Pros: "This was a completely booked flight during Xmas week, and the flight was delayed an hour. Alaska Air did a great job of accommodating these difficulties. When I checked in online they had a notice asking if we would volunteer to check bags for free because they knew overhead space would be tight. Once the flight was underway they announced they'd been able to reroute to save us some of that time. And the Alaska Air/Horizon connecting flight was also delayed, most likely to accommodate this large flight. The aircraft is wonderful--the plugs for devices at every seat plus free entertainment piped to our devices really helps to pass the time."

Flight attendants never asked if I wanted another beverage after initial service. It was an 8 hr flight. The first class meal was a tiny cheese plate. I was starving. For a $900 1 way ticket, I expect more of this airline Flight attendants seemed like they didn't want to be there. Wasn't feeling the love. it was a 12:30am flight. We are all tired, but c'mon. Smile a little."

Pros: "First off Bonnie at the boarding gate was phenomenal , She has an amazing disposition ( especially at 5:00 in the morning ) she greeted each and every customer by name and with a smile ! Our flight was delayed for 2 hours as we sat at the gate while problems were fixed . The Captain made sure he kept us informed as each problem occurred and was fixed . The rest of the flight crew remained patient and attentive , which of course kept all the customers onboard calm and patient as well . My daughter just moved to Seattle and if this is the norm for this airline I will continue to use them for my future visits ! Elizabeth"

Cons: "My initial flight was at 0800; I got to the gate before 0800 and was told I couldn't board the flight even though it was still at the gate and was still before the flight time. I had to pay to rebook my flight, spent over $200 in rides to and from airport, had additional parking fees and was several hours late to work. I have many family members who work in flight service so I understand that employees don't like to re-do paperwork; however, being there before the flight time and being denied cost a lot of work time and money. I have always had great experiences with Alaska so this one was quite a disappointment compared to their usual great service. :("

I'd I can hear them so can the other passengers. I will say my flight from Seattle to Anchorage was better. The Chicago to Seattle had me on the verge of tears. I think Delta may be choice to travel from now on. . I don't like paying all that $$ to be treated like I'm an irritation or nuisance on Mother's Day no less."

Cons: "This flight was terrible. Both legs of the flight were delayed due to non weather related events. We boarded the plane from BWI to PVD and sat for 1 hour at the gate while we were told we were waiting on 13 additional bags from late arriving flights to be loaded onto the plane. When I arrived at PVD my checked bag as well as the bags of several other passengers had not been loaded on to the plane. I spent an additional 1/2 hour or more locating a representative for my lost baggage. The lost baggage representative could not locate my bag and told me that she could not see information about where it was and I would have to contact the airport. I now have to be available during a 4 hour delivery window for my baggage delivery. Customer service is not available outside of business hours. I understand that bags get delayed, but to tell us the entire flight was delayed for 1 hour to load bags and then not have the bags arrive as they should is very misleading. To have a delayed baggage representative on the phone that can’t access the same information about my bag as the representative at the airport sets a very low standard. This is the last time I plan to fly with Southwest. I have lost confidence in them as an airline."

However when we boarded the plane and the cabin was closed, even I expected to depart close to our announced delayed time of 925p. But after a considerable wait and no word, finally we were told, around 940p, that we were waiting on 20 passengers and their luggage from a connecting flight. If that was the case to begin with, why board is early in the first place? Why not just tell us we’d wait till the connecting flight arrived for the rest of our passengers to join us? Instead, we waited on the plane, and even once the passengers were on board we THEN had to wait for their luggage AND the paperwork to be dealt with! A 1205a arrival became a 1a arrival, and then (no fault of Southwest Airlines), we had to deal with one luggage carousel pickup at Logan. It was a horrible end to a long night of travel."

They team obviously missed a huge opportunity to continue the boarding process smoothly. There were people putting smaller items and folding their coats up into the overhead bins so there wasn't enough room for anyone in boarding group C, and the end of B. Everyone went to the back of the plane looking for more overhead bin space when obviously if the flight attendant at the back would've communicated to the front then they could've checked backs and we would've only left 30 minutes late not 50."

