One of the most pleasurable regional jet flights I’ve had. Super quick boarding - ultra pleasant crew and really smooth flight, departure and landing. Excellent job, crew!

No one watched us to ensure that we didn’t use the overhead bins (a stipulation of the fare) but we did comply anyway. We chose to take our chances and were assigned seats at the gate 16 rows apart and both in the middle seat."

Whilst I didn't like needing to hand in my carry on (without much warning so I didn't have time to pull out a magazine to read) on the plus side it was stored well as my suit carrier came out unscathed and you get your bags curb side as soon as the plane lands so you don't have to wait for the rest of the bags to unload."

Pros: "I flew first class. Philadelphia airport is horrendous. I chose to fly first class to avoid lines and make flying by my lonesome go more smoothly. There are no special lines for first class there are absolutely no perks to flying first class out of Philly. The first class flight attendant was rude. They ran out of hot food by the time they got to me so I was served yogurt ... I don't eat yogurt. I waited 40 minutes for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim. The flight to Philadelphia from Tampa was a good experience. They had first class lines. The airport was cleaner. The flight attendant Steve, was kind and professional. I was served a hot lunch. I'm a diabetic and when my blood sugar went low he got me orange juice quickly. I waited maybe 10 minutes for luggage at baggage claim. However with the horrific experience in Philadlephia I may never fly American again. Definitely will never fly out of Philadelphia again. I was told by the woman who I sat next to on the way home that she hates American and usually flys Delta for her business trips."

The reason I only bring a carry-on is so that this situation would not happen. I have never been required to check my carry-on in the past. It was not a pleasant start to our vacation. I had really been looking forward to flying Swiss airlines as I had heard great things about it. I was extremely disappointed."

I had basic economy which means I can have only one personal bag (which I did, but it is lil bigger then regular women bags) I new it will fit cause I am flight with it all the time if I am going only for a few days and on those cheapest tickets. She gave me hard time telling me that my purse is to big to take on board and was making me to pay for that and the tone with wich she dpoke to me wasn't nice. When I told her that in Chicago they let me go with that bag, she said: "those united employees are not doing there job, if you want to go with it go, but I'll call too ur gates and they will charge you double for that bag" Which noone did, they did not even stoped me on gates, because my bag is perfectly fitting under the seat."
Cons: "I am at a loss for words. I was scheduled to depart from Tampa,Fl July 25th at 5pm. I was able to catch an earlier flight when another airline so I did. I still needed to fly back from my destination from Newark, Nj on Monday July 31. Due to me not taking my original flight United cancelled my ENTIRE reservation and they want me to pay $250 to rebook, which I do not have. I am currently stuck in New York with no money for a return flight, and will possibly lose my job. I am extremely shocked that they would do that. I will NEVER recommend or fly with them again."

The que for boarding was one of the worst that I've ever seen. Not only that, but it took FOREVER. Thank goodness the pilots made good time or else we would have been behind. I doubt I'll fly United again... In light of what just happened where a parent paid $150 for the staff to watch his girl and she ended up getting molested by an older gentlemen, this is unacceptable. She was screaming and being a normal 7 year old, pushing the call button every 2 minutes, slamming her chair back and forth. I do not have kids for a reason. This should not be allowed. I was afraid if I said anything to her about her attitude that she could say I did something to her and My life would be ruined."

As a military spouse I feel cheated to have had to pay when others checked in for free at the gate. Not cool United, either let the spouse check in for free or make everyone abide by the so-called rules of one carry on that actually fits into that metal baggage guide. I would like a refund of 50.00 for the baggage fees I paid for this trip."

We loaded a recently purchased holdup stroller at the entry door with a cup holder and when we got it in Detroit (which was better than their arrival in Tampa as the stroller did NOT arrive until later that night as it was lost somehow) it was missing. My daughter went to the lost luggage service counter and asked if they could find it, and was told that WE should have known to remove it and if they wanted to purchase it and send the receipt they would reimburse. No one informed us of removing it at the door, we were told to board and leave it. Replacing only the cupholder will be extremely difficult. So this made me very disappointed as a customer."

Cons: "the flight was delayed again and again for over 18 hours even as other planes from other airlines took off around us. at one point we boarded the flight and sat 10 feet from the gate for over an hour before they returned us to thr gate and made us disembark. for another set of delays we were told that the person supposed to tow the plane had lost his access badge and another person had to drive in from home to do the work. other than this, the gate staff gave the passengers limited to no information. no amenities were provided to delayed passengers (no snacks, accommodations, etc). plus, the terminal had only one women's restroom with only two stalls, one of which was frequently out of toilet paper."

