Flight crew was friendly and professional
The seat back entertainment screen didn’t work at my seat. Staff was great.
No seat assignment. Was put in the absolute last seat in the plane. Flight was delayed because of an electrical issue which also broke the AC until we were taxi-ing. It was hot.

When I went to check in with Virgin Atlantic they told me to go to Delta. When I went to Delta they told me to go back to Virgin Atlantic. I wound up checking in with Virgin Atlantic. Everyone was very polite but check in was confusing. Everything else was wonderful. Cutomer service was great from beginning to end."

Pros: "Miami based cabin crew were nice, but they sat in the back of the plane and talked to each other then whole flight. Pretty unprofessional. Chicago based crew from start to finish were fantastic."
Cons: "Miami crew from checkin to boarding were rude, demeaning and unhelpful in this extreme situation. Really rude, particularly the gate boarding pass girl. Haven't you learned your lesson about being rude to passengers yet? I won't be choosing AA again. Your loss, I fly a lot."

I used an AA discount to get a room in Charlotte but we didn’t get to the airport until almost 2am so I had called to cancel that hour before making it to Charlotte but was told I may still be charged for the room even tho at this point it was outta my control. It would be great if the airline took care of giving you shelter when you are stuck in limbo with no reason behind while you are stuck. American is a good airline but they seriously dropped the ball this trip."

I was rebooked for a flight to smile Palm Springs the next day which I did not except. Then I was booked to leave Dallas to Los Angeles that flight was delayed also. To make matters worse my bags ended up in LA when they were supposed to be route it all the way to Palm Springs. I still don’t have my bags yet. Called three times and the representatives cannot reassure me of my bags on the way."

They wouldn't let me board, claiming that my camera bag was a third item that I couldn't have. They then tried to force me to check the suitcase which i explained that I did not want to do, before giving me the chance to place the camera bag in the suitcase (which it fit just fine). They were not understanding or friendly and really made me question my decision of flying with American Airlines."

The reason I only bring a carry-on is so that this situation would not happen. I have never been required to check my carry-on in the past. It was not a pleasant start to our vacation. I had really been looking forward to flying Swiss airlines as I had heard great things about it. I was extremely disappointed."

I had basic economy which means I can have only one personal bag (which I did, but it is lil bigger then regular women bags) I new it will fit cause I am flight with it all the time if I am going only for a few days and on those cheapest tickets. She gave me hard time telling me that my purse is to big to take on board and was making me to pay for that and the tone with wich she dpoke to me wasn't nice. When I told her that in Chicago they let me go with that bag, she said: "those united employees are not doing there job, if you want to go with it go, but I'll call too ur gates and they will charge you double for that bag" Which noone did, they did not even stoped me on gates, because my bag is perfectly fitting under the seat."
Cons: "I am at a loss for words. I was scheduled to depart from Tampa,Fl July 25th at 5pm. I was able to catch an earlier flight when another airline so I did. I still needed to fly back from my destination from Newark, Nj on Monday July 31. Due to me not taking my original flight United cancelled my ENTIRE reservation and they want me to pay $250 to rebook, which I do not have. I am currently stuck in New York with no money for a return flight, and will possibly lose my job. I am extremely shocked that they would do that. I will NEVER recommend or fly with them again."

Were any of the "lunch" items available? "No, we only have snack items on this flight." But it's during lunch time... "It's not a long enough flight." WHO COULD MAKE THIS UP? We declined to complain for fear we would be thrown from the plane. Oh yes, I have 1,800,000 miles on United."

The que for boarding was one of the worst that I've ever seen. People would line up for their boarding group way in advance, creating long lines throughout the main area of the terminal, hindering other people trying to get where they needed to go. Not only that, but it took FOREVER. Thank goodness the pilots made good time or else we would have been behind. I doubt I'll fly United again... In light of what just happened where a parent paid $150 for the staff to watch his girl and she ended up getting molested by an older gentlemen, this is unacceptable. She was screaming and being a normal 7 year old, pushing the call button every 2 minutes, slamming her chair back and forth. I do not have kids for a reason. This should not be allowed. I was afraid if I said anything to her about her attitude that she could say I did something to her and My life would be ruined."

