Cons: I arrived to my gate about a half hour before boarding was set to start. An employee greeting me recommended I use the restroom because the gate was down an elevator and in a portion of the airport that did not have accessible restrooms or food options. She cautioned against returning late later than ten minutes before boarding. I returned about ten minutes before the scheduled boarding, only to be told there would be a delay, which wouldn't be an issue except that it took over an hour and sounded like a standard, foreseeable safety process due to the plane being out of the country prior to our flight. Then we were shuttled to the plane on a frigid bus, which at one point stopped so suddenly several passengers and baggages were sent to the floor. And then, after finally taking off, the in flight wifi did not work. After landing in Portland, there was a 45 minute delay because "a vehicle is parked in our gate." Ultimately, we flew safe and sound, but the discomfort caused by the cold bus transports, poor bus driving, foreseeable delays, and a parked vehicle was really unacceptable. After this experience, it will be hard to choose Alaska Airlines in the future.

We all later got an email saying we'd receive a discount on future travel because the airline deemed the delay "preventable." We got a second plane quickly, on the second boarding process the gate agent failed to do preboarding. I'm on crutches at the moment, so this meant more time on my feet manoeuvring around "elite status members" than I would have liked.

Cons: where do I start....seats are incredibly close together and once the passenger reclines their seat, it is actually painful. I don't consider myself overly tall or large at 5'10" and 190 pounds, yet I did not have circulation in my legs for nearly the entire flight. The pilot indicated that flight would be only 9 1/2 hours and ended up being 14.5 hours due to a maintenance issue that required us to make a stop in Anchorage. Pilot said it would only take 30-40 minutes to repair (supplemental oxygen bottle was apparently empty) and after 3 1/2hrs I think we were finally airborne, only to be delayed an additional 45 minutes or so upon landing because our gate was occupied by another plane. So what, they can't find another gate to use? The whole flight there was also delayed for an unexpected stop in Anchorage to get more fuel for the flight. Did they not complete proper flight planning? I'm a pilot and I know you can check winds aloft and plan your route with ample fuel for emergencies. So did this pilot not properly plan for the flight? I can go on and on about why I won't be flying with Delta for a long long the 5,000 air miles they gave me as a courtesy for putting me through so much pain...well those extra miles are useless to me. How about refunding me the cost of my horrible flight?

Pros: The cabin crew serving the main cabin were exceptional. They were efficient, kind and FUN. We were an hour late leaving and 2/3 of the plane was worried about tight connections. They handled it with grace giving each person their departing gate and asking everyone to let a gentleman off with a 10 minute connection. They made the flight memorably enjoyable.
Cons: Being an hour late isn't ideal and I understand that it wasn't their fault (the plane was late arriving into Denver. Those things happen. They still goto people to Detroit in time to make connections--barely.

Furthermore I couldn’t use the check-in kiosks because my name was listed as Reidmr instead of Reid, which meant that my boarding pass did not match my passport. Overall this caused unnecessary delays that were compounded by the fact that I couldn’t use my TSA precheck. My main problem on the plane was that I had to struggle to get water served to me. It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?

Cons: Thanks for the cheap flight. Oh wait, still over $200 and they passed out iceless water. Why can't they give coffee as an option or heaven forbid, anything other than iceless water?

Cons: Airlines have an industry wide problem. They INTENTIONALLY make every part of flying miserable so that passengers will pay anything to make it less painful. For example... if you want to make boarding quicker, build the cost of checked luggage into ticket prices so that you don't have people carrying everything on and clogging up the process. Or use the existing and publicly available research to improve boarding mechanisms... but that would mean you lose an opportunity to squeeze extra cash out of people for 'priority boarding'. This phenomenon is real, and currently be investigated by congress. Call your senator.

Pros: the crew was pleasant and efficient The landing was really smooth compared to my trip in the opposite direction.

