Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The plane flew me safely to my destination. Nothing unpleasant happened. Those are the best things I could say about it."
Cons: "Overhead bin space was full when I boarded (I was in row 9!), so I had to check my roll aboard and hold my backpack at my feet the whole flight. The bin space above my row was being used to store trays of snacks for the food service. Don't they have somewhere else to store service items so bin space is available for passengers? In explicably we left sunny and calm Burbank 45 minutes late. No water was offered until we'd been on the plane for 2 hours."
Pros: "The crew was amazing and I couldn't believe the pilot came out to help clean the cabin. The friendliest team ever!!"

Pros: "the seat didn't move which made it upright throughout but ok good decaf coffee though not speedy to arrive"

Pros: "Crew was very fun, onboard amenities were great , overall a great flight"
Pros: "Nice planes, better treatment than other airlines."
Cons: "Fly at Mach 2!"
Pros: "Flight on time, smooth birding/disembarkment"
Cons: "I boarded the flight with a carry-on and one personal item. As usual I personally place the carry-on in an overhead bin. After the flight landed and I went to retrieve my carry-on, it was gone! The flight was full, so I checked with the flight attendants if my bag somehow got gate-checked or it was moved. They didn't know and they said maybe it went into the checked bags. So I wait at the baggage claim and out comes my carry on bag without any tags. Strange! My carry on didn't have anything valuable, but a bit of communication or some form of record would have made this odd incident a little less nerve-wracking. 1. Please communicate with the passenger if their bags get transferred to the checked bags 2. Please communicate with the crew which bags get moved from the cabin to the checked luggage 3. Please label the bags if they get moved around--there was no gate-checked tags or any stickers to communicate with the checked luggage folks."
Pros: "Everything was good, no problems at all"
Pros: "How calm the staff remained in the face of many very tired and disappointed people"
Cons: "The flight had a mechanical issue but no mechanic was duty. the flight was supposed to leave at 5, we left at midnight on a plane flown up from Boston. We arrived at 3 in the morning which left me at 61 driving an hour home at a terrible time of night. I was afraid for my safety driving at that hour but they strung us along for so long there were no real opportunities to choose another option. Besides which my bag was stuck in the broken compartment and could not be retrieved. The flight, when it finally left was so cold that everyone was huddled down in their seats, the very senior lade next to me was pitiful. All in all a horrible experience."
Cons: "I paid for extra space and there was none available on my flight."
Pros: "Nice ground personnel in San Juan as well as flight attendants."
Pros: "Smooth flight"

Cons: "No comments."
Pros: "Excellent healthy snack options and variety. Friendly crew. They recycle. Arrived on time"
Cons: "Landed 10 minutes early only for them to announce we had 10min delay at the gate. then we sit on runway for 40 minutes with no explanation. That is unacceptable.. context for anxious passengers is a must. Customer sat plummets from this. A little communication goes a long way."
Pros: "Lots of space, kept us up to date about the delay."
Pros: "Seats were spacious."
Cons: "Looked like plane had not been cleaned for a while. TV screens were filthy. Stewardesses were not the friendliest. Seemed annoyed to be attending to the passengers."
Pros: "I liked everything. Check in no trouble. The gate agents were pleasant, didn’t have an assigned seat, no problem, gave me an aisle just as I asked. Take off, landing on time & drama free. Way to go blue."

Cons: "No free disposable headphones"
Cons: "For 6 hour flight.... no drink, no snack , no food plus had to spend 25$ for check bag on an international flight."

Cons: "- Seat did not go back - Flight attended lied about why it would not go back (stated that it was because the passenger behind me had his tray table out) instead of just acknowledging that it was broken - No outlets"
Pros: "Loved the size of the plane, the ease of the flight, the convenience of Nantucket airport."
Cons: "I didn’t like the fact I had to check my tiny bag, which means I have to retrieve it for the carousel. Aircraft needs better overhead storage. My bag weighed only 25 pounds."
Pros: "Made up time"
Cons: "I think they should give the headphones and not charge."
Pros: "Love the ample legroom in coach seating, and that I don’t feel like one of gazillion sardines in a can. Snack selection is awesome and free: ) Flight attendants were courteous Check-in staff at the departure gate was friendly and even shared a quip of humor!"
Pros: "The crew was professional and did a good job."
Cons: "The plane arrived late from another location. I understand this was probably out of JetBlue’s hands. The plane seemed really dirty. I’m used to flying Delta out of Atlanta so this was my first JB experience. I was really disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of the inside of the plane."
Pros: "Everyone was awesome. The pilot was humorous. Very relaxing."
Cons: "There wasn't anything I didn't like about the flight."
Pros: "Crew was great. Very helpful and informative."
Cons: "My seat did not recline no matter how hard I pressed the recline button or tried to lean back and it felt like the bottom cushion was nonexistent. Might need to bring my own cushion for future flights. I drive for a living and comfortable seats can make or break travel"

Cons: "3 hour delay"
Cons: "Sitting on the plane waiting for someone to come fix something with a tree year old and 10 month old'"
Pros: "Jet blue seat and leg room and entertainment options made the flight a good experience."
Pros: "Direct TV...during the entire flight!! I usually fly SW because of the no baggage fee. On this particular trip, I was able to send my bags w/ my sister b/c she drove to Orlando and back to VA."
Cons: "It would be nice if JB included 1 checked bag w/o a fee. However, I did enjoy the fact that I had DirectTV to watch and it wasn't a really big plane. I liked the aisle and window seat options."
Cons: "Avion pequeño"
"On time, cordial service,"
Pros: "Friendly crew Flight left on time Refreshments were alright Thankful for the free WiFi"
Cons: "Seats were small Hardly any space below seat to store hand luggage Aisle was tight"
Cons: "Internet and plane was small and old"
Cons: "Extremely frustrated. Upon booking my ticket, I was told it wouldn’t be a full flight. At no point did u receive any information alerting me that it was going to be a full flight. I was extremely uncomfortable due to COVID."
Pros: "Crew was amazing before and after the flight! Delta really showed if the world isn’t doing well, that their staff will keep those problems outside the plane and keep everyone calm and safe. Thank you Delta!"
Cons: "Absolutely nothing. I’m going to join the miles points with Delta."
Cons: "Seats are tiny"
Pros: "Almost as soon as we finished taking off, we were landing. A one-hour trip doesn't let you really love or hate anything."
Pros: "I felt really comfortable safe and more than happy to fly with Delta. Thank you."
Cons: "More vegan options."
Cons: "Worst airplane i have been on since 2007"
Pros: "Crew was great, seats were comfy and the entertainment options were good."
Cons: "Flight was delayed but it happens."
Pros: "I love all the complementary stuff on flight"
Cons: "Better ear buds"
Pros: "Crew was very friendly and efficient. Flight was pretty smooth."
Cons: "On time departure would have been nice. 2.5 hours late."
Cons: "Crew was not very friendly or helpful. Not even a drink service on this flight. Atlanta is over crowded and always a problem. Couldn’t avoid it this time."
Pros: "Flight was short"
Cons: "My seat didn’t have a window. The woman who booked it told me there was limited recline, THERE WAS NO RECLINE, and she left out there is no window even though she asked me if I wanted window or isle and I chose window. I felt like I was in a closet. Landing was incredibly harsh."
Pros: "The flight crew was great. Very friendly and efficient and there were free snacks with the comfort + seating with Delta. It’s airplane seating so it is what it is but I was not uncomfortable."
Cons: "I’m not sure everything was really great."
Pros: "Ryan was great! Very nice and professional, would love to see him on a future flight."