Cons: "As a military spouse I was not allowed to check a bag free so I paid the fee. When I boarded I noticed many passengers bringing bags on that we're as big as the one I just paid for. They either checked for free or brought it on and managed to shove it in sideways taking up space that others needed. Some people brought three bags on!!! As a military spouse I feel cheated to have had to pay when others checked in for free at the gate. Not cool United, either let the spouse check in for free or make everyone abide by the so-called rules of one carry on that actually fits into that metal baggage guide. I would like a refund of 50.00 for the baggage fees I paid for this trip."

If ever a major problem with the aircraft, it would be very hard to exit the plane quickly and safely. Very nervous about this airline. Pilot seems capable and flight was smooth, so I guess that’s a plus. The first time I flew spirit, they didn’t give us the baggage carousel and the attendant in airport didn’t know. Tried another and was given a wrong carosel. The psssaengers found it on their own and called out to others. I always fly BDL to MCO and back. I travel alone or with children. Not much choices on the flights times etc."

The worst is when u get to the check in booth, they say it with such an attitude. I understand the fares are cheaper, but give your costumers a brake on the charges. Costumer services at the airport needs a bit of an improvement."

Cons: "I did not like the limited food selections and the small portions that were served. Also, I always like it when the pilot informs you of the area of the country you are flying over. For example I recently took a flight from Las Vegas Nevada to Melbourne Florida and that pilot on Delta explained where landmarks were all along the way. That is something comforting about a pilot connecting with his crew and the people aboard the flight. So I would really like that if Spirit would include that. Additionally I do like onboard entertainment but maybe the fares would have to reflect that."

Cons: "Carry on baggage fee which is $50 which is completely ridiculous I had to pay for a thing of water which was also ridiculous.. the seats were okay but could have more comfort in them. When I checked and I had to pay a $10 fee to check in with my plane ticket which is ridiculous.. He didn't see my carry-on bag so I had to pay an extra $50 at the gate which should have been caught at the moment I checked in. I probably won't fly with Spirit Airlines again if not very often. Unless there's a lot of direct flights to Florida I don't see much reason why I would fly with them anymore."
Cons: "im not one to complain but Wiskey Tango Foxtrot. I show up to the gate and they somehow canceled my reservation and gave my seat away! They put me standby on that same flight. We get to the gate and it's delayed an hour. After an hour it gets canceled because the flight attendants all called out!!! Seriously. Go to the front they put me on the next flight at 6pm (8 hours from the original flight I was booked for) That one gets delayed 2 hours and at this point the plane is over booked so I figured I'll just give up my seat and fly another day. Go to the front counter dude says the next available seat is in 12 days!!! And even if I want to change my flight the manger is on break. He turns to the guy next to him and in Spanish asked where she went and he said she went to the house. She is the only manger in the airport that has a code to change anything including giving my money back. So I book a flight with United and go back to the house. Worst experience ever. I'm in the military and fly constantly and have never had this horrible experience."
Pros: "My flight was delayed twice. The flight to Detroit was leaving from a gate nearby. Since my final destination was in Michigan, I asked to be transferred to the Detroit flight, since I would not make my connecting flight to Flint because of delays. The gate agents were wonderful. With 4 minutes before boarding closed, they switched me from the Chicago to the Flint flight, without complaint or additional cost. Very much appreciated!"
Cons: "The initial email regarding the flight delay came before 7 am, the second less than an hour before boarding. The gate agents didn't know about the second delay until they were informed by passengers receiving the email."

Cons: "I was supposed to depart at 10 pm. Flight was delayed twice via email & again once I arrived at the airport to 1:40 am. Around 1 am, the flight was cancelled. There was almost an angry & very immature mob at the gate desk for flight rebooking or refunds. There were few flights for the following evening, which sold out quickly; then rebooking were for the day after that. They did not offer to cover any hotel arrangements. The staff handled it pretty well, but it made my wait to get a refund even longer. I had to find a rental car to drive overnight from Orlando to Atlanta. I finally got home at 10:30 am."

They also try to get you to fill out for a credit card to earn points for a free flight. . I will NEVER fly Spirit again."