Pros: "We were going to BUF for a wedding, connecting thru MDW from PHX and we had what looked like an emergency back at home. My husband got on the plane to BUF but I stayed at the MDW gate to see if I could resolve the issue or if I had to turn around and go home. The gate crew was so nice, helpful and understanding. They knew I might have to go home so one of the them asked if I had keys for our car back in PHX - I did not need keys but I needed garage door opener to get into my house and my husband had everything. So the gate crew member got on the plane, tracked down my husband and got the opener for me. The gate crew encouraged me to keep calling folks at home to see if we could fix it and one of them even found the next flight to BUF and told me there was room on it and they could get me on. Their demeanor was so calming and helpful, just what I needed as I was freaking out about the issue at home as well as missing a wedding in BUF. The gate door was closed by the time my home was resolved but the gate crew again assisted me - they told me to call my husband and see if he could get someone from the flight crew to let me on since folks at the gate couldn't do it (the door was closed and they had no access). The flight crew let me on! Minutes to spare, but I got on and my husband and I both made it to BUF. If it wasn't for the amazing gate crew, helping me out, offering suggestions and just being an overall calming influence, plus the flight crew who opened up the gate door for me, our trip could have been a disaster. So much love and thanks to everyone at SWA that day!!"

I'm not upset about the delays, but I'm very annoyed with the lack of communication."

I felt like she was giving me an annoyed face because I sat on the edge and am a big girl. I'm not that big. I'm sorry the flight was full and I sat there, but Ive never felt like people were looking at me before or judging me. I'm really not that big. Her never apologizing and being annoyed when walking by me made me sadly self conscience. The other flight attendant truly went above and beyond helping me. I've never felt body shamed or like people were judging me until this flight, though. That was sad to experience."

Cons: "I booked KLM flights (Cork - Tampa return) but the planes were in fact Aer Lingus and Delta. So I have no idea what KLM is like. When I checked in at Cork the ground staff could only give me a boarding card for the first flight. For the second one she said I would have to go to the Delta counter in Amsterdam. It was difficult to find a counter there or staff as check-in was all by computer. The computer kept saying 'error' when I put in my code. I eventually was directed to a KLM desk (nicely hidden). I was told that my seat no longer existed. At this point the flight was ready to board. Thankfully the KLM ground staff were extremely helpful and reassuring and upgraded my ticket to economy comfort. On the way back, I could only get a boarding card for my first flight. The second two I had to collect at the boarding gate of the second flight."

Cons: "We lost our whole vacation and had to pay for the plans fare twice because My last name was spelled wrong on our tickets and we were unable to use them because my passport didn’t match the name on the ticket. We had to rebook everything pay almost twice as much for the plane fare, our Lodi g cost more and our trip was delayed for two weeks. Vyama is blaming us for spelling our name wrong and claimes that it’s our fault this happened because everything is automated. There saying they don’t touch anything that we enter into the booking but somehow everything they claim we entered is now in all capital letters and the space between our first name and middle name is now gone and all run together. The coustomer service number gets you to someone in India. I have tried to get this addressed four times now at first they tried to place the responsibility on the airlines now us and they have hung up on me twice. Kayak has been worthless, they also just pass the responsibility on to someone else. We will never use them again ant I intend to make sure that this mess is put out in social media to hopefully keep others from having their travel plans ruined by their flawed system."

She seemed very laissez faire and there was no information about the connections gate overhead or when I got off the plane. I think that if the flight is delayed, the airline should let passengers know where the close connection gate assignments are to save them time (my flight landed ten minutes after my connection was boarding). 2. The carry on luggage section was impossibly small so I had to gatecheck my bag and it took five minutes to get my bag back. Given the tight connection, this created additional anxiety."

Cons: "I had a family emergency and because I had used a mileage ticket (as opposed to a paid ticket) I was told that I needed to give them 72 hours notice. I tried to explain that I had no control over the situation. It fell on deaf ears. I was so upset and frustrated that I could barely speak. My miles are now lost as the entire round trip ticket was cancelled and I have no way to regain all those miles that I wasted. It was the first time Delta did not come through for me and I must say, it's left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I couldn't believe that there isn't some provision (there is if I had paid for my ticket) and have lost all those miles that I use to fly Delta. So much for customer service."

Pros: "I paid only $100 more round trip to DTW from SLC then I would have with other carriers, minus the hassle of connecting flights and paying fees that they don't tell you about up front (like $25 for a carry-on bag, oh and a another $12 per leg for a window seat). My experience, like my previous Delta experiences was absolutely enjoyable. From the quick boarding, super friendly gate agents, and flight crew, to the free on board entertainment, Delta has won me over once again. Oh and did I mention how great it is to board a flight, relax and watch a good movie, take a small nap, and deplane at your destination! Awesome!!"

Boarding went well because we complained about how tired we, at 70+, were because the flight was late and we'd been standing up; this resulted in us being boarded with some of the latish priority passengers."