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "An hour and a half late, terrible communication about scheduling"
Cons: "Terrible landing"
Pros: "Wonderful service. Staff was attentive and helpful. Flight was great. I got to watch a couple movies and was able to retrieve my oversized luggage easily and even quickly. Thank you, Delta!"
Cons: "I’m not a seasoned traveler and packed some needed items for our home out-of-state in an oversized bag. That bag ended up costing me $200 extra at check-in. I could’ve Fed-ex’d for cheaper or put into two separate bags for cheaper. Then, my flight was delayed an hour."
Pros: "Boarding from back to front. Making early boarders wait to the side when they tried to embark too soon."
Cons: "All the people standing in line prior to boarding."
Pros: "Nice updates"
Cons: "There was a LOT of turbulence and the landing was a rough one too. Plane was cramped with very little leg room and my seat back was broken."
Cons: "This is the second flight in a row in which Delta has either cancelled or rescheduled my flight at the last minute. Last time I was stranded in the Atlanta airport overnight waiting literally all night for them to return my luggage (which never came, and then was late even to my final destination). I will not be using Delta in the future."
Pros: "The entertainment was really good and the service was excellent. Flight attendants were great. Enjoyed my complimentary beverage and on time departure and arrival."
Cons: "It was hard to understand what zone was boarding. Hard to hear and understand made It impossible. And the plane seemed smaller, seats were very close to one another, and it was difficult to get comfortable. I'm not big either."
Cons: "Delta allowed flights with empty seats going to the same destination to take off without trying to fill them w passengers who were delayed on other flights. Our flight was delayed more than three hours, and it’s a shame that some folks could have been accommodated on that flight but were not."
Pros: "flight attendants"
Cons: "As soon as we all were boarded we where told there was a mechanical issue. Sat on the boarded cramped flight for 2 hours until issue was fixed. If there was a mechanical issue then the plane should’ve not been boarded until it was fixed. Much rather have waited in lobby for 2 hours than on a plane with no food and water. Or at least alllowed us to deboard while issues where resolved."
Cons: "The boarding process is quite confusing with all the different categories of people prior to the actual listed "zone" boarding. As an example, if you have a "Zone 2" boarding pass, you think you will be second to board when in reality that means you are second to last to board. After those who need extra time, those with small children, active military, premier, whatever.... all that covers about 2/3 of the passengers. Then of course there's all the stepping over those who already boarded which seems to slow the process overall. It would be better to ask these questions when making your reservation. Then, the zones would be appropriate based on how you made your reservation to begin with."
Pros: "Service vey Good. Nice choices. Comfort seating very nice"
Cons: "WiFi awful. Useless."
Pros: "The LGA team did great in difficult situation"
Cons: "Flight was cancelled"
Cons: "Sat on the plane on the tarmac for over an hour in the cold..."
Cons: "They lost my bag."
Pros: "Very efficient boarding; crew had the foresight to ask for travelers to gate-check their bags due to a full flight and that saved a lot of boarding time and hassle."
Cons: "The seats on this aircraft looked like that had a 2-2 configuration; it's now 3-2 making it pretty cramped in Coach."
Pros: "The gentleman at the gate was super helpful and helped us check our bags at the gate."
Cons: "Zero leg room. Zero arm room. The entertainment system did not function. No food for such a long flight unless you pay more then the food is actually worth."
Pros: "Compared to previous flight - this was so much better with upgrade to first class and extra space."
Pros: "very short flight, flight was comfortable"
Cons: "Plane was small so carry on space was at a premium, but everything fit"
Pros: "quick trip, no problems"
Pros: "Everything about it was excellent, which is saying a lot for a guy who travels a lot."
Cons: "I realize that a flight attendant is there ultimately for safety reasons, but one of the three was particularly brusque in her interaction."
Cons: "sitting on the runway for over 3 hours without any water, snacks, or even video entertainment screens or outlets to charge phones"
Pros: "Comfy seats"
Cons: "No earphones available. I had forgotten mine but crew stated that none had been put on the flight. Lunch was served but no snacks later as is usual on an almost 4 hr flight. I always fly First Class for the extra room and perks of crew service. Crew spent most time in galley chatting. Not a bad flight by any means but I guess I have been spoiled by superior service on all of my other weekly Delta flights."
Cons: "Delta doesn't manage their flight schedules and personnel with backup or standby crew in order to assist whenever there are delays across domestic flights. The plane was late to arrive at the gate and we were also told that while the pilot was ready to take off, we couldn't leave because we were waiting for a flight attendant to land from Pittsburgh (we were in La Guardia airport in NYC). delta would rather I convenience the flyer instead of hiring more personnel or figuring out standby or backup plans for delayed flights."
Pros: "Service, seats, food and pilot were all good."
Cons: "There ought to be a better way to go from an international flight to a connecting domestic flight. Security and Customs should be combined to expedite the process for passengers and crew members. I'm not suggesting not going through security, buy why couldn't we do it at the same place as customs? Too often Delta flights are delayed and I don't understand why Delta wouldn't do everything it could to expedite every part of the process for its crew and passengers. I went through TSA pre-check with Delta crew members. My connecting flight was delayed. We were waiting on the pilot..."
Pros: "The only positive of this leg is that it was less infuriating than the flight from RDU to Boston"
Cons: "Delta's partnership with Go Jet seriously compromises the legacy carrier's reputation. I am a Delta fan - although flexible enough to use other choices when necessary. I will no longer fly a Go Jet operated leg when other choices are available. For my trips to Boston, that means Jet Blue. Sorry Delta. I'll see you back on a true Delta route."
Pros: "Reachung my destination"
Cons: "I can appreciate the stress on everybody's mind but this was the worst time i had flying. Short story, 10am thursday-7pm friday. Less short story, 4 airlines, 3 security screenings and 2 customs stop points.7 delays, 2 cancels and 1 miss. It was a ping pong nightmare and 2 times it was suggested i take a bus...after i spent the money on a plane ticket with no offer of compensation, food vouchers or hotel accommodation. Delta has to convince me to come back to them."
Pros: "Sitting in the exit row (52H) gave me lots of space and the temperature was great."
Cons: "My original flt KE018 on 03Apr17 was a different story; had adequate space, but the temperature was warm making it uncomfortable to sleep during the 13 hour flight. Unfortunately, the A-380 does not have manual overhead air vents."
Pros: "Delta always has a nice professional crew. We were served within a reasonable time and I felt comfortable the whole flight."
Cons: "The pressure is the cabin with really bothering me. I've flown several times and never had the pressure to bother me but it was really hurting my head."
Pros: "Good experience given that it was a long flight."
Cons: "How about meal service on the 5hr flight from Atlanta to Portland? The food for purchase options left much to be desired."
Pros: "Boarding was on time, free entertainment, choice of free snack with our drink, free extra serving of complementary coffee, and landed ahead of schedule"
Cons: "Nothing in this experience"
"Late to board late to depart captain gave inaccurate information"
Pros: "It was a small jet but the first class section was extremely nice."
Cons: "Small jets have limited overhead space and most roller bags have to be gate checked for pickup when you exit the plane. My roller bag is small to fit under a seat, and it fit in the overhead."
Cons: "The crew was so rude"
Cons: "In flight entertainment wouldn't work despite following the instructions, so I gave up after about 45 minutes."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable and crew was nice."
Cons: "Need something more substantial for food in first class on a cross-country flight."
Cons: "It’s perfect"
Pros: "Crew wuz gööd"
Pros: "Seat was comfortable"
Cons: "One attendant looked and acted, like she had just gotten up after a rough night. Never smiled, watched people put jackets and even a fast food bag in the overheads without ever saying a word."
Pros: "Quiet, evening flight."