Cons: "Weather delay with fog in San Diego. Not Spirit's fault but they delayed for an hour and a half and then cancel the flight. As they canceled the flight they came around with cards with a number to call to rebook or change your itinerary. I called the number on the car rather than getting right in line at the desk. By the time I got through on the phone it would have been 10 to 15 minutes. They told me that since I was halfway through my return trip they couldn't do anything over the phone. So then I had to get in line and wait. I was the last person served. They offered me a flight to days later at the same time 9:45 PM that was unacceptable so I ask for something else and he somehow turned out they had a Houston Chicago San Diego flight that leaves tomorrow morning at seven. Very disappointed in the handling by the rebooking staff on the phone the gate agents were very friendly but very overworked and stressed. Service manager was there and he put me on a call back on the phone but that didn't help either. Not flying spirit again anytime soon."

We went online to do just that for the return trip and we were pleased to see that the fee was $36 - until we went to pay and there was a $9 fee tacked on because we weren't part of the "$9 Club"! We will never book with Spirit again. We will opt for the slightly higher flight cost and avoid the hidden fees! Overall, the flight was more expensive than any of our other options."
Cons: "I was unable to make the flight to Tampa or Atlanta due to a family emergency. I called customer service several times on 9/14 to try to change and later to cancel my flight and was told that I would be charged $100 to cancel (which was more than the ticket) plus a cancellation fee of $17.99 x 2 (1 cancellation charge for each leg of the flight) and thus my cost to cancel again was more than the ticket so to the cover the cost they would also take away from the $40 (each way) which I had paid to check my bag. The customer service rep told me that this would result in a $40 credit toward another flight should I choose to book one on their airline (which I will not) but that the credit would only be good for 90 days. In other words, everything was non-refundable. Clearly the Spirit Airlines business model is a set up to rip people off. I was told by the customer service rep (somewhere in the Philippines) that I would receive a confirmation email with a cancellation number but I never did despite the fact that I verified the email address that they had on hand. I did not fly this airline and now I never will. EVER. I would rather pay more for my flight."
Cons: "Spirit put us all on the plane, knowing that we were going to taxi out 10 minutes then cut the engines and sit. We sat parked on the taxiway for 2/12 hours. Then we taxied back to the gate, waited while they assembled a gate crew, got back off the plane and the flight was cancelled. Then all 300 passengers had to go all the way back to the Spirit check-in counter back in the terminal and stand in line for another 2 hours just to hear that the soonest they could get us to our destination was going to be 2 days later. We requested a full refund....which as it turns out was about $30 shy of what we paid. Honestly, you can't make this stuff up. In my world "Spirit" no longer exists."

Cons: "I arrived to checkin in my bag early so I could relax in the airport only to be created with a sign stating that no one would be available to assist me until 4 PM which was two hours later? I then proceeded to pay by the kiosk to check my bag to be safe but then was unable to leave it. I then had to still carry the bag around only to return and be at the back of an extremely long line of people waiting. I finally get through then proceeded to my gate 17 to checkin. Once one the plane I noticed several people with bags the size of mine as carry on which meant I just wasted $52. I was extremely disgusted because I could have possibly had this issue resolved and saved my hard earned money if someone was at the baggage checkin desk."

Your check in and additional fees are the worst experience iv ever had ... Delta United Airlines Jet blue Southwest All are eaiser to navigate there checkin and pricing is all included"
Cons: "The flight was delayed by weather. However, the Spirit e-mails were inaccurate and I almost missed boarding because I believed the e-mails and the airport board. When I, by chance checked the board, I found out that the incoming plane in question had landed and, therefore, went to the gate and learned that Spirit had "secretly" moved things up and would soon close the door. Had I believed the e-mail from Spirit, I would have been left -- and they would have blamed it on me -- because I relied on Spirit's e-mails."
Pros: "Cheaper flights is a nice option just buy your bags before you arrive at airport"