Cons: "Ridiculous charges for everything you get on other carriers for free: printing boarding pass, choosing a seat,water, carry on bag allowance. Additionally seats are extremely small(and I am not a big person), no inflight entertainment available at all, no option for an electronic boarding pass and additionally the flight was delayed. With what I paid for the flight itself, the charge for 1 carry-on bag and the fee for selecting a seat at the time of booking, my total cost was more than what I would have paid on Delta or American. Will not be a repeat customer of Spirit."

Cons: "Fare cheap but all the 'musts'made it more than any other airline: $9 Online fee; $25 kiosk fee (which didn't work and had to pay $50 fee to check in with clerk; had to check bag approved for under seat/carry on (12"c12") and since kiosk didn't work, charged $60 for 1st bag, even though I paid $60 for a 'first checked bag' and 2nd bag should hAve been cheaper. It was TSA agent who told me I would be required to check the bag by Spirit as it didn't meet carry on criteria and if I didn't check now, would be $100 at gate. I told her that I was traveling back with same TSA approved (and Spirit online rules) and she became rude and rejected my bag (and did a complete body search) so, I was forced to check the bag or miss my flight. I asked her and the Spirit clerk (3) if this was a TSA/ Spirit racket with kickbacks for TSA and/or Spirit and NOT on of them laughed, smiled, or denied this question. Mever again will I fly Spirit airlines or recommend to anyone!"

Cons: "On arrival at the airport, help was needed to get the boarding pass but there was no one at the ticket counter to help. For that reason, Joe missed the flight. When the representative did get to the counter, she was of no help in helping him get to his destination. He was marked as a "No Show" and his reservation was cancelled. Joe was told his return flight was confirmed. He was able to make arrangements with another airline after spending another $300 to get to Orlando. However, when he confirmed his flight home, he was told it was canceled because he "no showed!" He talked with people in Orlando and I called the phone number on the email received from Spirit after he missed the flight. I spoke with 3 different people who only wanted to tell me their policy. I needed help in getting Joe back to Akron, Oh. They could only tell me that we would have to make a new reservation and pay even more money for him to get home. They did not honor the money that had already been paid to them. They did not help us at all. They could only quote their policy, which was a moot point by that time!!!"

Cons: "Getting our boarding pass to print was a nightmare. I kept getting password invalid. I was told I would be sent an e-mail to reset my password. NOT! made that request 6 times before I waited 30 minutes to get a rep on the phone. Was told I had to sign up to be a Free Spirit Member to get my boarding pass. No where does it say that that is what you had to do . The rep asked if I had booked through them? I told I booked through Kayak and he gave me attitude. Kind of huffed and I thought he mumbled "you get what you pay for" So I signed up and got our boarding pass. Coming back AGAIN we couldn't get our boarding pass. The rep at Cabana Bay got a Spirit rep on the phone I told her I was a Free Spirit Member and I gave her my member # and she me told I didn't exist in the system, but she would send me an e-mail to change my password Of course that didn't come through. I put Sara, from the front desk, back on the phone and between her and the rep we got our boarding pass. We started our vacation upset and aggregated. Ended it the same way."
Cons: "The alert was finally sent to us well past the time we would have been going through security. Luckily, we had checked on our own through a third party app,. No alternative flights were available, so we had to book on another airline and cancel the Spirit tickets. The credit policy is draconian. We may not be able to meet the redemption requirements and will probably lose the entire value. The process created so much frustration and wasted so much time. The low-ish price is simply not worth it."
Cons: "Flight cancelled due to weather. Supposed to leave on Saturday, told it would be Monday or Tuesday before we could get out of Boston. Airline has no reciprocal agreement to put us on other flights. Agent gave us wrong info, told us to take refund, and come back if we couldn't get on another airline. We took his advice, came back, and the flight cost was over $1,000 each. We will never book on Spirit again."

Cons: "Spirit is HORRIBLE. They herd you into the plane like cattle. I'm a female of average height/weight and I was cramped. There is absolutely no room to move. The seats are so thin you can feel every movement behind you. There is no food, wifi, or in flight entertainment. They rob you with a $55 fee to carry on a bag. It is $3 cheaper to check one. They cancelled my flight and would do nothing about it, other than give me a partial refund and a coupon for a hotel. A coupon!!! They wouldn't even comp me for a hotel. Customer service reps were extremely rude after me waiting on hold for over an hour. Never again."