Cons: "Departure was delayed 30 minutes due to customs inspection of the aircraft. Not American's fault."
Cons: "Staff at Pensacola airport not very helpful or friendly."
Pros: "The entertainment options"
Cons: "The flight was delayed because of another flight before ours and there was poor communication."
Cons: "No wifi, drinks came in the last 5 minutes flight was 1.5 hours late"
Pros: "Pleasant and attentive crew"
Pros: "Normal expectations were met"
Cons: "It was fine"
Cons: "The seats were SO uncomfortable and my legs were cramped up into one position because there wasn't enough room for legs and knees."
Pros: "Landed safely and on time. Crew was nice."
Cons: "Cramped. Older plane missing USB plugs. Entertainment requires an app. Should have been cheaper for what I got which was a regular ticket for a 5'8" 160lb person."
Pros: "Crew were ok Captain was informant"
Cons: "Delay Heat on plane at 98 degrees upon boarding"
Cons: "The flight and the entire process with American was just fine. What bothered me most was the rude treatment from security staff in Philadelphia. Compared to security staff overseas, the U.S. rates the lowest of the 55+ countries I've visited. It does not reflect badly on American Airlines, but it does give travelers a bad lasting impression. As an American, I'm embarrassed by their behavior."
Cons: "the usual garbage AA flights on CRJ's with poor on-time performance and frequent maintenance issues..."
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "One of my pieces of luggage was not on my flight. The gate agent was difficult to understand. It was her nasal accented English that was the problem."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "AA has nine boarding groups, which queue up in two lanes. Each of the two lanes hold about 5 people, at most. This is ridiculous. It creates enormous crowds of people jockeying to be near the tiny lanes for when their number is called 5 or 10 minutes down the line. AA needs to reduce the number of boarding groups, lengthen the lanes, and provide more of them. No other airline boards this way. That's because this boarding method is stupid. Unsurprisingly, our plane took off late because they couldn't get everyone boarded in time."
Pros: "Much more room in seats than expected"
Pros: "I got here."
Cons: "Everything else. American cancelled my first flight from MSP to ORD. And when I got to Chicago, it cancelled my next flight to Nashville. The flight I managed to get on departed two hours late. There was no explanation for each of these cancellations/delays. There was virtually zero inclement weather anywhere, save for most of the country’s temperature being nearly equivalent to the surface of Neptune. And, the surly, clueless Chicago-based gate agent was the coupe de grace in my search for a reasonable explanation after which I waited impatiently for this episode to conclude. American get your act together."
Cons: "I was forced to check my carry on and pay for it. I was not charged on my way to lax or my trip to Hawaii. Sad. And person was rude"
Pros: "The flight attendant was fantastic. Very friendly, very helpful, checking on all the passengers. He even loaned his phone charger to one passenger. It was a full flight and he was working hard, but had a smile on his face the entire time. Give him a raise!"
Cons: "the airplane was absolutely freezing. It was so cold, you could actually see the air blowing (like in winter). There's no need for that. Somehow European airlines manage not to freeze out all their passengers. It was less than a two hour flight but felt like an eternity because it was so uncomfortable. Seat size - this is absolutely the smallest it can/should go. I am pretty skinny, but even I'm running out of room and the seat backs could be made a bit more comfortable. Not only is there almost no recline, but the way they are constructed - they actually push my head forward - not made for short people."
Pros: "It was on time. Nashville airport is sparkling clean with very happy and warm staff throughout the facility. As opposed to Philthydelphia the city of Unbrotherly Love."
Cons: "We boarded an hour late and then sat in the runway for ever. Flight was scheduled to arrive in Nashville at 1137p we arrived at 148a! Ridiculous"
Pros: "Extra room with empty seat"
Cons: "Seat didn't go back due to exit row"
Cons: "First hearing news of my flight being severely delayed I asked the ticket agent if I should just drive down to DFW from Lawton he reassured me that the plane would get there with time I had to make a split decision to drive down very rapidly"
Cons: "I didn't get home til 1am bc of this flight delay. A lot of the passengers were on the final leg of overseas travel, so we had a really hard time with the delays. Boarding was inefficient. Cree counted us like 6 times. Why is that necessary? Plane was old and uncomfortable."
Pros: "The plane had a wider aisle - much appreciatedz"
Pros: "I changed my reservation in Hartford. Crew were extremely helpful."
Cons: "I ended up getting to my destination 6 hours after what I had planned."
Pros: "All good"
Cons: "All good"
Pros: "The male server was great. The ice cream for dessert was magnificent."
Cons: "First class was awful- no drink service for far too long, didn't have my food order that I selected ahead of time, the female asian flight attendant was not friendly at all, the seat reclined at the back only there was nothing for your feet, the blankets were awful, and movie selection was mediocre at best."
Pros: "Never boarded plane cause dates were wrong"
Cons: "Now me owning up to mistake costing me $500+ extra"
Cons: "Plane size"
Cons: "The boarding was seemed unintelligent. Why would a passenger in a window seat have to wait until the other middle and aisle passengers board. I got on the plane and had to wait for the other two passengers get up and step into the aisle so I could take my window seat. I was in group 7 and apparently they were in a lower number group that was allowed to board before me."
Cons: "COULDN'T GET ON THE SECOND LEG BECAUSE DIDN'T MAKE THE FIRST LEG"
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "No entertainment. Learn from TAM in Brazil and offer entertainment via smartphone / tablet. No food service."
Pros: "Arrived on time, left on time."
Cons: "It was inconceivable to me that I could not get a seat assignment until I actually checked in at the gate. While AA offered the option of paying extra for additional legroom, if you declined the offer, you could not obtain a seat. I know that it is getting unusual to have any sort of enjoyable experience on an airline, but the lack of transparency ("group two" for boarding is actually the fifth group to enter the aircraft) is totally unnecessary."
Cons: "That i booked a flight that departed 6:20pm on Alaska Airlines and found out i was put on a red eye American Airlines flight that left at 11:50 pm. In addition did not reciveve any notification of the change. Had to leave the airport because i thought i was leaving at 6:20 pm :("
Pros: "Everything was good"
Pros: "It was a very quick flight! I got some great rest and went right into work, ready for the day."
Cons: "They checked my carry on, and it ran me a little late leaving from Nashville waiting at baggage claim."
Pros: "I was welcomed and make right at home"
Cons: "Did not like having to stay overnight in Charlotte but weather can do that to a traveler."
Pros: "I liked the comfortable seats.. The crew working for American Airlines are polite and nice. From the very time to get the boarding passes and my luggage handling and all the hospitality, am really looking forward to fly more on American Airlines."
Cons: "There is not much to not like American Airlines as I don't have any bitter experiences till date and I don't wish to encounter too lol I would like more snacks beside Pretsels too and I wish to have a very good hot Fliter coffee or even green tea's during my flight ☺️"
Cons: "Seeing as this flight was cancelled and we had to wait as two elderly people until 3pm the next day to get another flight and American Airlines would not compensate in anyway. I would say that we will never fly American Airlines again nor will my family. This was not the only delay or cancellation because of American either. We spent 48 hours traveling because of delays and cancellations and still American would do nothing for us. I'm 66 and my husband is 72 (who also has had back surgery for five slipped discs) and we had to sleep on concrete floors and had very limited money to buy food. It was by far the worst experience of my life and I would encourage everyone to not travel with them."
Pros: "Service and friendliness"
Cons: "Person sitting next to me smelled awful. Several passengers asked to move because of how awful the smell was. This individual should not have been allowed to board for basic sanitation reasons."
Pros: "Once we finally got on the flight it was great! The crew was Fabtatsic and gave tons of updates as they became available."
