Cons: "I was given an option to change my seat at the check in kiosk, after selecting a different seat it told me they could not change my seat at that time. As soon as I boarded I asked one of the flight crew in the back if it was possible to purchase a cheese platter as I was really looking forward to it and was already hungry since I was trying to save room for it. She explained it was a first come first serve... By the time the lady got to the back she stood there for a while gossiping with another traveler without even glancing over at us and was holding our commentary cookies in her hand. She finally acknowledged us and when I asked for the cheese platter I was informed they had sold out... At that point I was HUNGRY and tired and honestly irritated that we had to sit there for several minutes without being acknowledged so she could gossip with a passenger. I ended up having to buy a box that I really didn't like but I didn't want to be cranky cuz I was hungry and I needed to eat something. Also, I had a middle seat ALL the way in the back of the plane next to a crying baby, which I couldn't change even though I was "given the option to." I have a difficult time flying if I can't see out the window. That just added to the irritation of the situation :/ I fly Alaska a lot and I was surprised at how bad this flight experience was..."

Cons: "One of my flight attendants seemed grumpier than I would expect. Not rude, but not at all pleasant either. This was uncharacteristic from an Alaskan Airlines flight attendant in my experience."

Cons: "I wasn't allowed to check in at the kiosk because it was approximately 40 minutes prior to departure, and there were no ticketing agents operating the counter. When I asked the supervising TSA agent at Kalispell airport for help, he took my ID to the ticketing agent at the gate past security and asked her if she could check me in and print a boarding pass for me from there and she did not. I was traveling with two other people in my party, one of which checked in approximately 10 seconds before I did on one of the kiosks and the other checked in approximately 5 minutes before me. I had my flight booking confirmation email on my phone, my receipt for the $497 ticket, and I was very polite in asking for help and very polite in receiving the bad news. The Kalispell airport is very small (there are just 3 gates), so I understand that the ticketing agent in the gate may have been so busy that she couldn't use the computer and printer at the gate to check me in and print my pass, but as someone who works in customer service I must say I was extremely disappointed in the verdict of my dilemma. I maintain full responsibility that our group had made it to the airport with little time to spare, and could have prepared differently, but from what I witnessed between my group's experience and my own, there could've been a touch of customer service added to our experiences. When I called Alaska Airlines customer service to rework my flight, I was charged a $211 change fee. I called customer service 10 minutes before my flight's departure time, so I was very clearly not late, there was no line at the security checkpoint, and I could see that the other two people in my group made it through security and to the gate in no more than one minute. I explained that there was no ticketing agent at the main counter outside of security and that the agent at the gate did not see any possible solutions for me. To say the very least, I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Alaska Airlines and the Kalispell airport and am truly discouraged by the sense of entitlement that I felt from the airline employees, the TSA employees, and air transportation as a whole. Again, I maintain responsibility for my dilemma, but would expect actual customer service for someone who very clearly made a mistake but is being extremely polite and calm in asking for help in a situation where there was ample time to correct the mistake, especially since there were others in the party that had successfully checked in merely seconds before myself. I know that sadly, my shared experience won't make much of a difference in anything, but I can't stress the importance of customer service in this world where it's a dying practice. I'm certain there are employees with Alaska Airlines that would have handled the situation differently, but for this particular experience I will not be flying with them again."

Pros: "My husband paid extra for an elite seat. It was very roomy and comfortable. I got a nice snack but didn't get a complimentary drink. We got to San Jose 15 mins. earlier, that's why. The return flight from San Jose was wonderful. I got upgraded to an elite seat, better than the one I paid for, had a very nice seat companion and got my snack and a complimentary drink. I wish the trip had been longer. I have only had good experiences on my Alaska Air flights. About 5 now. Staff also very nice."

Cons: "Check in staff at Assistance counters either had problems with their computers or couldn't understand reservations. We had a pet for which we had paid for round trip reservation months ago, yet agent took quite awhile to reconcile our reservations. We stood in line for nearly a half hour during which their were very long lines at each check in point and at least one or two agents left on breaks while the lines were still very long. At Burbank the agents were fast, accurate and there were almost no waiting. The flight itself was great and the flight attendants were excellent; but not impressed at all with check in at Seattle."

The only flight to Manchester was the next night and would have gotten us to Manchester by 6pm. I had to rent a car at midnight and drive the four hours to be able to attend the reunion I was flying up for."

Meanwhile another flight to Boston from ATL left and I was not notified or selected for this change."

Cons: "Connecting to LAX through Toronto was frustrating. We were told in Dublin that our bags were checked all the way through to LA and they weren't. (Been through Toronto before and thought maybe they had changed the procedure) Airport signage could be improved to accurately inform of baggage pickup and drop off with your connecting air carrier. (Our traveling companions ended up missing the flight home in the confusion.) The airport is going through renovations, maybe it will improve. The flight to LA wasn't stocked properly with food. They ran out of sandwiches/fruit and cheese plates by the first few rows in the main cabin. No earbuds available for those who needed them. Cramped seating. This flight was with BA partner American Airlines"

Cons: "Stood on the jetway for 30 minutes due to some issue with boarding. Aircraft was tiny, not enough bathrooms for such a long flight. Dirty bathrooms and long lines."

Cons: "The crew was rude and completely unhelpful. They wouldn't honor my upgrade and than when I wanted a Mimosa they said it was only for first class even though they could have clearly got it and charged me. This was a rare occurrence but a terrible one nonetheless."

