Pros: "The back restroom was kept clean throughout the flight. A meal was served."
Pros: "Crew was knowledgeable about islands."
Cons: "There were no precautions taken due to Covid. It felt very crowded and gave us a feeling of insecurity."
Cons: "Broken backup computer not identified until 5 minutes before takeoff. Pilot said would be delayed one hour. Delayed four hours and didn’t get in until midnight, with busy day at work next day. Four hours is a lot longer than one hour. Just say four hours up front. Luckily we didn’t have to make a connecting flight. I would have been quite upset if I missed a connecting flight because they said it would only be a one hour delay and I didn’t try to switch to another flight because I was falsely told it would only be one hour."

Cons: "As is an issue with all Hawaiian Airlines flights, there is no fan/ temperature control option and I tend to feel motion sick if I don’t have cool air blowing towards me. It also helps me feel less trapped. But, all was fine because it wasn’t a full flight and I didn’t have someone sitting next to me."

Cons: "I knew, based on my flight to Hawaii, that there was no included entertainment - a big disappointment. I also knew their food would be mediocre. However, I had called the airline before our trip to request vegetarian meals. We were told that was taken care of. On the flight, we were told that the only meals on that flight were very mediocre chicken sandwiches. Thus, we had no meals."
Cons: "We ended up upgrading because kayak doesn’t let you assign a seat and we were the last to get a seat on a very full flight. I will never use Kayak again."
Pros: "The people working the flight were nice. They treated my luggage well, they didn’t event break a wheel! The people were really great"
Cons: "The food was horrible, like a dog barfed chicken into a sloppy joe and then they microwaved it in a bag and let it sit for a day. Cookies were surprisingly delicious by comparison. The TV monitor/screens had movies that were expensive, but also the subtitles didn’t work and the headphone jack was messed up so it was really hard to hear anything. It was kinda quiet and crackling. It wasn’t like that when I plugged it into my phone. The seats were so small that I ended up getting my headphones ripped up just trying to be considerate of other passengers. My flight back didn’t even have movie options. Just 6 hours of light turbulence tickling my sciatica to the soundtrack of multiple screaming children. My girlfriends family and she were several rows up, where I was supposed to be, but I didn’t get the seat I booked so I just stared at them from zone 4 like the pauper I am."

Cons: "It is unfortunate that the staff works for an airline that is such a bargain basement in terms of customer service. We booked in January through priceline. Hawaiian airlines cancelled the late night flight we had paid for, and by cancel I mean the 10PM flights were cancelled across the board. We were put on an earlier flight, but they cancelled our seats, and "lost" the fact we had already paid more for extra leg room. So we paid $240 for something that they said we had no proof of. Despite that it was clear we had paid way more than the ticket would have cost otherwise, which we kept telling them."

Cons: "I meant to book a flight for my brother, but because I was logged into kayak, it automatically put me as the passenger. I didn't realize the mistake until 2 hours before the flight. Couldn't transfer the ticket into his name so we just lost the money and had to rebook him a flight. I'm irritated that I wasn't even prompted to enter passenger's name/info and that I didn't catch the mistake earlier. I'm also irritated that Hawaiian airlines couldn't do anything but give me a travel voucher that would cost $200 in fees to use, which was the original price of the ticket."

Cons: "They take such pride in serving a free meal, but don’t provide any options for special diets, either on board, or prior to check in. The magazine shows beautiful salads but they didn’t have anything fresh at all. The flight attendant came through with lunch sandwiches and told me I could buy something from the snack menu after they had cleaned up after the lunch service. She returned with the menu (which was all junk food) and never came back to see if I wanted to order anything. The plane was absolutely frigid, there was no entertainment."

This was the first flight I’ve been on with excessive advertising, and the TVs couldn’t be shut off or dimmed when this was occurring. We used to love this airline but tonight’s flight them down there with every other bottom feeder airline."