Cons: "The only bad thing I can say was the delay. Beyond their control but very frustrating."
"They cancelled my departure flight, and the rebooking process was not easy. My returning flight boarded late. You get what you pay for."
Pros: "not a whole lot of things grabbing for my attention, just a plane flight. simplicity does wonders, don't have to exert a lot of mental energy to figure it out."
Pros: "Extra legroom where definitely worth it!! Crew was pleasant and professional."
Cons: "Waiting area in Phillie airport needed some live. That may not be Frontier’s responsibility..."
Pros: "How fast the flight was."
Cons: "The plane was Dirty and both frontier flights were delayed!"
Cons: "Waited more than an hour to get our luggage in a nearly deserted airport... Staff had to be found to deal with the situation, and the woman seemed rather unconcerned about the issue."
Cons: "Delays, mechanical issue, push back delay, delays in Nashville to deplane"
Cons: "Service was horrible! I originally had a 3 hour layover before my connecting flight which was delayed several times for various reasons which I know can be uncontrollable at times. Once I landed I only had 10 minutes to make it to my next flight in which I asked one of the flight attendants if I could move to the front of the aircraft to try and catch it and she did not allow me to do so and that they had to offload the plane “front to back.” I have seen multiple other airlines that allowed people trying to get to their next flight front-loaded off the aircraft. Once I found I missed my flight I was told that I would have to wait until midnight to fly to Orlando and then fly to my final destination (Nashville) at 6 am the next morning. I asked the attendant if they were able to provide a hotel or at the very least a meal but that wasn’t the case. I understand that things happen that delay flights but I would think this airline would be able to help their customers any way they can and that definitely was not the case! I will never fly Frontier ever again."
Pros: "On time. Low rate. According to my business timing."
Cons: "Charge for Carryon luggage. Charge for snack"
Pros: "Cannot think of a single positive- save for the fact there was a cute squirrel on the tail of the plane."
Cons: "This airline is dreadful. From second one they are trying to gouge you for money. $45 for a carry on. A carry on? Literally every other airline lets you take a carry on and your purse! But it doesn’t stop there. Next they won’t serve you anything to drink or snack on unless you pay for it. On a 4 hour flight (that was delayed by almost an hour btw) no snacks. No drinks. It’s totally ridiculous. And for the plane to be as janky and low rent as it is they should really take a second look at what they’re charging."
Pros: "not much"
Cons: "Plane review because of faulty warning light delayed boarding by 2 hours. This timing put us on a schedule of soooo many planes departing the day after superbowl which led to 1.5 hours "traffic jam" on runway for departure. Seriously Las Vegas? Upgrade your airport. Then when we didn't get the water we asked for, my cousin pressed the attendant button and got a "smart look" from the attendant which visibly annoyed my cousin. The attendant responded by pressing hard on her shoulder telling her to calm down. It was a stressful situation."
Cons: "Major delay upon departing and landing."
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "Was crammed next to a large person that was snoring and taking up space in my seat."
Pros: "No issues"
Cons: "No food, no movies"
Pros: "Nothing . Should be called Last resort not frontier."
Cons: "Not worth it for little $ you might save. They try to screw you on baggage and seating. I arrived to the gate but apparently too late to board. Yet plane was still sitting there. Due to their crappy online service which didn't check me in. When I manually did . Wouldn't print or bring Ticket up on smart phone. There for delayed me at security when boarding pass wouldn't load. Causing me to go to Frontier service desk where it took 30 mins to get my boarding pass with 3 or 4 people in line. Terrible service. Then was a $99 fee for the next flight the next day. I went with United. They took care of everything with excellent care. Never again frontier."
Pros: "Crew was inviting and pleasant, but I didn't indulge in the expensive snacks and drinks."
Cons: "Seats very uncomfortable"
Cons: "We were over half hour late boarding with no excuse as to why. The flight was extremely bumpy. I know you can not control the weather but my colleges were on other airlines and said they went to different altitudes where the air was smooth. The flight attendants on the way to Phoenix were pleasant and friendly, this group acted like they were not happy working. When I was offered service I asked for water with ice. The attendant said only water was free and handed me my glass of water. Did not even ask if I was willing to pay. There was a medical issue on the flight and when we landed the crew asked that everyone remain seated while the paramedics attended to the person. i think it would have been better to get everyone out of the way and allow the person privacy. The person refused help, not sure if it was because everyone was staring at him or not."
Pros: "We were notified at 11:40 that a 1:05 flight was cancelled, so we were unable to attend a conference that was both the expensive and professionally important. We couldn't afford the cost of same day tickets from the other airline flying in, but the fact that they were flying told us that the problem wasn't weather."
Pros: "Cheap fair so if you need to get from point a to point b on a budget and you don't want any frills it's the way to go. We got there and everything was on time and the people were friendly."
Cons: "Small seats, you have to pay for all bags checked or carry on. We had to wait for over 30 minutes to unload. No complimentary anything."
Pros: "The only thing I liked about the flight was finally making it to my destination."
Cons: "The flight was delayed numerous times with little communication from frontier. By the time we finally departed 5 hours later it was a normal cramped flight(I'm a smaller build person and have no clue how larger people can fly but I can't really ding just frontier for that). When we arrived we had to sit in a holding area waiting for a gate to open for nearly 3 hours. Waiting on the ground is not nearly as comfortable as the uncomfortable flight. When a gate finally opened up we hurried to baggage claim where we were shocked at the lack of service. I have never seen so many bags lying around everywhere. On our carousel there were 7 flights... 7. Hundreds of people were waiting on bags and not a single piece of communication from frontier. 2 hours later we found our bags arriving on a carousel on the other end of the baggage claim terminal just by walking around waiting. Absolutely worst flight experience ever. Friends don't let friends fly frontier."
Pros: "There was enough space to put the carry on luggage."
Cons: "seats are uncomfortable, the space in between seats is small. By the time you add all you have to pay extra for the carry on, seats, etc. the price is the same as the rest of the airlines."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Cheap tickets and paying extra for everything then delays and cancels with little to no help given out"
Pros: "The price was the draw, but it is very true on Frontier Airlines "you get what you pay for""
Cons: "Seats were very thinly padded, small and non adjustable. The price for both CARRY ON and checked luggage was the highest I have found, $45 carry on and $40 checked. The price for a drink of any kind, water, soft drink and so forth was way too high. Anything to eat was also out of line. If you are diabetic be for warned, bring your own. My flight from Nashville to Las Vegas was so bad, as far as hidden fees and customer service goes, I tried to book a on any other airline for the return trip to Nashville. This was even though I had a round trip ticket on Frontier. To my dismay all other airlines were full. I am writing this review as I wait at the gate for a departure time on my Frontier return trip, we are 2 hours late for departure with no new departure time given. There are not any Frontier employees in the gate area to give updates. This is the bottom of the barrel for airlines and I will not ever be flying Frontier Airlines again."
Cons: "A eighty dollar bag fee"
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable and the staff were rude."
Pros: "I got from Denver to Nashville in one piece. Good job."
Cons: "Frontier. The worst next to spirit in all areas. You know it, we all know it. Keep degrading the quality of service to save a few bucks.. sets the worst industry standards known. Personally would never fly you guys but last second booking was only options. Keep on driving down the quality while increasing your net profits. Thanks."
Pros: "The boarding was fairly easy and quick. The foot room was pretty good. Greeting was friendly."
Cons: "New thinner formed seats are painful and uncomfortable. No recline. Staff was not very friendly once we got going. Water and ice cost $3.00 and are ridiculous on a 4 hour flight. Dehydration is a big factor. Keep improving."