Pros: "The crew was very efficient and friendly while handling everyone. Flight was smooth, food was good. I went to the wrong terminal and did not know that the advertised finair flight was actually American Airlines, the AA ticket counter attendant went all out to make sure I made it to the gate. All this with less than an hour before departure."
Cons: "I went to the wrong terminal, the email ticket had finair in large print and in smaller print indicated American. Luckily I was able to literally run and make my flight. Would be better to more clearly indicate actual airline."

Pros: "The crew was friendly and helpful. The flight itself was uneventful and arrived 19 minutes early. The follow flight to Toronto was about equally late, but construction and heavy traffic made it unavoidable. I saved a lot of money with the Hopper app. Flying used to be nicer, but this is what cost cutting (anywhere) results in - less service and less comfort. We get what we demand - whether we really want it or not."
Cons: "I miss the 'free' services such as food, but we all know it wasn't that great anyway."

Pros: "Quick and fast. Slept through the landing and woke up to everyone gone and was in a rush to get out, but forgot my phone and passport, and I asked about it they went back there and looked for it for me and got it back. Over all good experience."

I didn't like the accebility to buying snacks, drinks and other food throughout the flight. Flying for 10 hour is draining and the only entertainment be controlled by what the captain provides on the screen isn't comfortable. I may fly American Airlines for domestic flights but I'll surely use another company or longer flights to Europe."

Pros: "The entertainment selection was prolific, with many many movies to choose from including recent releases. The staff provided plenty of beverages to help the time slide by nicely. The seats had both USB and 110V power outlets which was awesome. The entertainment systems work with regular iPhone headsets which was good."
Cons: "Couldn't get our meal preference selected, Iberia page for the flight check-in didn't work at all, getting a page not found error. Then after calling Iberia, and getting the AA confirmation managed to at least get into AAs web site for the flight, but now it was apparently too late to change our food option, and AA wouldn't work with us at all, the phone agent event LIED on the phone suggesting we could talk to customer service at the airport to have them provide an appropriate meal option. The customer service line was CORDONED OFF at LAX, and getting help out of their agents was like trying to get blood from a stone. The worst customer service experience I've ever had, even than Comcast. Then, I guess this ticket is economy minus, you have to pay more for seats that aren't at the total arse end of the plane. WTF. Economy means economy, not the back end of economy, but now you gotta pay to "upgrade" to regular economy. I can't imagine what that must have been like for families of four with children who are being extorted just so they can sit together. Then at the airport, despite having been assigned a gate, the plane came into a different gate, and we're just sitting there slowly wondering more and more why there aren't many people around. Finally we have to go ask another airlines' desk where our plane is at (it never had a correct gate assignment on the monitors) to figure out where we had to board. No announcement, no agent at the old gate to direct passengers to the correct place. Upon traveling to London on the red-eye, they proceeded to keep the plane completely dark the entire trip. No attempt to help passengers adjust to the destination time zone at all. Trying to open a window resulting in being curtly asked to close it. Jet lag on eastbound transatlantic is bad enough without the airline making it worse. On the return journey the line for the gate was around the corner AFTER boarding had started, and people couldn't board in any sort of order. My entertainment system crashed, when they finally came round with food, I could ask them to reset it. Having paid for the Wifi, which is fine, it's an add-on service, it was difficult to connect to, my phone really struggled to bring up the sign-in page, and I had to reboot my laptop three times, clearing my browser cache to get it to connect. The connection and payment screens were very slow, which was because the wifi overall was very slow. I am sitting on the plane waiting to hear from my father about his critical surgery with my phone dropping on and off the wifi due to slowness and extreme packet loss (>50%). I had been hoping to get some work done on the flight, so much for that idea, I couldn't maintain a solid VPN connection for more than 5 minutes at a time. I will never fly AA again unless they are the last option at a non-horrible price. This was an emergency trip as it was, and booked through Iberia; thanks for nothing Iberia."

Pros: "Great round trip flight! I was traveling on vacation with a group of 6. We all had no issues. I pray all my flights from this pint forward will be this effortless."

Pros: "Friendly, helpful flight attendants. Flight left and arrived on time, despite being completely full (asking for volunteers to bump). Offered to gate-check our carry-on bags for free to alleviate crowding of overhead bins was fine for us since we already had checked baggage."
Cons: "If you don't pay for the premium seats, the legroom is pretty tight. I'm only 5'8" and I felt it -- if you're 6'+ you better pay for it. This aircraft had screens, but not individual ones so you're stuck watching whatever sitcom replay they pick, although there is a moderate selection of other music. I've been on a newer aircraft with the in-seat power and interactive screens so I know how good it can be, so this was a little disappointing."

Pros: "AA flights now have individual screens with free movies/videos/music/games. Power outlet and USB port included. Staff was polite, helpful"

Cons: "We were delayed initially because our jet was given to a different flight which had been delayed due to mechanical problems. Then our incoming flight was first from San Diego, then Los Angeles. The arrival was delayed several times. Then our boarding was delayed several times. By the time we we in the air, we were even later. The flight was so turbulent, there was no food or beverage service, which isn't important anyway since that has become a token gesture by airlines anyway. . If this was an isolated incident, I could ignore it but it seems that this almost always happens when I fly United."