Cons: "I am not going to pin point Hawaiian as the worst, I think all airlines just do not care anymore. I have a huge bruise on my upper side leg from trying to get up and down from my aisle seat for people to go to the bathroom. Even with the arm up it was hard to get up and down, the seats are way to close or I need to weigh 110 lbs. How do large men do it? I would not say I am a large person."

Cons: "I did not like how rude the people were behind me, putting their feet on my chair, between my chair and the other chair next to me, screaming and hitting the back of my chair because the screan was not working properly.( this is only some examples of what they did) I know the behavior of the people flying on your airline is out of your control but I needed to give you the reason why I put only three stars on comfort and experience. Other than that I didn’t like how I had to pay for any entertainment provided by the airline."

Coach is incredibly dense with minimal recline. Our flight sat roasting at the gate w difficulty starting the engines for an hour and only a verbal apology given - if you’re going to nickle and dime the customer, be prepared to make amends when things don’t go well."

Went to get boarding pass- had a small rolling suitcase (bought specifically for carry on and have used for last two years flying 6+ times per year) and a shoulder bag/purse. A woman flagged me down a so walked by saying my rolling case was too large an too heavy. I said “oh no i use this everytime i fly. It’s specifcally for carry on. Also it’s not even full so there’s no way it’s too heavy” also how would she know by looking how much it weights? In short she got very angry at me and said i have no choice but to check it. Then went over to counter and the lady said “you don’t need to check this is the correct size” she was very nice and i explained what happened. I’m just telling you this as maybe some of the newer employees are taking their jobs too seriously. Aloha!"

Cons: "Plane showed up 2 1/2 hours late. Seats in terminal were very uncomfortable and staff had no clue what was going on. They had 3 flights trying to leave from same gate at same time. Plane seats were also very uncomfortable. Once plane was boarded and on way pilot came on and blamed the delay on maintenance issues and weather. Airline delay caused 2 hour delay getting our rental car. We didn't get to our lodging until midnight and should have been there by 7 pm."

Cons: "The aircraft this time was pretty outdated. Out of the 5 seats we had most were somewhat broken (my bottom seats was literally sliding out as I moved around once in a while. It was coming apart! My tray table had a broken cup holder, and rest of the tray tables were very wobbly). I was disappointed with the no WiFi or complementary inflight entertainment/movies for the 4.5 hour flight."

Airlines are also nickel and diming the passengers every which way by making you pay for a tablet rental to watch a movie."

I'm suppose to photograph my friends wedding tomorrow which I'm going to miss his ceremony AND my mom lost one day of work which is a huge deal and ONE day of being in Hawaii out of the four days we planned. I got it as a gift for her, and now were both in our apartment in orange doing nothing, when we are suppose to be arriving to hawai for the first time ever. So upset, and sad and bummed. What a let down. 41 min before our flight and there was nothing anyone could have done. I was on your site for over an hour checking all the guidelines about bags, carry ons, where we need to be and i didn't check in time at all. I just can believe this, a hotel room paid will be empty, and well be here waiting until tomorrow so we could repeat the same thing this morning. waking up at 530 a, heading to LAX in traffic from orange . why."

Pros: "No A/C while on the ground and it got very very hot waiting to take off. Then no entertainment or power supple for the entire flight. I had heard many good things about this airline before, but NONE were fulfilled. Won't fly again or recommend. They could have at least offered so compensation or at least a couple of drinks."
Pros: "I appreciated the staff assistance, even though I didn't appreciate the airline's protocol. I purchased seats next to each other, when I checked in 22.5 hours before the flight we (2) were split up. The airline told us our option was to purchase upgrades to sit next to each other. I waited patiently for 3 hours before the flight and spoke with a few gate attendants. They were accommodating and put us together, even though they moved us to the rear-most section of the plane and into the center section. Great free music stations."
Cons: "Having a meal on the flight is awesome! Not offering a vegetarian option (and cooking the meat in with the starch) meant that my fiance had nothing to eat but cookies and crackers. Also, overhead bin area was limited, mostly due to passengers bringing larger and larger 'carry-ons' (which are not actually carry-on sized). Hawaiian needs to be more strict about their carry-on sizes for rolling bags. They should fit wheels-in, not wheels to the side. Finally, media is available for free, but only for advertisement and promotion, entertainment media is only available for purchase."

