived to our destination at a different time than planned our family was no longer able to pick us up and we had to spend $70 on a cab. In the long run it ended up costing us a few hundred more dollars to get to our destination so that we could still do the things we'd had planned. Oh also, they didn't even call us or anything about the cancellation. One of us just happened to check our email and we noticed the flight cancellation. So that's great. And the cherry on top was when we called to get a bloody refund they shorted us $20. So my $20 is now floating around in Spirit cyberspace along with my dignity and sanity. If I could give these guys less than one star I would."

Cons: "I was supposed to depart at 10 pm. Flight was delayed twice via email & again once I arrived at the airport to 1:40 am. Around 1 am, the flight was cancelled. There was almost an angry & very immature mob at the gate desk for flight rebooking or refunds. There were few flights for the following evening, which sold out quickly; then rebooking were for the day after that. They did not offer to cover any hotel arrangements. The staff handled it pretty well, but it made my wait to get a refund even longer. I had to find a rental car to drive overnight from Orlando to Atlanta. I finally got home at 10:30 am."

Cons: "The experience felt a bit chaotic and impersonal. It's a bit stressful to manage all the extra costs as well. I tend to enjoy flying but I mostly just wanted to get this experience over with. Spirit gets you from point A to point B, safely but there's nothing enjoyable about it. Also, on the flight back we waited on the runway almost 45 minutes for an open terminal. We were about 30 minutes early but that wouldn't explain the terminal opening up 15 mins after our expected arrival time. However, I don't know if this was Spirit's fault or the airport's."
Cons: "During a difficult weather situation, Spirit was absolutely useless and left us stranded for a week. With storms on the East Coast, Spirit cancelled flights two days in a row (as did all other airlines). However, with Spirit, the website was useless for rebooking ourselves, and there were so few representatives at the airport and to reach a rep on the phone that we waited several hours just to be able to rebook at the airport. In the end, Spirit could not get us on another flight out for 7 more days. Causing extreme additional expense to me and my travel partner. I will never risk flying Spirit again."

I decided to check the status today instead of waiting in the airport for four hours and yes--- again it was delayed one hour and then two hours. so I planed accordingly and planned to be at the airport 1.5 hours ahead of the revised flight time. then they changed the flight time again and now I've missed my flight. this airline is absolutely the worst and I have flown domestically and internationally for over 35 years. I'm done with you spirit!"
Pros: "I paid twice as much to check bags as I do on other airlines. It costed me a total of $94 to check one bag to and from. Also the customer service was poor. It took forever to claim my luggage because the flight attendants told me an incorrect carousel number. I was on a wild goose in the airport and because of this I obviously don't feel it was worth the extra money checking bags. Also I didn't like that I had to become an online member only to save ten bucks on my returning checked luggage. Don't waste your money!"

Plan ahead - you will not be able to use TSA Pre-Check, you will have to pay extra to carry on a bag (so buy your bag online at the airline's website before you go to the airport - this is the cheapest way to do it as they charge you more to purchase the carry-on at the check-in counter and even more if you wait until the boarding gate), and you will have to pay for all beverages including water and provide your own in-flight entertainment. If you plan ahead and know what you're getting into, flying Spirit can be a pleasant experience. The flight staff is friendly and polite."

Everyone has at least one bag! Unless I'm flying to be there for a couple of hours, I need a bag how dare you charge me for a seat and one carry on size bag. These things are standard. Food was very limited and very overpriced for the minuscule items. I had to pay $2.00 for about 10oz of coffee. In the end, Also, none of the seats on the flight recline so forget being comfortable and resting on the flight b In the end I paid more for this flight that I did when I made the same trip in Jet Blue. This "unbundling" is a marketing tactic designed to sooo customers into spending money on additional (some required) fees. I will never fly spirit again."

Worse, poor communication alerted us flight was late, then after we delayed leaving for airport accordingly a new message said flight was on time after all. On arrival at airport, flight was indeed late--but more than two hours later than originally stated. Poor relatives had to pick up my son at arrival airport at 1:00 in the morning. We will never, ever, fly your airline again, and will tell everyone how unhappy we were with trying to save a little money with you."

Cons: "I ended up spending another $600 to get home from Vegas with another airline July 18th 2016. The manager at the gate in Vegas his name was "Omaha" did absolutely nothing to help me get home what made the experience even worse the next flight was a connecting flight that was sold out so they tried to fly me to Detroit where I would have been stuck til the next day and they didn't care about me having to work the next day. I also payed the extra $52 baggage fee with Spirit leaving Vegas but that needs to be refunded as well as my flight that was previously paid for that I take. Overall because of the unhelpful employees I had to spend an extra $600 to fly with another airline to make it home that day and I also pay $52 baggage fee with Spirit that I didn't even use that needs to be refunded."
Cons: "This was the worst flight experience I have ever had. Spirit switched their flight to a smaller airplane at the last minute and left about a dozen passengers without a seat, left stranded on a flight they PAID FOR, checked in online for, and ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT over 2 hours in advance for. They refused to communicate with us as we waited. They were completely understaffed and left a single employee to handle this. Cons: "My flight that was supposed to be only two hours from Baltimore to Atlanta never happened. Upon arrival to check my bag, a mere twenty minutes after receiving an "on time" email from the airline, they canceled the flight. Not delayed, straight up canceled it. The next flight offered to me would be two days later arriving late Saturday night and with a layover. Their customer service was terrible, no one cared that they were putting so many people out from families to single travelers. It was nuts. I eventually got a refund and flew out the next day on a different airline, vowing to never book with Spirit again."