Cons: Originally, I was scheduled to take a JAL flight from NRT to DFW, but for some reason, American Airlines switched the service to their own aircraft and crew. If I would have known that beforehand, I would not have purchased my ticket through During my original online booking, the screen said JAL service from NRT to DFW. Just about everything was bad about my American Airlines flight. I travel to and from America several times a year from Asia. Each time I travel, I swear I will never fly an American based airline for the trans-Pacific portion of my flight. My latest experience with American Airlines only reinforces that resolution. The in-cabin crew is (and I'm being nice) pathetic! They are veteran flight attendants and they look and act like they could care less about the customers on the flight. Frankly, I'm just downright disgusted with the service and personalities of the American crew's attitude. They act like they are old and tired, uninterested in quality service, and that we (the passengers) are an imposition upon their life. For example, mid-flight, I walk to the back of the airplane for something to drink, instead of assisting me they point to a "station" at the Emergency Exit door stocked with random drinks and snacks. While they are chit-chatting, looking at their smartphones and reading newspapers, books, and Kindle-type devices. That has never happened on an Asian-based airline flight. Another example, in-flight food service, the cabin crew members are waking people up to serve food and, instead of being gentle and cordial, they are rude and impatient. My 2 row mates were both Asian, and because of being awakened and the ambient noise in the aircraft, they could not hear what the flight attendant was asking. So, with a tone of impatience and disrespect, the flight attendant virtually shouted at them their choices for the meal. Whatever happened to the "customer is always right" or the "customer is king"? My renewed resolution: I will no longer fly American-based (because Delta is even worse) airlines to and from Asia. If needed, I will pay the higher fees and fares to fly anyone of a number of Asian-based carriers. It is worth it for the 24 hours it takes me to cross the Pacific. I am sick and tired of the begrudged and entitled attitude of the archaic cabin crews of American-based airlines.

Pros: Pleasant flight for the hour ride. Not bumpy at all.

Cons: Seats tight and barely reclined, not clean, neighbor got sick no one attended to him.

Pros: The plane boarded quickly and on time, the flight went smoothly.
Cons: The plane seating layout was crammed. I had to sit uncomfortably the entire flight to avoid cuddling with the passenger next to me. Total sardine can.

Cons: Huge delay

Pros: The plane was new and relatively clean.
Cons: I fell asleep as soon as the cabin began to pressurize, which I often do. I subsequently missed the first meal, and was informed of light snacks in the galley bar - this meant mini pretzels. We experienced some light turbulence perhaps 2 hours to 1.5 hours before landing, after which we were informed that the turbulence had caused the food for the economy cabin to spill (first class was apparently fine). So that meant I had not eaten at all on a 13.5 hour flight, and all I consumed was water. To add insult to injury, I was caught in a 2 hour immigration line, despite the presence of one world employees in the hall responsible for ushering passengers with tight transfer times, but refused to give me assistance on 2 occasions. I later missed my connecting flight and was forced to pay for my own hotel, transfers and subsistence, with no apology from the airline. Outrageous flying experience.

Cons: Someone opened nail Polish on the plane and I wish the flight attendants would have addressed it because it was horrible.

Cons: It cost me $86 dollars to supposedly upgrade my seat to an exit row with tons of leg room. Granted there was plenty of leg room but the seat was extra narrow to give room for an emergency exit if necessary. I'm not huge but I barely fit in the seat. It was an uncomfortable squeeze which of course got worse as the flight continued. I complained to an attendant that the seat was too small and he had no remedy. If I was a few pounds heavier it would have been impossible. You'd think they would warn a customer of the narrower seat. It's so obvious that it's all about profit for the airlines which sickens me.

Cons: Flight was changed without notice did NOT go to Charlotte instead flew Detroit to Dallas! To Tampa- a little out of the way. After we were checked in and ready to board I then got a call to notify me the flight was changed. Boarding was awful made me check small carry on when there was several open over-head compartments and several others were walking in with two + carry ons. How do you explain that? I will NEVER fly American Airlines again. The airplane from Dallas to Tampa was ancient, a little scary to even think it was still in the air. The air conditioning was minimal I could hear other passengers complaining it was extremely uncomfortable.