Cons: "First class seats are miserably uncomfortable, barely wider than a coach seat. Only difference I Can tell is that it has more padding. Foot rest is unbelievably unfunctional. Food was good but no wine or refill of the other beverages was offered with the meal. Flight crew as polite, but wooden and unengaging. Baggage claim at destination was efficient. I only fly with this airline , and in first class, because I have sooooo many miles.. if that weren't the case I would try someone else. Who knows , maybe they would not be any better."
Pros: "I missed the Kahului flight so my second leg started in Honolulu. Pilot aborted the take off half way down the runway. Said there was an indication light that said the brakes had heated up and it would be 15 minutes to let them cool. Then said we would have go back to gate, saying it would be a little longer. These "little longer" efforts went on for just short of 3 hours! When we got in on the other end the gate was unavailable and we were forced to wait another hour on the ground there. 9 FREAKING hours in that plane next to gal and her toddler in her lap... bummer for me, but this poor gal missed her connection to CLEVELAND... gave me a perspective of what REALLY SUCKS."

Cons: "Didn't like the complimentary "stir fry" chicken and rotten cabbage salad. Guess they had to give it away cause if you paid for it you would want a refund and a barf bag. No movies anymore? I guess we were spoiled by Alaskans free wifi and downloads from their app on the flight there. But if there was any entertainment we couldn't have heard if over the crying children. The attendants were sour pusses, not a smile among them. They gave attitude with their service. I kind of felt their pain with the 15-20 screaming toddlers that were uncomfortable and begging for help. How about getting rid of the first class area and making a day care area where children can move about rather than parents up and down the aisles sharing the misery with us all. Didn't have the courtesy to alert us to our baggage terminal. I don't think I will ever get used to paying for my small bag to be stowed rather than fill up the passenger area."

Cons: "While we were in the Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria lounge, they should've let us know that we were about to miss our flight. Especially with taking care of an 8 month of baby, sometimes you lose track of time. We missed the original flight even though we had asked the front desk agent to contact the gate to hold it for us for a few minutes. When we arrived at the gate, the ramp had already been retracted so we missed our flight. Next flight was the next day so we had to rent another rental car, another night's hotel totaling an extra $200 in Waikiki. At least they changed my flight without fees. But overall a bad experience."

Cons: "Flight out Airline gave me a standard seat although paid for extra room. I have a bad back so needed the room to sit forward in my seat. The row in front of me was extra room and the family sitting there said had booked their reservation the day before the flight. Same thing happened on return flight but I was smart enough to call ahead and fix. but got bounced around on the phone to 3 people including tech support to confirm seats. Bery frustrating. Boarded us 30 minutes late, no one knew what row was called as could not hear the announcements. People were being sent to the back of the line. Complete chaos. Then the unprofessional gate crew told about 200 of us that the captain wanted to leave and the door would close in one minute so hurry up. Not a fan of the airline."
Cons: "The flight was horrible.Delayed for over 7 hours Maui, with the crew giving us "30 min" updates which weren't updates at all except that we don't have an update, finally after 5-6 hours, they gave us meal vouchers and told us to come backt to the holding area at a certain hour. Then, when we got back they told us we were going to be flying over to Honolulu and picking up the new flight crew, I PAID FOR A NON STOP TICKET! NOT ONLY DID WE FLY TO HONALULU, THEY MAKE ALL OF US GET OFF THE PLANE AGAIN AND GET ON AGAIN AFTER 1-1.5 HOURS. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME AT 9:50PM ON SATURDAY NIGHT, INSTRAD LANDED AT LAX ON SUNDAY AT 7AM. NO ONE WANTS TO TALK REFUND, IT WAS A MESSY SITUATION - SEVERAL CUSTOMERS WHERE ONT HE PHONE WITH BOTH HAWAIIN AIRLINES AND PRICELINE, KAYAK TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON."

