Pros: "Boarding was strange - it was still in groups although we were shuttled to our airplane. I was glad it wasn’t a packed flight as I wasn’t smushed by my neighbors in the seats. Very little turbulence, smooth taking off and landing. I like that I was able to watch free movies without having to pay for WiFi."

My Hawaiian flight was great, great customer service, seating and leg room was great. If I could have and should have flown Hawaiian instead of Alaska. I like Alaska Airlines but truely the plane I was on was old, crowded and hated the flight. Alaska could step up to the plate and provide a better experience. If I gauged my experience on Alaska through today's flight I would never fly them again. Really Alaska I know you can do better."

The flight attendants did nothing but gossip about other flight attendants (good and bad), their home life,etc. One rammed me with the cart & their body, woke me up, didn't even apologize. Just felt it was rude. I pay for my flight. I was trying to rest on my 4 hour flight before I had to tend to daughter who had cancer, I need the rest. And for what I paid, I should be able to. Not listen to Alaska's drama within."

Pros: "A Flight attendant went beyond the call of duty when she found me after I had returned to my seat. This was after I had walked to the rear of the acft to work out a bad cramp in my thigh. She provided me with a hot water bottle that did wonders in relieving the pain and stopped the cramp from returning."

She helped me get booked on a flight that would arrive in time and was so comforting! In fact, all employees that evening were so helpful. Even when the engine wouldn't start on connecting flight in Seattle and we had to return to gate, delaying flight quite a while,?Captain kept us well informed of what was going on and was very apologetic and very quickly, Alaska airlines sent me an email with a credit towards another flight because of the inconvenience!! THANK YOU Alaska Airline, Taeao and employees working on the evening of June 20 at HNL!!!!!"

Pros: "Check in was very smooth and stress free. There was a representative available to assist with printing our bag tag and getting our agricultural tag for our bags. Boarding and take off were on time and arrival was early. The only negative is that my wife and I were unable to sit together on the flight. That being said we are impressed enough to consider becoming members of Alaskan Airlines."
Pros: "What did I like about my flight?...Not much! Was not allowed to pick seat assignment during reservations.Called two days before returning for seat assignment...Told must do at airport day of. Arrived at airport 6 hours early day of and was assigned 31F (only32rows) tried to change as I really wanted near front, isle seat... was turned down but guy and wife in line behind me changed thier's from back to row 6.... I endured 31F surrounded by sick coughing, sniffing, snotty nosed, sneezing people and crying children for next 6 hours...I've been back almost a week and just now feeling well enough to venture out...I will never travel Alaska airlines if they won't give me an acceptable seat assignment... Hawaiian Airlines trip there was wonderful!"

I have been trying to maintain status by flying with Alaska or its partner. But I kind of regret paying the extra. I should just pay the cheapest, because I've got the cheapest service anyway. They don't give me a free drinks, until I ask for it. And then when I request for a chocolate, they give me an either or choice. Well, if everything is on good timing, I would be fine. Since the delay, I thought they would make it up at the service ... Nah ... Oh well, next year, just find a better value airline. I hope Alaska would dump all their service, and adopt entirely virgin service. The only good thing about Alaska is probably its operation."

Pros: "We have been traveling to Hawaii and especially Kauai for years. We love the fact that we don't have to fly into Honolulu and transfer to the Inter-Island Terminal with Alaska. This saves a lot of time and there is a lot less hassle. We upgraded to Preferred Seats which are in the Exit Rows and with the extra leg room, it is really nice especially if you have someone in the window seat. We don't eat anything on the plane because we usually head to our favorite restaurant once we land."

I asked her what kind of juice she had and she grabbed the card from the seat in front of me and without saying a word stuck it in my face. Very impatient. she seem to be in a hurry so I was irritated and asked her to just give me a water. When I asked for water, she replied by saying "After all of that, that's all you want? ". Very unpleasant experience."

