The service was horrible from top to bottom and cost people their entire day. Cons: "Our original flight was cancelled with no explanation. My girlfriend was notified of this and I was not. When I called to get my flight details I was informed that I was to fly out on a completely different day instead. After explaining that there was no chance of that happening, the call center rep was happy to help. The flight was now an American Airlines flight booked through Alaska. About 3 days before our flight we both received calls from American saying that they did not have our passenger information. Apparently Alaska just didn't transfer that over. We also now had two confirmation codes as the returning and connecting flights were still with Alaska. Once we got to the airport on the day of I was able to print my American Airlines boarding pass, however I could not print my Alaska boarding pass on neither American nor Alaska's kiosks. It was a redeye flight as well so there was no staff at the check in counters yet. We ultimately did get to our destination, but it was such a completely unnecessary headache to get there."

By the time he is ready to throw his cell phone out the window, he will fire ten programmers. Guys! It shouldn't be this damn much work. I asked other flyers, they said, "not using it, couldn't figure it out." Here's a blast, - quit charging, have it show up as a wifi hotspot on a cell phone, you push a button for connect, and voila- THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD WORK."

Cons: "-At HNL there was poor signage to get from the rental car return to the airline. Once we got into the terminal it really wasn't clear if we should go left or right, We wound up asking an American employee where Alaska was. -After the checked bag agriculture inspection it was not clear that you go to the kiosks there right after the inspection. I think it partially wasn't clear because there were multiple large groups traveling with tons of luggage and you go straight to the kiosks and then back track to hand over your checked bag. The line for checking the bag vs needing help wasn't clear either. Luckily there were Alaska employee's there helping at the kiosks and with the bag checking so it did go smooth but could definitely be better."

So on top of a plane ticket that was no where close on being on time going or coming back, there was a 25 dollar baggage handling each way, a $40 upgrade (So I can try an get some sleep as we were 2 hours behind coming home, I understand this was optional) and then 22.50 parking fee. So, a $350 dollar ticket turned into a $350+25+25+40+22 = $460 dollar plane ticket. Alaskan airline is not as good of deal as you might think."

KC to SEA nearly 4 hours late, SEA to KC an hour and a half late. Cheaper, but less reliable. and on top of it all I had to pay 6 dollars for the movie. A movie that was skipping and jumping around"

I had never flown Alaska Airlines before, so I was a bit nervous before I took the flight because I had no sense of what it was like. I was very pleasantly surprised. The crew was extremely friendly and great at customer service. The seats were comfortable and the plane was very clean and spacious. I would absolutely fly Alaska again."
Cons: "The usual - I hate when airlines charge for food and checked bags. I didn't try the food because of this. Most of the stuff I was annoyed with didn't really have anything to do with anything Alaska could have controlled. For example, I was seated next to a very fussy and whiny baby during my red eye from LAX to BWI. Airlines in general should have some sort of warning for customers who are sitting unwittingly next to children. Overall, I had minimal complaints."

I was carrying with me my service dog and a bag containing an expensive medication (it couldn’t go on the top bin). Despite being in the comfort class and having the seat next to me empty, we were tight for space. The flight attendants were unreasonable and forced me to put my medication on the top bin despite the fact I had told them it was extremely delicate, that it that to go upright, and that I needed to keep it with me. They did not listen and pressured me into giving them the medication. The medication could have easily gotten broken. Thankfully it didn’t but this is no way to treat a human being."

The gate agent told us we were too late to board. FAA records indicate the flight did not actually depart O'Hare until two hours after our arrival. The BA gate agent send us back to American Airlines Service deik which was swapped with people; we waited in line for 2 hours and had moved less than half way to the Service Desk. We gave up and went home. Considering the long delay in departure, why were we not allowed to board? Very unhappy with the outcome of this experience."

Cons: "My 11am flight had engine problems, so at 1pm they asked if anyone wanted to leave and take the 2pm flight to Charlotte. About 30 people said yes, as I did too. After running across Heathrow to make flight, we got on plane and Waited....seems after running a Mile across the airport, they Decided to HOLD the Flight and have everyone from 11am flight take the 2pm flight to Charlotte. All the baggage had to be taken from 11am flight and brought to 2pm flight. Delay for take off was almost 2 HOURS!!! Instead of arriving in Charlotte at 3pm, we were Leaving at that time!!! Didn't get to Charlotte until almost 9pm. NO ONE on Flight from 11am was Happy about this."

I liked the fact that we got ice cream halfway through the flight also, that's not a very common thing! Entertainment system was very good -- lots of choices of things to watch/listen to! Cons: "Comfort was okay, my seat was on the end of a row with three seats (aisle side) and immediately behind me was a row with only two seats. Without fail, the flight attendants bumped their carts into my chair EVERY time they passed. If I had been trying to sleep, this would be much more of a disturbance to me. Seeing as I was just watching movies and enjoying the food, it wasn't that much of an issue. However, I think it would be easy for the flight attendants to just take a second longer to try to navigate around the chair and not bump it every time. Little things like that go a long way, especially on a long flight."

Cons: "This was a horrible travel experience, the worst I have ever known. My uncle had died, so I had to search for the soonest and most economical flight in order to attend the funeral. Traveling with me was my aunt (his ex wife) and my cousin (his only daughter). Our initial flight was delayed 'due to mechanical issues' and they said we weren't going to make our connection in Phoenix. So they had to reroute the whole trip, which took about half an hour because all of the flights were full. So instead of flying from LGB - PHX - CLT - CAE and arriving Saturday night, we ended up departing from LAX (which we specifically were trying to avoid) almost 9 hours later. From there to DEN - CLT - GSP arriving Sunday morning. Because of this I had to contact the hotel and let them know that we weren't going to check-in until the next day, but I still ended up having to pay for Saturday night. Then, I had to cancel the rental car and make a new reservation to pick it up at GSP and return at CAE since the hotel was close to CAE, plus the return flight was through CAE. Also, wifi was an additional cost (which we didn't use because of this), the snacks were pitiful, and the seats were very narrow and uncomfortable. I have flown with JetBlue in the past, but on this occasion, last minute flights to South Carolina were prohibitively expensive. That being said, if I had known how bad the experience with American was going to be, I would have gladly paid literally double the price for the JetBlue tickets. And in the future, I will be flying exclusively with JetBlue no matter what the cost."

Cons: "flight has been cancelled, airline staff gave me hotel vouchers which the hotel would NOT honor, I went back and forth twice because those two hotels would not accomodate american airline passenger vouchers, I end up calling a friend to pick up at the airport she has to drive for an hour just to pick me up, I regret buying a ticket in american airline"