The meals were mediocre and the cabin staff were just barely the good side of unhelpful, officious and unfriendly The flight was inexplicably 2 hours or more late in excellent weather. No apologies given, the flight that was originally scheduled for 8 pm left close to 11 pm. While boarding the only light is a purplish ambient lighting that made it impossible to read anything, including the safety material, until the inflight entertainment was loaded up (the lights are only controlled through software-actuated virtual buttons on the screen). The inflight entertainment system is hard to use, too, designed by idiots for use by geniuses. But the very worst thing was the stress caused by Virgin Atlantic in just about guaranteeing that we would miss this flight. On our outbound voyage in January, VA, for reasons nobody knows, booked an ADDITIONAL leg from JHB to CPT on BA at 12:30 pm, even though we were already ON the earlier 9:30 BA flight we'd booked and paid for. Then, when we didn't show up for this spurious flight (because we were already in the air) we didn't book (BA swears they have evidence that VA made this booking), our return flight CPT to JBG three months later was cancelled WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. If I hadn't been interested in knowing, the day before the flight, if the return BA flight had a meal, I would have showed up at the CPT airport in April and discovered that I had no way to get to the VA flight in JHB! As it was I spent an entire day trying to get back on the flight I'd already paid for. I advise EVERYONE who uses VA to reconfirm flights over and over. There is still no explanation for this. I will never NEVER fly VA again. They are not to be trusted."

After the passengers got off the plane, the man at the counter came on the P.A and said it’ll be a few minutes, they’re catering the plane now from the back to the front. The flight crew still needed to get on a preform safety checks. He apologized again. Then it was 8:40, time to take off and we’re still waiting to even board. The man at the counter said again, thank you for your patience and relayed the same message, only this time the flight attendants were walking away from the gate. Around 9 some lady higher up told the man to announce that the flight crew had timed out and stand by crew was on the way to the gate, said sorry again. A little later the man says sorry, there’s a gate change. You’re going to K6 now. When we get to the new gate it’s almost 9:30pm and while we were all gathered at the gate, the flight crew that supposedly “timed out” showed up and proceeded to get on the plane. Passengers started getting mad and saying we were lied to and to just tell us the truth. Chicago PD started showing up. We finally got on the plane but it would be another 30 minutes before we moved because of issues getting our bags off the original plane. We ended up being almost 2 hours delayed."

This then apparently meant that I was to be flagged for all subsequent flights. This meant that in Chicago, after going through two other security checks that day (Zurich and London) and completing customs, I had to engage in a full Homeland security check. This involved removing protective covers from my laptop and phone that were hard to get off (not meant to be taken off regularly) and a full body search that I did not have to do in London. After many hours of traveling, this was very a frustrating experience."

Cons: "On my first flight from SLC to ORD I asked 3 different American Airlines employees if I needed to pay for my carryon before I got on the plane. They all said no. I got on the plane, put my carryon under the seat in front of me and everything was great. I landed in Chicago, got to my gate, went to board and this very rude employee stopped me after I scanned my ticket and told me I couldn’t board with my bag. The EXACT bag I had boarded with in SLC. After harshly grabbing my bag and putting it in the carryon basket to check for size, she wouldn’t let me pass by her into the boarding bridge and told me I was going to have to pay. I tried explaining that I had asked I’m SLC if I needed to check it and they had all said no and that it fit under my seat. She said, “I don’t care what they said in SL, this is what I’m saying here.” And directed me to the front desk where I had to pay $50!! $50 for a carryon backpack that fit under my seat comfortably 20 minutes before!! Without saying a word (cause I didn’t want to yell at the poor girl behind the desk) I paid the $50 and proceeded to enter the bridge but before I passed through, the rude woman said, “have a nice flight ma’am” and scoffed!! An audible scoff. So I’m short, I hate American Airlines and I will do my BEST to not have to fly with them in the future."

The staff members were not smart in appearance, some with long untidy hair, and did not interact with passengers except to hand out food. The food was reasonable. We disembarked feeling like wrecks. One of the flight attendants walked by and literally just grabbed my drink out of my hand and took it. There was only one flight attendant who was actually pleasant and polite to everyone and her name was Kate. The other flight attendants were just rude and abrasive to everyone and basically would mock people who did not speak English as their primary language. We were both treated okay but I was truly appalled with the way they spoke to some of the other passengers."

Cons: "The one carry-on policy was silly and included personal items. I was told to repack my purse into my backpack which was already full. The boarding staff stood over me and told me to throw stuff away in my backpack and asked why I had packed certain things. I am in the process of moving back to the US from Korea after two years so everything I had was everything I owned in the world - which included some sentimental things like a stuffed animal from my mother who passed away when I was three years old. The most infuriating part of this however was realizing that there was one other bag in my overhead bin. In fact most of the overhead bins had one to two bags and plenty of room. My repacking and humiliation was unnecessary and it was only for the morbid satisfaction of the lady at boarding demanding it. At one point I heard her talking with her coworkers about “why couldn’t they freaking listen. We announced it three times.” Well I had approached the counter prior to arrival and they told me to get back in line when I tried to ask about my purse and backpack. In additional to the frustration of all of that, I received my checked in luggage with a wheel missing. I had just bought it and now I have to ship a wheel from the vendor in South Korea or buy new luggage. Thank you guys so much for letting me know which airline to never fly with again."