These parents aren’t held to any modicum of manners or basic respect for the other passengers around them. If I say something I’m the awful person, when I paid the same amount if not more than that awful child who kicked the back of seat and screamed the whole 5 hrs home. I’m not talking new parents navigating a baby and crying, that’s gonna happen. I am talking about the hideous humans who have decide to have children and check out on being a parent. I appreciate that because sometimes I feel like crew won't say what's really going on to a passenger for what ever reason. It's just a psychology I guess. Not the case here. The woman who waited on me was sympathetic to my diet and had empathy for me. She also gave me a little extra of something they had to ration when first doing diner service. I thought that was sweet. Happy about the blanket provided and pillow"
Cons: "Why on earth would you only offer one choice for a meal??? I don't eat chicken. I feel bad for all the vegetarians and vegans on that flight. Hawaii is a healthy place and should be represented in the meal on the plane. The food was bland and for someone to who doesn't eat a lot of meat it was very disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that there was NO movie on the way there and the in flight entertainment wouldn't work on my computer was really disappointing. Then on the way back I had to pay to watch!? I'm fuming about this. I HATE that airlines are doing this. It is greedy and gross."

The crew gave me the seat on the way there because their system was not working correctly and didn't tell me I would have to pay for it on the way back. Upon my return I was unable to print out my return flight boarding pass without paying for the upgrade."

The skillfullness of the pilots in avoiding several spots of potential turbulance. Bags arrived promply and without incident. (Thank you!!) HA is generally so much more pleasant than nearly every other US airline; thank you so much!"

The limited choice of movies involving non-juvenile topics - would have appreciated at least 4 or 5 films to select from that involved some kind of sophistocated comedy, mixed with a touch of drama or high-quality story line. (Did select "The Big Sick" which was of very high calibre, but no other choices existed that were similar to this style blending comedy with deeper and reflective themes.) The small sizes of the snacks, which were actually very tasty (chicken teriyaki warm sandwich and potato chips)."

I suggest a way for the captain to write a message to passengers updating them on the flight that they can access on the TV so there aren't as many announcements on overhead flights"

Cons: "Every time i try to use the hawaiiain air app it may work at home then when I switch networks on my iphone i get the blue page in the app saying "The page cannot be displayed". The few times i've flown with hawaiian (3 this year) each time i try to use the app at the airport it fails, so i have to print out my boarding pass. The ios hawaiian app is not even an app, it's like a slimmed down browser just displaying a web page formatted for a smartphone screen size. What a poor excuse of an app. Do you have an application department devoted to maintaining this app? If so they are horrible. Go look at the ios reviews of the app, i'm not the only one. I can't wait for more competition to come to hawaii against your flights. You folks won't do a thing until some alternative airlines come down."

Any movie even old like Beatle juice for example was 7.99 per movie, tv shows were also 7.99. I have fly about every couple months both in USA and internationally, and all US carriers are by far the worse service."

Cons: "We were not assigned seats when we purchased our tickets. We called to try to get seat assignments and they told us to talk to a gate agent. When we went to the airport to checkin, there were NO gate agents at checkin. You had to check in on a computer and then drop our bag at the agriculture screening point. We went to guest services and they told us to go to the gate. We went to the gate and it was closed with no one there. We asked information and they sent us to guest services. Guest services then got snippy with us and told us to wait at the gate. So, we didn't even know if we would be able to sit together or if we'd be stuck with middle seats on the 5 hour flight until an hour before the flight left. Ultimately, our seats were fine, but the fact that no one could or would help us and the help that was there was completely useless and kind of nasty, convinced us to NEVER FLY HAWAIIAN AIRLINES AGAIN. Oh, and on the plane, they have an inflight entertainment screen on each seat, however, you have to pay for EVERY movie on it. This was not the case on Alaska Airlines, where entertainment was free."