Pros: "Airbus aircraft was in nice condition. Cabin was clean and relatively quiet, aircraft design isolated in-flight wind and engine noises. Takeoff and landing was smooth. Piloting crew was professional. Most of the flight attendants were very hospitable."
Cons: "One flight attendant was consistently rude and grumpy. She is definitely in the wrong end of the business. Flight was only half-full and I feel flight crew should have been more attentive. It was an afternoon flight, and no was was expecting to sleep. I had to get out of my seat to ask for coffee and water refills more than once. Hey, flying nowadays requires you stay in your seat as much a possible, and to that end the attendants should help, not continue to do as little as possible and the bare minimum."

We have never flown with this carrier before, but we expected better."

Cons: "Since I bought my tickets through Kayak, when my flight was canceled the night before I was to leave, it took Hours to get the ticket problem straightened out with me on an earlier flight. I was called back by Kayak minutes after I finally got off the phone to be told That flight was now canceled. Another hour on the phone to get to a 3rd flight arranged. I arrived early and saw everyone sitting around, went to the counter to be told this flight was now delayed. Also was told that the EARLIER Flight I had been changed to, Went off on Time! So I was Lied to. Waited hours as they moved the departure time 4 times! Went through an agonizing security search. Took an hour in a freezing plane to get to Pittsburgh. Missed my flight OF Course and had to pay money for a ticket change and go stand by, barely getting on a connecting flight. I call it the Travel Day From Hell!!!"

Didn't know what to expect when I got to Lancaster but it was really easy. I'm going to do it again. Hour and a half plan ride is better then 15 hour drive"

Cons: "I had this airline booked several times (4 flights to be exact) and every. single. time. the flight was either cancelled or changed in some way. In the first instance, the second leg was moved three hours ahead, causing the second leg to depart before the first one, so I had to cancel it. In the second, the first leg was moved three hours before the initial departure time, and I had to cancel it due to scheduling issues. The third time I tried to take this airline, the first leg was cancelled completely and in turn my return flight was also cancelled. Each time, they informed be THE NIGHT BEFORE the flight was supposed to leave that it was either cancelled or modified. Had I not booked all four of these flights at once months in advance, I wouldn't have booked it again after the first instance. Do you know how expensive it is to find alternate transportation THE NIGHT BEFORE you are trying to travel? I will never attempt to fly this airline again. They have a lot of work to do to gain the trust of their passengers and they are not doing it right by any means in my opinion."

Cons: "I never even took the flight - the layover was moved ahead by two hours THE DAY OF THE FLIGHT causing me to cancel my flight, since the layover was then leaving before my first flight even took off! At that time, alternate flights were >$250 one way and I HAD to be at my destination the next day for a wedding. Southern Airways caused me hours of time spent planning and additional money to find alternate transportation. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND -- I am never flying with this airline again!"

Cons: "I traveled with a colleague from Dulles to Morgantown. Three issues arose: 1. We could not find the ticket counter at Dulles, and no one we asked knew where it was. This could easily be resolved by adding info about how to find the counter to the airline website. 2. My colleague's return flight was canceled and she was never notified. 3. When I went to check in for my return flight, I was told that I was not on the boarding list. It took 30 minutes to get me added to the list even though I had my confirmation. When I asked for an explanation the man at the ticket counter shared: "They're crazy [the customer service]. This happens all the time." Complete incompetence."

Pros: "I just loved Southern. It was so easy. I avoided the hassle of the main airport, the parking problems and the waiting in line. Everyone was so friendly. I will definitely fly Southern again!"

Cons: "I never even ended up on the plane. The departure time came and went with no communication from the desk agents I was sitting 10 feet away from. No communication about the flight being delayed was given until I asked. It was 3 hours later when they unceremoniously cancelled the flight. And because it was weather-related I didn't receive any of my money back. Worst travel day ever."
