Cabin crew was excellent. Personable, always smiling, always checking to make sure everyone was settled and comfortable. There was a "strobe effect" flickering bulb in the down lighting from above the window that randomly started happening during the flight. Steward noticed the issue right away and fixed (changed to lower light setting, also let the window passenger know about the fix) without having to be asked for assistance. Bags arrived at carousel within reasonable amount of time.
It would have been nice to know when I bought my ticket that I was going to need to pay extra for everything. I didn't really wind up saving money in the end. The seating is TOO "cozy". I would not fly with this airline again unless it was a very short flight and I could fit all my luggage in a backpack.
Relatively cheap prices. You can avoid any king of baggage fees by using a back pack
They have fees for everything, which I understand that's how they are able to give you the illusion of cheap flights. But some fees don't make sense like having to pay more for a carry on than a checked bag.
Why do you have to go to Chicago when flying from FL to AZ?
Why do we have to witness flight crew removing man with dog from flight? Why didn't anyone think BEFORE they took him into a window seat in economy that the dog wouldnt STUFF under the seat? Why didn't they make accommodations for him instead of turning back the flight and removing him from the plane?
First time and last time I will ever use this Airline. Made my ticket months ago. Checked in one and half hours early for them to say sorry we cannot print your boarding passes and you cannot get on this flight. They did not have a care in the world that I had connecting flights to catch in ORD then onto ANC. No reason other than a boarding pass not printing of which was not my problem. Supervisor had absolutely no customer skills. They are Vendors and do not work directly with the company. I had to quickly find another flight to get me to ORD I ended up getting a ticket on American costing much more and again Spirit did nothing to help. They also charge for your bags either on the plane or checked. I had to pay 55 for a 21 in to place above head. What a farce. I fly all the time and I have pre-check with TSA (they do not use pre-check) as they tried to make this my fault. Yes I said my fault. Buyer beware, they may be inexpensive, but you get what you pay for is the bottom line!
The seat were hard, uncomfortable and did not recline at all with little to no knee room.
The charge of $55 for a carry on which was free on American Airlines on our return trip was overboard.
The charge of $55 for a checked bag was $30 higher than American Airlines which we used for our return trip.
Now that we know the nickel and dime method of Spirit we will check out other airlines but in this case it was an emergency flight where my wife's brother eventually died in the hospital and we had to get there quickly and flew Spirit. Thanks for having 2 seats available on short notice for this emergency flight.
Too much to list. But start with the fact that nickel and diming makes this airline no cheaper than anyone else.
So you pay the same for terrible service, smaller seats, and a miserable overall experience.
We flew united on our way to forida and we had a layover our first flight got delayed so we missed our second flight. Then on our way back they tried doing the same thing. The lady at the counter thank god ran down to delta and got us a flight to atlanta then to st louis. I think united just doesnt want to pay for a hotel room when they are the ones that kept delaying it. It was a nightmare and i dont plan on flying united again.
Flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues after waiting for 3 hours. The next flight they put me on was the next day on another airline. They put us up in a shity hotel and the meal vouchers only worked at the airport where everything was closed by then or hotel which had no restaurant.
United offered a $50 compensation which is a kick in the teeth compared to the inconvenience I was put trough. If I don't get properly compensated from United for that horrible experience I will never fly them again and tell everyone I know to never fly United.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
