The crew is horrible. Especially at the ticketing and checking counter. Very irresponsible, lazy and no emphathy.

Pros: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Cons: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Poor advert for Qatar, after nearly an hour of queuing I would think most passengers wished they had gone somewhere else."

The in flight crew were not friendly. One flight attendant in particular kept passing by and hit me really hard with her body as she passed by and never once apologized or said excuse me. I’m his startled me every time. I got a drink only 2 times in 9 hours and when I asked for a drink of water I did not get. Also when I put the call button on, no one came. This made me sad as I’ve been very polite as always and I don’t fly with any other airlines.
No amenity kits and meals weren’t as good as before. Other airlines now have a full meal son o reason why Virgin Atlantic can’t. Going to stick to BA.
More veggie options. Or something healthier.

And finally cabin crew were lacking serious customer service and when u ask for something they were just so reluctant to deliver as if we were given a free ticket or something. May it be noted that my ticket was not that cheap to be treated in such manner."

The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Cons: "The morning of my flight I got a notice the departures time was changed by one hour later but to still arrive at the airport at the same time. So I ended up spending almost four hours at the airport before leaving. Boarding was a mess as "groups" were not called but everyone just rushed the gate in mass and we're let on. Staff were functional but looked and acted surly. It was a functional flight in that I arrived at my destination but it was not managed and I did not feel my business was wanted-only my money."

I was promised my luggage on the same day,but I didn't get it until 11:30pm that night from a 2:40pm flight. I had to go out and spend money on toiletries,night wear and my medicine because of not having my luggage. Just totally disgusted by the overall experience and wouldn't wish it on anyone."

Pros: "I enjoy being a Gold SkyMiles member, which gives me the perk of being in priority boarding. I also enjoy seating in Delta comfort, especially on long flights such as the one to LA. Delta has greatly improved on keeping their passengers entertained by having the latest movies to watch, as well as, satellite television. Additionally, the mobile app is excellent since it allows you to check in and track your luggage."

The check in rep did provide an announcement at 8:15 that although the time of departure had moved to 9:05 , he did not see how that was possible since our plane was on the ground in Richmond undergoing maintenance. I was in LGA. When I heard that, I changed to another flight, so the outcome was not as bad as it could have been. I am aware of these other times since my email is packed with Delta's notifications, which I welcome usually."

The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

Cons: "The flight was delayed. There was a terrible backlog in Security at Frankfurt Airport. This is not Lufthansa's fault but considering how important Frankfurt is, you would think the airlines would say something. The flight was late. There were no proper queues for boarding. Everone was mixed up, business, gold card, economy, and only one person doing the chekcing of boarding passes. It was not the best process."

Cons: "Checking in on-line was not very "user friendly". Our aircraft had to be replaced causing a 2 hour delay, part of which was an ATC sequencing delay. The 50 minute ATC delay couldn't be controlled by LH, but the original equipment replacement was at the bottom of the overall delay. My "A" window seat in economy had significantly reduce foot space due to a metal box installed in the space. The seat was not particularly well designed, but it's economy so you get what you get. The food was average at best."
Pros: "Great staff, quick boarding and vegetarian options were avaliable. This was the most pleasant experience I've had with a flight service. I commend Lufthansa and the crew of this aircraft."

The flight we missed was still at the gate but the door had closed. We were told the flight was oversold so it benefited the airline that we missed it. It’s muxh cheaper to put us in a horrible hotel with disgusting food and fly us out the next day, then pay people to choose a new flight. I had two small children at home and Diebel to this incompetence missed my 4 year olds birthday. He was devastated all thanks to your airline."

The crew themselves remarked that the type of plane used for this flight was inappropriate."

Cons: "Unreliable domestic Lufthansa flights (in Germany) connected to this international one, and the departure time history for this LH400 proved typical for this flight, which ultimately left nearly 2 hours late despite good local weather. An announcement cited technical difficulties with the originally scheduled plane. Several small groups we recognized from embarkation on this LH400 flight filed lost luggage claims, as we did. Uncharacteristically bad planning by LH on food choices left our rows near the front of Economy without a choice of meals: only pasta, tasty though it was, was available. The chicken option was gone. The flight status video program function did not work for anybody near us despite three equipment restarts by the crew."