Cons: "There was a presentation made to all passengers midflight trying to get everyone to sign up for a credit card in return for a "free" flight on the airline, presented as a gift. As a captive audience member, I found this very unprofessional, especially since the airline first proclaimed that all passengers could have a free flight then appended their statement with "as long as you sign up for a Spirit credit line." I also don't like the $10 charge for a printed boarding pass at the airport from Spirit; I understand the concept of modularizing costs, but there is no way the act of printing a pass for a passenger costs the airline remotely close to $10. It is a clear attempt to capitalize on a customer's forgetfullness."
Cons: "The charges for seats, carry-on, and checked bags are incredibly outrageously high. The added costs makes the flight way more than flying on another airline."
Pros: "I liked that we had a female pilot on this particular flight."
Cons: "I had to pay to get a seat on the plane after I had bought the ticket. Seat prices ranged from $4-$20+, in addition to the plane ticket. There is not a carry on bag included in any of this so you have to pay an additional $45-$55 for a carry on and even more if you want to check a bag. There is no in flight entertainment (I like to read so this I didn't mind too much) or complimentary beverage service. Also, the seats don't recline at all. It ends up being a very uncomfortable flight for the same price you would pay for a better airline that builds that into the price instead of surprising you with fees after the fact. Will likely never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by weather. However, the Spirit e-mails were inaccurate and I almost missed boarding because I believed the e-mails and the airport board. When I, by chance checked the board, I found out that the incoming plane in question had landed and, therefore, went to the gate and learned that Spirit had "secretly" moved things up and would soon close the door. Had I believed the e-mail from Spirit, I would have been left -- and they would have blamed it on me -- because I relied on Spirit's e-mails."
Cons: "The flight was delayed then cancelled. We were given the choice of refund that will arrive a week later or to take a flight a 9 pm tomorrow. The reason for the cancellation was said to me a crew "time-out" that was caused by the rain. There was no other compensation for the cancellation nor did they get ahold of everyone to let them know it was cancelled. After dealing with the gate I found the customer service desk and waited for 2 hours just to talk to someone and was told nothing they could do."

Cons: "I'm a small to average sized woman and I had no room to move. It's the only airline that goes from Atlanta to Atlanic City so I have no choice. Oh and the 2 hour delay was aweful too. I understand these things happen but I never expect that in May."

Hoping they don't miss there train once arriving at the airport, these people move slow, Josh - We do have 6 wheelchairs but we will see if they can miraculously walk once we arrive. The brunnette, 19f (the water passenger) better hope I don't have the marshals waiting for her, let her look at me one more time!" I was sitting in row 24... Yes I could hear it all.... Completely UNPROFESSIONAL...!"
Cons: "Did not like the fact that i was on time to my flight but my flight didnt not leave for an hour after it was schedualed due to a "computer" problem. It didnt seem like much was wrong since all the mechanics were just sitting around talking to the flight attendants. Also the plane kept making this unusual grinding sound before we even took off as well as while we werr in the air. The flight attendants were very rude to alot of people, careless with the credit card machine dropped it very roughly on the ground and laughing about it. I am pretty sure the older one of the three was drunk because she reaked of alcohol , I didnt not catch her name but she was the ruddest of them even to an elderly man and a small child. Then Liz was also very rude to customers as well as having an attitude that was as if she didnt carr about her job. The man Gustavo was not to bad he just spoke over the intercom as if he was new. My mother who was traveling with me asked for a seat belt extender twice and the third time was finaly given one and laughed at by the staff and the during the flight she discoverd a roach in the pouch in front of her. Also back to a referance to the bad staff a woman sat next to us asked for a pain killer or some sort and was told " i cant give it to you before we take off, and if i could we dont have anything other than our own"-liz then twords the end the poor girl was sweating drasticaly and holding her stomach and the older attendent whose name i did not get came up and said " WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?" and laughed. Over all i was NOT haooy woth this flight i do understand the fact that i GET WHAT I PAY FOR BUT THAT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS."
Cons: "We had got stuck in traffic on the way to O'hare yet still arrived MORE than 45 minutes before our flight, but the Spirit airlines crew did not even give us the opportunity to ATTEMPT to check in to get our boarding passes. We missed our flight and are now out all of the money we had spent to go enjoy our first wedding anniversary together. This is unacceptable... While I understand that traffic issues fall outside of the airline's responsibility - SHOWING EMPATHY toward our situation could have made things easier, but they didn't - just very cold, non-customer service friendly, garbage. Perhaps if the Spirit airlines team was better at checking people in at the terminal, instead of having a 'who cares' mentality and allowing a 35 person line to be AT A STAND STILL, perhaps we could have made the plane, and I currently could have been writing an amazing review in Florida right now, but I'm not. I am in Indiana, trying to fight with the airline, the travel insurance agency, and others trying to re-coop my losses. this was an overall terrible experience, and I feel like a fool even attempting to try doing this. Cons: "Cancelled flight at the very last minute because of lack of crew. Not enough staff to accommodate travellers trying to rebook flights. Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse."
Cons: "We were in the airport, past security, in the terminal waiting to board a plane that never showed up. Kayak sent an email saying the flight was cancelled. There was no indication from Spirit through electronic communication, notifications on their in airport boards, and there were not even any spirit employees in the airport terminal. I called spirit. They confirmed that the flight was cancelled and assured me that it was okay and that they would be able to get me on another flight... in eight days. Yes, really, 8 days. I demanded a refund, flew with another airline, and vowed to never fly spirit again."