When the gate agent arrived, we asked and were moved to seats next to each other right away. The ticket agent at initial check in was very abrasive and non-solution oriented. if what she was saying was true— that we only paid for tickets and had to pay extra for boarding passes together— that was never made clear during the booking process. It’s unlikely I’ll use kayak again unless I know for sure what I’m buying."

I was told that we could board another flight leaving in 30 minutes, so i went to that gate, crew was not there and we boarded the plane. We had to de- board and wait for the crew. Cons: "Mixed feelings about the entertainment app, I was pleased that something was available at all, however had the person sitting next to me not mentioned I needed an app to watch the in flight entertainment moments before it would have been too late to use the internet to download it, I would not have been able to use it, unless paying for a limited time package from AA to use the internet to download the app. A better job of advertising of the gogo app is needed more than the booklet in the seat pocket. Also I was only able to watch one movie, after that the system kicked me out saying high usage was making it not work for me. The gate changed a couple of times which had me trawling up and down the H and K concourses, could have done without that after the 9 hour journey I had already taken."

Cons: "The aircraft was downgraded, so there were 12 "overbooked" seats. The flight was delayed several times, with each new delay only being acknowledged after the previous departure time had already passed. Eventually, the flight was "delayed" to 3:15, but then it was bumped BACK to 2:45, so one woman ended up missing the flight because she had gone to the lounge based on the 3:15 departure. I accepted a voucher, but as the original flight kept getting delayed and I couldn't receive the voucher until the doors closed, I almost missed the flight I was rebooked on. If airlines would just communicate better (e.g., tell us there's a delay *before the departure time has passed*), people would be much more willing to deal with the hassle."

Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

I couldn't put both feet under the seat in front of me. The food was bad tasting and overly processed. We were fed a lean cuisine. The entertainment was from mounted tv's in the aisle. At this point, all planes crossing the ocean should have individual tvs for a customer to watch. They had this 15 years ago, how do they not have it now."

Cons: "I booked with British Airways and later noticed the plane was operated for American Airlines. The seats were cramped and the online entertainment was terrible. On an overseas flight, I expect in 2017 that there will be on-screen entertainment on the back of the seat in front of me. Instead, the movie was projected on a screen in the middle seats on an overhead that was about 10 rows away. Plus, you didn't get to pick your movie. You were stuck with the selections provided by the airline. I would have brought along my DVD player or laptop had I know this was going to happen. American flight crews are not as friendly and accommodating as European flight crews, which is why I try not to select an American carrier. Seats are less comfortable on American carriers also."

Albuquerque Airline staff were rude, dismissive, incompetent, and each individual I spoke with gave me wildly differing information. The two delays (leading to approximately 48 hours of travel) would have been stressful enough, but the callous, ignorant and unprofessional attitudes of American Airlines staff (and staff in general at Chicago O'Hare Airport) really disappointed me. This was even more striking compared with the professional service I received from British Airways (from whom I purchased the tickets). I was ashamed that my country could lag so far behind in terms of basic customer service and problem solving."

Cons: "No food! except pretzels and sandwiches for purchase. I didn't purchase a sandwich but on the outbound flight, the two guys next to me did and were both vocal about their disappointment with what they received for $9. And they were strangers who didn't talk to each other the rest of the time, so I think they meant it. Also, entertainment: they had a movie on the pop-down screens, and 4 free movies to stream to your device using on-board Wifi, as well as 2 TV shows. So maybe I'm being harsh. But it was a transcontinental flight and they didn't have headrest screens loaded with movies. Is this only for international flights? The movies were bad, or at least not appealing to me ('Keanu' and 'Zoolander 2'). It was possible to pay for additional movies, but who wants to do that? It was sort of the EasyJet model, where you get good basic service but pay for everything additional that one gets for free on Delta. Maybe that was reflected in the price I paid for the ticket, but I was expecting that AA would be in the same league as United and Delta. One nice perk: free wifi for T-Mobile customers, including me."

The plane was less than half full. It was nice to have my row and the row in front of me to myself. Glad I didn’t pay for a seat.

Pointing people to things instead of getting it for them or walking them to it) and at one point one stewardess was just rude to a passenger."

Also, the plane was half empty but they didn't want us moving seats--I suppose because a lot of people had already paid an additional fee to pick their seat."
