That I got home safely

From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us .

I felt like the Sr. Flight Attendance and the Pilot weren't on the same page. -Pilot: "Everyone remain seated" -Sr. Flight Attendant: "We are now going to start serving refreshments" Not sure what was going on there, but at least we arrived safely.

I liked having the built in screen on the a321. Americans streaming service has lots to offer but the built in screens have more choices. I get why they want to just offer the streaming but I appreciate all the choices! There was a group number enforcer at the gate to make boarding more organized! She was polite but told the mobs that try to use the premium line to wait their turn.

I asked for upgrades to and from Chicago. I’m a gold member and fly for leisure fairly often. There are so many people looking for an upgrade these days that you’re rarely getting the opportunity

We had terrible delays and very little transparency in regards to what was going on with the flight. We were stuff on TARMAC without warning for much longer than expected. Overall it took me longer to get from Boston to DC than it took me to get from Spain to Boston. Unacceptable.

After calling Jetblue for customer service per your advice, they first suggested to give Jetblue credits for extra tickets. When I insisted that the issue was solely caused by kayak-jetblue ticketing connection issues, they supervisor approved to cancel 2 credit card payments... BUT I have to wait for 2 weeks to see the cancellation on my credit card. Unfair and ridiculous, if you as me.

I came 40min prior to my flight and found out that it was too late to check in my bag. I rescheduled my flight for $50 fee to make sure I get in in time for my meeting. When I went inside, I found out that my original flight got delayed and was leaving only 15min earlier than my new flight, which then got delayed for another 45min...disaster. Essentially, I paid extra $50 for nothing. In fact, I would have been on my original flight and gotten to my meeting in time had they not had you are on your own attittude toward customers.

She politely offered to hang it behind the last row of first class since none were in use. When getting off the plane, I grabbed my bag as I walked off and the other flight attendant said "you can't put your bag there, it isn't for you" to which I replied that I was told I could use the hanger. She then said "well you shouldn't have been given permission, and don't do it again, it isn't for you." The tone was a bit rude, and maybe the consistency should be reviewed.

Flight crew somehow noticed that we had someone in our party who could use some extra consideration. They pre boarded us as a result! They were also extra considerate during the flight.

Premium economy is the way to go for a long haul flight. We were comfortable and able to get some sleep.

The crew on the way to Sydney was a little more present. There was always someone milling in the galley between the business class and premium economy cabin. The crew returning came through the cabin often and were attentive if you asked for them but you had to seek them out.

The flight to Washington was fine. It was the flight back that I have issues with.

My issue with flying back American is that...I didn't. They boarded us on the plane, moved down the tarmac, and then checked to see that we had a brake problem. They took our plane out of service (which I get, I would want brakes before takeoff), but then they never updated us on our status, until I physically went to the counter to ask an hour later. This is when they informed me that the flight was cancelled and we were rebooked on the 9pm flight (Mind you, this is 12:30p and I have a 2 year old with me). Luckily, I was able to book JetBlue and get home earlier (8:00pm)

There was a huge glitch in your ticketing, resulting in me confirming the same ticket 3 times. After calling Jetblue for customer service per your advice, they first suggested to give Jetblue credits for extra tickets. When I insisted that the issue was solely caused by kayak-jetblue ticketing connection issues, they supervisor approved to cancel 2 credit card payments... BUT I have to wait for 2 weeks to see the cancellation on my credit card. Unfair and ridiculous, if you as me.

Poorly marked boarding times and announcements. Bottom line, I didn't get on the flight and had to take a flight on an alternative airline.

We had terrible delays and very little transparency in regards to what was going on with the flight. We were stuff on TARMAC without warning for much longer than expected. Overall it took me longer to get from Boston to DC than it took me to get from Spain to Boston. Unacceptable.