Cons: "Why send an email asking me how my flight was to Atlanta when the flight was cancelled after I got to the airport. I was looking forward to taking a much needed and well deserved break. I receive an email during my travel to the airport that the flight was delayed, then another email three minutes later saying that it's back on schedule, and then an employee tells everyone once we got in line that the flight was cancelled. Now I'm hearing about all the hidden fees for baggage, seats etc. Folks, don't even waste your time booking a flight wih Spirit. The saying goes, "You get what you pay for". You can get a refund, but you can't get back time. SMH"

While my flight was only 80 dollars, I ended up spending 100+ dollars extra to carry on my suit. This was my first time flying with Spirit, and if I knew that these extra charges would apply, I would have packed differently. As a student, I do not have any disposable income; I found it very misleading that the price to "fly" and the price to buy a ticket were very different. 80 dollar flight vs. additional 110 dollars to get from point A to point B."

Cons: "Unfair and deceptive trade practice: I bought my airline ticket from a third party (Kayak.com), so it wasn’t until I went on the Spirit Airline website to do the online check-in that I saw that I would have to pay to bring on a carry on bag. When I called Spirit Airlines customer service, they kept stating that I had to pay to bring on a carry on bag because I had only paid for the ticket to ride on the plane. However, the plane ticket was only about $40 less that the next lowest ticket price and it was going to cost me $90 to carry a bag on both flights. Unacceptable! Overcrowded flights: The seats are closer together on Spirit flights than I’ve seen on any other airline, and I travel often. Matter of fact, the seats are so close together that they don’t even recline…there’s NO room to recline! Since I couldn’t recline, when I fell asleep my head kept rolling forward and waking me up. This happened on the departing and returning flight. It was awful. No electronic tickets: I’ve been using electronic tickets to travel for awhile now, so I automatically created a screenshot of the ticket for the Spirit flights. It wasn’t until I made it through security check line that the agent told me I had to got to the Spirit Airline counter and get a printed ticket. Only Spirit Airlines and possibly one other airline don’t allow electronic tickets. It’s a simple thing to provide to Spirit Airline customers to make the flying process easier, but Spirit Airlines doesn’t provide them. You pay for EVERYTHING: Spirit airlines doesn’t allow customers to bring on a free carry on, they charge for all seats selected, sodas are only available for a fee, and they even charge if you go to the counter to speak with an agent. It’s preposterous! BOTTOM LINE: Spirit Airlines makes it seem as though they are saving customers money by making them pay for only the things they use, but it’s just not so. Spirit Airlines nickel and dime customers and end up making a lot of in the end. They know charging for carry on items will deter people from bringing luggage onto the plane; therefore, they actually save money because the plane is lighter and uses less fuel. They say that the ticket price is so much cheaper than other airlines, but when you figure in the cost of carry on baggage, price for seats that provide the same leg room as other airlines as part of the original ticket price, and money customers have to pay if they need agent assistance, it’s a sham. I will NEVER fly with Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "The carry on bag rule is a rip off. I bought a carry on that fit in the box and only the handle was hanging out and I was told I had to pay extra after already checking in. This is clearly a scam system. The price went from 35 to 55 because i didnt think my bag had to be checked in. The last few flight Ive taken have been delayed for no obvious reasoning. This really cuts in to the arrangements for pick up. If the weather isnt bad or there was no threat of human life my flight should be on time to depart and arrive. You guys dont accept late passengers so why should we accept late flights. I paid over 400 dollars to make it home for Christmas. I had a flight change that cost me half the price of my ticket and it was done much in advance so there was time to fill the seat. The overall customer appreciation here sucks and I will never fly this lousy airline again."