Cons: "Only one suitcase, otherwise had to pay $52 for anything extra. Some passengers had more than one case/bag without charge. The staff acted like they did not enjoy their professions. Charging for snacks seemed outrageous & asinine. The flight was very rough and at some points very frightening. Dropped down more than once with my stomach having a pit. The passengers clapped their hands when we landed as if it wasn't safe. Not happy, extremely disappointed. The fight to Florida from Detroit was awesome & pleasantly surprised. I probably wouldn't recommend Spirit to friends or family."

Security was terrible experience. Took forever. I nearly missed the flight. The door had already been closed when I got there. Airline staff were surly even though it was not my fault. Flight was good. Will never fly Spirit again"

Are there ever repeat spirit customers? So strange. I get the bare fare concept, but who flys with no luggage at at? The nit picking things. Money for this, money for that. I just sucks. If you read this, save yourself the trouble. I flew them once, will never again. It was so terrible and uncomfortable I don't have the time to list out all of the shortcoming. I would avoid them at all costs, you can always drive."
Pros: "The original flight from Latrobe to Orlando was cancelled leading to a scramble to find a new flight elsewhere, since the next Spirit flight available was in 2 days. Ended up cancelling the return flight with Spirit as well. Possibly someone without time constraints could handle taking a flight 48 hours later without any problems. But we were meeting another person who had flown to Orlando and arrived when we were originally scheduled to arrive. This caused problems for others because we didn't arrive on schedule. We never had a chance to experience Spirit Airlines and will never be buying tickets for flights with them again."

Cons: "All of the joking done by the stewards on the overhead microphone. Too many jokes and their content, it wasn't funny at that point it was unprofessional. Super disappointed about having my luggage left at my city of origin and the earliest I was offered to get it returned was in 24 hours! So I'm in a new city with no clothes at all and the rest of my continents that were in my suitcase. Arranging to have the suitcase dropped off is not enough to counter the worry and financial inconvenience that comes with not having your stuff. I am thoroughly disappointed and will never fly with spirit again"
Pros: "The flights to Chicago and Atlanta were both smooth. I got to my final destination quickly. I was offered a coupon for 2,500 miles. The attendants were professional and respectful."
Cons: "My initial flight was canceled because of a mechanical error. My flight was supposed to leave at 7 am Saturday morning. I was supposed to be in Georgia around 8:30 am. The people in charge did very little to rectify the situation. The pretty much treated me and the other passengers like we were to blame for the plane not working right. I had to get booked on another flight which took me to Chicago, then Atlanta. It took me 14 hours to get home. Like I said, the airline didn't do much to rectify the situation. They gave me a lousy food voucher worth 7 dollars. Not much I could do with that. On top of that, I had to go through security twice. The second time I went through, a security officer threw my shampoo, sunscreen and body wash away because of some stupid regulation involving liquids. The first time I went through, nobody said anything about it. I hold the airline and the airport responsible for my stuff getting tossed out. I will at least be using the miles Spirit Airlines gave me. After that, I don't think I'll be traveling with them again"
Cons: "Computer system shut down for hours, everything had to be printed prior to boarding, I only had an IPad, so I went to a relative's computer and couldn't get it to work either. I arrived so much too early so I could get help."
Cons: "There were some very loud obnoxious people on board. The staff did nothing to settle them down and at the end of the flight a fight nearly broke out and only one staff member tried to calm the situation. all others just looked on."

My cramped and uncomfortable seat was covered in chips upon arrival and there was trash on the ground. This has been happening more now that they have previous passengers clean up instead of having them cleaned up between flights. Overall, if you want a good price you're gonna have to put up with all the woes of air travel."
Cons: "The seats had no recline option which is a bit odd- I've never been on a plane where the seats couldn't recline at least a bit. And the website claimed that they didn't offer beverages /food (including water) to save on fuel and costs over all (such as paying employees) - however, once I was on the plane, I see that they had almost more options than a standard airline but just charged for it (including water), and had the same # of flight attendants - so this explanation was not true, as they claimed on their website. They maybe had more items on their plane to carry, to be honest , with all of the options available . It was a ploy. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, however ."