Cons: "the second leg from FRA to BUD entailed a massively disorganized, no queue control free for all to go through the boarding gates, all of which just led to an overcrowded bus.... which meandered through the airport to your jet on the tarmac.. they then allowed boarding from either rear or front of plane which of course lead to the throngs meeting in the middle and trying to squeeze past each other... horrible. Then... the checked bag did not make it to Budapest as they forgot to transfer it in FRA. so, yeah all in all it was a cheap flight and we got what we paid for."

Cons: "There were screaming ( not just crying...but SCREAMING at a shrill pitch) for the entire 10 hour flight. I was never so ready to get off of a plane in my life. The staff tried to appease the many different situations as best they could, but they got wore out before the end of the the flight. There were people not sitting in their assigned seats, so mealtime was totally boggled and some got fed a full hour before the rest us is on the tail end of the serving. The last meal ( after I FINALLY got food, we had turbulence, so they stopped serving drinks to go with the meal, and no one ever came back and continued where they left off, so I ate my meal without a drink. I don't blame the airline because it was the many children in that section that made it absolutely miserable for everyone on board, but it was the worst flight I have ever taken...hands down."

One bag eventually arrived - took 3 hours second bag did not arrive and apparently did not get transferred in Frankfurt Told they would deliver bag - next day and would text and call - called at 4am !!! I just had come off 20hrs of travel. Phone on mute. No e mail. Now they say will deliver this evening - but no time slot so another wasted vacation day waiting for them to get their act together. Why can't they call/text me with a 30 minute window."
Pros: "The food tasted really good and especially the bread was much more appealing than on our previous flight. The flight attendants were very efficient and attentive. I liked that they asked the person in front of me to put his seat up during the meal time. That helped me eat more comfortably. Entertainment options were extensive."
Cons: "Boarding was delayed and was tedious. It took forever because there was not an orderly line and just a jumble of people. We had to show our passports 3 different times between check in and boarding. People had put their passports away, then had to get them out again at the gate. That slowed everything down to a crawl. Our party was not accommodated when we asked for seats together. My husband and I were separated and we were separated from our kids. The ground crew did not seem to care. Take off was delayed, but the captain never told us why. The guy in front of me reclined his seat the whole time. I felt like a sardine in a can. So uncomfortable!"
Pros: "I liked that Lufthansa was able to get me a flight home on the day planned in spite of the strike. I love Lufthansa's customer service. The flight was excellent. As usual the fight attendants were great. They worked together to get every thing done and make passengers comfortable. I prefer to fly Lufthansa"
Cons: "There were many empty seats in the economy plus section. Once in flight passengers were offered an upgrade but it was still about 300 dollars. I understand that if the price for an upgrade dropped once in flight people would just wait until then to upgrade. However, I think something should be done differently somehow. If economy plus is frequently not full then please consider refiguring your planes to give regular economy just a bit more space, even an inch or two would make it nicer. At the end of our flight the passenger behind me was crying because of pain in her jaw and face. The flight attendants were very attentive, and did all the right things. Except they advised the passenger to see a dentist before her flight home. They should know that sinus pressure, or pain from a sinus infection, can feel like a tooth problem. Just FYI. A suggestion to visit an urgent care center that day would be more appropriate. An urgent care center would be able to take care of sinus problems (she sat behind me for a transatlantic flight I can tell you she had some). An urgent care center would also be able to refer her to another provider as needed."
Cons: "My connecting flight to Rome wasn't listed on any monitors, and four people couldn't find Terminal A on the map. Fortunately I found some fellow Americans who also couldn't find Terminal A , lower numbered gates, from our current Z gate. We went to the right, following most disembarked passengers and signs for some A gates....a mess! In the end, we had to go all the way back, past our original gate to a Customs area where they just stamped our passports and onward to our gates. It seemed like the signs only helped if you were going in the correct direction to begin with. Even my German friend said how bad that airport is for directions!"

Cons: "Both ways up and down I struggled with over-head luggage space. We were allowed a cabin bag and a small hand-bag in the flight but as we were among the last half of the passengers to board the flight we couldn't find anywhere to keep our luggage and the crew had to take them away from us to store them somewhere at the back far away from our seats. As a result we had to wait until all the passengers got off the plane to get back our luggage and we were the last two passengers to get off. Unpleasant!"