Cons: "The middle aisle section of our plane was quite cold and blankets were expensive $10. Next time I will bring one. I was cold in my jeans and light sweater. The touch-screens at each seat were frustratingly and unpredictably unresponsive. The check-in process in Honolulu Airport for Hawaiian Airlines was hands-down the most time-consuming, confusing, and crowded one I have ever been through. Kiosk screen had too much info at once so even savvy kiosk users were very slow to go through process. We had already checked in online 24 hrs prior but that didnt save us any time as we had to stand in the kiosk lines with everyone else to print our bag tags then another line to just drop our bags. Entering this check-in area was a shock to the system as it looked like a mass of people. We were directed to a vague direction where our line should be, then after standing in that line for 10 minutes we were told by a fellow customer that we had to go to a different line amd basically start over. Then came the security check line. We made it to the front looking the whole time for a designated spot to dump our kids' water bottles out (our San Diego airport has a liquid dumping spot with a sign), to no avail. Finally at the front of the line the TSA agent is about to check our boarding pass and my husband inquires about where to dump the water bottles. The agent and front of the line line is situated less than 10 feet from the wall where a drinking fountain is, but of course in our way there is a plastic half-wall barrier (the one to guide the line toward her). She tells us we have to dump it there in the drinking fountains. However the kicker is we have to get out of line to do it--can't be let out and come back to her. Have to wait in the security check line again. No, I'm not kidding. So I decide to take all water bottles and my husband takes the kids on through the security check. When I come back to get back in the security check line the person working at the entrance of that line actually was asking every single person whether they had water--guess she forgot to ask us the first time we went through... bummer. We had arrived at the airport more than 3 hours before our Tuesday 2pm flight. With stopping to eat lunch in the terminal and going through these multiple lines, by the time we got to our gate, boarding had already begun. Boarding from gate to plane went fine."

Then had to suffer through an emergency landing due to hydraulic failure on the flight back to New York. Was not a fun experience watching the fuel being dumped into the ocean for an hour."

Cons: "Seven-hour delay due to mechanical failure. They finally found a new aircraft but one of the forward exit doors was inop so they had to rope off first and kick everyone in back to coach. This made a lot of people angry-- one so much so that he had to be ejected from the plane. This meant another hour of delay AFTER WE WERE ONBOARD. All the while, the only updates anyone got were along the lines of "There's a delay and we're working to remedy the situation." No explanation as to what was happening or when we would be taking off. Then, as if that wasn't enough, they announced that the flight crew was now over their legal limit for consecutive hours and they would have to find a new crew. I'm surprised there wasn't a full-on riot at this point. Everyone managed to remain calm, though, through the additional 1.5 hours we remained there waiting for the new crew-- with no compensation, no free drinks, not even WATER. Inexcusable, Hawaiian Air. You just lost a customer."

Cons: "Stood in line for 2 hours at Honolulu Airport to drop off bags. We had to be pulled out of the line as our flight was boarding and had to run to the gate. There was no time to eat or anything else. The flight attendants are not helpful nor do they smile much. I asked for something minor on two of the Hawaiian Airlines flight legs on my trip and was told they would come to my seat to see me. (One was for an extra blanket as I had cold air blowing on me and the other was to take my rubbish) They never did. I have never encountered this with any Airline before."

The space between rows is already very tight and becomes really uncomfortable when the seat in front of you is reclined."

I booked a direct flight but because a restroom issue, flight stopped and 2-hour delay was added. any movie is the price a movie theater ticket $8! For an 11-hour flight, it could be free or at least few old movies should be available in the complimentary package."

Cons: "I booked KLM flights (Cork - Tampa return) but the planes were in fact Aer Lingus and Delta. So I have no idea what KLM is like. When I checked in at Cork the ground staff could only give me a boarding card for the first flight. For the second one she said I would have to go to the Delta counter in Amsterdam. It was difficult to find a counter there or staff as check-in was all by computer. The computer kept saying 'error' when I put in my code. I eventually was directed to a KLM desk (nicely hidden). I was told that my seat no longer existed. At this point the flight was ready to board. Thankfully the KLM ground staff were extremely helpful and reassuring and upgraded my ticket to economy comfort. On the way back, I could only get a boarding card for my first flight. The second two I had to collect at the boarding gate of the second flight."

The carry on luggage section was impossibly small so I had to gatecheck my bag and it took five minutes to get my bag back. Given the tight connection, this created additional anxiety."

The problem was never fixed and we haven’t flown home yet. We have new flights booked on Delta but only because Delta took pity....West Jet does no refunds or reticketing. If flights are missed you're out on of luck!"