Cons: "My Flight was suppose to depart at 1:25 p.m and was delayed until 2:15. When I got to the terminal the flight had been moved to 4 different terminals and then was taken down all together until one of the other spirit airlines flights left. This ultimately ended up putting is at a 2 hour delay on flight and almost caused me to miss my connecting flight. If it weren't for a good amount of other people needing the connection flight that I needed I would have missed my flight."
Cons: "We were in the airport, past security, in the terminal waiting to board a plane that never showed up. Kayak sent an email saying the flight was cancelled. There was no indication from Spirit through electronic communication, notifications on their in airport boards, and there were not even any spirit employees in the airport terminal. I called spirit. They confirmed that the flight was cancelled and assured me that it was okay and that they would be able to get me on another flight... in eight days. Yes, really, 8 days. I demanded a refund, flew with another airline, and vowed to never fly spirit again."
Cons: "I became sick with a highly contagious bacterial infection the day before my flight! I called Spirit to try to book a flight on a later date when I was well! No way no how! I guess Spirit would have rather I fly infecting many people. Instead of working with me! Sad Airline first and last attempt to fly this Airline!"
Cons: "an hour after our supposed boarding time, we were told that the plane needed to reboot but I would still make my connection flight in Ft Lauderdale. After another 2 hours I was then told that I can board the flight which was now leaving at 3 am opposed to the scheduled 9:30 pm flight, but they did not have another connection flight until the next evening at 9:30. Eventually, I had to cancel my flight and was refunded my money. I spent another 2 hours trying to get my luggage off the plane and the both women, one ticket agent and another Spirit employee were attempting to help me, when i went back to the desk they were gone and didn't return. I had to contact the Tampa Airport so that they could find a Spirit Airline employee to get my luggage. I finally received my luggage at 3:30 am. I had to stay in the airport because my next flight through another carrier was leaving at 730 am. I will NEVER even think about booking another flight with Spirit!! Their customer service was horrible and inconsiderate of any of the patrons who were traveling on that flight. Unfortunately my trip was not for pleasure but due to a loss in the family and they didn't seem to have a care in the world about anyone's cancelled flight. Amongst the few hours that I sat there, every other person that was on the same flight continually complained that this is not their first time traveling with Spirit and there always seemed to be an issue, either flights departing late and being cancelled completely"
Pros: "I liked that I was boarded in group 1. I don't know how that was selected but I was happy to receive that option. The travelers on the flight were all very friendly. I'm not sure if it was because I was surrounded by Midwesterners or if those of us who fly on Spirit are a weird bunch. There was a collective sarcasm about Spirit and the quality of the airlines expressed by the passengers. No bashing, lightly comical."
Cons: "I did not like the lack of interest by the flight attendants. I understand that this is a budget airline, but a smile shouldn’t cost extra. It felt as if we were inconveniencing the crew with our presence on the plane. They did not seem to enjoy their job very much at all. The seats on the plane were very close together. There was very little room in any direction. I was glad to have an aisle seat. I felt that the baggage fees were excessive. The website claims that the airline is more cost effective because the travelers only pay for what they use. My expectation was to receive a low cost flight, pay for my bags as necessary and receive an overall savings to the other airlines. I was willing to give up some comfort for cost savings. At the end of it all however, THERE WERE NO COST SAVINGS. The “discounted” base fare, plus the bag fees ended up costing more than the other airlines. What I gave up in comfort did not justify the costs that I had to pay financially. I will not make that decision again. My overall experience with Spirit was dissatisfaction. In the future I will make other arrangements."

Cons: "The seats were extremely close to the passengers in the row in front of us and didn't recline. Had to wait 45 minutes at baggage claim for bags to appear. No one from Spirit told us what was happening. After 45 minutes there was a voice announcement that an oversized wheel chair had caused the delay. After another five minutes our luggage appeared. My brand new suit case arrived with structural damage and was filthy - like it had been dropped and dragged. Reported this to Spirit personnel and not one of them apologized for the inconvenience. We took it o a luggage repair shop and it is a complete loss. Very unhappy Spirit customer."
Cons: "Spirit cancelled our flight. Spent 4+ hours on the phone attempting to reschedule. After requesting to speak to a manager I was told I would get a call back within 3 to 24 hours. When I spoke to a manager, I was told that Spirit only had a flight available 2 days later, that I had waited too long to reschedule my flight (I called spirit immediately and waited in hold for hours), and that spirit would do nothing to offset the cost of having to spend two extra days waiting for the flight they offered me 48 hours later than scheduled. We cancelled our flight and spent extra money booking last minute flights on another airline. Will never fly spirit again and will advise anyone that's asks to do the same."

Cons: "The seats were narrow and incomfortable, without the ability to recline. The crew members were snotty and rude. The flight was delayed and then when everyone was boarded, the captain said we were waiting for a crew member to show up. We left 45 minutes late without apology. But the whole "experience" started with the agent at the counter. She was rude and disrespectful. I will not be returning to Spirit and will tell my friends and family that I will pay for the difference so they can fly on a legitimate airline."
Pros: "I did not experience long lines while boarding. I like how it was simply zones and not time spent calling a variety of different types of members. I randomly picked my seat and ended up in the first row with a larger seat, leg room, and a large armrest. This was a first for me and I was so much more comfortable than any other flight I have taken. The crew was personable and seemed genuinely nice."