Pros: "Easy check in and security at O'Hare due to small airlines. Gate was very close to security. Knew about fees in advance, so that was not a problem. Chose seat when purchasing the ticket and was able to get an exit seat at that time. A great deal for round trip flight."
Cons: "Kiosks were down in Nashville causing huge check in line. Not sure if they charge for beverages including juice and pop in flight. Everyone around me chose water."
Pros: "-On time -Got me to and from my location -Not a full flight, so I had breathing room"
Cons: "-$40 for a carry on? I've never heard of that. I must be spoiled with Southwest -Fees for everything -No free drink"
Pros: "Great price, easy booking, and great flight. Would definitely use them again."
Cons: "It was fine. It's low cost and the other passengers were loud"
Pros: "Pricing, scheduling, friendliness, efficient etc"
Cons: "There was nothing with which I was displeased."
Pros: "No food or entertainment on this short flight. Everything was fine . Thank you Kayak for the great price."
Cons: "Plaines never have emough room to be comfortable. Also Frontier served no courtesy anything. Any beverage had to be purchased & credit cards only. I will probably not fly that airline any time soon."
Pros: "Pretty fast and efficient"
Cons: "Not taking off on time due to late boarders....seats not big enough need more leg room and lumbar support !"
Pros: "Good seating"
Cons: "After the $40 per bag (even as small as a purse) the ticket price ended up not being such a good deal."
Pros: "Flight crew very professional."
Cons: "Flight was over 2 Hours late with no weather delays impacting the inbound flight. $40 carry on baggage fee?? I won't be flying Frontier again."
Cons: "Never flying this airline again. They Cancelled my flight without telling, I had to call to ask why."
Pros: "good experience"
Pros: "Smooth ride, convenient boarding. Very short distances, they may be OK."
Cons: "Checked and carry-on luggage rules are complicated to navigate. There is a charge for seat allocation, etc. We weren't even offered water free-of-charge! I wouldn't consider flying again. Because when you add the cost of luggage, etc. Southwest is more attractive."
Pros: "It was a non-stop flight so that was good."
Cons: "Long lines checking in, extra fees for checked luggage, extra fees for assigned seating, extra fees for carry-on bag, fees for drinks and food. The airfare is deceptive because everything is extra. The seats aren't very comfortable and don't recline. The checked luggage also took a long time to come out at the destination."
Cons: "We arrived to check our bags in at the airport about 2.5 hours before our flight. We noticed a rather larger line, so we were comfortable that because we had arrived so early that we would be just fine. Oh to the contrary, the line grew and with it everyone's mood changed. Half an hour passed and we could not find one clerk to explain why the line was not moving. This was the flight back from Nashville heading towards Chicago. In a huge rage, a woman traveling with what seemed to be her mother and two children finally hit a tipping point. She demanded to speak to a clerk and basically had to stalk their office until one came out. Apparently, in Nashville, the check in crew does not begin to check bags in until about an hour to forty-five minutes before your flight. I just couldn't get that through my head. If TSA, got forbid stops you, you're screwed. I will never fly with this airline again. You have to pay to even have a carry on with you, any kind of normal seat selection, seats are paper thin, and service was the worse. I get the cheap prices, but they're not that cheap in order to deal with all this mess"
Pros: "No frills...no nonsense...just got it done"
Pros: "The price was good, but I can see that you get what you pay for."
Cons: "The whole trip was loud from plane engine noise, seats were not comfy. It felt like a very cheap plane. Nothing seemed updated, even the flight attendant's announcements. Then, they tried to get you to sign up for a Frontier Mastercard, right on the plane before we landed. Tacky!"
Pros: "Thinking I was getting a reasonably priced flight."
Cons: "Paying for checked bags AND carry on bags and a soda water and a snack. By the time you add up the unexpected charges you could have paid for a more reputable and less crummy airline. I will never fly Frontier again. Thumbs down."
Pros: "Friendly, comfortable and timely flight."
Cons: "Free drinks? Seemed lacking compared to other flights! Also, baggage allowance? The hidden fees are crazy and not appreciated."
Cons: "The 6 hour delay with very little information on why. Did not keep the people abreast of what was happening. Many angry passengers."
Pros: "Very professional and friendly staff. The price is affordable! Would definitely use this airline again and would recommend it highly to friends and family!"
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Cons: "The seats were very basic. The fold-out trays are tiny. The stewardesses were ok but not outstanding."
Pros: "Once we actually got to board, boarding went quickly. That's about the only good thing. They also gave us dinner and flight vouchers towards future travel because of the delay."
Cons: "You have to pay for everything - paying for a round-trip checked bag was actually cheaper than paying for a round-trip carry-on. That, and we were delayed for 5 hours. Actually, it was initially 3.5, but then we actually got the aircraft at the gate before they discovered the crew was delayed on another flight. Then, you even have to pay for water and other refreshments on the plane. Give me a break."
"No option for not ordering any food, seat were a little in comfortable, over all flight was quick and on time, even on my flight out the plane was an hr late arriving but it hardly affected my fight at all B+"
"Boarding was quick and easy and flight crew was great."
"Like: Friendly crew and a safe trip. Better: offer free water."
Pros: "Yes very impressed"
Cons: "Easy up on the dumb mask rule it a little ridiculous.."
Cons: "During this pandemic they could have just refunded out money but instead they have, thru Kayak, just got it all confusing. Not sure where to go to get credit on a flight i dont even want to book but from what i heard is pigeon holed that its use it or lose it. Good Job. Spirit and Kayak. The Spirit of ripping off America."
Pros: "The crew was excellent, but the seats were very uncomfortable, very hard to find position and they were very soft in the back, so you could feel when people were pushing with their knees."
Cons: "I know that spirit airlines is a very low fare airline but they could add some entertainment and change their seats, even if you're paying for them."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Worst seat on the plane. Had to pay more for my carry on bag than my flight ticket"
Pros: "Cheap overall price, no frill airline"
Cons: "Crew seems jaded, no food or drinks at all, seats are very uncomfortable, very little area at kiosk when you check in."
Cons: "My flight was delayed twice to Boston and I had an appointment to keep. I called the Spirit customer service line repeatedly to ask about travel options and discuss my dilemma. Unfortunately, it seems that phone line is entirely automated. I could not find a human to answer my questions. I finally booked a flight with another airline that was set to arrive in Boston prior to my Spirit flight. I planned to take my return flight home to Chicago, but was informed through email that I had been removed from the flight. I was very upset to learn that my round trip was cancelled by Spirit since I did not take the departure leg of the trip due to all the delays and my time constraints. If I was able to speak to a customer service representative when I repeatedly called for answers, I may have learned of this policy. I was told I could repurchase my flight home for $150, which was too much for me to spend. I am very disappointed that Spirit's budget nature even extends to poor customer service and lack of real humans to provide information during stressful travel situations. Since Spirit has done nothing to make me want to use this airline again, I will be seeking other carriers for my future travel needs."
Pros: "Swap to Delta flight."
Cons: "Return ticket also cancelled without my knowledge. Had to argue to get return ticket restored."
Cons: "Seats were very thin, had has children kicking and screaming behind me on both flights. Both flights were late for takeoff, which was very inconvenient, and lastly I do not think your airline prices justify charging $3 for something to drink! I paid about $90 for a United direct flight to Boston, where I had free drinks, and yet I paid $150 through you guys to take two flights home as you had no direct flights back. I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. Your flights are not cheap enough either to justify charging $90 for two checked bags. Good luck, but I would rather take United."
Pros: "The flight down was fine. The plane seemed new and well-appointed. Boarding and staff were fine."