From the quick boarding, super friendly gate agents, and flight crew, to the free on board entertainment, Delta has won me over once again. Oh and did I mention how great it is to board a flight, relax and watch a good movie, take a small nap, and deplane at your destination! Awesome!!"

By the grace of God we were able to cram two checked bags worth of stuff into our carry ons which I still do not know how we did that, and were fine. On the flight we had a decently nice lady and a horrible male. When passing out drinks he seemed almost irritated that we had asked for water and rudely gave it to us which was room temperature. He totally skipped the lady in the row with us and got irritated when she asked for a water as well."

After more calls put me in another United flight later that night which also finally got cancelled. I had to book a new flight with delta and paid $460 on the spot for that. Still awaiting my refund from American for the return leg which was cancelled and left a lady traveling alone stranded at Detroit airport in the night. Apology or compensation -- forget it, you will never get that! Only now if they can refund my cancelled flight..."

Cons: "The flight was originally scheduled to take off at 8:20 pm, but due to several delays did not end up getting off the ground until after 11 pm. After being in the air for about 45 minutes we were informed that there were issues with the engine and that we would be turning around and heading back to Dallas. By this point it was after midnight, and although I was appreciative that safely is a priority, there was no communication as to what the next steps were. After landing we were finally told that we would have to deplane, and after we sat around the gate for awhile we were informed that the flight would be delayed until 5 am. Being 12:50 am at this point a hotel would have been nice, but we were informed that AA was "out of hotels" but that if we wanted we could have a $12 food voucher to use at the one restaurant that was open several terminals over. The AA employee assisting in handing out the food vouchers seemed extremely unapologetic about the situation which didn't help with the frustration everyone was feeling. I will not be booking with AA again, and will be passing along my negative experience to family and friends. It is worth spending the extra money on a ticket for an airline that is more reliable with better customer service."

The AirTran took over 10-15min to arrive and when it finally did we had to get off and wait for another one which didn’t have space for everyone so a group of us had to wait even longer for the next one to arrive. A guy said he missed his flight last time that happened. They had more trains going to the parking lot for customers leaving the airport than they did for people catching their flights! Then there was only one security check in line, even for expedited check in. Despite allocating extra time for our overall commute, we still made it right on time for boarding so make sure to give yourself PLENTY of time when dealing with EWR."

I am under the impression that United is a partner of Lufthansa.and that they should honor the same Business class privileges as Lufthansa. I found it rather discriminatory act on the part of this particular employee of the United lounge at Chicago airport. Pl. bring it to the attention of the Lufthansa and United . Cons: "You sold me a ticket on Lufthansa. When I got to Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris I waited 45 minutes in line to check in with Lufthansa. When I got to the counter they said they had no record of my reservation. When I showed them the Lufthansa reservation they told me it actually was for a United flight, even though it clearly said Lufthansa . I had to wait another 45 minutes in the United line to retrieve my boarding pass, then about another hour to go through passport control and security. I barely made my flight. I will never make a reservation through Kayak again. I am deleting your app."
Pros: "Quick, comfortable, smooth, and pleasant"
Cons: "We were frustrated because we chose United flights but then got put on Island air from Maui to Honolulu who has completely different baggage guidelines and ended up costing us quite a bit more because our carry-ones weren't 16 lbs or below. I don't like things like that, so I wasn't very happy with that part of the trip. I don't think that is United's fault-probably Kayak's. Flying in general just isn't pleasant anymore. The crews aren't happy or fun and they've gotten so cheap on everything, and charge you out the nose for everything. The airplanes weren't clean. My 2 year old had to brush off a seat of crumbs on her seat before she sat down! Just sad where it's gotten in this crazy world. We used to love to fly, and now we are just always glad to be done with the flights!"

Cons: "Sat on tarmac for 1 hour after landing. I know that wasn't the crews fault. But they could have given more frequent updates and at least told us what gate we were at so we could have a better idea when trying to frantically make our connections. Also the entertainment was pricey for a 5 hour flight that I paid good money for. I thinK basic movies should just be included in the fees"