Cons: "My return flight was affected by Hurricane Irma. Spirit's first response was understandable under the circumstances, and I felt that they handled it as well as could be expected. They canceled my flight, notifying me about 8 hours prior to the flight, and automatically booked me for a new one for the next day. However, when I arrived for that flight, they cancelled after I was already checked in. The lack of prior notification -- and the fact that it was now two days after the tropical storm -- made me think that this was poorly handled. At that point, I bought a ticket on another airline. Spirit emailed me two $50 vouchers with an apology, which I appreciate, but I plan to contact them for a refund."
Pros: "Flight attendants were friendly"
Cons: "No carry-on luggage? It wasn't clear when we booked the flight. We have 4 kids and we just packed carry-on luggage, which all ended up being needed to checked in. Their price for carry-on or checked in luggage is ridiculous. The flight ended up costing us much more than if we flew other airlines. Also, our flight is scheduled to take off at 5:05am, and there were NOBODY at the counter to help any customer for bag drop less than an hour before the flight. There was a huge line and everybody was rushing through the bag drop line at the last minute and running to the gate in order to make the flight. Terrible!!! Seats were cramped, no entertainment and water will cost you $3! Definitely will not fly Spirit again!"
Cons: "After I spoke with another individual he understood what had happened with maintenance on the front end of MSP and that I would've made my FTL flight to SJO had the flight left at 6am like it should've not 3pm. He said nervously that he'd have to talk w/ the supervisor again, where she came back & tried to fight about weather issues from BOS to FTL..but she didn't take a second to understand that I was delayed from maintenance in MSP which didn't allow me to leave til 3pm vs 6 am. If i had made my MSP flight at 6am, I would've made my flight in BOS at 2:45 and therefore caught my FTL to SJO flight at 11pm. He then talked her through it once again, and she gave me a voucher very begrudgingly. Wrong person to have in this sort of position there. I didn't catch her name, but she was a very unprofessional supervisor working the late night shift at 11pm in FTL at spirit ticketing desk."
Cons: "This was my first experience with Spirit Airlines. I was due to fly in and out of Myrtle Beach, within 24 hours, direct from Boston, for some meetings. I had a 5:05 am flight and because I travel frequently, I knew at this time of the day, from this terminal in Boston, I could park and be at my gate in under 10 minutes. I arrived at 4:20 am and proceeded to the kiosk at 4:25 am to print my boarding pass. The kiosk said it could not print me one. With no one at the counter, and another passenger also unable to retrieve a boarding pass, we stood at opening of the security lane with not a single person in queue, staring in disbelief at our gate on the other side of the security point, which began to board, and while I was frantically on the phone with customer service, departed without us. At some point three Spirit Airline employees leisurely strode by engrossed in personal conversation. When we inquired how to retrieve our boarding passes, they said "Sorry, the kiosk closes 45 minutes before boarding. Someone will be back at the desk at 8 am." They shrugged their shoulders and walked away. My ticket says "Gates close 15 minutes before boarding" and NOWHERE on their website, boarding passes or itinerary does it say that you cannot obtain a boarding pass within 45 minutes of boarding. Furthermore, when I tried to check in online and "print" my boarding pass (who has a printer these days?), the process was so laborious, requiring me to login and create an account, that I abandoned the process and thought I would just use the kiosk at the airport. How wrong I was! Had I "printed" my boarding pass at home, I would have parked, walked through security, and boarded within 45 minutes, as I frequently do on American, which also flies from this terminal. This is a piecemeal, self-serve airline. Do not expect any customer service; in this unreliable era of air travel, I would not advise using this carrier unless cost is your priority and you are willing to risk the consequences."
Pros: "There was absolutely nothing positive about this flight with Spirit airline."
Cons: "There was three desperate delays of our flight without any reason given. There were no customer service reps anywhere to be found during these delays to talk to. The gate at Logan airport for Spirit airlines is seperate from the rest of the airport so if you wanted to get any food or drinks you had to exit the gate and go through security again to get back in. None of the seats on the plane recline so you are sitting straight up in very uncomfortable chairs the entire flight. All of the power strips that were attached to the seats in the gate didn't work so you could charge your phone if you needed to. Also, on top of it all when you call customer service to file a complaint you wait on hold for 45 minutes and then they tell you to go to the website to file a complaint! What a joke of an airline. I will never fly with Spirit again no matter what."
Pros: "Seats had a good amount of legroom. Ticket price was why I chose SPIRIT in the first place. The yellow planes are cute."
Cons: "The SPIRIT terminal in Boston is the worst I've experienced, ever. Seating was limited, there was only one refreshment stand after you get through TSA, so if your flight is delayed (which mine was), you can't even walk around and see stuff. The flight attendants were not that friendly and kind of annoying. Nobody wants to hear your terrible jokes on a flight that was delayed. No free refreshments on flight, not even a water, you gotta pay. $50 for one checked bag that was 20lbs, ridiculous. The "low" ticket prices are a sham, you end up paying more in other ways."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled less than 2 hours before the departure. I was told this at the airline counter. I took 7 o'clock AMTRAK to go Chicago and then took Blue line (45 minutes) to get to O'Hara airport. The girl at the counter did not explain why the airplane was cancelled. She offered a flight next day at the same time. My poster presentation was at 8:30AM next day. There was no alternative flight from Chicago to Boston. I just cannot believe this. I totally missed my conference presentation. BAD!"
Pros: "The plane seemed new. The seats were pretty comfortable for an airplane, although not enough legroom. The food cart by Cosi in the waiting area is pretty good for a food cart, except there are so many people the staff get overwhelmed."
Cons: "The Spirit waiting area at Boston Logan is terrible. It's way too small for the number of people boarding and deplaning. There is constant jostling (even while you're sitting down) as people try to get through the crowd. And there is only one food cart unless you go back through security. The food cart is by Cosi, so the food is reasonably good, but with this many people the lines for a coffee or lukewarm breakfast wrap are long. And you have to keep moving to let people pass by. Oh, and I had a 2.5 hour delay on last flight to BWI."
Cons: "I accidentally booked an 9pm flight when I meant to select 9am flight at 8am after missing my jetblue flight. I needed to get to Baltimore for work. I went through security and while I was about to board the plane they turned me away due to my ticket being incorrect. The woman checking the boarding passes rudely said "there's no room on this plane so we can't switch this ticket to 9am." I went to Spirit customer service minutes after I was turned away and they told me there was in fact room on that plane. So because of an honest mistake, they 1) wouldn't refund my ticket and 2) were rude and unhelpful and refused to let me on a plane that had plenty of space but they didn't want to inconvenience themselves for 5 minutes to change my boarding pass even after I had gone through security. I will never book Spirit again, even if I'm desperate."
Pros: "I was grateful the flights never cancelled, but it delayed so often. Good news was I kept getting email notifications on all the delays."
Cons: "The airplane was not meant to be comfortable. The seats don't recline. There's no radio or TV. No Footrest. The seats had very little cushion. My first flight, it looked to be an older plane, so I assumed they bought it used. My second flight, the plane was definitely new and they styled it so it would NOT be comfortable. They even made the tray table shorter. Wasn't able to fit anything on that. If you are looking for comfort or peace of mind in getting to your destination on time, then I would NOT recommend Spirit."
Pros: "Pilot or flight attendant making the announcements was funny."
Cons: "Carrying on a backpack and being forced to pay for a seat cost more than the actual flight. This is blatant dishonesty. You are not a cheap airline. You hide costs that customers are then forced to pay once they buy a ticket. I pay less to check a 50 lb piece of luggage for an international trip than I paid to carry on small backpack for an hour and a half flight. And, customer services reps are rude no sense of trying to ease customer frustrations. An announcement was made that a flight was cancelled and everyone needed to go to some desk to rebook. No apology, no acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Horrible customer service and dishonesty. I've had problems in the past with flights being delayed because flight attendants didn't show. No thanks."
Pros: "Love the prices and the cleanliness of the airplane. Every staff I have interacted with have been friendly, polite, and look as though they enjoy their job and coworkers. The Spirit terminal at the Baltimore airport is phenomenal. It is spacious, clean, bright and modern. I will definitely be flying Spirit again!"
Cons: "This is the second time that I have flown from Logan airport on Spirit. Both times I have been very disappointed and disgusted by the terminal. The terminal is crowded and unclean. There were crumbs, wrappers and bottles on the floor. The trash can near the gate was overflowing with boxes and napkins. I was in the terminal for over two hours and not once was the bathroom or terminal serviced by facilities or maintenance staff. The bathroom is dark and crowded as well. Because the stalls and space is so small it's hard to manage your bags while using the bathroom. I would highly encourage an extra shift for cleaning crew and perhaps a different layout for chairs to make it feel less crowded and to bring a modern feel and look to the terminal."
Pros: "There was not much to like. The crew members were nice and professional."
Cons: "Once you pay for your flight, there's many other fees that end up making spirit just as expensive as other, nicer airlines. There was a carry on fee, which is unheard of. There is also a fee for every single seat. When you get on the plane, the seats are so thin and very uncomfortable. There isn't a single TV and no wifi!! There's also no complimentary food or beverages, water was even $3. Overall, the experience just annoys almost every customer and makes them wish they had chosen another airline. I will NOT be flying with Spirit airlines again."
Pros: "The flight was fine, attendants were excellent. Very efficient boarding. I wasted much of the day before and day of the flight trying to print a boarding pass. Difficult to get to site and then they wouldn't accept my password and then didn't send the password I needed to change it. It was extremely frustrating. When I checked in at the kios I was warned that if my bag didn't fit in the bin I would be charged $100 at the gate. I was a1/2 inch too wide so I paid the $55 and found that people were boarding with big backpacks and not paying. My bag fit easily under the seat. Can this money be redeemed?"
Pros: "Uncomfortable seats, zero leg room, a website that has yet to function properly without me having to call customer service several times per flight. Not to mention the "Low fares" Spirit offers you don't actually account for the money you shovel out for EVERY SINGLE EXTRA you can think of. I ended up spending 65$ on my last flight just to bring a carry on and choose a seat. Tie that all together with an angry, impatient, and unprofessional staff, and you result in a customer who will never be flying spirit airlines again."
Pros: "Nothing I wouldn't even have given one star but I had tk"
Cons: "The flight was overall and awful experience. After purchasing tickets we find out we have to also pay for seats and luggage. So we do so. We come to the day of our flight and board our plane only to find out they had given our seats away. Apparently because we didn't have a dog with us it was only fair to give our seats to the people who did and did not book seats let alone together ! Which is absolutely ridiculous my trip should not have to be incovienced because of other people not planning their trip correctly. Then we get the worst seats on the plane after having to stand in the way of everyone for 30 minute like second class citizens while they wait to see where they can squeeze us in. After sitting down we got incredibly rude service from the staff on the plane. One of the attendants made it a point to say your welcome in a manor of being rude because we would not hand trash to her in another passengers face we made her go behind us which was in the long run easier for her. We never got a thank you or a sorry for ruining our trip. I wouldn't recommend this flight to anyone. The airline is an absolute joke."
Cons: "I did a check in to my luggage it was just one an hour before boarding and i paid 50$ for my bag and they lost it and when i went to thier representative she told me she cant find and when i asked her when will they get back to me she was like as soon as they find it without any specification about the time or any thing and she gave me a permission for a voucher with 25$ to use it in my next trip with them!! Again!!! Really !! If i will travel with again!!! It is a horrible airline i will never travel with them again ever."
Pros: "spirit airlines had the cheapest airfare at the time that we booked our trip. the kiosk check-in was smooth."
Cons: "we got hungry because of a flight delay so had to purchase in-flight food. the food is overpriced and frankly very disappointing. We splurged for 2 drinks and a snack box that claimed to have a cheese spread - in fact it was more like a dip (liquidy). the crackers almonds were good but the other items were just junk. we have ordered similar boxes on other airlines and got much better bang for our buck. I also think that a complementary beverage service would be nice. We all know that corn syrup is extremely cheap so I don't buy into their ad campaign about how not giving free soda service results in lower fares."
Pros: "The flight was the cheapest option available and was cheaper than other airlines."
Cons: "While I had heard bad things about Spirit airlines, I had never flown with them before. I was unaware at the time of booking that Spirit charges exorbitant fees for even carry-on luggage. As a result, I chose to attempt to fit all of my clothes and necessary items in a "personal item" sized bag to avoid the additional $90 it would cost me to bring a large backpack or standard carry-on suitcase. Other fees are charged for seemingly standard items such as being able to select a seat location and receiving a drink during the flight. I could have flown with another airline for the same price if I included the carry-on fee, and in retrospect wish I had. The problems did not stop there, however. Both my departing flight and return flight were delayed over an hour in clear weather. The flight itself was also the worst I have experienced. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and felt like metal folding chairs. They did not recline and there was very little leg room. The full cabin lights were on for most of my return flight, which had been delayed over two hours to 11:15 pm, making any rest impossible. I will never fly Spirit again and will try to spread the word so that nobody else has to endure a flight from this poorly-run, money-grubbing excuse for an airline. You have been warned!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled due to the plane being stuck in another city due to weather. I've had this happen before with other airlines, and they were able to rebook me on another airline's flight, with no price difference. With Spirit, they only were able to refund my money or move me to another date, four days later, which would have caused me to miss the event I was supposed to attend over the weekend. I thought since I was flying solo, without my kids in tow, using a cut-rate airline would have worked out. I've had no problems with JetBlue or SW in the past. But I would stay away from using Spirit."
Pros: "NOTHING POSITIVE!"
Cons: "They chose to cancel the return flight within 2 hours of the scheduled departure and were not at all helpful trying to get anyone out on any other airlines (because they're next available flight to that destination was 4 days out...) Not to mention on the initial flight to my destination, they had everyone board the plane 40 minutes early and then told everyone they had to all evacuate the plane and delayed the flight for 4 hours for NO reason!!!!! I would highly recommend avoiding flying spirit airlines at all cost, what I thought was a decent deal ended costing me an extra $400 for my last minute one-way trip and adding many many hours to my time traveling......"
Pros: "There wasn't much to like on this flight... it was pretty disappointing."
Cons: "All the hidden/ extra costs. It adds up to more than what any other airline would have costed and the service was worse. They lost my bag on the way there. They take FOREVER to get the bags to the baggage carousel (even when they make everyone pay extra to check a bag - but not as much to carry on a bag... you do the math). The flight was also delayed by 35 min. Once we got to our home airport, it took another 30+ minutes to even open the door so we could all get off the plane. It then took another 30 minutes once we all got down to the baggage carousel for the first bag to even come out of the baggage carousel."
Cons: "After being told we were circling our destination due to weather, we were deferred to another airport. This was fine until we were told we'd get sent out on the next plane... Which was also told to the other plane that got deferred (spirit) . Two planes all pushing to get on one. We were then forced to leave the gate with the promise of buses awaiting us. After 4 hours waiting for buses (midnight) I had to spend my own money to rent a car and drive 4.5 hours to my original destination. No offer to be put up in a hotel was offered, nor was an offer to catch another flight. Instead we were told to pay and extra $100 to be placed on standby for the following nights flight to our final destination."
Pros: "I took the flight from Boston to Dallas. Because of the extreme weather in Dallas, the plane was not allowed to land in Dallas, which occurred to all the other airlines. However, spirit is the worst to deal with the issue. They flied is us to Houston at around 6:00pm and kept us waiting in the gate for the reopen airport although they already knew the flight got cancelled. There was not clear announcement about their plans. Finally, I got information from other passengers, they provided two options: either refund or take their compliment bus to Dallas. l decided to take the bus. Again, no announcement of where and when the bus would arrive. After 3hr, two buses arrived, but not enough seats for all the passengers. I did not get in and waited for the next round of buses. Until midnight, the buses still had not arrived. I gave up and stayed the hotel near the airport instead. However, AA airlines already sent four buses to take care of their passengers efficiently before 11:00pm"
Pros: "The person who helped us with our refund was very helpful."
Cons: "We arrived to the airport to check our bags and were informed that our flight had been delayed an hour for maintenance. No huge issue with us we decided to eat breakfast and then hang out for a bit before the flight boarded. We arrived at the gate to find out the plane was delayed another 8 hours. I understand issues happen all the time that are out of our hands. The gentleman at the gate was extremely helpful and accommodating, but he still gave it a 50/50 shot of the plane being cancelled or not. We opted to receive a refund and drive to Baltimore. I completely understand that this was a safety issue with the plane. I'm not upset that the flight was delayed. But having to wait 9 hours for a plane that may or may not be able to make it or be cancelled was tough."
Pros: "Flight from Boston to Cleveland was only delayed 10 min. Return flight was a different story."
Cons: "Return flight landed on time but taxied on the runway for 2 hours (longer than the total flight time). Was only offered 1 small glass of water filled 1/2 up & 1 small package of 2 cookies as a result of federal regulations. Flight attendants & pilot only updated passengers every 25 min, saying it would only be another 10 min longer. As the updates were no accurate and late, passengers including myself were extremely frustrated. Mentioned delay of finding a gate was due to "politics", which I've never heard before. Was extremely disappointed in the way Spirit handled the situation and would not recommend this airline to people as a result."
Pros: "I liked the safety instructions given by flight attendant he was creative and funny making the whole plane laugh."
Cons: "What did to like? Pretty much everything. Starting with the fact they charge for a carry on. I paid $150 for round trip from Boston to Atlantic city. My carry on cost $42 each way!!! That means I paid $240 total for my flight. That wasn't comfortable, no food or drink offered, ride staff at check in desk, and very Uncomforrabel. I could flown jet blue for that with out any extra costs and a much better experience!!!! Never again will I fly spirit. I understand you get what you paid for. But it was so terrible it seemed that they know they suck but make jokes about it. Never again."
Cons: "The nickle-diming of the fares, the long winded check in process, the most uncomfortable seats that I have EVER had the displeasure of occupying, the absence of tray tables or seat pockets and the fact that you had to pay for any beverage or cheap snacks. Not to mention the 2-1/2 hour delay with no explanation. I will never fly them again and will make sure everyone that I know will hear of my experiance along with all of my social media. I could have flown Delta cheaper in the long run and in the future will book with more reliable,up-front airlines!!"
Pros: "We landed safely. Drink serveice without a cart was interesting and must be easier for the company."
Cons: "We didn't care for buying tickets and then getting charges for everything including choosing a seat. The web site was horrible and not mobile friendly. Customer service over the phone read from a script and couldn't really take care of anything for you. Also, Spirit expects you to have access to a computer and printer on your vacation. It "saves you money" to do it online. Yes, most hotels have access to those...assuming you're staying in one. Why can't I just check in on my phone and handle everything else at the airport like I just did on Alaska for my return flight? Why do your flight attendants tell us twice to keep our seats upright when they don't even recline? And, they spent most of flight playing games on their phones/tablets. Cup o noodle!? Really!? Flight industry is tough, I know, and you guys are the bare minimum. Head in expecting a nightmare flight and its not so bad."
Pros: "I liked that we had a female pilot on this particular flight."
Cons: "I had to pay to get a seat on the plane after I had bought the ticket. Seat prices ranged from $4-$20+, in addition to the plane ticket. There is not a carry on bag included in any of this so you have to pay an additional $45-$55 for a carry on and even more if you want to check a bag. There is no in flight entertainment (I like to read so this I didn't mind too much) or complimentary beverage service. Also, the seats don't recline at all. It ends up being a very uncomfortable flight for the same price you would pay for a better airline that builds that into the price instead of surprising you with fees after the fact. Will likely never fly Spirit again."
Pros: "I liked the price and the onboard staff was pleasant. The pilots were appropriately apologetic."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed. Then delayed again, then delayed again and eventually cancelled!! So we were re-booked on the evening flight. Twelve hours later! Then that flight was delayed. And delayed again. Finally we took off 2 and a half hours after our scheduled flight time after spending 15 hours at the airport! We lost an entire day of our mini-vacation! We found out our flight was cancelled do to mechanical failure of the plane. We ended up with the very same plane that night and it was not fixed! They still had a problem with their auxillliary power so they had one Hell of a time getting the engines started we sat and sat and waited on the tarmac for the engines to finally be started. When we first arrived, the ticket agents were nice but seemed easily confounded and seemed to need a manager to help them with every single customer. Unfortunately, there was only one to go around. The baggage assistance office person was standoffish and acted like giving one word answers was a big intrusion on her time, although we were the only customers there when we talked to her. Baggage was in front of and behind her office door. We had to go in through a side door she shared with American Airlines. It was as if she wanted to discourage people from talking to her. There is more, but you get the picture."
Cons: "The flight to Chicago was fine, but getting home was another story. After delaying the flight about 1.5 hours the flight was cancelled. No real reason was given and no other airlines were canceling flights. When I called to get on the next flight, they said the earliest they could get me home to Boston was in 2 days. Everyone was frantically trying to rebook and the other airlines were selling out. Long story short, I ended up paying $270 for a flight to Providence via Charlotte on American Airline. My husband then drove the hour to Providence to pick me up. All in all....I am all set with Spirit Airlines."
Pros: "come on, have you ever been on more than 1 Spirit flight that landed at the expected arrival time?"
Cons: "being delayed 2 hours due to who knows what and missing captains :-/ And it makes a difference when you're trying to catch a train to DC after midnigt. Every time I fly Spirit, I swear I will never do it again, but the tickets are so cheap and the crew is always so nice. So WTF? Charge me 10 ir 20 more bucks and take off on time a little more than 60% of the time and maybe I'll recommend you to fellow travelers. Otherwise you stay a guilty pleasure and your flight continue to go unfilled. I know I'm not the only one to this..."
Cons: "Be careful flying with Spirit. Their policy is that you pay a very small base rate, with no frills whatsoever. The seats don't even recline at all. Baggage fees (even when paid online ahead of time) are very costly. You don't even get in-flight water for free. I can't tell you how many customers were upset any complaining about various aspects of the surprise costs associated with this airline; I'd imagine all over the country every day Spirit is causing frustration to hundreds or thousands of people. Would not recommend."
Pros: "Clean airplane."
Cons: "I feel cheated and deceived. A checked bag costs $50. A carry on costs $55. If you don't realize this before you go the gate it goes from $65 to $100. The counter crew was rude, and the boarding crew in Cleveland was shaking down passengers to be sure they were not "cheating", stopping the boarding process to check passenger receipts. Getting an assigned seat, an extra $15 per person. And there was absolutely no leg room for that extra $15 (which I paid for). These costs should be shared upfront - basically every ticked is $50-$65 more than the website shows. I will not fly this airline again."
Cons: "No TSA pre-check, $55 fee for a carry on, crowded seating - felt like I was taking a bus. Would rather pay full price for another airline"
